Llegamos a las 9:30 y nos dijeron que habían dejado de servir a pesar de que cerraron a las 11. 30 . Totalmente inaceptable.

¡Un ambiente increíble! Milena era increíble y ella realmente nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. Ella anticipó nuestras necesidades incluso antes de tener que preguntar y proporcionó excelentes recomendaciones del menú. Gracias.

Nos reunimos con algunos amigos para una visita de 1 calle aquí. Bastante tranquilo para un viernes a la hora del almuerzo, pero el servicio era eficiente y amable con el personal. 3 de cada 4 de nosotros realmente disfrutamos de nuestras comidas, pero todos comentamos sobre la elección de 4a persona de 'carbonara' que parecía y aparentemente sabía muy seco! He oído que es un gran lugar para estar de una noche los fines de semana, así que sin duda intentaré visitar de nuevo.

Tuvimos una comida encantadora. Comimos afuera. Un gran ambiente y muy ocupado. Alex y Milena nos sirvieron y eran muy informativos de las bebidas y menú de comida. Definitivamente iré de nuevo!

Tuvimos una gran visita el viernes por la noche. El vino y los cócteles eran geniales. El camarero Cristian era muy servicial y conocedor de sus bebidas.

The food was lovely - I had arrabiata and it could have been a little spicier for my taste, but lovely nonetheless. Lucy, our waitress was amazing - very friendly and very helpful

We had a wonderful lunch here today, with the best chicken salad I've had in a long time. We were met at the door with an offer of a wine tasting (how could we resist?) And, once we were seated, served by the welcoming and friendly Lucy, who brought us our drinks and food very promptly. Definitely recommend and we'll be back.

We had the Sicilian wine tasting experience. Absolutely loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

I met friends here for lunch on Friday. The service was friendly, helpful and not rushed. The food was tasty and menu extensive with a choice of pasta, salad, pizza and small dishes. I would happily return.

Went in after a comedy show. Had the big charcuterie board. Everything was lovely, we didn't like blue cheese so they added extra of the other cheese. Wine and cocktails were fantastic. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a fab evening - myself and a group of friends. Great atmosphere and the drinks were lovely, great cocktails and wine. We were very well looked after by James, who was really professional and he and the team were friendly 😊 Lovely pizza and cheese board too - thanks James and team 😊

Nice atmosphere, good location, lovely wine and food …great staff! We had two servers ….’snow-boarder-guy’ (we didn’t get his name) …and Lucy. Both were personable, knowledgable and just generally helped add to the ‘feel-good’ vibe of the place.

The food was really nice, there is a disclaimer on the menu about food not coming out all together. But our food came out all together which was great. Service wasn't the best unfortunately, but I'm going to put it down to being a bit busy (probably due to the weather being great for once). But overall I thought it was good. Will be coming back.

Updating this review from five years ago to say that Veeno has maintained its quality across the board. The food is great, the wine is varied, and the staff are friendly. I honestly would pick this place over many others in Reading for a meal on my own or with a friend. Shout out to Ricardo and Michelle who served me this evening! Thank you!

They offer different type of wine tasting with pairings. The wine is not that big and mostly focus on Sicilian wine. I had a meat board and wine pair which was ok but not outstanding

Had a wonderful meal out with friends. The waitresses Lucy and Sian were friendly and professional throughout the evening. Will be back again soon.

A lovely spot for the most delcious food and wine. We booked the Sicilian wine experience and it was so interesting - Michelle did a wonderful job explaining wine and the food pairing and how it changed the flavour of the wine.

We recently had a lovely meal at Reading Veeno, the Pasta with Sea-bass was delicious and our servers, Sian and Lucy were welcoming and attentive, we didn’t feel rushed to leave the table. Would recommend to others

Great atmosphere for dinner with friends. The food was great. Sian and Lucy were really friendly and both had really genuine welcoming smiles. We had plenty of time to catch up and didn't feel rushed despite chatting long after we'd finished eating.

Fabulous evening in this very cool , sophisticated wine bar/ brassiere set in a beautiful leafy part of town, the outdoor terrace has a distinct European feel and the whole place is just a pleasure to visit from incredibly attentive and friendly team ( thank you server Lucy ) , to great choice and quality of food , class vibe and atmosphere - loved it - thanks again !

The place has got a nice atmosphere , but the food wasn't great. We ordered pizza, and unfortunately the crust was hard to chew, the toppings were nothing special. Desserts and drinks were very expensive.

Hosted by André. Booking for 19 covers with a set menu that required some last minute changes due to dietary requirements. On a very busy night this was taken on board and managed brilliantly. André looked after our group with a constant smile and really fun attitude which helped make the evening thoroughly enjoyable.

We booked an area of this restaurant for my hen party celebration earlier this month. Both Nadia and Bruna were excellent at answering my many questions over email beforehand and the area was set up nicely for when we arrived. We opted for afternoon tea for 16 of us and the food was fantastic - plenty of paninis, cured meats, cheeses and so many lovely desserts. We appreciated the little touches too - glasses of juice on the tables in addition to the tea, coffee and water. The staff were very attentive on the day, replacing bottles of Prosecco at our request. Couldn’t have faulted the afternoon, thank you so much!

We had a really nice time here and enjoyed our food and wine. Would recommend for a group of friends for a night out. Our witches fantastic and the drinks came out very quickly.

