I always drive past this place so many times and wanted to try it, I ordered it the other day. I ordered three curries and it took 2 hours to deliver three streets away (I could have gone and got it myself). I had to ring twice to see where the order was. I was told waiting for the driver and the 2nd call, I was told the driver just got back and would give me 30% off the next order, I told them I would never order again. Food finally came and the curries were all not to my liking all tasted weird so waste of time and money. Also the 30% off came on top lid saying 30% off Hyde not being funny anybody could write that and claim it.

A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND DRINK WITH FRENDS. IT'S ALSO A VERY WELCOMING RESTAURANT.

I have been going to Veggie Vedic for many years, our beloved restaurant that I would travel many miles to every few months. I brought my parents and friends on many occasions because as I couldn't wait to share the beautiful welcome of the owners and have them taste their amazing cooking skills. I got to know the owners and I valued their efforts and warm welcome we would always receive. So why not go for Christmas day I thought? I'll bring my family and introduce another friend to Vedic, share a beautiful home cooked meal supporting our favourite independent restaurant. Little did I know this decision turned out be a mistake. I booked the reservation a month in advance receiving confirmation. 2 days before Christmas I received a call from vedic explaining a large party had recently booked so could I arrive earlier? I explained I couldn't arrive earlier is that ok? they said "no problem come down." Christmas day, we arrive on time for our reservation. We were greeted by a waitress with a very sturn and stressed face who took our starter orders and pushed for our mains. I explained I would like to order the starters first without being rushed as I had travelled some distance and don't want to rush our Christmas day meal. Shortly after the starters arrives a familiar waitress approaches (apologies I have forgotten her name, she is the wife of owner Rahul) explaining that a large party will be arriving shortly so could we please hurry, I kindly explained that we will not be rushing, it's Christmas day, we booked in advance and their lack of organisation skills are not my problem. She replies "ok" then leaves. After finishing our mains Rahul's wife approaches again but this time informs us we cannot eat any mains in the restaurant, but if we place an order and take out they will give us free of charge. Can you imagine the frustration and shock of myself and family, on Christmas day being chucked out having been given this unfair ultimatum. In essence, Vedic received a large booking after other customers had placed their booking (well in advance) and threw our their 'valued' customers (as they say on Facebook) because profit clearly matters more than any values they evidently don't have. We were penalised due to a lack of their organisational structure. I explained they had ruined our Christmas day and would not be returning to a place who values profit and lacks integrity. Sorry Vedic, very disappointed after seeing how you treat valued customers. Won't be returning.

A rare find on just eat. Indian food with loads of (clearly marked) vegan options, good portions, not too oily and very reasonable prices. Delivery service was spot on too. Our new favourite for Indian take away Update Jan2024: delivery has been very slow lately (last 3 orders), today was over 2 hours, and there are no delivery updates (on Deliveroo) because they handle their own deliveries. Bear that in mind and order early!

This place is awesome. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Definitely get the Chaat Platter as a starter. We had a few dishes (group of 4) and we loved them all. Super reasonable prices too.

Really lovely fresh food. Portion sizes are generous too and the food was still boiling hot on arrival. The last 2 times we have ordered however it has taken close to 2 hours to deliver.

It was lovely all round. We had dosa, Punjabi samosas, matar paneer and a black bean dhar. Everything was delicious. Lovely lady running the place too

Starters were better, main curries very not good at all, I wish I could teach the chef how to use masala for curries. (Sorry to say) I had to look for alternatives to feed myself in home and two carries gone waste But not worth for the price at all These high google reviews not doing justice for the very average curries

Fantastic range of starters and main courses for all tastes, from mild curries to extra spicy ones. You won’t miss the fact they don’t have meat in. The in restaurant service is excellent. Not the cheapest, but you are paying for quality of ingredients and presentation. Highly recommended for vegetarians, vegans and those wanting to try something different.

I am not vegetarian nor Vegan, but I tend to eat more vegetarian options (personal preference). This place has blown my mind, I am glad i've tried it. The food is incredible and I've only ordered takeaway (twice) so far! I'm looking forward to visiting the restaurant! Highly recommend trying any of the Puri dishes!

I feel bad. Ordered at 9pm, rang up at 10:10pm and 10:30pm and had a little whinge because the food hadn't arrived. It was worth the wait. Amazing food. I'll definitely be ordering again, oh and if the person I spoke to on the phone reads this. I'm sorry.

Our first of many times in Vedic Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurant and we couldn’t recommend it enough! An amazing and extensive vegan menu with amazingly delicious options. This was topped by a very attentive and helpful service!

