My experience at Quayside Bar and Kitchen in Weymouth was not just disappointing due to the food, but also because of the poor customer service. I ordered the mushroom and spinach penne, which was absolutely flavorless with a sauce that was more like running water. When I raised my concerns with the manager, I was met with a dismissive attitude. She brought the dish back to my table, stating that no one had ever complained before, as if that invalidated my experience. The lack of concern for customer satisfaction was quite off-putting. A simple acknowledgment of the issue and a willingness to make it right would have gone a long way, but instead, I was made to feel as though my complaint was unwarranted. It's a real shame, as I was hoping for a pleasant dining experience, but both the food and service left much to be desired. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place.

Visiting for the day, sun was shining and decided a lunch in the sun was calling. First time visit , great food , can recommend mussels and fries as well as the fresh crab salad. Efficient service and friendly staff. Will definitely return when next in Weymouth.

My third visit here however they Excelled again. It really was a dreadfully rainy day however our table for 12 was ready and all staff very accommodating. Food delicious as was my lovely beer. Be back soon 😊

Poor food, bland, the prawn and crab linguine was poor and overpriced, never worth the £38 we paid for it. Like a lot of meals prepared on a busy day is rushed out with little care for quality, won't be returning!!

Very poor frozen fish portion in fish and chips meal, grey and sloppy fish. Mussels some were cold and average taste. Disappointed

We ate outside (self service, aggressive seagulls) and got very nice sea bass and scallops, but unfortunately our smoked salmon pasta turned out to be extremely salty, almost inedible. When we complained about the salty dish, the answer from the kitchen was: ”We don’t put any salt in there, the pasta comes that way”🙈.

We were very impressed by the food and the service. For starters we had fried halloumi, baked camembert and scallops. For mains we had cheeseburger, mussels and fish pie. All were really good. The camembert came with plentiful supply of toasted baguette slices. The scallops had a really tasty sauce. The fish pie was tasty and covered in melted cheese. The bowl of mussels was very full. Constructive feedback: both the scallops and the mussels would benefit from a few slices of the bread to mop up the delicious sauce. That is probably how it would be served in France, for good reason. But otherwise an excellent meal and friendly staff. The cost overall for three people with three courses, plus drinks on arrival and a bottle of house wine was about £130 so not cheap but not overpriced for what it was, and we had a lovely evening at a slow pace and enjoyed the harbourside view.

Lovely setting right on the quayside shame the service and food let it down. Had to wait ages for our food, we had to ask to get plates from starters removed from our table. The male who brought the food to the table was rude. The food very disappointing, my husband ordered cod wrapped in parma ham, however they had run out of the ham , the meal was very poor value for money, there was no vegetables or salad just the cod and mash , very overpriced. My plaice was very bland and not cooked very well, I ordered a side salad which had no dressing and I was not offered any. Will not be visiting this place again sadly.

Very disappointed, I think they have lovely location on the Harbour, but the meal was awful. I opted for the specials board, monk fish tail with new potatoes, a very small piece of monk fish , a few new potatoes in a tasteless sauce £23!!!, the Mrs had mussels with fries, (I ate the fries, Starving). A few of the mussels weren’t open, and the liquid they were in was , well I don’t know, apart from some Thyme sprigs, watery and tasteless. No bread to mop up the liquid,(just as well really). We live here, so won’t be going back, but I suppose the holiday makers will fall for, once only I suspect.

Over priced! Smallest portioned of fish and chips ever! Served on slate. I get it but the presentation poor to be honest.

Wow what a fabulous experience at this lovely family run restaurant during recent stay in Weymouth, I have visited Weymouth many times and I’ve always enjoyed a meal or two each time at this lovely establishment during my visits. This time we went there for a couple of lunches and breakfast too, I have to say the food was outstanding! The staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you, can’t wait for my next visit in June for my birthday celebration that is already booked here!

Yes me and wife walked passed several times and found it to be a very nice place. Food was well made and plentiful even for a gluten free staff were warm helpful and friendly

The staff were lovely , and sitting by the window upstairs offers a pleasant view of the harbor. However, I wasn't impressed with my meal. It seemed rushed and lacked flavor. The portion of potatoes next to the fish was so small. I noticed that people who ordered a meal with chips received a larger portions of chips compared to those who chose other types of potatoes.

