Explained we were going to the theatre so we only had 1hour and they helped us to make the right choices so we would be able to leave at the time we said. I booked via open table and it was for my birthday so u clicked the button and they gave a complimentary dessert which wasn’t expected but very much appreciated

Pre theatre meal - people were nice and pasta and wine were lovely .

Excellent meal, lovely surroundings but service, though charming, was just a tad slow.

This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in London. Food and service is outstanding. My close friend and colleague whose work takes him round the world was over from NY for the day asked if I could book Piero’s - he considers it to serve the best food and be the most welcoming restaurant in the world. Ours was a last minute booking (30 mins ahead of arrival) for my partners birthday. Restaurant was quiet on arrival but four more bookings came in after we had been seated and attended to. Acoustics good - no need to raise ones voice to be heard / no unintentional eavesdropping of conversations due to proximity. Lighting good - no need for torch app or phone light to read the menu. Back of the restaurant was lit more brightly than the front so (in my opinion) looked like it would be less intimate in nature. Fair selection of wines available inc. approx. x3 reds & x3 whites served by the glass. Callum was very knowledgeable about the wines and recommended the ones we ultimately drank to accompany both our starters and mains. Leonardo was the perfect mix of being discreet yet attentive. He noted we had ordered a number of dishes and so effortlessly utilised the empty table next to us to accommodate them. He was informed about the items on the menu and answered any questions we had. Food - tasty and well presented. Tagliatelle Ragu was hearty, flavoursome and as comforting as that which a Nonna would cook for her family. Linguine prawns were generous in portion and featuring an abundance of prawns. It was my first time dinning here and Paul (the owner) was so personable, I felt like a regular. He spent time interacting with us and all the patrons that evening.

Food was fantastic - was generally quiet, but we were an early booking (12.30). So happy this place reopened after going originally from Poland St.

La pasta de mi hija estaba completamente fría, la milanesa de pollo fría y seca, la exigua ensalada con ella desnuda. Hay algo muy malo en la cocina aquí y hay una gran cantidad de beneficios. Este solía ser un gran restaurante que servía correctamente comida sólida, nada elegante, sin vibra de zafferano, solo buena cocina toscana honesta pero Dios mío, no volveremos. Como mejor en mi italiano local en la carretera Holloway, que tiene un gran servicio y no cobra precios inflados criminalmente. Dueños de este lugar - avergonzarse de ustedes mismos.

We were excited to return to this restaurant after six years. Those years ago we had one of the most fabulous dinners at an Umbrian Italian restaurant that actually surpassed our meals in Umbria. Not so much this time. The tagliatelle was good but ordinary, and in fact a little tasteless. The other meals were fine (ravioli with spinach and ricotta, and the sea bream--the best of the lot). The service remains outstanding, and the prices typically high end. Would we make another journey to return there? Probably not.

We had a delicious pre-theatre dinner, the food was excellent, there was a great choice of wines and the staff were attentive, friendly and professional.

Brilliant night and excellent food. Service, ambiance, the lot, really good. A little disappointed that they charged £34 for limoncello at the end of our meal having spent £400!

Great food and service in a central location, handy for theatre and Soho.

This is one ofy favourite restaurants in London. From the old Poland St till today it has been outstanding. The service is attentive but light touch. From greetings to the farewell, the staff are outstanding. The food is excellent and the menu enticing, as always. The wine choice is both very good and great value. A fantastic restaurant with the feel of a small family venue. The service was excellent and a perfect balance of attentive but respectful. Excellent and tasty food and a credit to the staff and chefs for being able to coordinate all 11 receiving our meals at the same time.

Wonderful experience overall, the staff were incredibly friendly and passionate about the food. Everything we had was divine, from negroni to starters to mains to wine and desert was absolutely amazing. Will definitely recommend this place❤️.

We had tortellini sage and linguine prawn main dishes which we both liked. However the beetroot salad starter was below average / I would have the chef rethink the structure of this dish - the souffle brocoli was good. We like red wine and had theMontepulciano d Abruzzo which was perfect on the night- on the menu choice of wines by the glass eg only one white. The service was excellent and the people were friendly , warm and professional and perhaps that also reflected on the restaurant’s overall atmosphere which we liked.

I am an irregular regular at V&P. Always love it. Had a deliciously al dente spicy tomato lobster pasta as a starter and their signature Umbrian sausages and beans for main. Italian cheeses to share after. Worth noting that the menu changes daily so will have all the favourites and whatever is fresh on the day. Fruity Gavi to wash down the pasta and Barolo for the main course and cheeses. Charming happy service in their new spacious premises on d’Arblay St. Really recommend this independent, family-owned Italian gem

Consistently excellent food, good wine, well judged service, and recognition of regular clients. Our must go to Soho restaurant which never fails to please.

