Good for vegans and vegetarians

After a few good experiences here the quality has gradually declined. Food arrives cold more often than not but tonight (15/8/24) took the biscuit. The food arrived cold and had to be reheated. I ordered normal chips which arrived mega spicy and had to be thrown away as I couldn't eat them and my partners pizza, which is the one he always has, was also so spicy he couldn't eat it. Completely wasted my money. They phoned me and offered no solution and I felt like they might get as well have said I was lying about the chips. No offer of a refund or anything. Ruined our night before we go on holiday. We won't be ordering here again.

Ordered 3 pizzas with a number of sides via online, disappointed that all the food was delivered cold. Speaking with Amrit (Veggie Master colleague), she was defensive and unable to offer options to resolve. I will not be ordering from this establishment again.

Review Updated: We ordered here for the first time in a long while (they changed their delivery area). We used to order far too much from this place. Cannot believe what a fall from grace tonight was. The portion was TINY. Still tasty (maybe not quite as much as before but still good), but the size of portion!? What has happened? Will not be back in a hurry at all. So so disappointed after being so excited we could get a delivery again. From 3 years earlier... Where have you been?! I never realised what I was missing in my life until we moved area and could start ordering from here. THIS FOOD IS DELICIOUS!!!

If you’re a vegan this restaurant is basically heaven. Most takeaway restaurants have 1 vegan meal if you’re lucky but these guys have EVERYTHING and so far everything I’ve tasted is amazing. The staff are friendly and do their absolute best in making sure that their customers have a good dining experience.

I’ve been ordering from Veggie Master since it first opened and it’s never let me down. The staff are friendly and helpful whether in store, or on the phone, and the food is amazing. My top pick is the Samosa Chaat, incredible! I’ve tried nearly all the vegan options on the menu and every option has been 5 stars!

Probs my 10th time ordering. This time was somehow extra special - my vegan pasta bake made everyone else jealous it was so good. Veggie chicken 10/10, veggie fish wrap 10/10. Honestly so happy to have this place in derby and will always go back. From one very full and happy customer

Veggie Master is hands-down the BEST vegan/vegetarian place you'll find in this area! This has always been my GO-TO since I found it, it is my No.1 for amazing comfort food. Dine-in, take-out or delivery, all fantastic! The woman who works here deserves a medal for the effort that she goes to, to always ensure the friendliest atmosphere and service, and the most delicious meals. Some of my favourites are the vegan southern fried chicken burger with the v" nuggets.

Usually good, but most recently received some southern fried substance that tasted foul: blandness mixed with a fruity, sour flavour, inedible and not savoury; it reminded me of the aftertaste of vomit or Lilt. Not at all what the same thing tasted like last time I ordered it, though it looked about the same. I ate one piece only before my taste buds could fully appreciate the nasty flavour, and a bite of another to check if it was isolated to a rogue nugget (it wasn't and I wasn't about to bite all the chunks). Chips were okay and partner enjoyed the pizza, despite the unwanted olives. Partner phoned and they denied any recipe change to the southern fried matter. They offered gratis extra stuff next time, and refused a refund for the disgusting food items. However, I'm highly unlikely to be ordering again. Delivery driver was pleasant.

Good & tasty food, friendly staff as well

Absolutely ridiculous that they won't deliver to the hotel we're staying at (ibis budget), but they would deliver up the road!! Looked forward to this takeaway for weeks. Not cool.

Great food. The new management is doing a great job in maintaining the customer experience. The food quality has improved a lot.

I cannot believe how subpar the "Paneer special" pizza was that I ordered from this establishment. Where do I even begin? Firstly, the toppings were practically nonexistent! I could barely see any paneer, let alone taste it. It was as if they sprinkled just a few pieces of paneer on the pizza and called it a "special". The other toppings were barely visible too. Secondly, the pizza crust was lackluster and tasted like it was mass-produced. I felt like it had been sitting around for ages. Thirdly, don't even bother with the sauce! It was bland and lacked any personality, and it tasted like it was out of a can. The overall pizza was dry and tasteless - I would have much rather saved my money. I will never order from here again, and I recommend that you do not make the same mistake!

