Had a good night out at Veeno's, Reading on 5 April. Good food & wine. Michelle made the evening with her excellent customer service, polite & friendly. She instinctively knew what we wanted without us having to ask.

Really good food and Sian was a very attentive and friendly server. Had a really good experience and will certainly be back, if for nothing else but the lemon cake 🤤

Lovely afternoon tea, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. A huge thank you as always to Andre for going above and beyond. Service at Veeno is always brilliant and staff are very attentive.

Enjoyed our evening in this bustling restaurant. Staff welcoming and our waitress Sian looked after us well. Loved the bruschetta and Falanghina vino!

Wine was lovely as was the food. It was just unfortunate that they had run out of our first choice for the wine, main, and dessert. Sian our waitress was lovely and made the night much more enjoyable.

We had a fantastic afternoon with our Virgin Experience - Michelle was so knowledgeable and personable, we loved trying all of the wine and food pairings. Thank you!

We did the Trip to Sicily experience which was a birthday present. Delicious cheese and meat platter and tiramisu and lots of different wines including a dessert wine. We were very well looked after by Andre and Sian who explained the wines and got us trying them with different things to bring out different flavours. Definitely recommend.

I had the best Birthday meal at Veeno this evening. Alex was fab and very accommodating to my 9 year old son, chatting about pokemon. Wine amazing as always, as was the food

Came here as a party of 16 for a work meal. Really poor food, almost felt mass produced and super processed. Nice place to come for some drinks and light bites but would personally not recommend for dinner. Dissapointing.

The food was great. We ordered the Italian style tapas, so we had a range of various dishes. Portions were decent, the presentation was great, and all full of flavour and well prepared. We had to go with a pizza too, just to try it, and this was also very nice and genuinely authentic. We were placed in a different area of the restaurant from everyone else for some reason, so this is the reason for the low score on the atmosphere. The service was pretty decent, but being in a separate area meant we were a touch overlooked on occasion. All in all, it was a very pleasant meal and we would no doubt visit again.

I had the pleasure of being served by Alrx during my recent visit to the restaurant. Alex warm greeting and attentive demeanour immediately set a positive tone for the meal. Throughout the evening, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a deep knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations!!

So pleased we have found this gem of a place for our "old friends" catch up every couple of months! Superb food and even better white wine, it is always a great night! And Sian is simply excellent - kind, gentle and funny, she always has a smile on her face! Cannot wait for our next visit!

First visit here to take my parents out for what I was hoping would be a special meal. Service was exceptionally slow and things like taking away starter plates before main is served wasn’t done. The waiter handed me my main plate as there was no space to put it down. Had to ask to be served for arrival drinks and ask for the bill twice. It felt like we were having to guide the waiter to do his job. Not a friendly service either. Food was average and was expecting better. Seemed to be a good atmosphere with people drinking. I’d only visit for drinks and not food.

Alexis has been a start for our evening he recommended us the wine and we finished the night with a warm shot of tequila to go home on the best possible way. We had pomodoro bruschetta as starter and it was very tasty. Thank you for a good night Alex and Veeno!

The venue itself is lovely with a nice atmosphere however our food was really delayed with bread for the table taking nearly an hour to arrive and when the mains arrived (both ordering the Carbonara) it was barely warm and some of the driest pasta...

We came on Saturday (24 Feb) for my friend's birthday, for which he had booked an area. The service was good, the food we ordered was nice and the atmosphere was great, as it was quite busy which is usually a good sign. While we were well looked after by the waitress, I would like to stress that adding a service charge to every single bill (i.e, every time we ordered a drink or something to eat) is really bad and cheeky. We ordered quite a bit of food, a few bottles of wine, beers, etc at different times and were very unhappy about the extortionate service charge, which we noticed afterwards via receipts. This is poor and people should be allowed to have a tab or something and pay ONE service charge. Thanks.

Sian was amazing today. So friendly and polite. It was a lovely having lunch with mum today. Delicious pizza and bubbles.

Came for the Italian afternoon tea on Valentine's Day. Food was very nice, had plenty of space for our pram which was appreciated and we were given a warm greeting. But sadly after the food came the service was close to nonexistent. Despite Andre the manager telling us he'd come back to check on us. We eventually had to walk up to the bar to ask for our hot drinks which came with the food. As a result, our lunch sitting took over 2 hours. Shame as we enjoyed the food.

