Just next to our Airbnb so very handy and how to say no to the guy on the door who spends the day trying to get customers in! A typically frenetic family run Italian restaurant, wonderful service, lots of chatter between customers and staff, plates of food going back and forth all night. I had the Bolognese with J having linguine with prawns, we shared bruschetta and burata. Great food of course but slightly limited main courses but whatever works for them. I loved the vibe and atmosphere so worth checking out in an area with loads of restaurants.

I ate here with 24 classmates on a school trip. Most of us had pizzas and it was good besides the fact that the pizza dough was undercooked and looked like cheese. The service when we first came was good, but not even 5 seconds after we were done eating they tried throwing us out so that they could host other groups waiting in line. We had a reservetion from 19:00-20:15 but got kicked out 40 min early. Prices was very high, espescialy for the pizzas. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR LARGE GROUPS, espescialy not in rush hours!

The staff is a great and the food is tasty.

being from a small Italian town in south jersey I can tell you if you're ever in England please stop by and see these fine folk's the food is amazing the service is prompt and the atmosphere is authentic all the way to the little old man at the door I'll call him Mario oh the price is reasonable

Would not recommend this place at all. We had made a reservation in advance, but when we arrived at the booked time, we were told to wait outside for 45 minutes. The person at the door was very rude and arrogant, and did not offer any explanations about our booking, just pointed us outside. We went to the other Italian place on the other side of the street (Bizzarro) and were warmly welcomed there. Will not be returning to Altonapoli ever again.

The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. They clearly do not how to handle a restaurant properly. I really thought I was in an episode of Gordon Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares. Extremely bad service, very rude staff rushing us to eat and taking our plates away before we had finished eating off them. One staff member was shouting and whistling at customers coming in to sit down as quick as possible and the other customers told us they were “ too scared to sit down”. All the staff rushed us to finish our food eventhough we had a booking. And only gave us 1 hour 30 mins to sit down, order, eat, pay the bill and leave. Then we were told we had to leave earlier and we in fact were only allowed 1 hour to spend in the restaurant. As an Italian myself, the food was very mediocre, presentation was poor. My carbonara looked like slop on a plate and all the food did not even come out all together. Very poor organisation and no structure or clear communication between staff members. Every time one of them walked past, my chair would constantly get kicked because there was no room to move. Even Gordon Ramsey could not fix this absolute circus show of a “restaurant”.

Veni Vidi Edi! Altonapoli has the friendliest staff and amazing food! you will love their authentic oven-fired pizza, but save room for their amazing dessert menu... the tiramisu is light, airy, and dreamy. you will love it 🩷

Tourists, flee! The food is good but the bill will be high. We are lured by an Italian with a Tyrolean hat in the street… we enter. We are constantly asked to have something else during the meal. We ask for a carafe of water for which we will be charged 9 euros. We are offered bread which we gladly accept: we will be charged the same amount. And finally, mistake on the note….. to their advantage of course!

Super friendly staff and amazing service. The food was absolutely gorgeous and all topped off by a complimentary Limoncello. Couldn't finish all my food, so they even gave me a box to take leftovers home. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back tonight.

We had both dinner and breakfast here and the food is AMAZING. It's actually the best Italian meal I've ever had! The staff is friendly and very efficient. Look for Mario outside, inviting you in for dinner. Silvia was our server for breakfast and she made us feel so welcome and wanted to make sure we were pleased with everything. I simply cannot say enough good things! If you're in the Paddington area of London, don't miss this restaurant!

Italian restaurant with very good food.

The pizza was good, but unfortunately the price listed online doesn't match the price in the restaurant. The Pizza Capricciosa is listed online at GBP 9.95 and costs around GBP 17 in the restaurant. We paid £85 for 2 pizzas and 4 beers which is outrageous. Little ambience for a lot of money.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, the head chef ended up being our server and he was super amazing, great recommendations. We had the lasagna and truffle ravioli. The garlic bread is a must!

We've dined at this restaurant for three consecutive eves and the food has always been good. Service is friendly and super quick. The place is a little on the small side but seats were always comfortable. Prices are ok for central London.

This spot is so aesthetic and pretty! The servers were so kind and welcoming, always sharing a smile. The food was very good, I came for breakfast. Definitely recommend for an easy but nicer breakfast option!

Music too loud, pizza cold. Service, quickly dispatched, we had the impression that the tables had to be freed. and more expensive, for what it is! Very disappointed. Expensive beer for a bottle! Be careful on the note, there is already an invoicing for the service and with payment by bank card, the tip is requested again!

