Istanbul Restaurant in Manchester

I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish cuisine, but I thought I'd give this a try anyway, seeing the popularity online. I didn't go into the restaurant with high expectations and so once I had a chance to digest the food and form my opinion, I can happily say my expectations were met. It is one of the better Turkish restaurants in Manchester with tender meat and a great Hummus. The Pide was okay and the Apple crumble was delicious. It had a nice tang to it and the Ice-cream complimented it nicely. I was a little disappointed with the rice. Maybe because the grains were really big and uncommonly chewy. The establishment is exceptionally large and the decor is very classy. They do have their own car park opposite the restaurant, which unfortunately does get full pretty quickly because of how small it is.

Lahmacun was bad. Atmosphere, service, service is terrible

Horrible, poor quality food, one hour waiting for food. Waste of money. I will never go to this restaurant again.

The food was really poor quality and the service was terrible. I waited 45 minutes for the food to be brought, and the salad was old from yesterday.

Family atmosphere. We had a table of 38 people and the service was brilliant.

Nice food, quite close to Turkish taste and style. We tried their plater for 2 people and it was quite sufficient. 💯💯

My family, friends and I have been coming here for the last 5 years and the quality of the food, timing and service has never let us down. Even during peak hours in Ramadan the food was brought out very quick and a table was provided at very short notice without booking. Our waitress Sara was very helpful and did her job very well so we wanted to put in a good word for her.

Fresh ingredients that elevate each dish

Hands down, some of the best Turkish food I've had recently! The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavours of the grilled meats were unforgettable. The sharing platter for 2 was more than enough with a great range of seasoned meats, rice and salad. The hummus was 10/10 and served with fresh bread! The staff were lovely and very attentive, providing our meal at Iftar time, making for a fabulous dining experience! Thank you😊

We ordered twice in a row and each time it came incomplete. They kept us waiting by saying we were calling and they were sending it. It was such a bad service. We regretted it so much.

Sarah was a great server! All the waiters were prompt and kind. She even packed the extra food for us and bought all sorts of starters to our table. We also received Turkish tea on the house! It was quite busy so we had to wait 30 mins for a table, maybe because it was Ramadan but apart from that it was a lovely experience!

Food was alright nothing special service is shocking and took over a hour to recive are meal were mine came out first then my partner had wait another 15 mins to receive hers also £2.90 for a multipack can of coca cola is absolutely outrageous will not return

Went with some friends. Walked in and was very busy. I had the Adana Kofte which came as two pieces with rice and some cursory vegetables for decoration. We also ordered some delicious breads. The kebab was bland but the sauces helped liven it up. The premises were clean, the staff friendly, but prices were slightly on the high side. Ample space, and also has prayer room upstairs. No parking though, nonetheless highly recommended and will go again.

First time here and have to say food, atmosphere and the service were spot on. You definitely get more than enough food for your money 👍🏼

A Turkish staple in Manchester, having visited a few times now, I can easily vouch for the quality and level of service. Ordered a jumbo platter, which comes with a portion of their lamb chops which are a very healthy size and taste great. Two things that don’t give the food a 5 here are, the cold mezze platter which serves up 5 different spreads for you to enjoy with the complimentary bread; and in the platter was a huge dollop of green beans which took up a large portion of the platter. They weren’t flavourful and just not enjoyable, and it was quite a letdown as the hummus was fab, and shared between 4 people, it was like rations! Second thing was the ribs on the platter were poor. Genuinely very little meat to eat off the rib and was 98% fat. The desserts (barring the milk cake) were all 10/10. Ordered the jumbo platter, mixed cold mezze, portion of fries, 4 drinks and 4 desserts. £££ - £140

Yummy Desserts fresh and nice. The most thing I love about Istanbul restaurant is the staff, they are really nice and welcoming one of your staff Mariam is really nice and friendly I really appreciate her many thanks 🫶🏻💗

The food here is fantastic! I had the chicken doner, which was packed with flavor and came in a generous portion. My friends loved the mixed meat platter and lamb chop as well. The mocktails, desserts, and in-house tea were a great addition to the meal. Will definitely come back again soon

If you like Turkish food, it’s one of the best places in Manchester.

Value for money! Large portions and a lot meat. Ambiance was also petty cool. Great for family dinners. Fast service. Waiters are also attentive.

We ordered a jumbo platter. Enough for 5 people. Food is delicious. Service so so. Couple of waiters are rude. Service needs to improve. We asked for extra spoons which was refused saying they are very busy and we already have 2.

Amazing restaurant if your craving something interesting. The atmosphere is great with lots of lighting and plants. Food was really delicious and the drinks were spot on! I will definitely come back for more!

We had my graduation dinner at this restaurant in December and the food was amazing, I don't have words to describe it, the meat was really good, they served us complimentary starters and I couldn't get my hands off the bread, it was damn good. I absolutely recommend this restaurant, the food is good; well seasoned, the ambience is nice, the service is lovely. It's a 5 star from me. Will definitely visit again

really enjoyed our visit to istanbul restaurant manchester! really tasty turkish food, full of flavour and spice, really clean ambience and extremely hardworking and nice waiters/waitresses. while the price may seem a bit high, trust me, you're paying for quality. we came as a family of 6 (2 preteens) and the attentiveness of our waitress Sarah will never be forgotten! thank you so much Sarah and all the other waitresses (especially the one we took a picture with (sorry i forgot to ask for your name, so if it is you please comment back with your name) and waiters attending to us throughout the day and patiently and skillfully explaining the recommended dishes to us. also really appreciated seeing how clean the place was and respectful the staff was, even despite it being VERY busy at around 9pm! you go team ❤️ it just showd how much the place is loved by the locals. can't wait to be back! what a spot, will definitely recommend to our other friends - 9/10

We love the food at Istanbul Cheetham Hill. The staff are so lovely, in particular Sara, who served us today. She was attentive and looked after us. She always came over to check on us, even though it was crazy busy! The food is always on point and has never let us down. 😊

Tasty food, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, and considering how busy it was, the service was still extremely fast! Had a couple of sauce refills and bread with no extra charge, and free Turkish tea at the end of the meal. Definitely will visit again, and highly recommend this place 👍

It has good atmosphere however service is zero, i asked for something never appear again. The foods are expensive in compare to other restaurants even buffet will be cheaper and good choice instead.

Ayer celebré mi cumpleaños en Istanbul Grill con mi familia, y fue absolutamente increíble, ¡como el año pasado cuando vine aquí también por mi cumpleaños! A pesar de que el restaurante estaba ocupado, el personal era increíblemente servicial y rápidamente nos encontraron una mesa. La comida era excepcional, llena de sabores auténticos, y el servicio era excepcional. Cada plato estaba muy bien cocinado y servido con cuidado. Sinceramente, encuentro que la comida turca aquí en el Reino Unido es incluso mejor que la que he probado en Turquía, ¡y visito Turquía cada año! El ambiente cálido y agradable, combinado con la increíble comida y el atento personal, hace de Istanbul Grill un lugar perfecto para cualquier ocasión. Gracias por hacer mi cumpleaños tan especial de nuevo! Muy recomendable!
