I've been to Shalimar twice. The last time I went was with a large group. I couldnt help but notice the staff were scruffy. The table from other diners who had left were still dirty for over 30 minutes without the tables being cleared. The food was mediocre. The worst thing about Shalmiar is Ive walked past on a few occasions and witnessed waiting staff stood outside on their phones and spitting on the street which gave me the impression theyre just not professional enough to be anywhere near food. Wont be setting foot in there again.

As we had a delicious meal with excellent service in the restaurant we booked a take away as a mid week treat. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. It arrived within allocated time didn't need chasing . Thank you Shalamar 😊

Always nice food and excellent service. You are greeted with the door being opened for you usually and very polite, well mannered and informative staff. This goes along way these days where this level of customer service does not go unoticed. Would definitely recommend

I went for a dinner with my friends. Had a lovely dinner there. The staffs were very good. We had ordered very spicy food(by choice), turned out it was too spicy for us. The staff noticed us and helped to turn the spice down and gave us less spicy food. Commendable observation and very generous and kind staffs. I truly appreciate them going an extra mile to make the dinner gathering smooth. Loved the food and atmosphere. Enjoyed listening to Bollywood songs. 👏👏👏loved the kulfi pot!

I have been visiting the Shalimar in Macclesfield for the last 25 years, and I just wanted to give a shout-out to Abdul and his team. Last night, my takeaway, a chicken tikka jalfrazi (as always) was as good as ever!! Tasty, rich, spicy and plentiful. Thank you Shalimar for consistently delivering the best curry in Macclesfield. Whether you eat in, collect a takeaway or have one delivered, I highly recommend this establishment. Simply the best 👌

Collection order. Food hot all ok but the chicken had to different colours and two different flavours. My daughters refused to eat the orange colour chicken. We ordered the same meal so was confused to why it was different colours. Everything else was OK. But it put me of eating it so it went in the bin.

Food came obviously burnt but sadly I had to point this out. Staff friendly and service fine.

We had a takeaway, came on time but no poppadoms. Very disappointed with all the dishes as lacking meat, chicken etc, mine had 4 pieces of chicken & the other meals had similar. The flavours were nice but overall a disappointment

It is not an Indian.. Bangladeshi restaurant in the name of Indian.. All of the here is all artificial color with no authentic taste or flavour.. Its just pleasing to the eyes but not good for your stomach.. Artificial is not authentic..

Been going here for ages, tried the Naga Bahar for the first time, yes its hot but super flavoursome! My new favourite meal!!

We ate here for the first time last night for a family birthday and was not disappointed at all. All the food arrived in a good time and was faultless. I asked for a recommendation on a curry and the gentleman suggested the Naga Bahar, which was out of this world. The flavours and spice level were perfect. From Popadoms, to starters then mains, everything was perfect. The sundries were all lovely. The chutney tray with the Popadoms was the best I’ve ever had. Food portion sizes were good, and relatively inexpensive. We were asked where we would prefer to sit, and nothing was too much for the staff. Overall, a great experience! Probably one of the best Indians I’ve ever eaten at.

First time visit tonight , great food really friendly staff , will be back again when staying over in MAC for sure . Only one gripe no decent coffee offering . Excellent overall though

Always come here when our friends are over as they love the variety on the menu and the quality of the food. This visit we had poppadoms and chutneys. King Prawn Cajun with jeers rice King Prawn Vindaloo with lemon rice, King Prawn chingri massalla with garlic rice and Firecracker lamb with special rice. All totally different and really flavoursome. Had Cobra, Kingfisher, prosecco, liquer coffees and brandies. A good night!

We love the food from Shalimar always but...last nights takeaway was AMAZING, we had been to an event locally and were entertaining the singer afterwards, she said, 'It was the best curry" she had ever had. Thank you.

Yet another amazing meal from these guys, The best curries ever tasted. We have now settled on the perfect combo, chicken tikka samber and the Shalimar tasty tikka, my wife and I split the meal 50/50 and it is perfect. We’ll done guys

I find the food at Shalimar to be reliably good. The service was excellent. Just enough attention in making sure all was fine. Not in your face but always there when required. Mid week so not too busy but we weren't the only people dining. Very nice experience.

Use to be a lot better, food has gone downhill since my last visit, checken was tough and scallops were tiny, like the ones you get from freezer bags.