Impromptu Sunday lunch. Managed to find a table outside with the sun shining. The harbour is a gorgeous setting. We ordered the beef and monkfish. Both were delicious and great value for money.

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal and drinks. Despite being very busy on a Saturday night, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The fish dishes on the specials board were all lovely sounding. The monkfish Thai curry special I'd hoped for was sold out but I had a delicious fish pie instead, packed with king prawns - very tasty. My husband enjoyed his fish & chips. Great choice of gins! Beautiful setting by the harbour. Worth booking in advance on a weekend, I don't think we'd have got a table if we hadn't.

Stopped in for dinner last night whilst passing and very good it was, the guy behind the bar was friendly attentive and helpful, the atmosphere was nice, the food was lovely especially if you like fish as we do The fish Thai green curry is delicious We will visit again and recommend it

Yesterday we were looking for a place just to have a drink. Sat down and my husband got us a pint. Didn't think much of it it . Sun was shining. There was no signs of a party. A waitress kept on insisting for us to take what looked like an orange drink! I did say no thanks on 4 occasions. No one said it was a wedding reception.No reserved signs or any guest saying anything to us. Suddenly the manager came out and grabbed the drinks and was so rude to me that I purposely stole their drinks. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I have never been so upset. I would never have done that.. to anyone. Please don't bother sending a comment Mike. Never again! If your wife was spoken to like that you would have said something. By the Way the sip that I took was 🍊 soda water they were robbed of prosecco. And the decorations of a wedding was so poor. It didn't have any atmosphere. Thanks for the humiliation!!!

The first time that we went, it was good and the second time, it was terrible. They served up a much cheaper fish than we ordered then refused to correct their mistake, or to take it off the bill. The business is for sale as I dount that they have much repeat custom. We felt really ripped off.

Excellent food service and location. Really interesting specials menu especially if you like fish. Staff attentive and pleasant. Great night out.

Had a gorgeous meal here 8th Sept 2023 booked the day before. Scallops were to die for. It had been a very hot day and during our meal I fainted. The staff were excellent, manager called for an ambulance and asked if any drs in the restaurant. As luck had it two came down and were brilliant as were the couple next to our table who swapped with us on arriving as I was hot to be by an open window. Ambulance wasn't needed as came round. Really recommend this restaurant not only for the gorgeous food but the concern of the all the staff. Thanks to everyone

Phenomenally fresh seafood and great draft beer and cider on the harbor. Excellent. I thought I would have to have fish and chips and instead had a lovely and delicious lunch.

Beautiful seafood that was cooked perfectly. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Its not the cheapest place to eat but the quality of the fish and the desserts was well worth it. The staff was pleasant and helpful even though they was very busy. There was an annoying bar fly of a man at the bar who was intoxicated commenting on everyone's meal coming out, commenting on people choices of food etc and he was close to the mark with some of his comments especially about child looking like his ex partner but the bar guy was very professional in trying to divert his attention and reminding him of his behaviour etc. As people was commenting under thier breath at him. Its not the restaurants fault but if the man had not have left we would have asked to be moved as I could of throttled him! However, the lovely tasty well cooked food left a very positive impression and we will definitely return again before we go home. Well done 👏 team Quayside.

We visited this restaurant this week. The food and service was brilliant we couldn’t fault it. A good children’s menu and plenty of gluten free options. It is also in a stunning location at the harbour. Would recommend- thank you!!

We were here for drinks in June but ended up staying for dinner. My friend had previously had breakfast here on two occasions and said how nice it was. The service was very good even though it was very busy. Our waitress was fantastic fun. My friend had pasta and I had the cheeseboard as a main. It was huge and delicious. The atmosphere was brilliant. It was a lovely evening and will visit again when I am in Weymouth.

I think we have eaten at most places around the Harbour, with the exception of the French restaurant (on the must try list) . This is the best so far. The food was good and fairly priced by todays standards. Staff friendly and efficient. When choosing don’t forget the separate specials menu! It was busy when we went and I suspect things took a bit longer but certainly not an unreasonable length of time.

