Have been eating here since the week it opened. It hasn’t changed much and neither has the menu, but working on the “if it isn’t broken” principle then you have to argue it’s definitely doing something right. Have enjoyed too many meals here over the years to remember but our last one was unforgettable for the wrong reason. After enjoying yet another meal here the other night we were about to place our dessert selection and as my son is coeliac he asked what desserts were gluten free. The waitresses response….and wait for it because it’s an absolute master class in what NOT to say.…was….”I have no idea”. I’m sorry, you have no idea??? She didn’t even make ANY attempt to go and find out (or as far as the law is concerned) provide my son with the legally required list of allergens on the menu. To say the entire table was stunned into silence was an understatement. As this was a family meal paid for by my elderly mother to save her any discomfort or embarrassment the matter was not pursued. Instead we declined any desserts, she paid and we all left. Never to return again regrettably. Valentino’s needs some serious and urgent staff training if the response to a legitimate question concerning something as important as food allergies is “I have no idea”. They have been reported to the FSA who will hopefully be able to provide them with the help they so badly need.

Fantastic menu, quality of the food is second to none, staff are welcoming and efficient. We celebrate our birthdays and anniversary here, and honestly wouldn’t consider anywhere else.

Starters were poor - the bruschetta tasted of fish! - mains were average - over reliance on tomato sauce to fill the plate! Maybe people enjoy the pizzas?

Valentino’s is a very traditional Italian. The decor is traditional but look beyond that and the food is lovely. Large portions and traditional dishes. We had bruschetta and ribs for starters, both delicious and extremely large portions. The ribs slid off the bone. Mains were veal and a vegetarian pasta. We couldn’t finish them as they were so large. The prices were really cheap too. A half litre of wine and 2 pints and it was only £60. Staff were friendly and the place was packed, a good sign. Will definitely be back.

Celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary, and everything was perfect. This is a seriously good restaurant with amazing dishes, and is special to us as a couple. The service is always excellent, the staff are magnificent, and Rossi and Dave are fantastic chefs. So pleased they are allowed to trade properly once again, and so pleased to see how busy they were! Overall, simply outstanding.

First time I’ve tried Fillet Rossini as a take away, and I was blown away! Simply fantastic!! Rossi and staff never let us down!! Highly recommend!!

Celebrating my wife’s birthday, will not go anywhere else! Felt really welcome as soon as we walked in, the social distancing is spot on, the meals were amazing. The fillet steak is wonderful and always cooked to perfection! Another fantastic evening! Thanks to all.

We visited Valentino’s last night. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the lovely Lucy. We were not rushed even though it was busy. The food and service were outstanding and all the staff were attentive and took really good care of us. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. See you soon.

It was our ruby wedding annivesary on Sunday 29th March and obviiously all celebrations were put on hold. We intended to visit Valentino's but obviously this was impossible. We noticed that they were extending their carry out service and decided to create our own intimate Italian restaurant at home and order a carry out. The outcome was excellent with very decent food there for collection. (They also have a delivery option). We rang in our order which was quick and efficient (menu on website). I paid by card over the phone and collected the order 45 minutes later. The food lived up to expectations .Two very nice pizzas with melon and prawn starters. I would recommend anyone to use this service from an excellent restaurant. I will look forward to visiting Valentino's when they open again but in the meantime this carry out service will be used again in the near future.

Really enjoyed our takeaway at Valentino’s over the weekend. Starters- Garlic Bread with Cheese and Ribs Ribs were full of flavour and taste. Garlic bread was nice but lacked heat. Main Course- Meat Risotto, Pollo Milanese and French Fries Both meals were excellent. Potions were huge too.

Dined in here last night and the food was amazing! Great service from the team too! Really buzzing atmosphere and would definitely recommend.

The food was very good, unfortunately the seating is very close, you feel very cramped at the table and can hear everyone's conversations, not very good if you want a private conversation.

People complain that they only do the same menu with only 15 or so choices...and that’s true, but they are great meals, beautifully prepared. Great service and reasonable prices. Thoroughly recommended.

