Eastern Revive - Wilmslow in Cheshire East

It was several years since we last went to Eastern Revive but I aam glad to say that it was as good as we remembered. The food was really tasty. We both had items from the list of chef's specials, one rice and one nan bread plus poppadoms and beer. Service was excellent - quick and pleasant. We went for an early evening meal on a Friday evening and there were already quite a number of diners, making for a good atmosphere. It is quite expensive, though. Our meal came to over £70.00.

Take away is fantastic … so don’t eat in but it’s always buzzing!!! Food is exceptional

Dined here several times when it’s good it’s very good, when it’s not its average. Latest visit was last night 2 out of the 5 meals were average at best and the service was unusually poor.

I have to say this is the best Indian I have ever visited. The food was amazing, the venue is modern and the staff are friendly. The price is on the higher side but the portions are appropriate and the quality is amazing. Sadly they add an automatic tip to the bill so it is only one star from me (yes I know you can ask for it to be removed and the food and service is amazing and deserves five star but adding a tip to the bill is wrong…let me decide for myself)

Second time I've been. Felt I'd give it a second chance. Far too busy. Booked a table and wasn't ready for over half an hour. I've not been to a restaurant for a long time where you book a table and aren't seated because they're too busy. Seems over busy with takeaways. Maybe they just cannot say no. Food took a while to come. Mixed grill was nice and well cooked. Chicken tikka masala has coconut in it, tasted like a korma. Never known any tikka masala to have coconut it. You just cannot make mistakes like this if you want to be a good curry house. I've been to many many curry houses and Indian restaurants. This didn't quite meet the standard. Shame

Me and my husband who are from India and visited this place twice in the last week. We were very disappointed. They provide some very generic curries based on tomato and spices. We ordered chicken bhuna and chapati, Bhuna was just chicken in a tomato curry. Chapati were very dry and hard to chew also not wheat based in spite of the waiter confirming it. Overall ambiance and experiences reminded us of a shady bar in India. They don't even play Indian music lol. Please don't fool people by selling random curries under the name of Indian cuisines. Sorry to say but this is not at all authentic Indian restaurant. There is much better and authentic Indian restaurant just in next lane.

Visit here whilst staying at the Airport for a flight in the morning. Food and service are excellent. The food is one of the best meals I have had at an Indian restaurant. Highly recommended and will definately be returning.

A nice place to dine in the southern suburbs of Manchester. We went to the Wilmslow branch. Food is simple and tasty, easy to digest. Good variety of veg and nonveg options. Nice ambience. Nice location and parking available. Well mannered and professional staff. Will go back again.

Always a pleasure to dine at Eastern Revive. The Tandoori Chicken starter and chicken Tikka madras are absolutely delicious. Service is always fantastic and they remember their customers which is a great touch. See you soon guys!

Went there tonight without booking. They always accommodate us. It’s very busy, the staff are very welcoming. This is our local Indian restaurant and we come here often. We ordered pappadoms and chutney tray, cheese paneer, onion bajis for starters. For the mains we ordered chicken tikka, lamb chom chom, basmati rice, and some Peshawari naan bread, it was all delicious This place never disappoints us, their cooking is consistent. We always get an excellent service, staff are very courteous and attentive. I highly recommend this place !!

I ordered here this evening. The curry was very watery and tasteless, we couldn’t eat any of it as there was a very weird taste to it

Had a few decent meals/takeaways here, but last one was awful. I decided to try something different and go for the garlic king prawn dish…..just about the most expensive thing on the menu at £19, so was expecting it to be good. Sadly, couldn’t have been more disappointed. Firstly there were only 4 prawns in the dish, secondly, they had been very poorly prepared as there were inedible bits on them, and finally, it was pretty tasteless and bereft of any seasoning. Would have been a 1 star, but other dishes were OK.

Hate to give low scores out but waiting 45 mins for our starter while others seated after us were already well into their mains. Appreciate it's busy but you have to keep people in order give or take a little. We asked where the starter was and it finally arrived. Long wait for the mains which were good quality apart from the chicken tikka which had sinue in two of the pieces. Adding a service charge to the bill while they were aware of the service not being good just felt off. We came here off a recommendation FYI.