Hidden gem. Great service and a great price for fresh vegan/vegetarian food! Large poppadoms and a choice of starter dish - then unlimited buffer of at least 12 choices!! Really like their fresh made green chutney...think its green chilli...ALOT of vegan choices and tofus in different curries 😋Mango tofu curry, mung bean dahl is my fav - etc the spice/taste is delicious with a variety! All for just £17.00 - esp for the range of choices and freshness of spice, is well worth it! Free parking on Sundays at Clarendon Parking SK14 2EL. They were so generous and let us try the other starter too.

fab food something different not usual curries. the coconut patties were amazing as were the tandoori mushrooms. also tried coriander naan. a good choice.

Enjoyed a great take away from here last night. Great to have a vegan joint in Hyde. The food did take longer to arrive than we had expected though, and it would have been nice to have been called up to explain the delay.

Sadly disappointed with vedic. May have just caught them on a bad day as we have ate at most of the places they have run over the years and enjoyed the food and we atmosphere they have created. Felt the food wasn't freshly cooked, had a reheated dryness, the quality of the veg was poor perhaps frozen? Sauces too thick and salty. Sorry to report negatively. Hope it picks up.

We came here for the first time and were absolutely blown away. The menu is really extensive with so so many options for every type of taste, so everyone can find something they like. The staff that served us were lovely, asking questions and giving suggestions on what to get and put in a lot of effort to make sure we had a fantastic meal- which we did! Mango lassi is gorgeous, my absolute favourite was the aubergine curry which was recommended to us. The flavours are really unique and unlike anything I’ve tried before and the portions are very healthy sizes. I would eat here every day if I could.

First time ordering as takeaway. Absolutely gorgeous food. Ordered a Kadai Paneer which was one of the nicest curries I've ever had. Not too hot, delicate and flavoursome. My husband ordered a Chilli mushroom dish which was too hot for me but he loved it. Will certainly be ordering again.

Have been ordering from Vedic for a few years now and previously the food has been amazing, good price and very quick delivery (30mins). Recently, we have noticed the prices have gone very expensive (£10 for 1 curry alone?!), but worst of all is the delivery! The website says delivery in 1 hour, the past few times, after the hour, we have had to phone to see where our food is, but we put up with 1hr+ delivery because the food was nice. Unfortunately, the quality of food is now slipping too. Our last order took 1 hour 50 mins to arrive and the food was cold (we had to microwave it), bland, naan bread tasted old and cheap and the onion bahjis were undercooked and complete mush in the middle, they went in the bin. Inedible. Other times they have forgotten our dips and we have had rock hard naan bread. Vedic have now lost a regular customer. We definitely won't be ordering from them again.

I live in West Yorkshire but have travelled here twice to eat with my friend, so worth it. So many vegan options, I just wish it was closer!

Good : price is reasonable , portion is good. Chilli paneer is good Bad: the place is bit run down now with ripped seats. Service is poor as the staff doesnt know what food to recommend or what they consist of. Apart from chilli paneer rest of the food was below par. Papodum is served with ready made sauces. A bit disappointed overall after travelling that far!

Its taken 50 minutes to accept my order. I've rang the restaurant multiple times. They then accepted the order and have taken a payment of nearly £40. No food turned up and "datman" who they use for online payments cannot refund me due to the restaurant having the confirm the cancellation. Absolutely appalling. £40 down and a hungry family of 4. Will definitely not order again

Visited yesterday and was very disappointed with both the service and food. After the food arrived it certainly wasn't worth the wait, tofu wasn't drained prior to cooking so was mush. The veg was tasteless and only 1 out of 6 dishes was worth the money spent. Service in total took over 2 hours from entering the door. 25 minutes before drinks order was taken and no tables were cleaned (in the time we were there) but left dirty and other used instead. Really disappointed and pray this was just a blip as we had high hopes.

Really lovely homemade vegan South Indian food. Fresh breads, rice, curries and various paneer n tofu dishes. Sunday is most excellent value buffet!! Serves alcohol and does takeaway. Well worth the visit to Hyde.

Absolutely phenomenal food, everything was fresh and tasted healthy as well as flavourful. Really interesting and unusual dishes, lots of great vegan and gluten free choices. Delivered out to us in a remote area, quickly and everything still hot. Brilliant service and fantastic food.

Eaten twice at this restaurant. Had the all you can eat buffet on latest visit. Really good value and lovely food. My partner is a meat eater and has the usual negative attitude to vegan meals however even he had no complaints and enjoyed his meal!

I've just ordered from here for the first time this evening and the food is amazing. We bought some of the street food and a Tofu Padanda and we will definitely be ordering from here again.