A very special family birthday was spoilt as the online menu does NOT state that birthday cake cannot be eaten in the restaurant and yet when one opens the actual menu you are instantly met with the first page in large red writing that although you can bring a cake in, you cannot eat it!! As a family with individual parties parting after the meal my daughter was left with a very large and expensive cake to take home for her self as there was no way that it could be cut up in the restaurant. The online write up specifically state that they cater for celebrations. They knew it was a special birthday and yet when booking this was not brought to anyones attention. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! AND DELIBERATE!! We were offered a desert menu after having been told that we could not eat the cake, and after instead of staying and ordering coffee and ice-cream to go with the cake - their loss we left. This was after being surrounded by customers waiting for a table. Not acceptable when one is trying to finish a meal in private. Food okay, took a long time to come even though it was empty when we arrived. Staff friendly but harassed. Far took many covers for the size of the room with staff pushing passed constantly. Not a comfortable dining experience.

Avoid this place at all costs!!!Went here for a family meal tonight and the lasagne was overcooked burnt and the bottom of it stuck to bowl and very dry!! Politely mentioned this and let me tell you they don’t like bad feed back!!! The lady behind the bar area didn’t like this!! She is very rude i mean how can you burn a lasagne?? Will definitely not be going back but if you do go!! Be warned don’t complain about the food!! Really really bad customer service!! Shocking!!

Seriously, it needs a deep clean. Before an overhaul, a major improvement in food, including the simplest of dishes and ditching the cress dressing. If you like your food 70's style its lovely, if you would like real Italian food and an above 1 hygiene rating, go somewhere else... Pizza Hut?

Italian food as you may have experienced anytime in past 30 years, no gimmicks, no need to if they can produce good quality food at reasonable prices with a great family atmosphere. Thank you for your service and smiles.

Came here with my boyfriend, and we ordered the ribs to start and pizzas for a main which were lovely! Although we were served by two miserable almost rude waitresses who seemed like they honestly couldn’t care less. Would prefer to eat somewhere with a warmer welcome!

We have been wanting to try Valentino’s for ages finally found a time . Booked for Saturday evening booked for 7 pm arrived at 6 54. Unfortunately table still occupied told to come back a little later (no where to wait as it’s only a small restaurant and it was packed)came back at 5past 7 table still occupied people just finishing and waiting to pay , still nowhere to comfortable to wait so stood near the door . We eventually sat down and received the menu ordered a bottle of wine and a jug of water that came quickly. Ordered our food garlic bread to share and a couple of pasta dishes which arrived soon after food was hot and staff were friendly. BUT we found that because the restaurant is only small and it being crowded the noise that other people were making made it difficult to hear what we were saying never mind thinking . We enjoyed our meal but don’t think we would go back again . Food good , Staff friendly . Good choice of food and drink . Not expensive. Don’t think there is any room for wheelchairs or buggies as the isles aren’t very wide . No car park but on road parking and public car park over the road from the restaurant

This restaurant is amazing. Restaurants come and go but Valentinos stays 5 star. Same decor and atmosphere with great food quality and service. Still family run. Would recommend to anyone.

Visited on Saturday for a 70th birthday celebration of a good friend. He had chosen the restaurant as he visits frequently. I rang them on Thursday and asked if it was ok to bring a balloon and cake and was told that was no problem and i called in on Saturday 45 mins before our booking to drop them off. When we arrived for our reservation the balloon was on the floor and the cake on a chair. I discretely asked the waiter if he could take the cake for later and he said that he would check. Then a waitress came over and asked loudly 'is there a birthday cake?'. The surprise was totally ruined. Sadly on opening the menu the first page tells you that they will bring a cake out but do not allow you to cut it which was not mentioned on the phone. Therefore the full cake went home with the birthday boy unboxed. The food was lovely but I would not eat there again due to the service.