Honest review of the restaurant - I was rejected twice on different days because they were too busy. But I persevered and managed to get third time lucky. I tried the pizza and a couple of starters. In terms of food quality, it was okay, on par with other fast food places on the same road. The key selling point is the large vegetarian menu. Price was okay for the product - but on the higher side of what I am used to paying in West London. The location is on a busy road in Normanton, so there is no safe parking. Updated: After trying the food over the past few months, my experiences have worsened, to the point we've stopped ordering food from there. The quality has significantly reduced. Update Part 2: New Management and a New low in product quality.

Great food. best for takeaways, would not recommend dine in simply cause the ambience is not such but the service during my dine in experience was exceptional.

Used to order great vegan food from here but management has changed and the food quality has declined as well as service. First time I’ve had to throw away takeaway food because I couldn’t eat it. If your vegan watch out as one vegan dish I had had non vegan item.

Great place! the paneer and haloumi are amazing!

I ordered 3 items from this restaurant. It took over 2 hours and the food still had not arrived. Upon calling the restaurant they were most unhelpful and instead of trying to remedy the situation they were trying to place blame elsewhere. Even to the extent, I was told to order the same food tomorrow, with absolutely no consideration of the order placed today and if vulnerable people were waiting on the food. Absolutely disgusting behaviour of all staff involved there. If I could give them a negative grading I would. Please do not order from these people.

Don’t normally post reviews but this was amazing. So pleased to be able to have a vegan kebab and it was on a lovely soft fresh naan. The delivery man was also very polite and friendly. Will definitely be ordering again! Thanks!

We regularly order from Veggie Master and recently there orders have not been consistent especially there pizza. However yesterday's order of Chilli bites was shambolic. The bites arrived like this and when I called the lady on the other side yes we know they didn't look right so I asked why they then sent it and charged me for it. She then argued its how they came. I showed understanding that they may have arrived from the manufacturer like that but why would they send this out to a customer. She was reluctant to offer a refund and when she agree she said someone would come by and give us our refund I am still waiting for the refund..not received the refund yet. I could not understand, they agreed themselves they were not up to standard but yet the continued to send them out to me.. Where's my refund-it's not a matter of money it's a matter of principle!!

This is how my chilli bites arrived. When I called complaining the lady admitted they didn't look right, so I asked why they would then send this out to a customer. I asked for a refund not once through the whole call did she offer a refund know and admitting it was there fault she said someone would come by and give us the refund, but I am still waiting. Very poor customer service. It's not about the money it's about the principle.

I actually can’t believe how dirty this place was and still is, Two girls , one girl scratched her head and then touched my food the other girl took cash off me then also handled my food, never washed hands !! the place was shockingly bad, absolutely no hygiene awareness . I had already paid for my order otherwise I would have definitely cancelled it straight away, I was so excited about this place and wanted to order one of everything off the menu, great idea but such a shame, I jumped back in my car and dumped the food in the nearest public dustbin. Will never ever go there again. It should actually be shut down or the owners need to get a completely new team. Those two girls look like they had the same clothes on for about a week ! Just so dirty, Terrible.

Genuinely the best vegan takeaway to exist! Always consistent, flavours are incredible, delivery always on time and super friendly! Could not fault, worth a try even if you’re not vegan! Wish I could give more stars!

Just be careful when/If you order the wraps the portion of some kehbabs are not the standards as they should be. Try not to take delivery as food will be cold by the time it comes.

Food was cold and there isn't even enough material in it as you can see in the picture (it's not the first time it has happened either). Edit: the owner replied saying that these complaints have only come from me but if you scroll through the reviews you will see that there are more. I've also had other people telling me the same thing, so I'll advise them to post reviews next time.

