The worst experience ever. I had very slow customer service. The woman working there especially is not friendly whatsoever, no smile to her face. My food was delivered very late. Tasted bland. I ordered apple juice, the waiter said there wasn’t any. What kind of restaurant would let u down like that. To be honest the least and the worst restaurant I have been to. Never going again.

We hadn't visited this restaurant before as a group, although one of us had been before. The menu is very good; there were some different dishes as well as British-Indian staples. The food itself was delicious. The service was lovely, the staff are very friendly and funny (we like having a bit of banter) so overall it was a very enjoyable evening.

Vasaavi is undoubtedly the best Indian Restaurant in Earl Shilton, unrivalled far and wide. I have been ordering take away and delivery for a long time and recently ate in. Usually quality is affected by delivery but this has never been the case, always top quality. I highly recommend the Gosht Khali Mirchee, a hot and sour Lamb dish (also available on online menu which differs slightly to the Restaurant menu) Lamb Pasanda, Butter Chicken, Jhinga Masala.. fantastic! Condiments are always fresh Customer service is always second to none I just cannot fault this place at all!

Lovely food at a reasonable price. Mum and I visited for a meal out and opted for the early bird menu - £14.95 for poppadoms, starter, main course (with rice or naan) and a side dish. The food was great and more than enough for the two of us. The atmosphere was relaxed, the waiters were really friendly and the restaurant, whilst quiet when we arrived at 6.45pm, was packed by the time we left. We will return!

We were recommended this place, and the reviews certainly made it sound like a good prospect. However, as a couple who enjoy good Indian food (which is not hard to get in Leicester) we were disappointed. Firstly they do not serve alcohol, you have to bring your own (luckily they do not charge corkage). We were not aware of this. We ordered apple juice and a cup of tea. After waiting an age I was told they did not have any juice, so I ordered a lemonade. Two lemonades turned up - flat and with no ice. There was no air conditioning on, and the room was humid. My husbands tea made no appearance. We sat for at least 10 minutes before a waiter visited our table. Ordered some poppadoms. They did not take our actual order for 30 minutes, and we had to ask a passing waiter. Another long wait for the starters. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered a chicken paneer dish. There was so little flavouring on my fish, I could not recognise it as something from an Indian restaurant. It was cooked well, but did not have much of a flavour. My husbands dish was also not very Indian tasting, being pulled chicken covered in melted cheese wrapped in a chapatti. We waited another 30 mins for our mains to be served. My husband order a lamb saag dish which was okay, but not very spicy. I ordered something listed as new which turned out to be a lamb mince bolognese with dry chicken tikka pieces and a severely over-boiled egg. It was really sweet, and again not spicy. Both dishes were labelled as medium hot ( which I expect to have the level of a balti or rogan josh, but this was tikka masala level). It was edible, but not what I expect from an Indian restaurant. It was almost if they had hired an Italian chef, and asked him to interpret Indian dishes. Its saving grace is that the prices are not high. With the poor service, the cramped restaurant, the lack of drinks options, and the unflavoured food we will not be trying again.

Four of us visited Friday evening. The food was presented nicely, full of flavour and was a decent-sized portion. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming: checking that everything was okay and if we needed water refills throughout the meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had a good evening.

Arrived as a family of 6 - we decided to go for the £14.75 special set menu. Food was awful to say the least. Starters were tiny and served with no sauce. And the mains were just slopped on a standard plate. The Chicken in my tikka masala was rubbery and the naans soggy and wet. The staff don’t even ask if your meal is okay or offer you more drinks. Avoid this place at all costs!

Food at Vasaavi is top notch, particularly their chicken tikka samosas. We have visited a few times and have always enjoyed our meals. Staff really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is always busy with a great atmosphere, but food is served promptly. We also like the fact that you can bring your own alcohol, as it makes an evening out much less expensive as you can pay shop, rather than restaurant, prices for a bottle of wine.

Always willing to try new places and support local. A takeaway is a real treat as I tend to cook myself (lots of Indian cuisine). Where do I start - it was very easy to order and spend my hard earned money (I’m a chef and believe me it’s hard work). Reasonable description of the dishes on the menu which saves googling. However this is where reality and fiction collide. Perhaps the chef had left his spice stash at home and popped to the Coop for a jar of Sharwoods - believe me I’m that underwhelmed. No depth of flavour - we had the Paneer Kadhai …..here’s the Google version - Kadai Paneer is a spicy, warming, flavorful and super delicious dish made by cooking paneer & bell peppers in a fragrant, fresh ground spice powder. The Vasaavi version - tomato sauce with massive chunks of onion - that’s it 😳 The chef had also forgotten his knives or couldn’t be arsed to chop any thing….or season anything - you get my drift. Also sampled the Spiced potato and garlic mushrooms ….well now there’s a turn up for books - fancy forgetting the garlic and the spice 🙄…bad day chef. I should be relaxing now with that nice warm feeling and my taste buds alive. Nope I feel a bit flat (and vastly poorer to boot). Highlight of the evening - the jar of mango chutney and locally made naan out of my fridge 👍 Sort the chef please.