The ribs and garlic bread, never fails to please. Whenever we have family get together we return to Valentino’s for just this course. The place never changes and why should it, continues to provide quality to the neighbourhood. A must for local families

when you are disabled restaurant dining can be difficult. Whenever we go here we ring the day before and ask if they can allocate us a table with "some room" most of their tables have chairs back to back. We particularly asked if we could have a window table or one with similar room. I must add this has never been a problem in the past. However having been told yes although we had to clear the table by 8.30 we arrived on Friday night to find the table we requested occupied. Nothing else was suitable and my wife was both disappointed and embarrassed at what seemed to be some confusion. We left went home and had no meal. They serve the best steak Rossini I've ever had so very disappointed myself. I wish they had simply said they couldn't accommodate us in the first place then my wife wouldn't have had to make the real effort to get herself there only to be disappointed.

We've been eating at Valentino's on and off for around 20 years now (when in the area) the restaurant has always had a popular following and it never fails to be busy. Our pasta dishes were satisfactory but what has happened to the pizzas? I wish we'd taken pictures as they resembled cheap frozen supermarket fayre. Looking through a number of the pictures posted by other visitors it seems it wasn't just a one off. Awfully basic food. Definitely won't be returning, seems people are just happy to be eating on 'The Moor' awful.

We've been coming as a family for years. The food is always delicious, I can echo all of the great comments on the ribs, they even offer the rib sauce as it's own dish to have with garlic bread :).

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years and I have never had a bad meal. The ribs are outstanding - the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant is small and authentic and the service is always on point. My favourite main is the tortellini which I would highly recommend. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Fantastic restaurant with the best ribs in the world! Steaks are huge and cooked to perfection and if you ask for a sauce there is enough to last from the first mouthful until the last. It is a small establishment and the menu has been almost unchanged for 25 years but is varied and plentiful. My favourite place to eat in the UK.

It’s a bit of a throwback to the 1980s inside, but a lovely little venue. Had the cannelloni and a pizza (which was very small compared to usual places). Would go back again though.

Came here with 4 friends who live locally and have mentioned this place to me previously. It's a small family run pizzeria doing what you could probably describe as a menu of pretty standard pizza/pasta dishes, so I wasn't expecting anything really exciting - but what I, and all of the party, received was all freshly prepared, efficiently served and very tasty, and reasonably priced for the quality. Will definitely be returning!

Once again disappointed by my meal at this restaurant. I ordered the sea food pasta. The presentation was dreadful there was hardly any prawns and what there was of them they were small chewy over cooked and definitely not fresh as weren’t the mussels ,there was hardly any squid, there were two mussels it was bland, the sauce was stodgy it was in fact awful. Just the same old mess I had last time . Very disappointed ☹️

Food and service was good, prices were reasonable compared to all the other over priced establishments in Heaton Moor. I will be visiting again very soon.

Went on Saturday 15th of December for my Mums birthday meal, the place is very cosy and it’s a nice atmosphere although people getting past seats and tables is a squeeze. We all enjoyed our food my only complaint is the portion sizes they are a little on the small side. The ribs are amazing very nice indeed, the onion bread with cheese is also delicious! Overall good experience xxx

We went to Valentino as was suggested by a friend who goes regularly there. It is owned and run by a family......and it shows. This small, cosy, friendly restaurant serves food personally prepared by the owner and is excellent in its quality freshly made dishes. Garlic bread with tomatoes was an excellent starter with Bruscheta. Main course was Pizza, pasta all made to order were superb. Being vegetarian did not have ant problems. Deserts were also very good. Only be careful when asking for extra toppings as they are not cheap. Not sure whether all the cheese they put are vegetarian, therefore check before you order.

Cuatro de nosotros entramos a las 6 - 30 esperando que el lugar estuviera vacío, para nuestra sorpresa, ¡el restaurante estaba casi lleno, vibrante y ruidoso de buena manera! Bueno, esto es la cocina de la vieja escuela, pero funcionó y a todos nos encantó la comida. 3 de nosotros teníamos sopa Minestrone y uno de nosotros tenía paté. Esto fue seguido por 4 platos de pasta, de nuevo no nos podemos quejar. Todos muy de los años 70, pero en flor encantadora. Teníamos vino de la casa que estoy seguro que no aprobaría el premio al vino del año, sin embargo, nos gustó.