Enjoyed our evening in this bustling restaurant. Staff welcoming and our waitress Sian looked after us well. Loved the bruschetta and Falanghina vino!

Wine was lovely as was the food. It was just unfortunate that they had run out of our first choice for the wine, main, and dessert. Sian our waitress was lovely and made the night much more enjoyable.

We did the Trip to Sicily experience which was a birthday present. Delicious cheese and meat platter and tiramisu and lots of different wines including a dessert wine. We were very well looked after by Andre and Sian who explained the wines and got us trying them with different things to bring out different flavours. Definitely recommend.

I had the best Birthday meal at Veeno this evening. Alex was fab and very accommodating to my 9 year old son, chatting about pokemon. Wine amazing as always, as was the food

Came here as a party of 16 for a work meal. Really poor food, almost felt mass produced and super processed. Nice place to come for some drinks and light bites but would personally not recommend for dinner. Dissapointing.

It is one of the best restaurants in reading. Nice vibes and food. We have been served by Alexis. He is so sweet, friendly and professional

Alexis has been a start for our evening he recommended us the wine and we finished the night with a warm shot of tequila to go home on the best possible way. We had pomodoro bruschetta as starter and it was very tasty. Thank you for a good night Alex and Veeno!

I had the pleasure of being served by Alrx during my recent visit to the restaurant. Alex warm greeting and attentive demeanour immediately set a positive tone for the meal. Throughout the evening, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a deep knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations!!

The food was great. We ordered the Italian style tapas, so we had a range of various dishes. Portions were decent, the presentation was great, and all full of flavour and well prepared. We had to go with a pizza too, just to try it, and this was also very nice and genuinely authentic. We were placed in a different area of the restaurant from everyone else for some reason, so this is the reason for the low score on the atmosphere. The service was pretty decent, but being in a separate area meant we were a touch overlooked on occasion. All in all, it was a very pleasant meal and we would no doubt visit again.

So pleased we have found this gem of a place for our "old friends" catch up every couple of months! Superb food and even better white wine, it is always a great night! And Sian is simply excellent - kind, gentle and funny, she always has a smile on her face! Cannot wait for our next visit!

First visit here to take my parents out for what I was hoping would be a special meal. Service was exceptionally slow and things like taking away starter plates before main is served wasn’t done. The waiter handed me my main plate as there was no space to put it down. Had to ask to be served for arrival drinks and ask for the bill twice. It felt like we were having to guide the waiter to do his job. Not a friendly service either. Food was average and was expecting better. Seemed to be a good atmosphere with people drinking. I’d only visit for drinks and not food.

We had a voucher for an Afternoon Tea. It wasn't as pictured on the Buy a Gift voucher. We had a beer and a glass of wine but the waiter added a service charge for the Tea to the bill. I asked for the SC...

The venue itself is lovely with a nice atmosphere however our food was really delayed with bread for the table taking nearly an hour to arrive and when the mains arrived (both ordering the Carbonara) it was barely warm and some of the driest pasta...

We came on Saturday (24 Feb) for my friend's birthday, for which he had booked an area. The service was good, the food we ordered was nice and the atmosphere was great, as it was quite busy which is usually a good sign. While we were well looked after by the waitress, I would like to stress that adding a service charge to every single bill (i.e, every time we ordered a drink or something to eat) is really bad and cheeky. We ordered quite a bit of food, a few bottles of wine, beers, etc at different times and were very unhappy about the extortionate service charge, which we noticed afterwards via receipts. This is poor and people should be allowed to have a tab or something and pay ONE service charge. Thanks.

Had an amazing time here on a fine wine tasting which I booked for my beautiful daughter’s birthday . We didn’t know what to expect , we had 2 hours of wine tasting . Our host was excellent explaining the flavours of the wine and mixing the flavours with the right food 🥘 can not recommend enough a real 5 star experience and a treat - will definitely be coming back

Came for the Italian afternoon tea on Valentine's Day. Food was very nice, had plenty of space for our pram which was appreciated and we were given a warm greeting. But sadly after the food came the service was close to nonexistent. Despite Andre the manager telling us he'd come back to check on us. We eventually had to walk up to the bar to ask for our hot drinks which came with the food. As a result, our lunch sitting took over 2 hours. Shame as we enjoyed the food.

The people and atmosphere is what can drive you there

My partner and I came to Veeno for the Italian Afternoon Tea and it was absolutely wonderful! A lot of places focus more on the sweet than the savoury but this was the perfect balance - delicious paninis and a charcuterie selection, a lovely scone...

I booked them for my 30th birthday party. Do not book them for events for large people. The service was slow and condesending. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding so they were able to accomodate a few more people but altough the preordering was done weeks in advance, the pasta was bland and tasteless, the service took forever and they didn't make any effort to seat us in a more secluded area given how many people were there. We had only one waiter for 4-5 tables and I (as the birthday girl) had to run after waiters to make sure they go to take drinks orders and my friend had to ask the waitress many times to clear the tables before adding more food. They also seated us in uncomortable high chairs and it was hard to eat and enjoy the food. I wouldn't book them again for any large parties.

I will start only with one name Apo . Lovely manager who is take caring of every single guest in the restaurant. Marking you to feel special and giving 1000% of him to makes you to enjoying your time there. Highly recommend

A beautiful and atmospheric place. Went for the afternoon tea, it was delicious and plenty for the two of us to enjoy. Our server Michelle just added to the friendly vibe, but really the food and wine speak for themselves - a must try.
