Vapiano Paddington in City of London, Westminster

Pre booked a table for 2 @ the Paddington branch. Met with a friendly smiling team member. The restaurant is very smart, trendy and stylish. Lots of plants, bronze style lights. You must have a decent modern smart phone as you order via a q code. Our cheese bread starter, bbq pollo pizza and prawns with pasta. Absolutely spot on. Very tasty. Highly recommended. They also do NHS discount, which is the right thing to do, as it’s next to St Mary’s hospital. They also do takeaways. We will be coming back 5 star.

Extremely hospitable, very easy to order, good food. After looking at a few options around the station we plucked this place - but no regrets - everyone was absolutely lovely and reasonably priced.

The overall experience was good. Service is a little different and feels impersonal as you order through an app. Nobody came to check on us to see if everything was ok. Even when we had received our food not one member of staff came to ask how the meal was and if we needed anything. We had to go and find someone to give us some cutlery that was missing. In spite of this the restaurant’s saving grace was the food. It was delicious - fresh and full of flavour. I had the chicken Alfredo along with two others in my group and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. I should have had more chilli to give it more of a kick. Would I go back? Yes, with the hope that the service would improve.

We are locals so we used to be regulars to this restaurant before our favourite waitress left. We recently went back a few times and observed that she was no longer there and we instantly knew. The service each time towards us has gotten more and more terrible, the other waitress is rude and mean as well as she doesn’t care about the customers, and the host Mario rushes the customers out including us that have frequented the place often. The owner is a very stressed old man which shouts at his employees and treats them with his feet right in front of the customers..this really put us off.., the same way he treats the place and customers, he doesn’t care about us. They are slightly racist stating the fact that we come from an indian background we wouldn’t be served and talked to as much as other white people, but I also have seen that they were racist and making racist comments multiple times towards black and asian people, although this shouldn’t be necessary when none of them are white and come from arab backgrounds/ none of them there are italian except the host so dont let yourselves fooled by them! We have recently observed that they always ask for an extra tip on top of the service charge which is an absolute joke as they don’t deserve not even the service charge for the service provided, I tend to believe all of this goes to the greedy owner from what we know from the people that used to work here, so don't fall into their trap. There are other places that serve better food and have better customer service right across the street, but be ready as they don't take cash but the service along the food is really amazing! In rest? I do not recommend this place, food here went downhill as well as service, and that rude and racist waitress should not work in customer service.

Disappointed, the prices are double those displayed on the internet. We are not the only ones to have complained about this but once installed we couldn't leave. The food is good but it is very expensive for what it is. Damage

The food is good the place is nice but the staff is unwelcoming. The first time I thought maybe this guy is tired or something but no, even the second time it was the same thing. I feel sorry for them, with this kind of staff the good food wont help.

The staff was so nice and funny, pizza was very good, beautiful restaurant and the prizes are absolutely fair! I can‘t complain about anything. Do yourself a favour and enjoy your meal here.

The way to the toilet were kinda odd

Nuestras dos primeras visitas aquí fueron perfectas. Pedí el pesto de albahaca y la pasta de langostino rey en ambas ocasiones, y estaba absolutamente delicioso. Mi compañero disfrutó de la pasta de setas y pollo Alfredo, y a los dos nos encantaron las bebidas que obtuvimos durante 'Vappy Hour' - eran excelentes. En nuestra tercera visita, llegamos temprano en la mañana, y pedí la misma pasta de nuevo. Desafortunadamente, la salsa fue diferente esta vez, ya que el personal de la cocina agregó tomates, a pesar de mi solicitud específica de no tomar tomates. El pollo de mi compañero Alfredo también resultó bastante seco. No estoy calificando esto más bajo solo porque los camareros respondieron rápida y profesionalmente a nuestro problema, haciendo que mi pasta se rehaga sin dudarlo. También le ofrecieron a mi compañero crema extra para su pasta, aunque él se negó ya que casi había terminado. Esto puede haber sido un problema puntual, pero afectó a nuestras dos comidas y nos dejó ligeramente decepcionados.

We had dinner with you today after a long day. We had already seen the restaurant the day before and decided to eat there. We were warmly welcomed without a reservation. The starter, garlic bread with cheese was great. The main course, burrata pizza, buffalo pizza and lasange was awesome. Super nice service because we were half starving. It was great that we got something to eat quickly. Dessert was also fantastic, we shared a tiramisu. All the service staff were super accommodating and nice. There was also a group picture. Only the toilets could be a little cleaner.