We'd spotted the specials board while walking past and there was a great selection of fresh fish on offer. Booked a table inside, but it was such a lovely evening we sat out . It was a great spot to sit and watch all the quayside action. We shared scallops to start and had sea bass and sea bream. The food was delish- generous portions perfectly cooked and the beer went down a treat too. Shame it isn't nearer home!

Went last year and the food was excellent. Visited Sept this year. My fish dish was ok but my partners the Sea bass with garlic butter mash was not. Fish was ok but served in an oily sloppy mash (terrible). There was a young lad who seemed to be doing most of the serving whilst other staff stood and chatted behind the bar.Anyway when he came to take the dish away I pointed out the mess and told him it was inedible. His response was "I'll tell the chef".That was it - no apology from anyone. Nobody came to see if we wanted deserts or coffee. Got fed up in the end and just asked for the bill - needless to say no tipIt annoys me that normally restaurants respond on tripadvisor that things should be pointed out at the time. Here we did just that but then got ignored.

We came down to Weymouth for my 60th birthday with family and friends. My wife had booked a table at the quayside for 8pm, they were running slightly late (10 mins) this was no problem as the staff were extremely polite and kept us informed that our large table was being prepared.Upon being shown to our upstairs overlooking the harbour table we were treated to a complimentary drink as a thank you for your patience (10 minutes doesn't take a lot of patience). Anyway on to the food, each and every starter and main meal was superb from scallops/whitebait,brie starters to lobster or steak mains all cooked to perfection. It was one of those occasions when everyone looks at your food and thinks "I wish I had that". The staff are a credit to the business, polite and courteous and always ready to answer any questions. Also a big thanks to the owner who showed us how to crack a lobster open without ending up with food on all over the floor.A great night out for food and drink, but also a great atmosphere.

Well just been for my weekly visit to you for the last time this year as you are now closing for a well earned break. Once again I had my spinach and mushroom Lasagne. Piping hot as usual, well presented by lovely well mannered staff. Thank-you all at quayside for making my weekly visits special. You all remember me and always greet me personally. I will be back when you reopen and will miss you all until that time. Thank-you for all my meals in 2021

Saturday 11th a visit was planned (in advance via telephone on 8/08/2021) however this did not seem the case with the RUDE staff employed by this “company”. After attending the bar area to notify the staff we were here for our reservation (6 people one disabled and one extremely elderly at 91!!!) we were rudely told by the “staff” that there was no booking after meticulously quizzing us the booking was still unfounded by all staff. We had proof of telephone call that was made but this was still ineffective to their capability of locating our booking. We were told at 1910PM that “we have no availability for you but you can sit outside” after explaining our disabled family member and elderly grandfather was present and it would not be appropriate this was highly insulting to be even told to sit at a table outdoors. They presented a “manager” who had no idea how to respond to a complaint and refused to give the name of the company owner however this has now been found via company house and a formal complaint will be made.

Thank you thank you thank you, we had a fabulous meal here, the food was amazing, they gave us a beautiful table and decorated it with decorations we had bought in. The staff were amazing, really friendly helpful and service was outstanding. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be going back.

Absolutely amazing! My family arranged for a 30th birthday meal for me when we came for our holiday to Weymouth. The staff were great about them bringing balloons and decorations.Shortly after we arrived, our drinks and food order was taken and came out quickly. The food was delicious! Everyone at the table enjoyed their starters and mains (including my 2.5 year old daughter!)After the meal, the staff came out with a cake (brought in by my family) and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to me.An amazing night with amazing food and staff! Can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Weymouth

My husband and I spent a lovely evening at The Quayside Bar & Kitchen last night. We were seated upstairs and if you are lucky enough to have a table by the window there are good views over the pretty Weymouth harbour with its fishing and sailing boats. The restaurant specialises in fish dishes and my hake was delicious. However the reason I have only given 4 instead of 5 stars is that my husband’s steak with his Surf’nTurf was not the best and unfortunately the chef was unable to accept a request for rare/medium/well done - his scallops and prawns however were superb.Full praise to all the staff - they were welcoming, helpful, professional and very efficient - they were a delight and nothing seemed to phase them on what was a very busy Bank Holiday. Full credit to them and to the management for employing a full quota of staff - unlike our experiences elsewhere where there aren’t enough staff and everyone is kept waiting.I would definitely recommend but would advise booking in advance - last night The Quayside was fully booked from 5.30 onwards.