We've been really pleased with the food. Today is the the third experience where we've attempted to order online but the website says they are still closed (after an hour of opening time). I've tried calling but no one answers the phone. Like the other times we'll unfortunately make other plans. It feels like the "opening" times are unreliable.

Bad quality and very unhealthy food. We gave several chances to this place. But their quality is getting worse everytime we order. The pizzas are the most terrible pizzas we have ever had. I wouldnt even give 1 star to this place. Its shame because other branches of veggie master are really good quality. Its just this branch. I hope they dont get offended by my review and instead make their quality better. As I want them to get better. We have complained to them several times but they dont change.

Really tasty vegan options, the chips are always crispy as are the samosas, I highly recommend the vegan tandoori kebab! Also prompt delivery and hot food. Great food and service.

It's was disgusting chill panner kebab and ready made nan was smelly. Kebab was watering, salad was poor quality and only few pieces of paneer The food was cold and salad tast was awful. It wasnt any ingredients and no feel the taste. Paneer taste like expired And Everything about it was terrible. No salad in wrap however only peices of vegan chicken It was disgusting Owner's behaviours and attitude , said if you don't like the food and dont order it. It's happened few times before but it's wasn't that bad. I would not recommend it and my friend already stop ordering food from here.

A small family run business which serves only vegi and vegan food. Clean,tidy and good value for money. With delivery service to. Very refreshing to see vegetarian dishes.

What a gem, so nice to find a classic naughty takeaway that is fully veggie, and lots of vegan options. Service was slow, but friendly so we didn't mind. The chicken tandoori Kebab was delicious, and everything seemed very fresh. The pizza was good, although the dough was hard on the bottom. Will definitely try again.

It seems like your standard takeaway, but everything is vegetarian, mental. After tasting the lamb kebab im convinced it's the future of takeaways. it's amazing taste and wide variety is the likes of which i have never seen. I hope veggie master moves around the country! Are there any more?

I placed an order using a delivery service with veggie master and paid online online to be insulted by a delivery driver who kept pointing at the no cutlery option saying you haven't paid I want money and insulting me. I showed proof from the delivery service and he told me I was a liar as if he had change I can't have paid and the note says no cutlery. (He did not read it correctly and would not back down) after ten minutes arguing the food was cold and I was insulted. Having spent £35 as the food was so expensive I was no happy to have had cold food, a driver insulting me and such awful service. Avoid here as there's much nicer food for less money and polite service

Had a takeaway as a couple - non-veggies both love experimenting, and are flexiterian in which if there is a great alternative to meat we will choose that. Great as there’s lot of veggie options that do not compromise. The pizza tasted good and the veggie chicken was an almost perfect replicate. Halloumi fans will love the big slab of halloumi on the Halloumi burger, great quantity and quality. However, I will not be ordering the falafel salad again, the falafel was very dry and the salad itself didn’t seem very fresh. Arguably, this is how normal “non-veggie” takeaways approach salads so, in theory, they are doing a great job of replicating a normal takeaway really. Will order from here again where we are in a group gatherings.

Don't really appreciate! Ordered Vegi Noodles and Paneer Noodles and requested for SPICY but they actually added sweet and sour chilly sauce, really!!! Quality of noodles are so bad that it looks like yellow worms 🤮 Looks like the Paneer was made few days ago as I could literally see the top layer was dried up! Sorry, can't recommend it!

Myself and my partner love this place, great choices, good and fast delivery and good prices. Was a five star but the naan breads the last 3 times gave been dry and seemed a bit stale. They used to be extremely fresh and lovely. This is my only criticism though

My go to vegan fastfood takeaway, nice pizzas (meat feast is a recommendation), and their vegan tandoori kebab is very nice, affordable too.

Fantastic food! We were passing through the area over the weekend and were pleased to find somewhere offering good vegetarian and vegan options. We were not disappointed with the food! The portions were generous and the food was delicious. We would definitely eat here again and will be stopping in again soon when passing back through.