Had a take away delivery. Nothing wrong with the food. However the “extras” added to the bill were way out of order. I paid a delivery fee which is fair enough but 70p processing fee - what’s that all about plus 10% tip. Why should I pay a tip for a takeaway when I’d paid delivery cost. Tips are for good service, I wasn’t eating in the restaurant so hadn’t been served. I won’t be buying a takeaway from this restaurant again.

Chicken sag was very weird. Didn't taste like chicken. It was too thick and the tikka masala was the same. Always been very good previously. What's happened I wonder. Maybe different chef. Service was good, but very disappointed.

Called for dinner on Monday night with my husband and brother in law. The food was excellent as usual. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were brilliant. Usually have our takeaway from here which has always been great too

Ordered takeaway. Biriyani was greasy and tasteless. Tikka masala was watery. Jalapeno bites were meagre (4 very small) and stone cold. Naan was the size of my hand. Popadoms were missing. Really disappointing as we've been in the restaurant and it was great.

Faultless. Everything is exactly as you would want. Lovely people, lovely family, just great.

Best Indian I have had! Visited with my boyfriend while staying nearby for a night. Service by Faheem was top notch, and food was incredibly tasty. I tried the Lamb Ampora and was very impressed 👌

We mostly have a take away , lovely friendly man who delivered our food ,the food is 10/10 but 6 months ago I always had onion bhajis but they really went downhill I had them three times and couldn't eat them, but tonight I ordered by chance o /bhajis and they was 10/10 .well done at last .

Superb curry. We ate on the Sunday deal 5 courses for £14.95 per head. The starter and main course were of high quality and tasty, will deffo go back next time I am in Macc!

First time visiting the Shalimar. We didnt book but they accommodated us quickly. Clearly a very popular place as it was packed - as one table left another came in! Food was absolutely lovely - I had the sizzling tandori chicken which I highly recommend! Staff are very friendly and were looking after everyone well. We will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best restaurants in Macclesfield! Highly attentive and friendly staff. Tasty and fresh food. Incredible selection of items (all can be adapted to become vegan!) So it has a truly a superior VEGAN MENU!

For sure the best curry house in Macclesfield. They have an extensive menu with many dishes I have never seen at other restaurants, all of which are excellent with something to suit every taste. Cannot fault the service as well, the staff are really friendly. They also do a good takeaway service and offer home delivery. The menu also doesn't stand still, with new dished being added periodically and covers fusion and signature dishes as well as more traditional meals

Usually love it at the shalimar but ordered a takeaway and was dissapointed, everything tasted fine it was just the rogan josh I ordered, I like a little bit of spice and there was none at all, it was very bland, mixed starter was nice and the rice and naan etc but the main dish let it all down.

Everything was great. Food - service 5* Came with family. All enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommend

Called and collected a takeaway, very disappointed, had a Vegetable Biryani and a Rogan Josh (vegetable) both dishes were absolutely tasteless, not a hint of Indian flavour. Would not visit again.

Totally unorganised for 14 or so people in our group. Took an hour and a half from sitting down to having part of the food put on the table then to wait further for the rest... unacceptable really.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Macclesfield Abdul is a great guy and also Farheim is a great friendly guy I use this restaurant for dining in or takeaway if you like a hot dish try the Nepalese you won’t be disappointed never been let down yet over the years I have been using this establishment.

Food lukewarm even though it was a timed order at the start of opening Meat was gristly and the rota had not seen the heat of any oven being floury in texture.Not a good introduction to this restaurant but there are others to try.NB to owner yes I did try your takeaway and calling your restaurant the NEW shalimar is irrelevant as my order via the website was clearly at the same address.Lukewarm food it was and poor at that. Try harder!

Just had a wonderful experience, my taste buds are still alive with the flavours I've just eaten. From start to finish this has been one of the best restaurants I have been to, food was hot,tasty and visually enviting, the staff are attentive, friendly and are happy to provide everything you need to give you an unrushed and relaxing meal. The little extras were a nice surprise on the way out but to find out what they are you'll just have to experience it for yourself. Once again a wonderful experience, will definitely return.

Highly recommended. By far the best curry we’ve had in a long time. Fantastic flavours and very reasonably priced. Had the £15.95 Sunday evening offer. Includes poppadoms/chutneys, any starter, any main, rice or naan and ice cream or coffee to finish. (Little extra for upgrades)....

Visited last night with family and this place is amazing. Surroundings were clean and attractive with a lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive service with a smile.
