Valley Road Chippy in Sandwell

Chips taste like the oil hasn’t been changed in weeks. Salad was rotten literally yellow and smelt awful had to throw food away and I was scared to feed it to my child in case it made them ill absolutely disgusting worst rated chip shop all around. NOT EVEN WORTH 1*. Please explain to me why my sausage was still frozen in the middle if I want to cook I would have gone to my freezer and cooked but fancied and treat. If times wasn’t hard enough they should me ashamed to let food like that go out.

Very disappointed. The chips were not greasy because they were dry and we wondered if they were the lunchtime leftovers warmed up. Portions were adequate but not as large as the picture. I had the mini fish but sadly the batter was soggy not crispy but a decent portion. My partner had chicken kebab which was small and more heat than taste. I would describe this a mediocre and would prefer to try another place. Was it worth £21! God no

I went there for the first time and they seem very welcoming,the chips where nice and the battered sausage and I was surprised at the price because of how good priced it was very good service and will be coming again.

If you want to find mediocrity in local takeaways, come here. The fish and chips I had weren't bad, but they were very plain and the batter had no flavour, it didn't really taste of anything. Not the worst fish and chips I've had by a long chalk, but hardly anything to sing about either.

Used to be a decent chippy. However now it's terrible. Food flavourless and poor portionsize for the price. Owner looked annoyed I walked in the shop. Customer service non existent (young lad is polite and good) I don't give bad reviews for the sake of it but honestly go somewhere else best thing they could do is sell it to someone who actually wants to run a chippy

Worst ever kebab I’ve ever had in my entire life also the fish is completely rank batter was soggy the fish was cold inside obviously they use frozen fish hopefully they get shut down by inspectors

Ordered take away for delivery. Battered sausage, battered fish and battered chips. Both got food poisoning the next day from it. Won't be ordering from them again.

SMALL PORTIONS & CASH ONLY ! pass this place regularly and thought I would drop in. Not only are they robbing the government via tax they are robbing there customers on small portions and it’s not exactly cheap in comparison to other places up and down the country…my first stop was the last stop sorry. Black Country chips ok but the small portions and cash only has put us off.

Brilliant service and food was excellent

Waited 90 minutes for food to be delivered, ordered a small meal, they delivered a large one so had to pay the extra, food arrived cold, they tried to blame the driver for the long wait, most of the meal went in the bin, will not order from this place ever again

Always have excellent food , staff are friendly , would highly reccommend

The only nice thing about this chip shop was the young lad who served us,very polite and friendly. The shop looks dirty and it is dirty,food utter rubbish was looking forward to battered chips but tasted awful and soggy. Grandaughters wanted a slush puppy it was a no wish i had of seen the state of the machine before i ordered food...NEVER again !!!

Love this chippy, one of the cheapest but have the best chips and kebab. I really do like the batterd chips or you can have normal.

No fish at 6.30pm!!! And for two weeks running now I have asked for freshly cooked tinned roe, they said it had been done but definately not freshly cooked,batter like rubber and meal left,very disappointing

The food was beautiful and fresh, wife not keen on chips usually, but polished the plate of large cod and battered chips. Delivery was nice and fast aswel, with a pleasant driver. Absolutely cracking.

Lovely, freshly cooked food with great portions at reasonable prices. Fast service from friendly staff. Can't fault it! They'll always let you know if there'll be a short wait, it's worth the wait - and usually there isn't much wait at all. Usually have either fish or mixed meat. The battered chips are particularly nice too, they also do plain chips. All great options. Haven't tried the pizzas yet. Hands down one of the best chippies in the local area. Never had a bad meal here, always reliable.

Friendly and helpful staff, tasty food and the battered chips were spot on. Definitely worth a visit if you’re hungry and looking for a decent takeaway. We will be back soon 😋

Used to be our go to place but unfortunately it's gone right down hill. I'm sure they have gone cheap on everything now. The new lads that work in there talk like there from top boy. Swearing in front of customers and talking about going out and getting drunk. The owner hears them but not a word said. Swearing I front of kids and customers is a big no no

Stone Cold Chips and Pepperoni Pizza which was so undercooked as soon as I picked up a slice the whole of the topping fell onto the floor. People don't visit here

This is by far the best chippy I've had, the chips are always top quality and I can't resist the chicken kebab which is a really good portion size and perfect for those days you just want to indulge. Staff are also really friendly and you can always expect top quality service as they're always upbeat even when it's having a busy patch.

The food is good but the customer service is terrible, manners cost nothing.

Used to be a nice chippy but during Covid I think they have lost the ability to clean, the shop is filthy and the staff look dirty very disappointed, unless you want food poisoning or covid stay well away.

Had both battered and plain chips today, usually really nice...not tonight, absolutely awful. Small portions, hard and dry chips, runny gravy. Wont be going back🤬

Amazing battery chips three meats are very nice

Ordered my food of just eat, the naan was all burnt the chips didnt even taste like chips they tasted burnt the meat was under cooked and they charged me for salad and never even gave me my salad. Will not order from here again. Put me of takeaways for good.

All food is cooked fresh. All the pizzas are made with fresh ingredients. The naan bread are beautiful and made fresh not frozen the masala fish in naan bread is beautiful no food is served from the day before any food that's left over at closing time is put in the bin they DO NOT serve stale food everything is prepared on the day

Never again will I order from here again the chips where not even freshly cooked tasted like yesterdays chips the rest was ok but now a few hours after having it me my wife and 3 kids have all got bad stomach cramps and have done nothing but be on the toilet all nite!!!!!!.

The battered chips are something special. I'd go for half and half on the chips so you get the best of both worlds. Prices are great and the quality matches so the kebabs and fish will suit most people.

Worse chip shop ever staff dont know what they doing been a few times and always wrong and last one we had the nan bread for the kebab was all soggy and went wasn't cooked at all never will go there again

As a local chip shop it's OK, if you want pizza, kebab, and many other things you can get it here. It's cheap and if you can get in as they have just cooked they are very good. Delivery service is average and sometimes can take a while, have had to chase orders when it takes a long time to come.

Large choice of food. You can choose from plain or battered chips, Keebab meet is always good from there. Haven't tried the pizza yet but they look really good.

Just order for the family and the portions are a joke had pie and chips in a tray pie is ok but only got a handful of chips about 17 of them that's less than a cone of chips going to start ordering else where

Hour and ten minutes for food to arrive. When i starting eating chicken kebab i noticed that it was full off fat and grisel. Every bite of chicken had fat in. Worst experiance ever. Used to be good but gone way down hill. Never eating from here again.

What could i say .... i rated this place but boy was i wrong ... after twice waiting for late food and with 3 yong children and with hard earned cash to offer them a treat... do not I SAID NO NOT!!@@ use this place!!!... dont waste your money ... late again ...should of used the once bitten ... but no im british... avoid... its not worth the disappointment... ... last chance .. and boy did the get it wrong... !! Said half hour .. an hour and 20 minutes later and ringing them twice .. its on its way... look you used this line last time ... it cant be that hard ... good luck if you get food... shame cause first time round they got it spot on ...be warned ..

Went here tonight the curry sauce was watered down so had to bin it very disappointed with the food tonight won't be eating from here again
