Purple Flame in Tameside

Decent place for both dine in and takeaway food at a good price and good fair portions. Love the king kebab enough for 2 it's pan fried in a masala sauce which adds to the flavour. Never had a bad meal and the staff are pleasant enough. Worth a visit.

Really nice food but order not complete, come without the chips. Curry was still lovely though and enjoyed but wanted the chips with it, obviously paid for what we didn't get too, checked my order and we have paid, no way to complain.

Quiet night at Purple Flame tonight but we had a lovely meal, king prawn vindaloo and a lamb begun gosht, very tasty food as always 👍

Placed an order it was hour and half cold and very kebab was too spicy not happy always have been with other orders and won’t be going back very disappointed

the medium sauce I ordered was sweet and red, not good and cheated, the chicken was not visible at all, very little for £11, absolutely no taste, I do not recommend it

The staff was great, offered me and my gf a new recipe and we got to be the first one to try it. It was delicious 😌I forgot the name of the dish but if you pop in and ask they will definitely guide you on the right path!

Ordered a takeaway asked for a refund after waiting nearly 3 hours . Was told the manager was out doing deliveries. Rang back same person answered told me he was the manager and he would refund the order. They called me later that day to apologise and send a refund 3 weeks later never received it. Delivery car had broken down my food was with him , I fully understand things happen but it took 2 additional hours and they said they brought the food straight from his car obviously it was freezing and definitely not food standards to eat.

Was so hungry so really appreciated the food being a few minutes early! Treated myself tonight to satisfy the cravings and the king kebab was absolutely spot on as always. Korma was lovely, too. Everything always freshly made and red hot, I especially like the naan bread it's always fresh and soft with lots of flavour... And full of MEGA amounts of filling so could easily be shared. Particularly enjoyed the lamb it was so tender and cooked to perfection proper lamb an not mutton like some other places) It was all very tasty as usual With everything Being exactly as it should be. Tikka is as delicious as it was years ago - still 100 percent chicken breast and marinaded properly. I've been eating from here for several years now and I never regret ordering from here - it is always worth it and the prices are still highly affordable, too. Whatever I can't eat I have for breakfast or the night after. You know when you can eat food two or even three days afterwards that is is a trustworthy n very good quality place with high standards and excellent food hygiene practices. I hope it continues to stay open as it is one of the Last remaining few handfuls of decent quality places to eat from. Everyone I know rates this place 5 stars n for good reason. Really happy thank you guys for making my night! I'm already looking forward to my next order. :)

I find the food excellent here, due to illness i ordered for delivery. The £16.20 charge included £2.00 delivery charge of which I’m fine with. The delivery driver took umbrage when I gave him a ten pound note two two pound coins two one pound coins, with the twenty pence being made up of 8 x 2p and 4x1p totalling £16.20. The driver quite arrogantly told me purple flame do not accept the legal currency of bronze coins! In future he would not accept them. I said no problem there won’t be a next time. Shame as I used this place quite a lot as a collection customer. Never again you rude arrogant man not for collection or delivery.

Absolutely terrible service,ordered a takeaway at 5.55 and at 8pm still not arrived so when I rang up I got told I’d gave them the wrong postcode which I’ve lived at for 30 years? For them to then say they’re cancelling the order,terrible service

So we decided to visit purple during a week night and as we got there the door to the seating area was closed so the gentleman opened it and we sat down. I’d tried there mixed kebab one night with the lads and it was amazing but unfortunately there curry’s aren’t. We had 2 balti dishes a jalfrezi and there signature balti dish. Got to say there were all the same colour and very bland in taste. Not one of them stood out from the other and the only reason it gets 2 stars was actually because of there tikka dinner which is really nice. Unfortunately won’t be visiting again and wouldn’t recommend.

The restaurant/takeaway used to be good when we first visited but recently the quality of this restaurant has fell drastically . From our experience if your interested in paneer shashlik then I would suggest staying far from it since it's mainly comprised of just onions and peppers rather than paneer which is the essence of the dish . The restaurant is a typical get what we serve and don't try to cater towards the customer which is not ideal in our eyes. This is not a Indian restaurant as displayed.We have visited numerous times and so we are able to know the decline in thier quality.