Had an amazing time here on a fine wine tasting which I booked for my beautiful daughter’s birthday . We didn’t know what to expect , we had 2 hours of wine tasting . Our host was excellent explaining the flavours of the wine and mixing the flavours with the right food 🥘 can not recommend enough a real 5 star experience and a treat - will definitely be coming back

The people and atmosphere is what can drive you there

Italian afternoon tea was so beautiful, so delicious. Sian has looked after us with grace and professionalism. Amazing alternative to your typical afternoon tea with sandwiches and scones 😏

I booked them for my 30th birthday party. Do not book them for events for large people. The service was slow and condesending. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding so they were able to accomodate a few more people but altough the preordering was done weeks in advance, the pasta was bland and tasteless, the service took forever and they didn't make any effort to seat us in a more secluded area given how many people were there. We had only one waiter for 4-5 tables and I (as the birthday girl) had to run after waiters to make sure they go to take drinks orders and my friend had to ask the waitress many times to clear the tables before adding more food. They also seated us in uncomortable high chairs and it was hard to eat and enjoy the food. I wouldn't book them again for any large parties.

My partner and I came to Veeno for the Italian Afternoon Tea and it was absolutely wonderful! A lot of places focus more on the sweet than the savoury but this was the perfect balance - delicious paninis and a charcuterie selection, a lovely scone...

I will start only with one name Apo . Lovely manager who is take caring of every single guest in the restaurant. Marking you to feel special and giving 1000% of him to makes you to enjoying your time there. Highly recommend

A beautiful and atmospheric place. Went for the afternoon tea, it was delicious and plenty for the two of us to enjoy. Our server Michelle just added to the friendly vibe, but really the food and wine speak for themselves - a must try.

Came for my brother’s 21st and the service here is so great! Alex and Sian were so attentive and friendly and made us feel really welcomed and relaxed. Food was good. Tiramisu wasn’t 10/10 but the rest was really yum. The cheese and meat boards were great. They even gave us all a Limoncello shot for the birthday celebrations

I’m annoyed that I have to give this rating because this could be a lovely place - nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food - but both times I’ve been here the food has taken close to an hour to arrive, which is absolutely ridiculous for a cheese and meat board which requires no cooking! I’m willing to give it one more try and if the food takes that long again then I’ll write it off completely. Such a shame!

I would love to give this place a better review because the food is really nice, the staff are lovely and well coordinated and the atmosphere is great. However this is not a good place for someone who is a coealiac, even though the place advertises they offer gluten-free pizza - my friend called in advance to check whether gluten-free option was definitely an option, to which she got confirmation. However when we sat down and ordered our waiter said they were too busy to be able to ensure they could cater for coeliacs... maybe they should make clearer on their website and over the phone that gluten-free options are available only if they aren't busy...!

Afternoon tea was a great experience

Had a wine tasting experience which was fantastic and led by a very knowledgeable man. The wines were lovely and the antipasto platters were delicious. Great evening all round.

Very busy when we went on a Saturday evening, but the service was still great and the atmosphere was buzzing. The wine was reasonable and really lovely, with staff who knew their stuff but we're relaxed about it - a real art! You can even buy the bottles when you leave to take home which was great!

I have attended a Greek live music event. It was absolutely amazing, beautiful venue, great service and of course food and drinks. Definitely would recommend to visit.

We tried to have a drink on a Saturday evening, the manager Michelle was extremely rude, a very kind couple offered us to share their table and she very rudely told us that we couldn’t sit there in front of a lot of other customers. She told us to sit at the back on a table full of leaves , we asked to sit on another empty table but Michelle said it was a private area and we couldn’t sit their either, she then was laughing and pointing for us to leave. Would not recommend this venue to anyone.

Went for a 'wine & cheese' experience. Went on a Saturday, 15:30, not busy at all. We were seated and the waiter asked about alergies and dietary needs. I had the vegan option (top of pic) and it was simple bt very tasty: bruscheta with basil and cherry tomatoes, olives, almond cheese, salad, artichoke and dried tomato antipasti, plus nibbles and additional bread basket. I was then served with four types of wines placed on a paper mat with information on them. The experience was great but not worth £40 pp (purchased from a gift website). There was not enough information and depth to differ it from just having wine and platter on any other place; mat could have provided more info about the grapes and process of making the wines, how to smell and appreciate them. Maybe a Veeno app in future?? Also, nothing sweet on the menu.
