Absolutely horrendous. Food is not authenticly Indian, not better that any Indian Take Away from no where. Service is not great, they try to impress you but fail at delivering. 1 HOUR wait for mains! Incredibly overpriced too, nearly 80 pounds for 2 person dinner. Also whats up with the bubbles?

The moment I walked in, the modern and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The menu is packed with all the Indian classics, and it was hard to choose because everything sounded so good! I started with the vegetable pakoras, which were crispy and full of flavour, especially with the mint chutney on the side. For the main course, I went with the chicken dupiaza and it was amazing. The chicken was so tender, and the sauce was rich and just the right amount of spicy. The garlic naan was fresh and perfect for soaking up the sauce. The service was spot on—friendly, helpful, and always there when we needed something. The staff gave great recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of. What really stood out was how authentic and delicious the food was. You can tell the chefs really know their stuff and put a lot of love into each dish. If you’re after a great Indian meal, you’ve got to check out this restaurant. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

Had a meal here with friends on Saturday 12 July. We’ve all eaten at many Indian restaurants (both high end and budget) over the last 40 plus years so I think we all know what’s good or bad and what things are worth. As far as the food goes two of the dishes were ok, the meat was good quality but the sauces too think for our tastes. Our friends Dansak however was very poor though. I could explain what was technically what was wrong with it but haven’t got the time or inclination for this review. The worse thing for us wasn’t the very average service but the high price of all the dishes. Unfortunately the food doesn’t come up to the price they’re charging. They also added a mandatory service charge of 8% The mandatory service charge wasn’t obviously visible on the menu so we felt slightly conned by that. Overall we won’t be going back as there’s plenty of good Indian restaurants that offer better food and prices.

Had an Indian meal early evening with some friends after a round of afternoon golf. As well as the standard curry variations there was an extensive and varied specials options available which we all selected and enjoyed. Accompanied with ample sized nan to share and perfectly cooked rice and Chapatti. With the obligatory Indian lager on draught available to quench our thirst it was an modern but authentic dining experience. Great place to enjoy time with friends and family. The food and service was excellent and highly recommended👍🏼

The service was 'okay', the decor was pretty grim at the back of the restaurant. We were seated in a dark corner with black walls... facing the toilets!! My partner and I had... TO EAT: Poppadoms x 4, pickle tray x 1, onion bhaji x 1, sizzling curry x 2, rice x 2, naan x 1. TO DRINK: 2 x medium house wine, 2 x pints Cobra beer. We were charged £115!! The quality and flavour of the food was good but, wasn't 'stand out'. Our local curry house in Macclesfield charges half the price for the above order with far better service and food served in a more traditional, cosy setting! We tried it, we won't return!!

Crazy expensive. I don't mind paying the money if the food is good and warrants it. I would say below average in terms of Indian restaurants. A bowl of rice is £4.50. with a few slices of lemon thrown in. Absolutely absurd. The chicken was tough and felt as if it had been cooked for a day or two. When the main arrive two minutes after ordering tells you everything you need to know. The service was great. I can't knocked that. Really make you feel welcome. The venue and and service is 5 star. The food like I've mentioned before isn't worth a third of the price charged. Main was £20 rice £4.50 and keema Nan just short of £6. Over £30 is absolutely ridiculous.

Last night was our first visit to the Poynton Pakora, and it didn’t disappoint. We were seated in the VIP area and hence enjoyed our meal with a degree of privacy. We chose meals that differed from our usual choices and the food was faultless, this was matched by the high standard of customer service. Really tasty Indian food in the heart of poynton and usually my go to place. Ordered the usual last night and charged almost 50% more. Queried to be told prices had gone up. At least let people know at the point of order. We get it, cost of living is squeezing prices everywhere, but 50% in one go…. It was delicious but will be visiting a lot less as a result.

We had our niece staying with us from Australia, looking for somewhere open on a Monday night, said she'd like to try an Indian in this country. Our regular curry house doesn't open on a Monday, so after searching reviews, we decided to try here, and we're glad we did. Service was friendly and excellent from start to finish. All food was served in good time and was really flavoursome. Apparently, poppadoms are not served in Melbourne, and the condiments tray had 6 or 7 items, went down very well. A great meal out, enjoyed by everyone. You must try a naan, wife said best she'd ever had.