I went here today with my partner. I don't have much to say other than the food was absolutely beautiful and the service was 10/10. No issues whatsoever. Thanks a lot - I'll be coming back very soon. If you haven't been here, please try it.

Oh dear. We recently ordered from Purple Flame because we are new to Droylsden and thought we'd give our local Indian a go. We ordered chicken and lamb. Both were undercooked. You could not bite into the lamb. I'm truly disappointed.

Ordered King Flames Kabab after my daughter recommended Purple Flame & it was Amazing ! , My Wife had a chicken tikka Kabab on which was also very tasty , If the food this good am a regular , Roll on the weekend for the next one !

Hygiene rating of 1 now as of June 22...oh dear, well I think you need to improve this drastically and pop the improvement on your website before I will order again.

My friend recommended the kebabs here and thats the last time i take any recommendations from them! The donner meat was dry and rubbery and hard like its been sat for hours 🤢 the chips are absolutely vile

Another great meal. Garlic chicken is delicious, fairly hot, for me too many onions. Lovely with pilau rice and garlic nan. Tandoori mix mix with Rogan Josh sauce also very good. We hood to sit in when we can.

We had a lovely relaxed meal with great Indian food. The service was excellent and our small children were made very welcome. This is the best place in Droylsden.

Love the tandoori lamb chops from here. Normally have them with chips but opted for their garlic pilau rice this time and both were really nice. You can have a sauce (separately) with the lamb chops as well. Reasonably priced, too.

We have used twice for a takeaway whilst on lockdown. Both times food delivered early, plentiful and tasty. Will use again.

We ordered a delivery which took an hour and a half very disappointing cold food not worth the money ordered on Friday this week cannot sure if we'll be back usually excellent experience 😷😢

Have never been in the restaurant but have regular takeaways. Service always fantastic - to the extent sometimes (due to being a tech phobe!!) I have accidentally ordered twice and they telephone to ask which order I want!! Food is fantastic. Agree with all reviews around large portion sides I usually have a paneer shashlik starter (best I've ever had) and vegetarian side dish of either chich peas or tarka dhal along with the beautiful Asian salad and this does me for two meals at least!! The prawn starter is smaller (but given the price no arguments here) Delivery is good and fast and always on time or else notified of very slight delays and is always hot and fresh on arrival. Recommend for a lovely takeaway. I'll be ordering this weekend and going to give the Tandoori seafood a try!!! Yum!

We came here last night for a meal and I have to say the food was superb, and great value for money. Also the service was spot on. You take your own alcoholic drinks which saves you a fortune anyway, some of us had starters which were very generous portions as were the main courses,soft drinks are available in there, I can't recommend this place enough!!!!

I came here with my family on Christmas Eve for the first time after hearing so many positive things. The restaurant is small but big on service, quality and value. For £15 I had poppadoms and chutneys, mixed starter, mixed tandoori shaslik with rice and naan bread followed by ice cream. The food was absolutely delicious, very generous portions and the waiter Icky was very friendly and funny. You take your own alcohol with you so it really is amazing value. We will be back again very soon!

Best curry (restaurant ) around.. staff soooo friendly. Lots of regular customers, who give you hints and tips on what curry’s to get. Very reasonable prices. And an added bonus YOU CAN TAKE YOUR OWN BOOZE....

This is my first time here and I wasn't disappointed.....nicely laid out with very helpful members of staff on hand.My had been here before, so he knew the ropes *** The portions for the meal were bigger than expected, which was an added bonus and made the meal more enjoyable........definitely worth more visits and if you are in the area don't miss it.

Not eaten in the restaurant however do have take away regularly. Good choice reasonably priced. Good service. There is no bar in the restaurant you can bring your own

Never again. Tried it twice after recommendations. Both times all the currys we ordered were terrible as well as the orders being wrong after waiting for more than an hour. Would not recommend it to anybody.