Fantastic meal and service! Staff were really lovely. We had the salt and pepper prawns and the hake with pesto. Everything was delicious! My son had the fillet steak which was also really good. Would definitely return when back in weymouth. Make sure you book as it gets booked up!!

Wow!!!!!! This restaurant is outstanding. I regularly fine dine and I can honestly say this is one of the most exquisite meals I’ve had. Steaks cooked to perfection, the fish was beautiful, so fresh and tasty, nothing was too much trouble and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The views are awesome overlooking the harbour and I would highly recommend to all…whether it be a romantic dinner, a family meal or for a special occasion…trust me you will not be disappointed!!Tip - You’ll definitely need to book in advance, as they were super busy….but again this speaks volumes! Well worthy of this 5 star review. Highly recommend.

Another fantastic meal at the Quayside Bar & Kitchen. Staff excellent as always. We had booked for 4 but then two more friends wanted to join us and Quayside were able to accommodate this request with very short notice. Food was fantastic, my husband & I had the calamari starter to share and then he had the Hake on garlic mash, he thoroughly enjoyed the dish, I had the Sea bass with Pesto dressing which was amazing and we also shared a salad. Our friends had the Seafood Grill, Hake and the Steak Burger, all were very happy with their choices washed down with a bottle of white and red. No room for dessert unfortunately but that’s for another time. We’ll be back. We also loved the new decor and the lovely windows with views over the harbour.

Amazing restaurant with wonderful views over the harbour. Our food was fantastic, I personally had the scallops to start in garlic butter and then Lemon Sole for main the rest of the party had steaks which they said was also cooked for perfection. Highly recommend

Terrific food and service. So nice to have calamari cooked properly, and the special fish mains were out of this world. My mixed grilled fish special was perfect. A whole dish of mussels topped with a large sea bass fillet, hake, scallops and large prawns. Best meal we’ve had in Weymouth this week

Another fab evening out at Quayside Bar & Kitchen. We tend to bring visiting guests here for the scrummy locally sourced fish dishes, the lovely view over the harbour and the great atmos and service. I think this must have been our 4th or 5th time here for dinner this summer already.Quayside didn't fail us again on Saturday night with two members of our party enjoying the sea food mixed grill another a chicken burger and the other a lemon sole dish. Staff are always really pleasant and friendly with a great service attitude. Charlie was our waiter and he did a fab job! I am sure we will be back again.

Lots of new staff since our last visit but the service was really good. Charlie in particular is a pleasant young man and is very welcoming - it is nice to see this. Food as always was lovely - freshly prepared and portion sizes were good. Love this place and can’t wait to return again on Wednesday.

We were lucky enough to find a table on a spontaneous visit to Weymouth at the beginning of July. We were very impressed, by the quality and presentation of the food, plus the level of service. So much so, that we reserved a table and returned with a friend later in the month, when again everything was very good.

Excellent place for a meal, you have to book in advance, I’m a veggy and the lasagna was the best I’ve ever had, everyone else had hack or prawn salad I would recommend this place

Great restaurant right on the harbour. It is very popular and we had to book. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was a little slow and one table who came in after us got there food before us but the food was definitely worth the wait. We had the Pate, camembert, and scallops to start and the hake and mixed grill for mains (this is a mix of sea food and fish ). There was a generous portion of seafood and fish which was cooked really well. the mussels were especially good.

Arrived after booking by email in advance and having received confirmation, they couldn't find the booking and asked if we had the right date...not a good start, but on seeing our confirmation, sorted out the table swiftly. Very busy. You will need to book but I would recommend you also call to confirm. Great fish restaurant. Lovely if somewhat harried staff. Our waiter was a charming lad and chatty, though clearly rushed off his feet. Food was good and they know how to cook fish. Excellent seabass and hake.