I’ve been going to Valentino’s for over 25 years and although the food is the same which is great as I love the garlic bread, steak etc. I’ve noticed over a period of time that the staff are just down right rude and becoming more belligerent to the customers. I was sat next to a couple whom I overheard their food order, when it came through -you could tell it was wrong and the staff were not interested. They blamed the couple!!!!!!! The couple were sooo embarrassed and you could tell the staff had spoilt their evening. I have increasingly watched the staff ignore people and you can see the customers trying to get their attention and they’re just standing there. I’ve had bad service, lack of drinks, waiting for parts of the order to come out - I’m sorry to say that I have given up on trying to get a nice meal ambience from Valentino’s.

Please I urge anyone reading this to ignore some of these terrible reviews because Valentinos is a great great restaurant, with amazing food, a nice atmosphere and a great varied food and drinks menu. I go here very often, and have NEVER had even one bad experience which tells me that it is a brilliant establishment. One of the best eateries on Heaton Moor and I shall definitely be returning very soon once again!

Great food, service in a cosy traditional restaurant. We went there to celebrate friends birthday. Just a great evening. The ribs are amazing.

The pizza was great and the ribs were fantastic. You should definitely go and try the garlic bread. I recommend the place and the staff were great too.

We booked a table for 13 late and was made up we got in the food was brilliant every dish was bang on but the staff were unbelievably rude saying things like we all need to just leave and find new jobs they were giving people at the table dirty looks spoilt birthday cake being brought out because they tried to do two at once we had barely just finished food people had left table for toiled and to have a cigarette we hadn't asked for cake to be brought out yet and when questioned bout it we were told it policy to bring out afder meal we was going to order more drinks and dessert but the staff had begun being so disrespectful and rude we cut the meal off at that point and ordered the bill Wich we had asked to keep the bills separate which isn't hard to do they just write on separate prices of paper but they couldn't do that! When we were trying to go up and pay group by group the staff were tutting and rolling there eyes and sly comments I feel sorry for owner to have such rude vile staff working for a restaurant that's food is brilliant sorry to say we wouldn't ever step foot in there again and every one of the 13 people were so shocked by there behaviour

Visited Valentino's with friends for a catch up and had a lovely meal. Great service and food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back

We came to Valentino’s for my parntners birthday, on arrival everything was lovely, the young lady serving us, although inexperienced (another waiter told us this) was very polite despite her lack of knowledge. We ordered and the starters came which were lovely (garlic mushrooms) no problem so far. Then came the mains, my partner had the carbonara which was adequate at best, I opted for the veal Milanese, there is really no other way to describe this than disgusting, i had to literally use three napkins to soak the pool of oil off my plate before I had even started. I had two mouthfuls and had to stop as it was very very greasy, I do understand how Milanese is cooked but I do not expect it to come straight from fryer on to a plate? At least on to something to let some of the oil drain off, it was soggy and bland. There was no check back done despite my full plate being placed at the end of the table, when my partner finished the young polite waitress came over and I told her and showed her what I thought wasn’t right about the dish, she apologised of sorts and took the plates away, when we were asked for desserts we declined and asked for the bill, when we received it the veal was still on despite me not really touching it, when I spoke to the first waiter he took the bill away, he returned a couple of minutes later placed the bill back on the table and told me “I have spoke to the chef and he said that’s how it’s cooked but if you don’t want to pay you then don’t” he then walked off, a bit shocked and disappointed the second waiter then came with the card machine and again I explained and asked to see the manager to which I was told there was no manager working. So the response to a former review of speaking to customers face to face isn’t entirely true. I then had to work out how much the bill was minus the main course as they wouldn’t give me another and we paid and left. Needless to say we will not be returning. Bit gutted to be honest as this place has held fond memories for a few years. Saturday night and no leader on the floor? Poor way to run a restaurant, at least have staff who can handle complaints effectively.

