Venetian Marina and all the staff that work there can only be described as second to none!! I purchased my first narrowboat from Venetian and the knowledge of the sales reps there helped me to make an informed decision, furthermore they helped me understand the process of something that I hadn’t done before, and guided me along the way. As part of the process the boat was taken into dry dock on site for survey and I was kept in the loop about the whole process. I am an engineer myself and their engineering shop looks very well equipped and with the right people in place. I then decided to moor the boat at Venetian, for a plethora of reasons, the grounds are lovely, the site is peaceful, the staff are professional, friendly, caring and knowledgable. Overall i have had a great experience with Venetian Marina and I would highly recommend them anyone.

Visited the café a very friendly family run place with some very reasonable food. Serves breakfasts, toasties and sandwiches also scones and some cake and ice cream. Lovely cup of tea. Places to sit outside while overlooking the canal. If you're boating plenty of moorings around and plenty of car parking. There's toilets outside and a gift shop and boat related services, pump out etc. Great for a stop while waiting for the lock if it's busy.

We've just had the pleasure of purchasing our first narrowboat from Venetian Marina, from start to finish the staff couldn't be any more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Even on our first visit simply to browse, there was no pressure, you're left alone to freely look around, once we found our dream narrowboat Venetian couldn't have made the process any simpler. Being relatively new to boating I was initially hesitant to ask "silly" questions, I needn't have been, no matter what was asked the staff responded brilliantly, always returning calls when promised to do so, polite and so very knowledgeable about narrowboats. I cannot recommend Venetian Marina highly enough, if you're in the market for a Narrowboat, this place should be first on your list to visit.

I would not recommend using Venetian Marina for selling a narrowboat for two reasons. Our old boat was for sale with them. It had been for sale for a week when we received an offer. They needed to start our boat to move it for a survey, the boat would not start. We were told that it needed 2 batteries and a isolator switch, they said that both batteries had been tested by their engineer and they were both gassing and were dead. Previously we had explained to them that the boat needed starting using the heater plugs, especially if it was stood for a short while. They said this was common with most boats and chose not to look at how to start our boat with us. At this point in time i thought that they had flattened the batteries by trying to start the boat incorrectly. Begrudgingly I asked for a quote for the batteries and isolator switch, this was late in the day, so I was told it would be the following day when I received the quote. The next morning, they called me saying that the boat had started and the batteries were fine! So, day 1, ( according to their sales staff and engineer) the batteries are gassing and were dead, day 2 they work fine! I'm not an engineer, but I know that dead batteries don't miraculously recover over night. On a positive note this saved me paying for 2 batteries that were not needed. They told me that the boat still needed an isolator switch and they had a 2nd hand isolator switch that they could fit. I agreed to this, £5 for the switch and an hours labour to fit it £66, was the total invoice. Secondly, after the boat had sold, we needed the bill of sale that shows the new owners details so that we could cancel the boat licence on the CRT system. Venetian marine sales staff had posted the bill of sale to our home address, we asked them to email it to us because we were away on our new boat and would not get to see the post until we got home. They would not email it, quoting GDPR as the reason why not. So, we can have the new owners details by post, but not via email! We called CRT who were really helpful, they cancelled the licence for us and arranged the appropriate refund. What should have been a simple process became over complicated and created an unnecessary and unpleasant experience. On the whole a poor customer experience.

A lovely place to stop off when on a bike ride. We often call in for a coffee and cake stop when out on our tandem. It's also great for a lunch or on the odd occasion an afternoon tea stop. It is a little way off the main road as it has a mile long driveway, but it's well worth the journey up the drive. There's a lovely walk along the canal tow path that passes the marina but sadly the tow path is on the other side of the canal. I'm not sure if there are any plans to put a foot bridge in to reach the marina but it would be a great idea 🤔 As I have said, it's just a lovely cafe to call in for any occasion.

Not very nice sales staff or manager Thought I better tell my side of the story after Venetian reply to my comment. After buying a boat and a 12 month mooring from Venetian marina the gearbox failed after a couple of trips. The marina manger refused to allow a engineer on the marina to fix it, apparently you have to use their on site engineer which I refused to use. The managers excuse was when I purchased the boat the survey had referred to a noisy gearbox, which the surveyor suggested at the time of the survey it may be the engine idle being too high. (Which I had the idle turned down by a engineer at another marina not long after purchasing the boat.) So the sales staff then pulled my boat off the marina and abandoned me on the towpath where I stayed for 5 days till I finally got a engineer out to fix the boat at great cost to myself. Because I spoke to a potential buyer of another boat about the problem I was having the manager rang me cancelled my mooring then barred me off the marina permanently. That's what I presume the manager meant by inappropriate behaviour by myself. Talking to others about the situation I found myself in is apparently inappropriate behaviour. I also had to have the electrical system replaced in the engine bay of the boat as incorrect wiring was found when I was getting solar panels and control box installed on the boat by a engineer at another marina. Again another unexpected expense I had to swallow. After sales help doesn't exist at Venetian marina so I recommend Caveat Emptor The Chandlery and Cafe I give 5 Stars to, as the staff were friendly and helpful

Been waiting to go here for a while, and was a bit disappointed to find out that it's yet another pub owned by a conglomerate. My husband's duck arancini had mint, coriander, cucumber, apple, and sweet chilli, and he felt the mint didn't go with the duck at all, and the sweet chilli overwhelmed the other flavours. My crispy beef salad was nice but the peanuts should be chopped more finely. The beef brisket was very dry, but I paid for the Goosefat & bacon potato to substitute the mash, and this was mouth-watering! Apple and cinnamon crumble was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Eastern Revive in Knutsford offers decent food, but the prices for drinks are steep, with a pint of Coke costing £6.60. The service was good, but the 10% service charge, which seems to be increasingly common, added to the bill. Overall, while the meal was alright, the high drink prices and additional charges make it unlikely I would return.