Overall we had a lovely dinner here but there were a couple of very minor niggles which I hope you don't mind that I point out? I could see that the staff were working their socks off but we waited an hour for our main courses. It looked as though all the diners arrived at roughly the same time so guess that might be why?I had the mixed fish grill. Oh my goodness it was amazing, so tasty and fresh! Minor niggle: a finger bowl would have been appreciated as I ended up covered in (very tasty) garlic butter from peeling crevettes.My husband had the sea bass. Again, beautifully cooked and very tasty. Minor niggle: it was exactly as advertised (sea bass plus crushed potatoes), but it would have been helpful if the waiter had advised that it would come without veg or salad as we would have ordered a side dish to accompany it.Please don't be put off by this, I offer these very minor niggles only as an opportunity to perfect :-) Our food was incredibly delicious and the service very good - we will definitely return!

We book a meal here on mon 2 August for 9 people , first time family had met up for 2 years !! They sent a confirmation email , personally confirming the booking . We turned up bar was closed , it’s closed Monday but we’d had a confirmation email accepting the booking !! We were gutted there was no were we could get in as every where fully booked !!Then to make matters worse later on we were standing outside the pub , and they came out told us they were closed , I told them we had booked they didn’t believe me till they check and went oh yeah , I tried to phone u !! They don’t have my number !! Why didn’t they email . One man quite polite but the other , treated us like dirt on his shoe , Just walked off not even a sorry for any inconvenience!! Just rude !

Beautiful venue right on the harbour. From the welcome cocktails till the evening disco quayside staff looked after our every need superbly. The chef produced an excellent menu and the bar worked perfectly to make an excellent afternoon and evening extremely enjoyable. Would return to enjoy the restaurant in the future.

I arranged with Michael my Mums 90th birthday meal . Bearing in mind COVID restrictions this was not as easy as we would have liked . That said the service and support of Michael and his team was utterly brilliant. The food and drink were likewise excellent and so can not praise them enough ….everything was delightful with the seafood totally superb . Without a shadow of doubt this is the best restaurant in Weymouth/Dorset situated in a stunning location on Weymouth quay with very helpful and attentive staff serving first class seafood / delicious food. Drinks menu is likewise impressive. Having been fortunate to work and live in the Middle and Far East I have experienced many restaurants where prices are considerably higher but the quality / ambiance not remotely as good as the Quayside!

We were lucky to get a table - so glad we did. Great seafood - my husband loved the mussels and I enjoyed hake and scallops. Definitely come back when we return to Weymouth.

Wow called in here on spec and had the most amazing lunch it was very busy but service was great really friendly and although the food took a while it was worth waiting for the fish was delicious and perfectly cooked the mussels were delicious and the steak really tasty can’t review the chips as just didn’t have room for them the espresso martini was o e of the best I’ve had great afternoon we will be back x

The restaurant is adjacent to the harbour, the restaurant had tables inside and outside. The menu was primarily steaks and burgers although they had a blackboard of daily specials which were all fish, all of the food was freshly made, the fish was exceptional - really fresh, juicy and delicious. The atmosphere was good, relaxed, informal - overall a great experience

Visited this restaurant while staying in Weymouth. We ordered the monkfish , very disappointed . The fish was overcooked and rubbery. We informed the waitress of this. All she could say I’ll tell the Chef , nothing else was done. All the staff working there was inexperienced and didn’t seem to care. There was no Head staff.

My friend and I had a few hours to spend in Weymouth and I’d never seen the harbour before …..so many quaint restaurants but we picked the correct one!Food, service and ambience perfect…. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch I had the most wonderful seafood and my friend had a steak which looked and tasted divine…All the staff were attentive and friendly…. Charlie our waiter was superb and with his attitude will go far…. Thanks for making our day extra nice….

What an absolutely beautiful evening, wonderful food and very generous portions, steak cooked perfectly and my husbands fish was delicious too, the scallops to start were the star though! friendly and attentive service in a wonderful setting , thank you ! This was a lovely restaurant and the staff were lovely. We went 13/7 and sat upstairs. Food was excellent and glad we booked to go there. Had a lovely view of the harbour

To say they are short staffed we could not fault the service and to top it off the food was delicious. Set next to the harbour too, could not beat it. Very impressed and definitely recommend.

