Eastern Revive in Cheshire East

Staff lovely - attentive, friendly etc Food - average and pretty disappointing. Chutney tray was overpriced and nothing special. Korma was tasteless. Butter chicken was good. Garlic naan didn’t taste like it contained any garlic! Very expensive for what it was. I can make better curries at home with my spice rack! Wouldn’t return. Had a decent takeaway in the past but I’d give most of the above dishes a miss in future.

I had a meal at eastern revive on a Saturday night with my friends. For appetisers we had the spicy popadoms, which tasted the same as normal popadoms, and a less than average chutney tray. Appetisers: 4/10 For starters we then had the sharer platter for two. The chicken tikka was pretty bland, the samosa was average but the onion bhaji was very tasty. Starters: 6/10 Then for mains we each ordered ourselves a curry. I had the eastern revive jalfrezi which was rated 3 chillis. However the curry had zero spice apart from the single green chilli that was used for garnish. It was also lacking much flavour. However my mains was saved by the naans. We ordered a selection of peshwari, garlic and chilli naans which were all fresh and soft. The peshwari one was my favourite and was incredibly sweet. The chilli one however disappointed a bit because it had the same problem as a lot of the dishes that it wasn’t spicy at all. Curry: 2/10 Naans: 9/10! The service was quick and prompt with little waiting time in between dishes. The staff is polite, the restaurant is tidy and has a nice ambience. All food was served warm. Overall the meal was an enjoyable experience that was slightly let down by the food. I personally would rather visit other Indians in Cheshire but eastern revive is a nice restaurant just don’t order the jalfrezi if you are wanting a spicy curry like I did.

Simply my most favourite restaurant of all time.... I have been going to this Indian restaurant for years I was there on its opening night and still going strong. The food is just perfection in my book. I have eaten at lots of restaurants and even tried award winning places but I have to say this is just a cut above them all. Every time I go here or one of the other venues the staff are all just as professional but more importantly just normal human beings who are genuinely nice and great to take to, this could with the exceptional food they prodice is just an award winner... I really do hope they this place and it's other venues keep on producing excellence and customers keep visiting so it's around d for a very long time.. We have been here a few times and it is very good, the food is always delicious, nice environment and very attentive, friendly service. It was our wedding anniversary and they made a real fuss of us with a little cake and complimentary drinks. Thank you!

Visited Eastern Review whilst in Knutsford for Tatton Park flower festival. The restaurant was beautifully presented, and the greeting given very welcome. The food was tremendous and the care given by staff top rate. If ever in Knutsford again will definitely be back

Best curry I’ve had …ever. You’re not going to be disappointed. I genuinely couldn’t find anything to fault. It’s always a good sign when the lamb melts in your mouth. No cutting and I could have used a blunt spoon. Spacious and intimate. Great service. Good staff. Hope to be going again and soon!

Our first visit here, its my sons local so it was his choice of venue for our family meal. Lovely setting, the food was gorgeous, we had the banquet meals so poppadoms, mixed starter, then i had the chicken biryani, my hubby had a chicken and spinach curry my son had a madras, the girls had chicken tikka massala and my other son had butter chicken curry. We also had garlic,plain and peshwari nanns. As usual we ordered too much, but everyone enjoyed their food. Staff were attentive and friendly, it was really busy for midweek, so its probably better to pre book. We will deffinitly return. Thanks for a good night.

This is a vibrant, busy place that often gets so busy you have to wait - but it’s worth it. The kitchen is efficient so delays aren’t long- there’s a huge range of food and the best thing is the consistency- the quality just doesn’t change. I’ve been coming regularly at different times in the year and it is the same, day in day out. My go-to meal is the Eastern Revive Jalfrezi, I love it. At Knutsford they make it the hottest! It’s a lot of food, though. If you’re doing starters, best choose another dish.

So I turned up a little late for my dinner party. Apologised at the door and explained to Giyash who I was with, he completely reassured me and took me to them (without me even giving the name) everyone who served us was more than hospitable. Not only was the service 10/10 but I ordered the lamb jalfrezi (the only curry I have ever ordered in over 20years)… honestly… it was the best jalfrezi I have ever had. I’ve grown up near Whitehall and the SE of London and genuinely the best curry I’ve ever had. 10/10 is not enough, special mention for Giyash who made me feel right at home, but the whole staff and the chefs (and then some) were phenomenal!!! Will come back… would definitely recommend!

Last year had a lovely meal here, but last night I felt I had been totally ripped off. For example, we had 6 pappadums but barely enough accompaniments for one pappadum - about 3 teaspoons of onion. We had to ask for more and were ripped off accordingly. Out of the 3 dishes we ordered, only one was good. The other two were too hot - same dishes we had last time we came which were fine then. Sorry, but we won't be coming again.

This is our go-to place for takeaways but decided to visit the restaurant for a change. What a delight; excellent food in a bright and clean restaurant with polite and attentive staff. Had a wonderful evening, topped off with a cake (with massive sparkler) that arrived unexpectedly after I’d mentioned to the waiter that we were there to celebrate a birthday.

This use to be my favorite go to curry house but recently feel the curry sauces have changed? Not for the better in my opinion either. Has it changed hands ?