I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of choices as quite a few of my family are veggie and some vegan we don't get usually get many options I couldn't decide what to have so we had a few different options. Great food. Vegetarian Donner kebab is delicious and very filling. Gave it to some meat eaters to try it who say it tastes like the real thing. Also a fan of the bucket and the pizzas. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Always had fantastic service from this place, fast and friendly! Tried pizzas and burgers from here. Whole family love it. Food arrives hot (burgers steaming and chips as hit as you can expect chips to be as they always get cold quickly). Absolitely love that we can get 'meaty' take out from this place, just waiting now (have asked) that they can make milkshakes from non dairy as well as I really miss milkshakes!

Have been getting food delivered from here since it opened. As a family of vegetarians and vegans the choice is amazing. Food is always lovely and is delivered quickly by friendly drivers. Today, as my daughter and partner were visiting to have lunch in the garden we placed an order of pizza, kebabs, wraps, burgers and sides. We ordered online. As usual the food arrived quickly and everything was delicious.

We have been using Veggie Master since it opened. I am vegan and my partner is vegetarian. It has the best vegan fast food for both of our requirements. We especially like the kebabs and i also like the vegan fish and chips. We have tried all the food on the menu and have been very happy with our orders and deliveries. We have never had a bad order yet. We will continue to order from Veggie master, they are the best!

We have ordered from Veggie master a few times now, I am vegan and the choice for me on the menu is brilliant, the web site is easy to use, food is excellent, always hot and nicely cooked, good value for money, there is frequently offers on and the delivery driver is always lovely. My family who order with me are meat eaters but also thoroughly enjoy the food. Last time I ordered I had the vegan fish burger which came with salad, vegan Mayo, a lovely sesame seeded bun, chips and a drink for £5.75 great value! There are plenty of options for you to customise your orders and so far when we have done this our orders have always been correct. Keep up the great work veggie master

Me and my family ordered a takeaway from here last summer, unfortunately I haven’t got a good word to say about them after the experience we had collecting our food. Our experience was let down by the behaviour of one of their chefs, whilst we were waiting we overheard a conversation between him and some of his mates that had just arrived, to my disgust he was discussing how he was planning to spit in one of his mates burgers, his other mates took amusement to this and stood there goading him whilst me and my mum felt physically sick knowing this same chef was preparing our food but at the same time both feeling very awkward on what we should do. When our food was handed over we headed back to the car and both talked over what we had both experienced, this was not the sort of behaviour we expect in a takeaway, whether it’s a joke or not, it’s disgusting and extremely unprofessional. Once home as you’ll see from the photos the food went straight in the bin. Annoyed by how much we had wasted I phoned their main office that appeared to be a takeaway in the West Midlands, I was able to speak to the manager, but his opinion was it was likely just a joke and we shouldn’t take it too seriously. My advise is to avoid this place, it may well have been a joke but with the chef so openly discussing it in front of customers, I’d say there’s a good chance he’s immature and vile enough to actually do it!

Normally a really good experience. However, This time it was really poor. None of the food was warm, over filled the burgers with salad and. It enough veggie meat filling. Parts of our food also seemed undercooked. Enough to have put us off which is unfortunate with it being the only veggie place worth going to in Derby.

Great food! And lovely driver! Tonight was my first time ordering from here and unfortunately they messed up the order but they were so quick to deliver the missing item and it was all super tasty!

This is a great place for vegetarians in Derby and, after trying on a couple occasions we have found the food to be of great quality, with friendly staff and also timely delivery. Overall a very good choice for vegetarians and Vegans in Derby. Well done and congrats to the ownership for setting such a place up. I would 100% recommend to vegetarians. The paneer tikka wrap, and vegi kebab wrap in particular are very nice!

Delicious vegetarian fast food! We’re a vegetarian family and we all Thought it was super good! After years of having no choice we were spoilt for it! Doner kebab was gorgeous (naan lovely and fluffy) Chicken drumsticks were tasty as was the chicken burger. All fabulous and friendly delivery. Thank you very much!