We celebrated our son's birthday at Valentinos, which I must confess is our favourite restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere is always fabulous. Thanks to Rossi and his team for making every visit so special. We used to live near the restaurant but now rerturn regularly from 20 miles away. All the food is fantastic... but a starter of extra-crispy garlic bread and ribs is our favourite and unlike anything available elsewhere. The mains are also fab... our favourite restaurant and our benchmark for quality.

booked a table for my Birthday meal at the end of March. No complaints with the food, just the waitress (the older, chubbier dark haired one) who was very rude to my Dad (he only asked a simple question about dessert). She pretty much ruined my Birthday meal, purely by her short, sharp, arrogant attitude that was completely uncalled for. My Dad is a generous tipper so she missed out due to her lack of professionalism. We wont be returning to Valentinos which is a shame as we have been going there as a family for years.

Visited with friends. Food was very English none authentic. The pizza was tiny and very average. Garlic bread was nice . Cramped and requested the table at 8.30 for another sitting. I won't be going again

This place has been on the Heatons for many, many years and holds a special place in the hearts of Heatonians young and old.

Happened to be in the area early on a Saturday, and other family members had recommended valentinos, just got a table. Had excellent garlic bread, canaloni lasagne and salad between us and chocolate fudge cake and cappuccino to follow. Nice ambience in bustling restaurant, has a great meal and will be going again soon. Waiters and waitresses friendly and helpful.

We had , egg mayonnaise, which literally was a boiled egg with mayo on the top,The bruschetta was bland.Tortellini tasted like rubber no seasoning, the cannelloni again had no seasoning We told waitress the food was tasteless and she took 10% off the bill Nothing like authentic Italian food , I can't understand how this place is so busy the food we had was like mushed baby food.

Been coming here for a couple years now and it's definitely the best Italian out there! The food is spot on, my favourite is the tortellini! The garlic bread and ribs are to die for. The atmosphere is lovely and the decor makes me feel like I'm actually in Italy, very authentic. The staff are always a pleasure. I can't understand how this place is still going...The food served was bland, poor presentation and some of the ingredients were debatable.The decor is very dated, some would call traditional but the place is in need of a lick of paint

I'm sorry if I offend any regular customers here, but honestly I don't know how this place gets away it. Haven't seen a menu this retro for a long long time. Egg mayonnaise as a starter? Come on.My pasta dish was suspiciously hot. Felt like it had been freshly microwaved. Might as well have gone over the road to Tesco - tasted like a ready meal. Service was pleasant.

Once again great food and service. We have been dining here for 20 years plus. We remember when it was Byards.Always welcomed and looked after by the staff.

Been here a couple of times and both times we have enjoyed it. You are made to feel very welcomed when you enter and they make a fuss over you. The food is good Italian food and the prices are good value, they do a happy hour which is between 5 & 7pm during the week which appears very good value. They must be doing something right as a remember this place being open many years ago when I use to pass through Stockport. Keep up the good work.

We and all my family have been regular visitors to Valentinos for many years. We have never once had to complain about an issue with the food, which is always first class. The garlic bread is the best you will ever taste. The first time I saw the ribs come out, I thought the chef had burnt them, how wrong I was! They are the most delicious tasting ribs you can ever have and appear to be a particular favourite with most of the customers. As a family we have tried most things on the menu and have always been impressed. The staff are attentive and treat you very well. Well worth a visit!

Visited Valentino's on Tuesday evening, never have I seen this restaurant which says a lot about this place. Small and traditional inside with an extensive menu and specials board. The ribs are absolutely delicious, cooked slowly and lots of Valentino's signature sauce. We all had pasta for main course except my eldest son who had pate and extra sauce.£49.50 for a two course for adults and 1 course for two children plus drinks. Mid range eats but well worth it.Top tip - don't park in the parking spaces at the end of the row of shops the woman who lives in the flats above blocks you in then doesn't answer the door, that said you can drive out slowly between the bollards even though it doesn't look possible at first, mines a Peugeot 308 estate and I made it out.