Simplemente me avergüenza no haber estado aquí en los cuarenta años que he venido a Londres. Soy muy afortunado de que un amigo lo conozca bien y arreglamos reunirnos y almorzar aquí. El restaurante no se anuncia, no necesita hacerlo. Cuenta con un flujo constante de habituales tanto para el almuerzo como por la noche. Y la comida es gloriosa. Como podría decir Michael Winner, el Burrata fue histórico y sin duda el mejor que he probado. Los tomates cherry eran dulces y llenos de sabor como si fueran recogidos directamente del jardín. Seguí con las salchichas toscanas horneadas y las palabras realmente no pueden hacer justicia a un plato tan bellamente cocinado. Comida barata hecha para levantar el corazón y el alma. Pablo nos hizo muy bienvenido y lo dejamos para elegir un delicioso vino siciliano. El metro más cercano es Oxford Circus. Dos platos cuestan alrededor de £ 40. No te demores, pero probablemente sea mejor reservar con antelación.

This long-established Italian restaurant located in the heart of London is the best of its kind in the whole city. Charming staff, beautiful decor, excellent service and superb food - is it any wonder that I have been dining here for the past 40 tears at least?!

We were on a belated 60th birthday celebration…the restaurant gave us a free glass of Prosecco to start, which was a lovely touch. Our blond waiter was very attentive, helpful & funny & the food was great.

Fantastic Italian eatery in Soho! Food was excellent, as was the service, staff were attentive but without smothering you. Good selection of Italian wines and we were recommended an excellent Rossi di Montalcino when the wine we’d chosen wasn’t available. Would definitely recommend and go back ourselves!!

We went for a midweek lunch and there was only one other person in, all looking very smart but felt out of place. My pasta was nice but only warm. I found it super expensive and not worth the experience. Won’t come back.

Food generally good here but not good enough to justify the prices any more. This review is based on a day when the restaurant was crowded and the waiting staff were very inexperienced. Previous times at V&P (and I've been eating off and on there since the original restaurant above the Academy Cinema) have been good.

Food was good and nicely presented. Service was excellent. For us, a little pricey.

Lovely 3 course meal, service was spot on and attentive. Classic negroni was perfection. Cod main course was cooked beautifully. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Have had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant since the 1980’s in various locations. It continues to provide excellent service and food is very high class. We live in California however when in U.K. we always find time to visit

I have been eating in Vasco & Piero's for years. I have never had a poor meal there or walked away wondering would I come back. The opposite, when I book I look forward to the ambience, the staff, the wonderful full Negronis and the short but excellent menu. I try NOT to order the Tuscan sausage, because I order it every time! This week I managed to veer towards the prawn linguine which was excellent and I say this after a week of eating fabulous food in Milan.

He estado yendo a V&P cuando estaba en Poland Street durante muchos años y mientras estoy en Londres menos estos días fue fantástico estar de vuelta. La comida y el vino eran excelentes, el servicio era similar y una noche completamente buena fue tenido por todos. Gracias.

Primi davvero ottimi.... tagliatelle al ragù buonissime come quelle fatte in casa dalla nonna. Porzioni generose...Sorbetto stellare!!! Prezzi nella media. Se avete voglia di mangiare italiano a Londra.... questo è il posto giusto! Consigliato!

The two pastas we had were one a crab fair to middling the other a ragu extremely disappointing - sorry to say the place has lost the allure it once had.

This is our favourite Italian in London. The owner is just lovely and you can just see the passion and its very authentic Italian/Umbrian and a family run establishment. Then the food!! Stunning! I'd recommend the souffle, its one of my favourites - ever, along with the Ragu (I get it every time) and the Tiramisu is so creamy and top 2 We've ever had! Just can't recommend this place enough along with all their friendly staff and amazing wines <3

Quality of food was abysmal. Very bland, expensive, hugely disappointing.

We hadn't been here before,but reviews were good.This is a family restuarant,really lovely atmosphere.Food was superb.We were given a little taster to start with and my Husband was given a free desert which was such a nice jesture.When we're back in London,we will definately eat here again.