Went for breakfast and they made the omelette exactly like we ordered. Good coffee as well

Je n ai pas aimé le concept, on scanne un code et on commande sur leur application ( donc si comme nous tu as du mal à avoir du réseau c est compliqué) ensuite les plats arrivent environ 10 minutes les uns après les autres ( donc tu manges pas ensemble) en bref ce n est pas un restaurant je dirais plus un fast food «  Italien «  tu commande en ligne tu paie en ligne, aucune interaction avec les serveurs Je ne recommande pas pour un moment de détente en famille

We were met at the door and brought to the seat as quickly as possible. Everything had to happen as quickly as possible, you didn't feel welcome. There was very loud music on. The food came quickly, but the portion was manageable. The tourists were processed quickly. Danger! We were tricked when paying: the waiter asked for a tip again when paying with the card, but this was already calculated at 12.5% ​​anyway. So double tip for lousy service!

The food tasted excellent, but if you want to go out to eat with your girlfriend and have a good time, this is not the place. Loud music, the owner shouting at the waiters etc, all in all a stressful experience.

We went there for dinner and from far away we saw Mario inviting guests inside. We were immediatelly assigned to a table and the service was great. We got some pizzas and rissoto. All was great. Pizza was actually probably the best we've had ever. The dough could be served alone without toppings and it would be still great meal. The toalletes was a little bit dissapointing. Small dirty room downstairs you would rather not use if you could avoid it. All in all true Itallian experienece. We were a little taken aback by the price. There is automatic granuity 12,5% added automatically and then you are still expected to add another tip when paying.

Everything was great! Fluffy lively pizza and risotto to die for. They even have their very own italian hype man at the door funneling in more people. That was fun.

We came across this Restaurant whilst walking around Paddington. Could not fault the service, food, or coffee. Coming from Australia, coffee has to be good. A hint........please put Long Black in your Coffee Menu. With so many Aussies in London, they will ❤️ it!

Authentic Italian food, absolutely fantastic! House made pastas and sauce… owner is from Palermo… you will not be disappointed. Don’t settle for the chain joint across the street when you can be transported to Italy here. Tiramisu is also house made. Do not leave here without it!

Nice place, excellent food, shame about the climate inside because every time you open the door it gets bitterly cold and the prices are too expensive.

Unfortunately it seemed very touristy. You were met at the door and brought to your seat as quickly as possible. Everything had to happen as quickly as possible, you didn't feel welcome. The staff was ok but very pushy. This completely disrupted the ambience and made it difficult to eat quietly. The pizza was OK, but we expected a little more. Overall, I would advise against it if you are looking for something authentic to eat.

Just had lunch here and we were impressed by how friendly the staff were, how nice the restaurant is, and the quality of the food. Sylvia, our server was wonderful and we’d definitely come here again.

This is the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in London. The food is okey but the service and environment are very poor. I never thought that eating dinner in an Italian restaurant is like a fast food restaurant, and the seats are narrow than taking public transportation

Siamo in viaggio con la famiglia, tramite the fork prenoto un tavolo in questo ristorante, arrivati al ristorante il signore sulla porta molto SCORTESEMENTE ci dice che ci sarà da aspettare 45 minuti fuori al freddo, al che io ho esclamato: Abbiamo prenotato, lui molto indispettito mi risponde che è pieno e c'è da aspettare di accomodarsi fuori e calmarsi (quando noi eravamo molto calmi ma stupiti) siamo venuti via increduli perché con una bambina di due anni e mezzo non sarei mai stato ad aspettare 45 min al freddo. La domanda sorge spontanea, cosa fate prenotate a fare se poi fate aspettare le persone? Ristorante veramente indecente e personale vergognoso Buffoni

The man at the door is a little rude and too chaotic, the rest of the staff is very correct and professional. From my point of view the food is a bit expensive for the quality.

Waited outside for 15 min you can’t go in because a guy blocks the door it was just me so a table for one a 10 person family comes up and speaks Italian to him and he gets them right in then tells me no more seats for 30 min… they don’t do reservations here so if you speak Italian you get in quicker it seems. Went across the street and the food and the atmosphere was more welcoming

Lovely restaurant and service was very fast. Food was so tasty and they could cater to allergies. Arancini was great and the 'simple' prawn entree left me almost licking the plate clean with the richness of flavour. Thanks

We had minestrone, marinara and pizza quattro formaggi. For dessert, tiramisu and pannacotta. All highly recommended.