Visited earlier in the year and really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Husband had the rib eye steak, which he said was lovely but he then noticed the fish mixed grill and so wished he had chosen that. Well we have just been back to Weymouth so Quay Side was high on our list of restaurants to visit. Unfortunately on our first visit no fish mixed grill on the specials but we still had a most enjoyable meal. Had two further visits during our stay and he eventually got his mixed grill, thanks to attentive staff and management. He certainly wasn’t disappointed, it was beautifully presented and he said it was delicious. I have to say all of the staff were very friendly but professional and worked so hard. Our son has special needs and is a wheelchair user and the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. On our last visit there was a large party upstairs but we had been advised of this and asked if we could come a bit earlier which we didn’t mind. Even though the staff were exceptionally busy we still received attentive service. So to sum up an excellent restaurant in a great position with lovely staff and excellent food and good value. It’s such a shame that not all customers are appreciative of the staff. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Weymouth.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at this great local restaurant. We were a group of seven friends here for the evening. The Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec wine went down a treat! The service was unmatched from the time we arrived, extremely attentive staff with a great knowledge of the menu. Various courses were chosen; delicious steak, fresh lobster, sea bass and my supreme cod wrapped in serrano ham was second to none. We had two coeliacs in the group, with a vast range of food for them to choose from. Everyone agreed how delicious everything tasted. Great atmosphere with it being, what looked like, full capacity. I loved it so much, I’m planning to come for lunch in a few days’ time. Well done, we’ll be back VERY soon. May even write another review!!

My wife and I plus 4 friends visited The Quayside Bar & Kitchen for a Friday evening meal and we were not disappointed. We had booked as we knew it would be busy. The food we had was lovely. The service was quick & efficient and all the staff were lovely. We will return.

Beautiful meal at the Quayside. Service was outstanding, would recommend the baguettes, calamari and prawn salad(never seen an amount of prawns on one plate before)for lunch. Portions were enormous. Well worth the visit. Keep up the good work, we will be back.

I went with some of my family’s and my little girl who didn’t eat due to being so young . Was served in good time . Food was amazing . Restraunt was packed and I couldn’t fault any of the staff!! You all do an amazing job within hospitality !

On holiday with friends, ate here on the Saturday night, firstly let me say how exceptional the staff were, polite, friendly, nothing too much trouble, they genuinely made our evening. That and the food of course! Excellent starters of scallops and crevettes in lashings of garlic butter and bread to soak up those delicious juices. Mains were a burger, deemed excellent, sea bass and I had the sole which was meltingly fresh, and served in a beautiful lemon caper butter, we genuinely couldn't have asked for more. No room for pudding I'm afraid. Took all our willpower not to go back the following night as well!

We visited here 2 nights ago - my wife's review has been slated on your Facebook page & she has been trip advisor stalked by a guy called "Jeff" - who has sent her abusive messages for putting a bad review of this restaurant...(calling her a jobsworth idiot & a discusting person) . The drinks did take along time, the food was average & the staff were rude towards us.. I've been 2 weymouth many times, there are many beautiful restaurants, this unfortunately isn't 1 of them....

After being turned away by the Chatsworth because it was raining six of us walked along to Quayside Bar and Kitchen arriving as the sun came out. Whilst they were busy they accommodated us upstairs. Food was excellent (all but one had a fish starter and main), service was excellent and with lashings of wine a good time was had by all. We will certainly return here.

Visited Quayside this evening for the first time and will definitely be returning. The food was excellent. Our party all had different dishes - all were delicious, portion sizes were generous, and intolerances (coeliac) were catered for. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was spot on. The restaurant was busy, even though it was mid-week, which shows the popularity of the venue. Lovely place to enjoy a meal and the harbourside views. Highly recommend.

We had the most amazing experience here for my birthday in June. We are a local couple and had heard really great things about this harbour side restaurant. We tried it out for ourselves and they did not disappoint! We had the lobster which was just amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful and we would be really happy to recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable experience - ignore the negative reviews! Some people you just can’t please…!