The warm and attentive hospitality in this restaurant is phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed my early-birthday dinner. The staff are absolutely lovely and they made the whole evening. Saturday nights are very busy and I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. I never felt as though I was waiting for anything and the food was exceptional. A firm favourite - and definitely a much better choice to sit in rather than take out. Smart and classy interior, huge menu and they're always happy to swap in and out for dietary requirements. The curries are simply superb - rich sauce, generous meat portions, full of flavour. Highly recommended.

A firm family favourite of ours, it was nice to go with a larger group of friends for a different point of view and an opportunity to try a real variety of different dishes. Everything was excellent, very fresh food. No vibrant, unnecessary colourings. Some of the party had very specific dietary requirements, and nothing was too much trouble. We weren't rushed. The restaurant itself feels clean, spacious, and welcoming to all ages and has a good drinks menu, too. Everyone was very happy and can't wait for their next visit.

My husband and I popped in for a quick meal as we were too tired to cook. As usual, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. I love their lamb dishes, the meat is always tender (unlike many other Indian restaurants) and the curries are never swimming in oil. I particularly like their matar paneer.

Unreal restaurant, brilliant food and always went the extra mile, cleaning in between starters and main, mints hot cloths the lot. Could not recommend more.

Such a fantastic restaurant with great quality food but sadly need more staff. Attempted to order a takeaway repeatedly over a number of weeks but can’t get through on the phone due to demand.

As a vegetarian I found the food here poor standard. Firstly, I am shocked they won't provide low fat yoghurt and most items only full fat. Prices are very expensive for what you get. Ordered onion bhaji, small in size and oily. Also gobi was drenched in oil and poor tasting. Overall, very poor Indian (not really from India) food.

We had a very bad experience on our visit to Eastern Revive. My wife initially booked the table one week prior to our visit and specifically asked that we were not seated at the centre table as the lighting is very bright and the ambience is very poor and asked for any other table but that one. The staff member assured her that would not be a problem. One week later, on our arrival, a waiter then took us directly to that very table! My wife explained that she had been in to the restaurant one week before, and we did not want our party of 9 to be seated there. The waiter was rude and said they couldn’t guarantee where our party would be seated and that they had 2 large parties due. After further explaining we didn’t want this table another waiter came over and said we could go to another table. We all sat down and then another waiter came over to my wife and started to raise his voice at her, telling her she couldn't choose where she wanted to sit. She remained very calm and said, " I came in one week ago and the only request I made was not the be seated on the centre table”… then, a member of staff walked over and tried to defuse the situation. After the two waiters had spoken to each other in which we presume was urdu he then said to our party "you can sit here but we want this back at 8:30pm”;bearing in mind it was now 6:40pm… it was very embarrassing and there was now something of a very sombre mood, and no one could truly relax. The food arrived and to be fair was relatively nice but nothing special. However, around 7:45pm the waiters were hovering around the table talking to each other loudly in once again what we can presume was urdu, making us feel very uncomfortable. My friend looked across the table and said to me, " l get the feeling they want us out now." I profusely apologised that the experience I had promised them had been a great disappointment. Upon my visit, I realised the waiters, apart from one charming young man had treated my wife with disregard. My advice to one whom may be wanting an evening with friends and a lovely atmosphere and good food is to go a few doors down to shamoli where you will be treated with respect especially if you are a woman.

Got pretty bad food poisoning eating here and when I called the restaurant to let them know (also saying that I was in no way shape or form complaining, just giving them a heads up to check their food dates) I was told by management that I was obviously lying and just wanting free stuff from them. The food was lovely but won’t be coming back after this experience.

Great food and service, only downside is the expensive drinks!

When Eastern Revive opened in Knutsford, it quickly became a local’s favourite and a place where I always try and take visitors. Anyone who thinks they have a good curry house in their town, has never been to Eastern Revive. The place is now legendary in Bessenbach, Germany where it is the number one sight-seeing place to go for my German colleagues who come over regularly. Great portion sizes, authentic delicious food, lovely staff, Fish Nariyal is to die for (and I really am not a fish person, so if you are a Chicken Tikka Masala only person, give it a go!). A++ Go there, you wont regret it.

Whilst the food is 90% of the time nice, you need to be careful of getting ripped off. Numerous times I’ve been in they’ve overcharged, and the same with others while I’ve been there.

What can I say - in all my years of eating at curry houses, Eastern Revive remains head and shoulders above the competition. Superb flavour and quality of ingredients, great service by friendly staff. I won't go anywhere else. Update September 2022: just been back for the first time in 3 years, and happy to report everything is still of the same excellent standard.

Went for my daughters 21st meal at her request as she had her 16th meal there as well. Not disappointed at all with wonderful food and excellent service, waiters very friendly and more than happy to assist on our order which arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to all three of their restaurants and it never disappoints. Quite simply the best around. We started with the Grill Platter Starter for Two and all the meat was freshly cooked and succulent 👍🏻 For main I had Lamb Balti, very tasty with big chunks of lamb which fell apart 👍🏻 My wife had Jinga Buna (king prawns), which she said was amazing 👍🏻 Accompanied with Onion Rice and Plain Naan 👍🏻 Everything if fresh and not swimming in ghee/oil 👍🏻

Really attentive service, made to feel welcome and valued. Helped us with the menus and the food was great. This is the best Indian around by far and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. All of the tandoori meat is amazing.