Mesmerising feast of flavours Well where can I start ! This is the second time upon visiting the poynton pakora and I have to say I was blown away. I ordered the chicken biryani, chicken nagpuri, pilau rice, lamb podina and garlic Nan Firstly, shout out to the owner Ash who once again went the extra mile to ensure my experience was a happy one and took great care of us on our anniversary. We firstly were given some complimentary poppadums accompanied with beautiful sauces, the in house coleslaw was wonderfully creamy and also the unique gorgeous tangy green sauce they did as well! The mains we started with the chicken biryani which was beautifully cooked with a wonderful array of flavours and overlooked on a bed of omelette ! Next on to the chicken nagpuri and it did say on the menu this was spicy but my word this had a wonderful concoction of flavours with what I can simply describe as a fire work display of flavours in my mouth ! Simply Amazing !! And it wasn’t too hot complimented beautifully with the nan and rice. The lamb podina was delicious as well as the meat melted in your mouth with a delicious tangy sauce. The wife absolutely loved this. Just couldn’t fault the food overall and the lovely service that was provided. The waiters were never too hesitant to cater to our needs and always willing to go the extra mile. The food and whole experience was wonderful and also added mention to the waiter Martin who had great banter with us and his English has improved vastly since we last met. We will definitely be returning once we are back up north and the best Indian cuisine I have had in Manchester by a country mile! Keep up the great food to the Poyntonteam! And management. Muj

My friend’s and I all went for a curry last night and we waited 40 minutes for someone to come and take our food order. We then had to wait another 55 minutes for our starter to come out, after ordering. I didn’t order a starter for myself as I know I get very full with just the curry, although I was regretting this now as we waited over an hour and a half for any food to come to the table. 2 hours in, I finally received my first bit of food, which from past dining experience, I’d expect to be leaving the restaurant in that time. I do understand that it was a busy Saturday night, so although I was annoyed, I wasn’t going to make a fuss over. My friend’s and I all paid separately, so when it came to my turn to pay, I kindly asked if the service charge could be taken off, as I didn’t think it was fair to pay this, having waited 2 hours to eat anything. The waiter then told me that everyone has to pay it, I couldn’t take it off, and if I wanted to not pay it, he would just add it onto my friend’s total. He also said the reason it felt like a longer wait, was because we didn’t have poppadoms and starters. My other friend’s did in fact have starters which took an hour and a half to come out and I don’t believe if we don’t order poppadoms, then we should still have to wait the same amount of time as if we were to have them. Although the other waiter’s were nice and we were a table of 7, I don’t believe it was fair to add on a £28 service charge, when the food took that long to come and we had to keep calling people over to take our drinks order. As stated previously, I understand it was a busy Saturday night so I wasn’t going to make a fuss but the fact that we couldn’t then remove the service charge is what has annoyed me. I hope in the future you do allow customers to remove the service charge if they aren’t satisfied with the service, as this is the law. Thanks

We booked a table for 4 on a Saturday night at 9pm. The restaurant was busy but not crowded, booking was simple online and we were welcomed and given a choice of tables. We ordered poppadoms with all the accompaniments, the house slaw and green chilli dip were both new to us and they were joined by the usual lime pickle, chilli sauce, mango chutney and mint yoghurt. The dips were delicious, the house slaw was a favourite we could have eaten two or three pots of it! The chefs specials had some interesting choices available, some of the dishes unique to this restaurant and looked nice. We opted for chicken Nag Puri and Lamb madras. Nagpuri is a favourite of ours at another restaurant, we have never found it’s equal elsewhere and it’s rarely on other menus at all. The dish here was outstanding, better than our usual restaurant which takes some beating! The dish is very spicy but this was really tasty and flavoursome, the chicken tender and portions generous. The Lamb Madras was perfect, tender lamb generously sized and not stingy with the meat like some places can be. We ordered a variety of naan breads, peshwari, keema, garlic and helicopter naan. The naan came out on a stand they were enormous and absolutely perfect. We could have just eaten naan all night, crispy round the edges whilst being lovely and soft. Perfection! The helicopter naan was unique, we had never seen or heard of it before. The staff explained it was naan with pineapple, unusual but lovely and we would have it again. Prices were reasonable and similar to other Indian restaurants, we each have a main course with rice and naan plus poppadoms and a drink, costing £35 per person, good value for money and worth every penny. We took our leftovers home and enjoyed them the next day,, they were just as nice reheated! The staff were attentive & friendly, service was quick & efficient and the food was absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend Poynton Pakora and look forward to going back again soon.

Can't fault this place. Food is amazing, great service, they even clean the table between courses. A big thumbs up. A relative from North Wales always has a takeaway to go back with.

Ash and his team always do a great job. Daughter back from Germany so the first time I have seen her in 18 months and her first choice was the Purple Pakora. Service great food always good and they are happy to tweak whatever you want. Banquet always a winner.

Lovely meal, restaurant very busy on a Saturday night. Was sad to be told no cocktails are that was partly the reason we booked after seeing Purple Pakora on Instagram… Food was nice would return for that, however the service was extremely slow. Nice waiters...

I’ve eaten here many times and attended the New Years Eve parties. The food is delicious, and very well priced. The staff are attentive and can’t do enough to please. There’s always a pleasant atmosphere and the owners make an effort to get to know their regulars making you feel right at home. They are willing to adapt the menu to suit individual tastes. A great place to eat.

This place had one of the nicest currys id eaten in a long time. The menu is extensive and has a variety of options. I went for the butter chicken - very tasty and my friend went for the ghar ki handi which he said was very good. We also got the grazing platter of pani puri which were packed full of flavour! We were early so it was a little bit quiet but soon picked up with diners. Staff are attentive. Cant wait to come back again. Would definitely recommend.