Had lunch and selected from yesterday's menu (apparently it is updated daily). Anyways the food was of standard level and small servicings - which is fine by me when lunch, however I hope they are just a tad bigger for dinner. The beers offered are narrowed down to a choice between two (Italian brands) - not impressed. I know! this is a Italian restaurant and I like my wine, but for lunch it's better with a beer instead of wine...

Lovely meal and drinks, elevated by the superb service. Alexandra could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. From the warm welcome to the final farewell, we felt thoroughly spoiled. The food was very nice and a good selection. Fresh homemade pasta, tasty starters and mains with a very quaffable and affordable red wine. Would recommend this place.

Had a fantastic meal - everything was superb! The waitress was fantastic - the right balance of friendliness and professionalism. All the staff were excellent.

Very nice sardines to start, followed but excellent linguine with prawns, and a lovely Tiramisu.

Wonderful restaurant - a real find. Quality of food was amazing - fantastic ingredients and flavours. We had a trained chef, a vegan and a garlic intolerance amongst our group and yet everyone had a gorgeous meal. Lovely, quirky staff also really made the experience one to remember.

Interesting experience, quiet restaurant when we were there - looks like the restaurant is being renovated which it probably needs. Menus could really do with updating. Service was very friendly however and the food was good if a little butter-heavy.

Great traditional family-owned Italian in a quiet side street in Soho.

This is our third time here and on each occasion we have had the same 5* experience. If you yearn for the experience of genuine warm hospitality pre-Covid then this is the restaurant for you. We have come as a group of 8, a quick family dinner for 3 and as a birthday party of 5. The staff are warm and welcoming and on each occasion we can see there are very many regulars. There is no fixed time restriction for when you need to return the table and you can come for 1 course or 3 (or more) and the welcome will be the same. Many staff have been here for some time and know what great hospitality looks like and delivers. The chef knows how to cook and is sensitive to any changes to dishes that may be required. We came with a friend whose diet can’t take many of the usual cooking ingredients and this was dealt with as if a matter of course with still delicious results. Go and enjoy.

We had a lovely family dinner here Enjoyed great service and wonderful food and wine. This was the first visit to the new restaurant/location. It’s not as ‘cosy’ as Poland Street but still very nice. We will return again soon.

V&Ps was so worth going to! We weren’t sure what to expect due to the photos of food on the website but my friends and I were pleasantly surprised. Food and service were amazing! We were out for a friend’s birthday and let the staff know ahead of time. They gave us two starters we hadn’t ordered as a “treat” and all the staff came out to sing happy birthday to my friend when they brought out the dessert. Staff were super friendly and engaging to all their customers. Myself and my friends all agreed to return another time with our families. :-)

Is there a better Italian restaurant in London? I doubt it. The care and attention to quality of ingredients, expert cooking, and attentive service is of course all in evidence but there is more - Vasco's heritage is ever present. After more than fifty years this restaurant is as relevant today as ever and the tradition is being faithfully carried on by Paul and his hard working team.

Food, service and ambience was excellent….. highly recommend for fresh well cooked Italian dishes.

Without a doubt our favourite place. Each time (and there have been many) we have never experienced anything less than a warm welcome, superb service, cosy ambience and easily the best food and wine in London. V&P is a terrific place run and staffed by wonderful people we’ve come to cherish - can’t recommend it highly enough.

So glad we came here. After extensive looking through reviews as there are so many in London. Settled on here and it did not disappoint. Walked past it twice as scaffolding all over the front of restaurant which is a shame, but didn't detract once inside. Food gorgeous Traditional Italian. Food made with love and kindness, and great wine recommended too. Will come back if in this area again. We'll done team

Amazing meal, and it feels like a real gem of a find. A neighbourhood restaurant in the middle of everything! Special mention for handling a food allergy better than any other restaurant I have seen.

I loved the food, atmosphere and friendliness of this place. Me and a group of friends had a fun evening of celebration. Nice selection of dishes, the menu is updated regularly! My only slight complaint was that I booked months in advance for a birthday party. I made a point of asking if it was wheelchair accessible which I was told it was. I was then told a few days before that in fact it isn't. I was glad they phoned before hand otherwise it would have ruined the evening. I would go back but not with someone using a wheelchair.

I went with two friends who eat here often and totally understand why. The Umbrian style menu is excellent. The staff are good and know exactly how to pace service. Their wine list is very wide but features 4 recommended Montefalco wines and we thought the red very good. As we split up we all agreed to meet there in July. There can be no better recommendation.

An enjoyable lunch for a first visit. Bruschetta, Burrata and orange salad starters all delicious and well presented. The Cod main was great. We didn't have wine but drinks we had all prepared well.