Its a good takeaway offering nice vegan options, its got great vegan junk food that really does taste great. Id like to see a less confusing layout in the menu for offers on vegan options. Also i would like to see no polystyrene/plastic bags used, i think allround cardboard packaging and paper bags would be more appropriate, id feel better ordering more often this way. Us vegans love to see more sustainable packaging used when we spend our money. As it stands for vegan take away its certainly one of the top options for this style of food offered in the area but the polystyrene/plastic does hurt me a little.

Really disappointing meal for what they charge. £7 for a Veggie Master Special but the portion size is ridiculously small. The charge for chips is close to £3 too. I’d recommend you buy from elsewhere if you want value for money.

Good food but only problem with them they don't follow your request. I ordered pasta for my 4years old and requested twice not to make it spicy but still it was spicy. For grown-up I will definitely recommend very tasty food and very fresh too.

Amazing! Can't fault anything. Most of the food is more expensive than the meat alternatives but veggie/vegan meat substitutes aren't cheap, so it's understandable. The tandoori kebab is delicious. Also loved the southern fried veggie chicken and piri fries... So glad we found u! :)

Having just tasted Veggie Master's food for the first time, I cannot compliment them enough! The meal I ordered was freshly prepared, beautifully cooked and the portions more than ample. Delicious!!

Ordered the Vegan Master Burger + vegan cheese and mushroom pizza with stuffed crust Yes that's correct they DO vegan stuffed crust. ( highly recommended ) First time users here. The food tasted wonderful and was ready very quickly! The menu could be a little more detailed but when we called to ask about the menu the gentleman was very polite and informative and left us feeling very confident of what we were ordering and that it was vegan suitable. They have definately gained two regular customers as we are eager to return! Thank you Veggie Master :)

Very good vegetarian / vegan food

I had originally posted this as 4 out of 5 stars, but since a huge confusion with my order and a back and forth on the ohone i have completely dropped it. Either the food we ordered was wrong twice tonight, or the food that weve ordered every time before tonight has been wrong which i think is awful either way. The saving grace was the lad called sam who answered the phone who was very polite.

We have ordered from Veggie Master probably at least 20 times since we heard about it. We absolutely love the food and there has not been a single thing that we have tried that we didn't like. They are fairly quick and accurate on how long delivery will take. After ordering food from other places and sometimes waiting over two hours for it to arrive, Veggie Master is my go to when I'm hungry because I know I will get the food in the time they tell me it will take. The delivery drivers also are always friendly and polite. I could order food from here every day! I'm so glad this place exists. :D

The veggie kebab is very expensive and not worth it but the veggie fried chicken is really good,overall better than average junk food.

There are no words! Me and my family absolutely adore the food because it is simply DELICIOUS!!! The customer service and delivery is outstanding too! When my food was delivered to me, it was piping hot (just how takeaway food is supposed to be). The service at the door was warm too and i even got a lovely "enjoy your food :)" message on my veggie noodles. Couldn't ask for anything better! Thank you and keep it up !!! :)

Was absolutely stoked when I saw this place, Vegan takeaway in Derby is the dream and was sooo hoping the food lived up to the amazing menu options and wow it soooo did. Absolutely amazing food, so tasty and flavoursome, we had the chicken style drumsticks, chicken style tikka kebab And peri fries & all was absolutely gorgeous, deffo ordering again to try the pizzas and other bits 🤤☺️

I'm struggling to see how there are people in the reviews leaving 1 star. Seriously, you can't please some people. I think this is the best takeaway style place I've ever been too. I came in earlier on today. The food is banging. Portions really decent too. The food is all vegi/vegan which is an enormous positive and something we should all be endeavouring to eat more of. Can't rate it highly enough. Very friendly staff also. Thankyou so much. We will be back for sure! Keep it up!