I'm a big fan of fresh, delicious Italian food, which is something you won't experience at this terrible restaurant in the lovely area of Heaton Moor. I eat out a lot. I review restaurants for a local magazine. I know my food. I hardly know how to describe what I was faced with at this restaurant on a Tuesday night.We ordered the Valentino special pasta. It was described as being pasta with peas, ham, tomato and cream. It arrived looked like something a first year student would knock up with whatever tinned stuff they could scavenge from other student's cupboards on the last day of term. Cat food. Mush. The cream was split and the peas were tinned, soft and flavourless. It was beige and looked nothing like nothing you would be presented with in Italy. I honestly couldn't eat it. We called a waiter over, explained we didn't like the flavour or the look and he just took the plates and told us he liked it. Then nothing happened. Nothing. We sat there with no food, no explanation, no 'would you like to swap it and try something else'. Nothing. We were completely ignored. It was like a Victoria Wood sketch. We called someone else over and asked for the bill to pay for the drinks only. She brought the bill with one dish on it to pay. My dinner guest refused and said it was taken away and we didn't eat it. The waitress said something along the lines of 'we should have said we don't like tinned peas'??She then went into the kitchen as we got the evil eye from the chefs. We paid just for the drinks that we had and she told us 'please don't return here again'. Wow. Trust us and don't worry, we wouldn't dream of it.

Only a small little Italian place but the food is lovely. The spare ribs and their Garlic bread is to die for. We have been going here for the last 12 years and if its Italian food we want, we wont go anywhere else. Love it - see you next Tuesday - all 10 of us :-)

We used to frequent this restaurant every weeks but it has slowly gone down hill overtime.The staff are not particular friendly or helpful, the interior needs a lick of paint and the menu a complete overhaul. The garlic bread as it is served was very greasy and the signature rib sauce does not have the depth of flavour as it used to and at £3.50 for a bowl of sauce, it really should have. You can get superior food and service a couple of doors down and the competing Italian in the area.

Me and my partner love this place! He brought me here on our first date over a year ago and he was so nervous trying to impress me that he forgot his wallet!! We had come in a taxi from home and it wasn't continent to go back to get it as the table was booked for a certain time, but we told the waitress as soon as we arrived and they were fine with it!!! Just took a note of his address and phone number and let him pay it in the morning! So a year later I decided to book the restaurant for our 1 year anniversary (this was in May) when we arrived we were shown to our table, the same one we sat at the year before!! The place is only small so it feels busy all the time because the tables get filled, but I don't mind this. We ordered a garlic bread to start and then I had the carbonara because it's my favourite meal to eat at home and they did not disappoint! We spent a good 2 hours in here and to top it off when we were paying, the girl who sorted our bill out remembered us from the year before when my boyfriend forgot his card!! Hahahaha

4 of us went on Saturday evening..we were served very quickly with drinks..our order of ribs ( delish ) garlic bread and pate was wonderful..3 of the party had pasta optios i had steak pepe which was one of the best steaks i have ever had and cooked to perfection.we didnt have desserts as we were quite full so went straight for coffees and liquers.the coffee was very good quality and very hot..all on all Valentinos was a very good atmosphere brilliant food and fast efficient service..we would return again

Latest visit after watching a film at the nearby Savoy Cinema We've been going here for the best part of 30 years (my wife even started her hen night here!) and it really hasn't changed that much in that time!That's obviously a double-edged sword and indeed the food is quite old-fashioned but it's of good quality and is served in a friendly manner. It does mean that you know what you're going to get and this makes it a reliable place to nip out to for a quick meal but perhaps not a "special occasion" restaurant.Worth 4 stars for what it is though.

After visiting Valentinos for many years we have noticed recently a drop in the quality of the food at times, however it has remained a firm favourite for a family meal or girls night out Sadly, having recommended Vals to my son and his girlfriend for a romantic meal, they have been so badly treated we won't be returning. Having complained about a hair in the food they were merely given a shrug of the shoulders and no apology! When they asked to see the manager the same waitress appeared purporting to be said Manager, still no apology or explanation. They explained their dissatisfaction and were told not to return to the restaurant again....don't worry they won't be and neither will the rest of our family and friends who have been loyal customers for over 25 years.Extremely disappointed in what was once a lovely place for a nice meal....customer service and staff attitude leaves much to be desired

Valentinos has been a family favourite for over 15 years we are never disappointed in both the food and the service.