Probably the best curry I've had in the last 10 years.

Dissapointing. Ordered a “large” chicken tikka kebab and waited an hour and 10 minutes for it to be delivered. Despite paying extra for a large one to share, it was a small naan with hardly any chicken. I rang and complained and was told the size of the naan doesn’t change, just how much chicken they add changes. Absolute robbery, I’d hate to see what a normal sized one looks like. Shame because it was actually nice but when you order something large that’s what you expect. You don’t want to wait that long to still be hungry after you’ve finished 👎🏼

Takeaway order - the starter was nice however the main (curry) was very watery and it didn’t taste great. They also got my order wrong by giving me the wrong naan bread and rice! Won’t be ordering from them again!

Been the last 2 weeks now. Definitely the best in droylsden atm. They are very busy so order early, but its worth the wait.

Yuck! Worst kebab ever. I have no idea what that meat was. It was tastless and had a horrible rubbery texture. We both couldn't eat it and threw the whole thing straight in the bin. I wouldn't even give it to a dog. What a waste of money!

We recently tried this for the first time and loved it. Looks like a take away only from the outside but actually half of it is a really nice restaurant. Small yes but nice. Food was gorgeous and they even do 5 courses for £12 which includes everything bar the king prawn starter. We booked for a second time but had to cancel on the day due to awful weather so got a take away instead and wasn’t disappointed at all. Oh and you can take your own alcohol

Waiter was fantastic considering he was on his own serving a party of 20 for my daughter's 18th. Food wasn't up to scratch, 2 people both received chicken which still had blood in so here's hoping they don't get food poisoning. But I once again hail the poor waiter who was on his own to deal with all that.

When it comes to a fresh, tasty & exciting Curry experience I would recommend Purple Flame. Excellent service from all involved from the manager to the order takers to the cook to the delivery driver the service they provide is water tight. The starters and mains are beautiful and will return again and again

Ordered via their app very easy to use and given a time for delivery. Food was excellent. Five of us had different meals & everything was tasty & fresh. Have had quite a few deliveries now & has been consistently good.

Just ordered a double pepperoni and chicken tikka pizza from here with a garlic and tomato base can actually say it's the best pizza I've ever had! Definitely will be re-ordering 🖒

We ate here with friends. I would advise booking as the restaurant is quite small. It is unlicensed so you take your own drinks which makes it a great place for a cheap meal. It is also very clean.

I called in for a take-away, as I was visiting friends in area. I ordered a couple of starters & a main course, it was delicious. The chicken chat starter was soooooo tasty. I am still drooling. I even ordered a take-away for delivery the next evening as it was so good. The Lamb rogan josh was so very tasty. This is a must if I am up there again :)

Great food from here, Food is tasty, clean and well presented. Inside seating for dining is very cosy and nicely set out very welcoming. Staff are efficient and serve you quickly. I love eating here, I do enjoy ameri murgh off their signature dish menu.

Heavy rain, thunder and lightening couldn't keep us away, and may I say the effort was rewarded. The food was excellent, as always. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal here. Our waiter was the owners son, and he was completely charming. A credit to the business! While there are standards like this locally, who needs to go onto town. Thoroughly satisfied!

We decided to go here for my friend's birthday curry, after reading positive reviews, and were so glad we did as the food was amazing!! There were six of us and everyone's food was outstanding. We all said we'd DEF return. The fact that you can take your own alcohol is an added bonus too! The place is spotless and the staff and friendly. I can see this becoming our favourite place for a curry!

First of all the delivery driver went to the wrong address, so went back to the restaurant. Food eventually arrived cold with popadoms to compensate for the delay. Chicken tikka starter was dry and very tough and unable to chew. The chicken steak meal wasn't that bad but only got 4 pieces of small chicken for 8 pound. The lamb chop meal was very poor, the lamb was very fatty. I would avoid this restaurant and won't be going there in the future.