Vedic has an excellent range of foods from various regions in India and some Indo-Chinese cuisine as well. With everything being vegetarian and most things being vegan, it's a great place to suit many diets. As for the food itself, the portion sizes are generous and the taste is quite authentic. It's not a restaurant that feels the need to dampen the flavours like so many other Indian restaurants and for this reason I keep going back. Definitely one of the best of it's kind in the area. This time (and a few times now) I dined in, but previously I've also had the takeaway which did not disappoint. My only criticism with regards to my most recent visit was that they were very short on staff and a lot of time was spent waiting around to be served. But I guess this was probably due to COVID. Not had this issue previously so don't let that put you off.

I'd say I get a takeaway from here at least fortnightly - it's that good. I can't have gluten, and there is plenty to choose from on the menu. Every single item is always brilliant, so tasty and well made. And another thing - the order is right every time. They've never got an order wrong in the last year since I started eating here. Its ok, nice starters especially the mushrooms, but the mains were a let down, pretty bland!

I've had food delivered from this restaurant a few times and I've always been very happy with the quality and flavour of their food. The customer service is excellent aswell, there was a slight mistake with our last order (a missing naan bread) however the staff handled it perfectly, sent our missing food out quickly and even sent us a complimentary Chana Massala along with it - which was delicious. I'd highly recommend the Mowhlighar Tofu - the sauce is creamy and delicious.

Was very excited about trying this Vegan Indian, couldn’t wait to sample the menu. So…what an absolute shame….We pre ordered, picked up on time, and then when we came to unpack the items we found two of the main dishes missing! We tried to phone them to sort this out and spent half an hour just trying to get through - it rang and rang and rang and no one answered (I noticed this when I went to collect the order - the phone rang and they simply ignored it!). Eventually, an hour later, we received our missing items. The food was mediocre, nothing special…what a shame. We won’t be ordering again. And to think we were going to go to the restaurant and have a meal there!!!!!..,think again..if the service was this bad for a take out I can only imagine how bad it would be for a restaurant sit-in! Again.,what a shame..we were so excited for this place and totally let down.

The food and presentation is excellent. The quality and portion sizes are excellent. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. This is one of the best Vegan/vegetarian Indian restaurants I have been to. The only negatives I would say were: The wait for food was very long, we waited around 20 minutes to get our drink and poppadoms. The wait for our starter was 30 minutes. The wait for our main meal was around another 40 minutes. The food was very spicy, we did ask for it to be made less spicy, but it still came out very spicy. The food was beautiful and the taste was very good (just too spicy). If the restaurant could improve their serving times and the spiciness of their food (upon request) then there would be no negatives. I would still return to this restaurant, hence the five star review. It just needs improvements/adjustments to the times of serving and the spiciness of the food. The staff, as I said, are very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent place for a pure vegetarian meal (or take away). Food was fresh and spices like home cooking (not overpowered with excessive preserving varieties).

Snapped just the starters which were onion bhajis, punjabi samosas and vegetable samosas. All were amazingly tasty. I had Kadai Paneer for mains with boiled rice, packed full of flavour. Such friendly and polite staff. Definitely worth another visit.

Our #1 takeaway. Nothing comes close for vegan food in the area. Absolutely delicious, flavoursome and interesting choices. We’re working our way through the menu and there’s not one thing I wouldn’t recommend so far.

I ordered from this restaurant as I was craving good vegetarian Indian food and their menu looked very interesting and promising, but I was terribly disappointed. The food tasted horrible. It was oily and spicy even though I asked specifically not to make it spicy as kids were going to be eating it. The chef still put chilli flakes on all the curries. Moreover, all the dishes looked exactly the same - all drowning in a red/ brown thick sauce lacking personality and distinct flavours of Indian cuisine. The flavours were so bad, we could barely eat and had to throw most of it away. I called the restaurant to provide feedback but they refused to accept it. Said the chilli was just a garnish and that they have been cooking this food for 4 years. I am very disappointed in the food and the service. There are far better restaurants and will never be ordering from here ever again.

We had a special family celebration and the birthday girl was vegan. We ordered a takeaway from here, which turned up very quickly and was piping hot. As meat eaters we ordered a variety of dishes to try and every one of them was so tasty! Can’t wait to order from here again as all the food was amazing - the tandoori mushrooms were my personal favourite but I loved all the dishes.

Absolutely gorgeous food, in fact it was the nicest take away we’ve ever had. We ordered a variety of starters and mains including: chilli paneer, cheese masala dosa, tandoori mushrooms and palak dhal with pilau rice. The portions were generous, the ingredients were all fresh and well cooked without the oil slicks you can often get in take away. The delivery was super quick too. We’ll definitely return!