A bustling restaurant serving a wide variety of Italian food. Very busy but staff friendly and helpful. Good choice of food and had a 3 course meal unusual for me. Food was good quality and cooked to order so a short wait but despite being extremely busy all tables taken and doing takeaways it was a good experience and value for money. We had been told our table (pre=booked) was available until 8pm but our dessert order wasn't taken until then and we were not rushed. Between diners tables were refreshed very hard working staff. Fully licenced and a great atmosphere can get a little noisy as its small but would go again. Booking essential.

Lovely food from a menu that hasn't changed for as long as I can remember, but that's partly why we go back.

So disappointed with the Food. I ordered Seafood Pasta which consisted of shrimps not Prawns (I needed a microscope to see them) the Muscles were overcooked and rubbery and not in their shells and that was the only seafood in the dish. The sauce was bland. My friends dishes faired no better apart from the sticky ribs. The menu never seems to change. Not good. Service ok.

Went for my daughter's birthday with family and in-laws. We were well attended to and the ribs were really nice. One of the group was a coeliac and they made special ribs which was lovely. Pizza and past a meals are what you would expect, but they were happy to add or amend any selection. Most enjoyable evening.

Disappointing band food, the sort I might serve my kids on a very bad night but not what I'd take them out for. And after holidaying in Italy many, many times this is nothing like anything I've eaten there. desserts were bought in rubbish.

Came on a busy night, had to wait for our table and had a drink at the bar at the side of the tables due to our table not being ready at the time we booked ,very small place only down fall! The place is very well run though and the staff are very friendly! The food was well presented and nice, would go back!

As it was my birthday, my wife pleasantly surprised me by secretly booking a table for 2 at our favourite Italian restaurant. It was amazing yet again. I enjoy dining out, and in the last 40 years or so, have never come across a restaurant that cooks the perfect fillet steak so regularly! I asked if I could ask for a sauce which was not on the menu, and Rossi was happy to oblige, and it was amazing! A wonderful evening, yet again, at Valentinos. See you soon!!

We have visited here on a number of occasions and have always been so impressed by the quality and taste of the food. Every time we've been, it's been packed and this gives a really lovely atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and attentive, making sure that you are happy with your food. Lovely food- we will definitely return.

Been here with my husband a few times since we discovered the place about a year ago. There not a huge menu and the decor is dated but who cares The gnocchi is amazing like tiny little clouds that melt in the mouth and the garlic bread has us fighting over the last slice every timeThe price feels incredibly good value and will keep us coming back time after time. No it's not posh, but we absolutely love it.

My favorite food is indian but I have been here a few times and like what i get, to be honest i always have the same garlic mushroom starter, barbecue ribs starter portion for main and a garlic bread which i really enjoy. My wife as the cabonara and always enjoys it. The drinks have always been fine and its a small cosy place with friendly staff i have always enjoyed it. The only downside for me is that i find italian food quite expensive not just here but in general. Must say dont understand the negative feedback as i have never been told what time to leave or had bad food, it is always busy and you need to book in advance so they must be doing most things right

We have been visiting Valentinos now over three years and have not had a bad meal. The food is good Italian food. Well served in a timely fashion. The staff are low key but polite and on hand if you need any assistance. We tried their spare ribs and garlic bread on recommendation and were not disappointed. We have taken family, both very young and older and everyone highly satisfied. 10 out of 10 Valentino's.

Well firstly, to those of you who write before me - for anyone to think, having a stream of regular customers is a negative thing, well that's a bit daft. People come back because they like it you fools! I have been coming to Valentino's since the day it opened - I think in 1988 . Since then my job has taken me all over the world to Michelin star restaurants and celebrity haunts all over the world. I think I know my food. Some people would say Nobu is amazing, others would think what an overpriced artsy fartsy fancy fish restaurant. It's not about a person having no experience of alternatives, everyone has their own opinion and I try to be unbiased. Valentino's is what we know, its traditional, homely, comforting. Avanti's is a different style of restaurant and of Italian food, with a more contemporary and varied menu. This is what people go there for. People go to Valentino's for a cosy atmosphere and their fix of tasty good old fashioned Italian food. The menu has barely changed in 25 years and even better the prices have hardly risen but that is because their staple business is repeats customers who look forward to their regular dish. For their regulars it's not about being on a fancy night out, it's comforting, local and what they know. I bet, like me that the motive of most repeat customers, is to indulge their craving for a specific meal they love and know - so why change a winning formula. The word "Ooh I could just eat some ribs from Valentino's" must have passed the lips of many people over the years. I love it, people I have taken there have commented how lucky we are to have such a cute, cosy and reasonably priced local restaurant. It has no airs and graces and is what it is. It's not for those who seek modern, fancy, imaginative menu's or a big bustling venue. Don't go with expectations, enjoy it for what it is and you won't be disappointed. I never have been once in what must be hundreds of visits.