Ordered a takeaway, one of the dishes there was more in the bottom of the delivery bag than in the container, another dish was not included, all poppadoms broken, 6 small pieces of chicken in the Half empty Madras! £27 wasted. When I asked for a refund I was advised that could not happen as the boss was not in, I declined the offer of getting the missing dish to me as it had taken 50 mins to be delivered. Poor service poor attitude to a complaint, I would advise not to waste your money

This eaterie has everything I love. Nice atmosphere, great friendly staff, deliciously flavoured food. I like a really hot dish but my pal less so. Both are really well flavoured and spiced perfectly. All good is piping hot and the byob is an added bonus to get the drinks you want and keep the cost down! Well done to this place for opening up in an area that needed this little Gem. Btw, eaten here on 4 occasions

First time visiting this restaurant. We had previously here when it was a Spanish restaurant and couldn’t believe how different it looked inside. The new owners have really put a lot of effort into making this place look modern and interesting (not the tired cheap cafe look that was there before). Service was fabulous throughout and the food was excellent. There is a very varied menu, so it was lovely to try dishes I’d never seen before. As our friends had been there before and numerous times since we are sure the food and service are consistently good. At £70 for starters, mains, sides and some soft drinks we felt this was very good value for 4 people. All the portion sizes seemed very good too. The restaurant didn’t have an alcohol licence when we visited, but there was an off licence across the road. Would definitely eat here again in future - a wonderful new addition to Earl Shilton’s eateries.

Since opening, we've visited Vasaavi twice for their early bird menu, which is an excellent price for a family. Both times we have been delighted with the quality and amount of food received. Dishes are very flavoursome and the meat is so tender and succulent. Also everything comes out of the kitchen steaming hot, so lovely and fresh. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and it's a bonus that you can take your own alcohol, so it keeps the price down. If you do forget, there's a shop directly opposite, so no problem at all. We'll definitely be regulars! Keep up the good work!

The fact you take your own drink in my opinion is a bonus and if you forget just nip to the shop opposite. Food is Bangladeshi and so far the dishes me and the wife tried have been completely different in flavour. A must try

Unfortunately we didn't have the best time here. It started out great with the service and being sat to our table. The poppadoms and dips were great. Our starters were dry and the samosas seemed like they were frozen and the fried, very greasy. The paneer tikka was also overcooked and very dry. Our mains were very tasteless for an Indian restaurant. My partner has a saag dish that was greasy and had little to no flavour. My 'chef specialiaty' dish that promised a depth of spices, tasted like burnt curry powder with tomato added. We did not have any 'check-backs' and we weren't even asked how our meal was after the fact, to let our servers know how our food was. TLDR, we had both had positive experiences with this restaurant a few years ago, but unfortunately the food has become tasteless and the service lacking.

We are regular visitors to Bangla Pride and have always recommended it to others. However, on our recent visit it seemed that things had drastically changed, in particular the attitude of the senior staff (not Ross).. we have never had to pay for coffees or complimentary Baileys or Brandy but on this occasion charged for both. When queried were met with a terse “well you do now!!” Our bill was almost twice what we’d previously paid for much the same items. It has always been to our ‘go to’ restaurant and we’ve always recommended it to others but will seriously think twice before booking again. So disappointing…

2 stars for the food only because of the garlic naan softness and quality else for others like chicken biryani, chicken garlic mushroom tikka, the quantity was good enough and also for chana paneer as well but taste wise they lacked texture and salt as very less saltiness was there. Coming to the service part, honestly I review almost all the restaurants and places I visit and am flexible with my ratings and all but this was one of the worst services we have faced till date here in UK. It had been more than 15 minutes since we have reached there already but unfortunately, no one came to take up our order on their own and finally I was reluctant to call for one of them to take our order and believe me apart from us, there was only 1 more table filled with 4 people who had almost finished off their meal and were having last sips of their drinks and chatting. I don't understand why the restaurant people took so much time to come to us to take the order although that time wasn't at all a busy hour over there. And on top of it, the food also arrived just on or beyond time which can be pardoned per say but this service should be improved for future to avoid such critical review. Now finally coming to the best part of the restaurant which we liked the most was actually the ambience/atmosphere. The interiors and setip felt like kind of fine dining which was a posh experience so wanted to compliment that at least.