Arrived on time for our booked reservation. Gave my name but the doorman wasn’t really interested. He herded as to a table and we sat down. We ordered drinks and were almost immediately pounced on for our order. We felt under pressure to give an answer as the waiter stood over us. When our food came it was almost thrown at us. All the time people were being herded in and out like they were on a conveyer belt. It was very noisy and felt totally rushed. There were too many tables crammed in. We were near the door and people were constantly walking past and nudging my friend in the back as there wasn’t much room to squeeze by. All this said, the food was really nice. Not a place for a leisurely meal and a quiet chat

The main waiter (or owner, the one in the main door) pretends to be funny but he was disgusting.

Despite rush hour and the restaurant being full, they tried to find us a seat quickly. We found the staff to be very accommodating. The food was served hot and tasted great! We were no longer offered a dessert menu. It seemed as if it had become a bit too crowded to accommodate all the guests at the same time. Furthermore, it became quite loud and crowded due to the large number of people. Hence 4 stars. We'll definitely come back anyway! :)

Service was great, they were very attentive. Food arrived quickly and was tasty. Only negative is the lack of space, with tables so close you are literally joining others and no space for the servers to walk in between so your chair is constantly being kicked every time they walk past. So I just didn't feel very relaxed, trying to keep my elbows and feet in and sit as close as possible to the table.

Our group of ten spontaneously popped in to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday on our last night in Europe. They played a birthday song over the speakers then Mario and the staff and the whole restaurant sang to her. It was so fun and memorable! And the desserts were absolutely delicious!

Attracted by Mario we entered one of the first restaurants we encountered on the street, after a day spent traveling we decided to eat there, with a bit of skepticism, a nice plate of pasta, and Mario immediately recommended himself to the waitress saying that we were Italian and therefore the pasta had to be al dente and I have to be honest the pasta was really cooked in the right way, the seasoning was good and overall for what we ate an excellent Italian restaurant recommended to all tourists with a bit of nostalgia for our cuisine and to locals looking for authentic Italian food

The service was good but I did feel like we were being rushed a bit. I found the ambience a bit sterile. The food was good but not exceptional. My sea bass was just a touch over cooked. So overall I would say it was a an ok dinner.

Best food had in a restaurant in a long time. Never knew a toffee pudding could be so light! Staff are great and very pleasant. Only negatives are that soft drinks are £4.50 for a can, but it’s not advised it’s just can. For that price we expected a large glass, and the toilets are not in the best state.

Place was near our hotel and saw it was always full of people, so we figured we would give it a try. Didn't disappoint us. Food was very tasty. It had that hectic bussle you find in a busy Italian restaurant. Owner is worth the price of "admission".

My family and I were looking for a bite to eat and aren’t familiar with the area. We happened upon this restaurant and the owner welcomed us in. The carbonara, pizza, and Caesar salad were all absolutely delicious! Great flavor and the portion sizes were generous. We would absolutely go back!

I loved this place! There’s a competing restaurant across the street but this one is way more inviting! The staff makes the environment very fun and inviting! Food was great and huge selection of drinks

The food was normal. Average price, but the service was terrible. I paid the bill and was finishing my wine (in less than 5 minutes I would be out of the restaurant anyway) when the man who was controlling where people sat loudly told me to leave the table as I was already getting in the way... completely inelegant and inappropriate .

The worst restaurant in the area. You get stuck on the tables because they are so greasy. Food scarce, and of poor quality. The small lasagna and the hard pasta. The Commercial comes to look for you on the street so that you can try something delicious and that invites you to a shot, and deceives you from the first minute. And I won't tell you anymore when you go to the bathroom, you go down some dirty stairs and push a greasy door, to find the bathrooms, which I'm not going to describe better. I will never return!!

We had brunch at Altonapoli. The Full English Breakfast was delicious, as was the Cheese Omelette. The coffee and tea, which at many restaurants are at best an afterthought, were very good. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was, overall, an excellent experience.

Food was below average, tried to charge us for water when we ordered tap, we booked a table for 630 and told us to leave at 730 because apparently they had other bookings. Not sure why recent reviews are so high.