We ordered onion bhaji's to start plus chicken bhuna and chicken masala as mains plus the bits. We ate the starter which was good and then brought the mains in their correctly labelled containers to the table. When I opened the masala dish it was obviously not a masala sauce or chicken; it was a super- hot curry and seriously overcooked beef. It was binned. I am not sure how a mistake of this kind could have been made but it ruined our meal. Perhaps some other surprised customer got my meal labelled as beef madras.On a more serious note the ER should review their management procedures because a mistake of this kind could have serious consequences in the area of food allergies.

Great food and service. The garlic lamb chops were amazing as was the Jalford Masala. Best Indian meal for a long time. Can’t wait to return

Fantastic food, wine and service Only regret is not getting more lamb chops, simply stunning We were staying at a hotel at the airport before an early flight out next day, taxi was £15, will definitely be back next time we are flying from Manchester

Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. However, the food was ever so slightly disappointing, and the restaurant felt rather cramped.

Revived! After two really poor evenings at Eastern revive Knutsford we had decided to never bother visiting another. Last night a last minute change by chance brought us to Wilmslow, which to be fair was excellent when we were last here, but Knutsford had put us off going to any. Last night in Wilmslow was superb, great service, lovely restaurant and cracking food all round (almost £6 for a keema Nan tho!) but all round great, we have been Eastern Revive’d 🤣

We've been visiting this restaurant for some time now, and quite simply have never had a bad meal! The food is fresh and of the highest quality with many options on the menu. Even when really busy, the food is delivered hot and at a steady pace with no delays! We would highly recommend this restaurant on any day of the week!

Fantastic meal, was so good I didn't even take any pictures! Portions were great, the lamb Karahi ghost is incredible. Service was 10/10 too.

Nice food, good prices, atmosphere and spicyness could be more for me personally, but some of my colleagues struggled with food that wasn't labeled as spicy so I guess they can't really make it more spicy.

We have been many times over the past 5 years and always look forward to a lovely “curry “ at eastern revive. However we ate there last night and it was terrible. I had to send mine back as was cold. and the overall standard was poor … especially the chicken. I ended up with a very bad tummy as did the other members of our party. Never write a bad review but feel this needs flagging up as ruined my night.

What a pleasure! As parents of very full-on boys this is usually our takeaway of choice but a rare opportunity allowed us to eat in. The atmosphere was buzzing, the staff were attentive and most importantly the food was delicious. We ordered two dishes we don’t normally have and they were fresh, tasty and quite simply mouth-watering. Their takeaways are excellent but they are a step above when you eat in! Thank you guys!!

A gathering of friends at Eastern revive. A very warm greeting. Extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Service was prompt. The ambience was perfect for a Saturday night. A busy restaurant with people enjoying their meals. Really loved the ambiance. The onion Bhaji starters were excellent and our meals delicious. Each curry had its own unique flavor. The mixed grill I personally had was very good. The chicken tikka was cooked to perfection it was so tender almost like a prawn. Great naan. Great waiters. Boys night out very enjoyable.

We have vsited Eastern Revive once every 6 weeks for the last 2 years and the food has been consistently great, hence our repeat custom. However we visited last Thursday and the standard has slipped. The chicken was tough and the sauces were bland. The lager was mostly froth. Hopefully this was a blip at Eastern Revive and whatever has changed recently can be rectified.

Tasteless food , owner stated that the food is not spicy because their clients are whites and white people don't like spicy food. He also stated that the restaurant is one of the best in wilmslow and Manchester. He's deluded. When my husband complained the owner told him that he didn't care about his opinion because his restaurant is full and he's never had a complaint before, we sent all our disgusting dog food back and paid £115 for it. The owner and staff have probably never eaten out before and serve what resembles dog food to their "white clients". Owner also rude and aggressive...we will never step foot in there again

Dreadful overpriced nasty food .. avoid. The worst indian I've ever had

The food was probably one of the worst I've eaten for a long time. The food was cold and completely tasteless. When I complained to the waiter he told me that the food is made for "white people" because they don't like spice. I was horried. The owner told us that the restaurant is one of the best in wilmslow and manchester. Clearly he's never eaten out before and very delusional. He told my husband that no one else has ever complained so it must be us. Why anybody would want to eat in this restaurant is beyond me. Super rude staff and owner. We paid the bill as the owner became aggressive, stay clear of this dump as there are far nicer places to eat !!!! We will never step foot in this tragedy again.

Just about the worst meal I've had in 20 years. Every dish seemed like it was coloured with Orange food colouring and varying amounts of chili .. tasteless and nasty, overpriced and just dreadful Don't waste your money .. if you think the food here is anything other than terrible, you need to question your standards ..