I needed a slap-up, full monty English breakfast after a gruelling long haul flight into the UK, while waiting for my train from Paddington. I asked the station staff for recommendations and they sent me to Altonapoli. It was super early but they opened up especially for me, and kept me plied with decent coffee till the chef arrived, and then delivered an excellent breakfast, 10/10 exactly what I needed. And were then entirely happy for me to stay until my train was due, and better still it turned out that the most delightful manager Cynthia is a fellow jazz enthusiast and excellent company. All in all it was pretty much the perfect breakfast experience, and definitely worthy of the full 5 stars.

Nice staff, nice restaurant, just quite cramped. We ordered scampi for starter, which was delicious, and pizza for main course. The pizza was good, but very soggy. Otherwise ok.

We were searching Italian cuisine in Paddington and found this restaurant on our last night here. We gave it a shot and we’re glad we did. The staff is friendly, we enjoyed our food and every moment we spent in the restaurant.

Bolognese loaded with salt, olive oil soup at the bottom of the carbonara pasta, and a £4 service charge to finish. Not the best restaurant of our trip.

Altonapoli is one of my usual go-to breakfast spots in Paddington with a delicious mushroom omelette (I’m notoriously known as the mushroom omelette with extra mushrooms guy) and they have authentic Italian coffee which is always great. Top tier service from Sylvia and an all around welcoming atmosphere.

Restaurant italien agréable. Pizzas et pâtes très bonnes. Service rapide... voire trop ! Vous commandez et payez depuis votre téléphone. Du coup, si vous commandez les desserts au début, ils arrivent en même temps que le plat. La glace à le temps d'être fondue ! Comme quoi, rien ne remplace un vrai service, humain et attentif.

We had pizza and lasagna. The cheese on the pizza was falling off in chunks. The lasagna was also disappointing. Additionally, the waiters kept coming to our table almost every 10 minutes, trying to give us the menu, practically urging us to leave. On top of that, they added a mandatory 12.5% service charge to the bill. I don’t recommend this place.

Stumbled upon this restaurant on my way to the station for a quick bite. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly!

Very disappointing for what looks like an attractive chain Italian near Paddington. They’re usually a safe bet. Caesar salad was the worst I’ve ever had, only a rabbit would enjoy it, just a bowl of leaves chucked together. The other dishes weren’t great either, even the lasagne was no better than a supermarket ready meal. Our dishes arrived piecemeal, not together, and we had to chase as they were taking so long. It was mid afternoon and not very busy. This restaurant has a curtain around the front door but every time the door opened the temperature dropped considerably. There are other pubs, cafes and restaurants in the area which are much better.

I had an amazing experience here, the food was really delicious and the staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend coming here and I would come back again.

Although owner did not acknowledge our booking, he was welcoming and got us a nice table that was more towards the bar so it was warm and cozy. Service was good overall, but I deducted a couple of stars for reason that despite 12.5% service charge automatically added already, they still suggest you to add another 10% or more on their PDQ a they hand it to you. Food was average, chicken milanese was very dry, luckily being served with spaghetti pomodore added some sauce to it. It's a decent restaurant overall and I would still recommend passing tourists to give it a try. Keep your expectations average.

We were looking for a good meal but a simple evening as we were still adjusting to the local time. Our waitress was very pleasant and the restaurant was pleasantly quiet. The food was fresh and well prepared. The price was very reasonable especially for the quality of the food.

Most of the Italian restaurants we tried are delicious, thank God, and the thing I recommend most is the red shrimp spaghetti, which is very delicious 😍

My 13-year-old daughter and I visited this Italian restaurant during our trip to the UK, and it quickly became our favorite spot. The first time we dined here, my daughter loved the food so much that she insisted we return. To our surprise, the staff remembered us on our second visit and even offered my daughter a free ice cream! When I tried to leave a tip, they kindly refused. On our last day, we went back one more time, and once again, they greeted us warmly and treated my daughter to a complimentary ice cream. Their genuine kindness and hospitality made our trip extra special. I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful memories they helped create for my daughter. We’ll never forget their warmth and generosity, and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a heartfelt dining experience.

Sylvia was a wonderful server - she even helped us when our tired child was having a hard time. The gluten free pizza was excellent and so were the Eggs Benedict.

The pizza was quite good. The ambience was ok. I think that a more dimmed light would be better. The restaurant did not have my reservation when I got there but we were lucky that it was empty. When I spoke to the waitress regarding my reservation she pretended not to understand. When I spoke with the owner I didn’t understand what he said fully but he said something like they were not using TheFork.