An ok dinner but long waiting times and staff need some training up.wouldn’t return much better restaurants about the lovley weymouth.

On visiting Weymouth we had planned ahead & pre booked this restaurant especially after viewing their online menu.We did arrive a short while before our 20.00 booking unsure if our table was ready & prepared to come back if they could not accommodate us thankfully we were seated at our table, after sitting over 30 mins no one had come to take drinks or anything but serving other tables that had arrived after us not until I asked if we could see a drinks menu were we served. Unfortunately the food menu was not near as anything that was online but we appreciate the menus would change, the food arrived & was ok nothing I would highly recommend.Our friend went down to bar to ask for further drinks wearing his mask, we know it is not bar service in the present times but again we had been waiting along time. Our dessert order was also wrong.On paying the bill the waiter went on to say how he felt that the member of our party was rude to go downstairs & asked for drinks & that we were unreasonable to say when we were early we waited along time to be served as they had checked on CVTV, I was shocked by his response to us as customers spending in the restaurant & we did say we were happy to speak to a manager this did not happen.All the waitering staff were all very young which of course is nothing against them but I feel if the manager had gave them some better hospitality training they would be able to deal with unhappy customers more professionally.One of the staff also wore her face mask all night on her chin with her nose exposed when I pointed this out to her as under government guidelines we still have to wear them & that as I also worked in the NHS & the importance of wearing them correctly we again received very negative attitude.I have read some of the reviews & I am fully expecting a rude response from the manager as he has with many other unhappy customers on this site my only conclusion is that the staff have his attitude. This in all was a very unpleasant dinning experience.

Good food spoiled by poor delivery. Such a disappointment. We ordered the most expensive bottle of white wine (a Sancerre) but when it arrived it was not the same as advertised. When questioned, I was told that the wine was chosen by a wine merchant and was ‘the same price’. That’s not acceptable - if you advertise a particular bottle of wine, then serve it! Otherwise just offer ‘a Sancerre’ or ‘a dry white’ or ‘ an Italian white’. After the main course we were invited to view the dessert menu but after 30 mins with no response we decided to leave and approached the main desk downstairs. As soon as the management realised there might be a problem they quickly disappeared . Spineless.

We ate here this evening. The seabass was amazing !!!!!From start to finnish we couldn't fault the staff , food or the cleanliness of the place. I went to the bathroom twice both times they were being throughly cleaned by a member of staff So impressed will definitely be returning !X

I booked this restaurant on the back of reviews I had read on here regarding the good range of gluten free options available, including bread. So when my husband chose the liver pâté for starters and asked for it with gluten free bread he was surprised to hear and be told quite bluntly that there was no gluten free bread. So he had no starter as he did not like anything else. Unfortunately there was no gluten feee beer either. This being said the actual food we could order was outstanding, particularly the vegetables were cooked to perfection which made a nice change. Just be aware before you sit down to eat, you may want to check what your options are first as this lack of choice took the shine off our evening out so we didn’t even look at the dessert menu.

Very busy place. Had to wait a long time for our food They had run out I the sea bass which I was planning to order, so I had prevented instead, as a main mea!, not a starter. They were very obliging about this,have me plenty of creatures withchips, a lovely salad and a dish of beautiful fresh vegetables. All food arrived hot despite having been carried upstairs. Hubby had the cod which was good. Unfortunately they'd also run out of Pimms! Covid precautions seemed to be in place.Apart from the long wait quite good.

I booked a table on line and then called to confirm. I had to leave a message. I did get a call back to say i wanted to book a table, This was not the case as far as I was concerned i had booked, I just wanted confirmation. I then range again and the phone was left off the hoof as it was engaged for over 2 hours continuous. I managed to get through at after 8 but again got the answer phone. Again I left a message asking to have my booking confirmed again.I had to call again the next day today 1 July 2021 where I did actually speak to a person. I explained the situation, when i was then told sorry we have no booking in your name and they were full. I asked under these circumstances if they could fit 4 people in, when again I was told , The manager was not there and left instructions to say to all l who call "sorry we are full until Sunday" I do like this restaurant and have been a few times since the make over from Vaughns, but this has put me off going there again.

