Vals' Cafe in Reading

This morning I stopped by for Breakfast (A Small fry up) I found the atmosphere in the cafe nice and friendly and the staff were pleasant and the service was great. The food was very good and enjoyable and I found the options on the menu to be broad but affordable which is needed in this current times.

Excellent vegetarian breakfast, and served with much kindness. I like this place and often take my lunch here.

Used to be a lovely place, now it’s a shambles. Google states they’re open today from 9am - 2.30pm, so I head down and closed, with a sign about how they’re closed sundays due to covid-19 which cut it a few weeks ago, now it’s just a poor excuse. Last couple of visits the foods been mediocre too. Not sure what’s going on but the standards are slipping and that’s one regular customer giving the place a miss and with how it’s declining, I doubt I’m the only one.

I ordered a full English breakfast with black pudding as a takeaway during lockdown. It was absolutely perfect and still piping hot when I got it home. It was served in a large foil container which was comfortable to eat directly from so I didn’t bother putting it on a plate.

I love this place, I often stop in for a takeaway and get an extra sausage for the dog, I went and sat in a couple of weeks ago with my mum and 2 daughters, great place clean tidy quick service and nice staff, I like you can add extras to your breakfast, will definitely going back soon

The staff and food is nice. Covid 19 signs in place, hand gel and restricted seating clearly marked. Shame they allow customers in that were not wearing masks. The government rules are pretty clear, masks MUST be worn when entering and can be taken off when sitting down to eat and should be put back on when going to toilet and leaving.. So for this alone, I'm taking 3 stars off, because this is a serious Covid 19 non compliance. Will not be going back until Covid 19 blows over.

Working in the area we passed this cafe on our way to screwfix and thought we would give it a try. Very clean and tidy place, friendly and very nice food. The full english is lovely and the sausages are gorgeous

Brilliant tasty and hot full English breakfast ordered (Facebook messenger) and promptly delivered contactless this morning! I highly recommend.

First visit to the cafe in a while and I must say that the food is to die for as is the customer service, My full English was delicious as was my latte. Can’t wait to go back

For years the go to place in Reading for an all day fry up has been the Gorge Cafe. Have to say Val's Cafe is the new contender for the title. £6.99 for a full English. You get butter with your toast not marg. The condiments are top quality too. Service is good. Would definitely recommend a fry up here.