We had aimed to eat at one of the many other restaurants in this area, but they were all full and the only place that wasn't packed was Valentino's. So many empty tables wasn't a good sign, but we were warmly welcomed and the service was prompt, friendly and helpful.The menu and the decor were rather dated and old-fasioned. It was like stepping back in time 25 - 30 years. However, the food was very good quality and I cannot fault it. Prices were affordable and I had the impression that many of the diners were repeat customers.If you are looking for modern Italian cuisine, then you will be disappointed. However, if you are happy with a traditional Italian restaurant, then I'm sure that you will be happy.Overall, "Very Good".

The food in here is not the best, all the pasta dishes come with exactly the same sauce and are not authentic iltalian. The restaurant is very small and seating is very close together. The staff are not Italian ..... They're from reddish!! Poor wine selection

Amazing food, amazing service and great night all round. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a good quality Italian restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

Went to the restaurant this evening for a family meal and was very disappointed in both the food and the service. We live locally and this was not our first visit but will be our last. On arrival the staff did not say "welcome", "hello" or even "have you booked?" Anyway, having volunteered the information that we had booked a table, we were shown to our table. Order was taken quickly and drinks were brought without delay. The food was disappointing - the garlic bread was wafer thin and the grease was dripping on the table as it was served. My wife's lasagne was overcooked, my roast potatoes were far from crispy, the carrots were overcooked and when left to swim in the water sloshing around on my plate the whole meal was not very appetising. I think the restaurant is resting on its laurels and is relying on its regulars. This family will return to Avanti - more expensive yes but far better value for money! Oh yes and the staff say hello and goodbye.

Went to Valentino 's with my family, 5 adults and 3 children. As other people have stated, the restaurant itself is very cramped, and we were told that we would have to vacate our table by 8.30pm, but as we were booked in at 6.30, that wasn't a massive issue, but I could see why it would be to some customers. The food tasted OK, nothing special, but presentation left a lot to be desired.The staff however, appeared very friendly. Not somewhere I would recommend.

I have been to this place many times and went again tonight,I have never been disappointed there.As usual, food was delicious and the staff was really nice. I really recommend the rib sauce and garlic bread as starters, we never get tired of it. Our food came really quickly. I recommend this place if you are looking for comfort food and friendly atmosphere,Valentino's not pretending to be fancy and we like it this way !

As an Italian food fan I was really looking forward to try Valentinos but I was soooo disappointed after ging there!. First of all my friend booked with almost a week in advance for a Friday but I dont know why apparently this restaurant is always busy, so my friend booked for 6 pm and they asked her to leave at 8pm, so for me this kind of warning froom a restaurant is new but maybe is normal in the english restaurants, I dont know.We went anyway and as soon as we got in to the place they reminded us to leave at 8pm, ok so much preassure from the beggining so we felt like in a hurry and we couldnt really enjoy.Our table was opposite the fridge so our back was freezing! Then we asked for a starter, main, dessert, wine, beer, coffee and honestly the presentation of the food was messy, the food itself was like frozen food, we asked for a couple of desserts and they were full of cream and cream and more cream. They were hurry us all the time and they served our desserts ten minutes before 8pm and then at 8pm they brought us the bill so even though we knew from the beggining it was a little bit rude but also illogical because they were offering desserts, coffee and then they pushed us to leave the place.Over all the food wasnt good quality, messy presentation, all the dishes covered in cream, lack of flavor and not nice service.