Our holiday cottage was close to the Quayside Bar and their menu immediately attracted us. For the first visit we decided to go for the fish options, the Portland scallops were lovely as was the plaice and sea bass. The puddings are enormous but a lovely treat too. Our second visit had us choose a steak, we both had fillet and it was cooked beautifully. Just one thing it came accompanied with a 'salad' which was predominantly peppers rather than other items. No puddings this time, we were stuffed. If you want to visit I'd suggest booking a table, I think you will need to.

We booked to eat here on our last night as we had seen great reviews and had enjoyed sitting outside having a drink. The food was lovely but after our meal we went outside for our final drink and we witnessed customers being spoken to quite inappropriately. The couple had sent their Irish coffees back as they were cold. The waitress took the m back, but then returned saying it was just the cream on top that was cold, at £7 each, the couple were not happy and asked for them to be re made. A couple of seconds later a man bounced out and told them the cream was out of the fridge, they would expect it to be cold! He was abrupt and condescending. It was suggested that maybe less cream and more coffee may help. The coffees were returned and were replaced by ones that didn’t have 2 inches of cream sitting on top of them!All staff we had come into contact before this incident had been friendly and attentive.

Good location. Friendly efficient staff. King prawns and scallops were tasty. Pesto crusted cod was plentiful and delicious. Desserts looked huge so plumped for the ice cream. Portions were big. Saw a lot of waste on people’s plates. Sad to see.

After reading the review is seems there are a lot of people out for a free meal or used to microwave 5minuet weather spoons food. If you can’t afford it just own it and say you can’t or don’t eat the WHOLE meal then complain you want it free. But it’s good to see all the experts who also run restaurants letting them know how it should be done … oh wait. Some people can’t manage their kids let alone a buisness. I loved the food here and keep returning time after time and have never once had bad service or food. If I was to have an issue I’m sure a spot of patience and understanding will go a huge way to a trade that’s had a hell of a (in 6 months) 2 years. It’s not been easy for all including mangers/buisness owners who have a whole world of pressure on their shoulders with out adding rude and cheap people to the mix who think they can do better from the side lines and/or hide behind a keyboard.Don’t give this restaurant a miss! The food is fresh and full of flavour and the staff are great… if you are.

Everything was right about this restaurant apart from one thing. That was that the staff were unsure about the difference between Petit Chablis and Chablis. I'm sure that this was an honest mistake as everything else was spot on. Would certainly go again

Avoid this restaurant. Staff pleasant but non-existent management. Food below average. Owner should spend more time supervising staff and food consistency as well as running his business rather than rudely replying to complaints! Lobster was inedible and although we mentioned it to staff nothing was done to remedy this.We are looking forward to a derisory response.For example: six staff wasted ten minutes clearing up a broken glass.We had to ask three times for a jug of water.

Booked on the off chance, had a lovely meal of fish, Lobster. The scallops were amazing and plentiful. Location of the restaurant excellent for people watching and we were lucky to go on a sunny evening.

We visited on Saturday 12th June in the evening, a family party of 5. On arriving we were told our table had been upgraded and we were subsequently led upstairs to a fabulous table with a balcony view of the quayside and harbour. From the outset every was faultless from the waiting staff (very attentive but not intrusive), the surroundings and of course the reason we were there ….. the food which was spectacular. Scallops, sea bass, cod, steak all cooked to perfection. We will definitely book again the next time we visit Weymouth.

As older people, on a limited income, my wife and I don't go out for meals very often, but as it was so nice we decided to return to the Quayside Bar And Kitchen. Having been before and had a lovely meal we were bitterly disappointed this time, we both ordered the half lobster and crevettes , the crevettes were delicious but the lobster was so chewy, I just about managed mine but my wife's was inedible. When the lovely waitress came and asked us if the meal had been satisfactory we informed her of the problem with the lobster and she said she would tell the kitchen.. When the bill arrived , a different waitress informed us that they had not had any other complaints, so really , the attitude was , hard luck. Don't go for the lobster. Shame!