Lovely dinner today with good quality and variety.

We ordered, mixed grill platter, chicken Rezala, Keema Chana, Daal Masala, assorted breads and steamed basmati rice. All the food tasted exactly same. No seasoning not even salt in any dish and honestly I am actually feeling terrible writing this review but worse food, honestly. We spent around £68 after 20% takeaway discount. Rice undercooked and sticky. I am not sure if one could get daal wrong but hey, first time of everything. Don’t think I will ever order again. Staff who took the order was nice but wasted our money, ruined the evening and binned the food in the end.

Extremely busy and the tables are packed in like sardines in a can. The rear conservatory area (aka 'torture chamber') is extremely noisy and hot so would recommend ear plugs if you decide to get a table in there. The restaurant refuses to switch on the aircon so wear light clothing. Otherwise the food is ok but my ears are still ringing some 2 hours later.

we have been dining here for some time the food is consistently good and of the highest quality the staff are excellent the chicken shashlik is tender and moist and the thick parka dal is unbeatable the [poppadoms are crisp and fresh .only ever had a good meal here parking can be challenging

Booked a table for my wife's birthday. On arrival was told it would be another 45 minutes than someone came in and asked if there were tables free shook the waiters hand and was seated before us so we left.

We have been to this restaurant many times for a meal and takeaways, the food is consistently delicious and the staff are so welcoming and lovely. We highly recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone

We made a reservation on 7th January for 21st January to meet relatives who we had not seen for 3 years and was looking forward to a catch up. When we arrived we were put on a table next to the entrance it seemed okay at first but before long it became a nightmare. The door was constantly being opened and left open, it was freezing. Then people started to accumulate by our table, either waiting for takeaways or to sit down, at times it was so bad they were brushing up against our table not very hygienic and were very noisy, the waiter had that much trouble squeezing through with our main meals he ended up catching my husband sleeve with his meal. We did mention it to a couple of waiters. We were offered a drink which we declined as we had finished our meal and were cold and not happy with our experience.

Cannot seat you at the time you book and food is average. Terrible experience. Get used to them saying “10 more minutes”

First visit, family group of five, very good service and great food. We'll be coming back. N.B. For anyone needing to park, the Broadway Meadow Car Park is only a couple of hundred yards away and is free after 6p.m.

Busy but not an indication of food quality. Curry for the masses. Probably ok if you like rich overpowering sauces and you've had a few beers but we were sober!

Sometimes the stars align. A 30 minute gap changing trains at Winslow Station was one such occasion. Literally led by our noses from concourse to curry house we were greeted by amiable and a gaging staff who somehow managed to turn out the best curry I have ever eaten in time for us to guzzle it on the train. And they threw in a big bottle of sparing water to help with the pitch perfect Jalfrezi heat. An absolute hit. Highly recommended.

This place is my go-to Indian in Manchester/ Greater Manchester. The quality, portion size and taste of food plus the level of customer service I've had regardless of whether I've gone in a group of two or twenty (I've done both and would do again) is unmatched by any other place I've been to. I recently had their banquet set menu in a group of 20. Not one of us could find fault in any of our dishes, which were very generous and tasted absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Very good tender chops and currys

We booked into Eastern Revive to celebrate family (who we hadn't seen for ages) visiting us. What an absolute surprise and delight we found here. The waiters were excellent and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and some extremely unique and special dishes on offer.

ER accommodated a walk in of six people on a busy Friday night and we all enjoyed the experience. Customer service, table, food and drink all great, thanks ER!

The waiters were so kind and professional. Such a pretty place. We were from Canada and they left an amazing impression. It was a beautiful clean resteraunt. Bathrooms very clean as well. The food ? I travel frequently for work, more often than not visiting an Indian restaurant in each town I work in. I can say with confidence this is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in recent memory. Each dish was well seasoned and the main I went for, a vegetable samber, tasted unique compared to a regular tomato based curry. Very impressed. Generous portions and quick service. Well worth the visit!

Ordered a Chicken Tikka masala for myself and a dargeling chicken for my husband. I'm sad to say it's the most dry tasteless curry I've ever had. I had to bin it, the chicken was stringey and so bland. Will not be returning

Meal was OK. However I was charged £21 for a chicken madras. Didn't notice before I left, so posted them the receipt (as a matter of principle) and asked them to refund. They did not reply. They did not refund.
