been using vakas for a few years can not recommend this place enough went for a meal over Christmas with friends food and staff amazing as always highly recommended 👌

My husband & I went for Christmas day. Food was amazing as ever. Ali, Rick & Mo & the team never fail with the customer service & the food is always very delicious. We've never had a bad meal.

We have been using Vakas as our go to restaurant for approximately 5 years, service has always been great with very friendly staff, food has always been amazing and have never had cause to complain. Brilliant restaurant all round.

Amazing food and really friendly and welcoming staff! It will always be team Vakas. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to sit in. They well and truly smash it out the water.

We had been searching for a really good curry restaurant and wow we found one. Vakas restaurant is wonderful, food excellent, service superb, Nothing too much trouble and if you’re not sure of anything on the menu they explain it in detail. Menu well itemised showing prices clearly. They have a car park at the rear, recommend booking, staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend

We’ve been using this restaurant for many years. To dine in or take out. Always lovely and welcoming staff and delicious food. Majority of my close friends and family locally or who live in surrounding areas all share our love for Vakas. Always our go to Indian restaurant.

Ordered food through a well known delivery company. First time I’d tried the food. I’ll start with the good, plentiful fresh poppadoms and complimentary sauces. Delivery was prompt and prawn puree was nice. However most of the flavours in the other dishes were overly sweet and bland. Couldn’t taste any spices and everything was just sweet and sickly. Definitely not for us. The Pathia was not hot nor sour just sickly sweet. The mint sauce sweet. Even the onion salad was mixed with sweet sauce. The naan was bland and had no flavour just thick and stodgy. Far too much sugar in the dishes and very bland. Really disappointing and cannot understand the rave reviews to be honest.

I use Vakas for years but last 12 months not so much as the sauces of curries not what use be . But thought I d give it an other try worse chicken tikka masala ever had use to be a lovely deep red cream sauce and rich taste know more like brown and creamy colour at not much tast of the old masala you so use to be at all even friend my disappointed in there curries two don’t know what happened over last 18 month with curries but am one customer that will becoming back again

We go here at least once every couple of months. Everyone is always very happy to see you, and so helpful. If you ask they’ll often tweak most dishes where possible to be just how you like it. Our friend is vegetarian and there’s always loads for her to choose from. And my wife is gluten intolerant, and again loads she can eat. Never had a bad meal. I’m writing this review as it’s just reminded me, because we’re going back tonight. Can’t wait!

Didn’t go in, but ordered takeaway this evening for a korma and pilau rice. The food arrived promptly, however when I took a bite into the chicken, it was a strange hue of pink, brown and grey! I couldn’t eat it. Pilau rice was hard and cold. Oh, can’t forget the salad, which arrived on a meat? Like? Styrofoam with a single slice of (half) a tomato, lemon and cucumber. Been ordering here for a number of years and the chicken has been rank for some time now. Won’t be returning or recommending again. Maybe 2024 can be the year of improving health and safety standards. Ps. The chicken in the photo is quite literally covered in korma seasoning. Lucky I spat it all out or I’d be in a&e!

I ordered tandoori chicken and it arrived raw. The restaurant was very busy and tried to serve us before we had finished eating our poppadoms. It was my sister’s birthday and her meal had very little chicken and was practically cold. When we complained they offered to change my meal, at that point my sister had been put off the rest of her meal, so waiting for another one was not an option. They still insisted we pay for the food minus The tandoori chicken. Very poor, we will not return. My sister had eaten there previously and had been violently sick but at that point she didn’t attribute this to the food, which of course we do now. The car park is also dark, lacking outside lighting.

Superb! Really good Indian, highly recomend, excellent food, excellent service. Tasty old school flavours. Rated, probably my favorite curry house.

We were served by Ayas Ali who was very attentive and looked after our service. We had a starter each, the shish kebab was one of the best I've ever tasted. I chose a Lamb Bombay a dish that was created by the chef there. What a tasty and satisfying dish. My wife had a Chicken tikka stir fry. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and served with a special pilao rice. The portions were very generous. The total cost of two starters, two mains, a special rice and one Cola drink only came to £38. Thank you once again Ayas Ali and all the staff for looking after us.

Beautiful food, well worth a visit! There was quite a lot of us and nothing was too much trouble. Have recommended to family and friends.

Although the food was nice, the experience was not! The manager was rude and did not make us feel welcome. Rushed us to order saying we had limited time at the table as it was booked for another group in 90 minutes. Then the food took forever to arrive. Waiting for the bill and for a waiter to come and take our payment felt like an eternity! We left 45 minutes after the time the manager said the next booking was due to arrive, they never came because there was no other booking! One waiter opened the door for us when we left and said thank you. That was the most polite any of the staff had been all evening. Very disappointing and no wonder the staff are miserable with a manager like that! We were looking for a place for the 8 of us to meet up regularly, it won't be at Vakas! Will never go there for a meal again!

Visited Vakas for the second time and both occasions have been disappointed with the service the main guy is very cold and unwelcoming I visit restaurants frequently and this is by far the worst , we were pressured into ordering , we weren’t offered desserts or Coffee and the bill was unceremoniously plonked on the table before we asked , the food is good but unfortunately the service is inadequate, I have spoken to other friends and family who have had the same experience at Vakas

Collected a takeway earlier and I am pleased to say that the food was amazing. Can recommend the Balti dishes. Will be back next week.

Ordered a takeaway and not only was the service excellent but the food was simply amazing. Ordered starter, 2 mains and a naan and got poppadoms and salad as well. Will be returning for more very soon

I hadn't been here since lockdown and it blew us away from the initial booking to exiting the restaurant.the staff were extremely welcoming smart and polite the restaurant oozed cleanliness in every nook and cranny.the professional approach to their customers was first rate keen to please and an eye to detail. The meals were lunch piping hot and of generous portions every component of the dishes was to set your palate alive there was plenty of time inbetween courses regularly they checked out your satisfaction but not in a overwhelming way. Nothing seemed too much trouble and we were looked after extremely well throughout the evening the food standard was something that was took to another level !!!!!

Arrived at 6 on a Saturday evening and had not booked, staff were friendly and helpful. From the outside it doesn’t look a lot, decent car parking at rear, but inside is Very nicely decorated and staff very smartly dressed. Fresh chutney tray and poppadoms....

Wouldn’t go anywhere else! The staff are always friendly, polite and very welcoming. They always do the food how you ask for it and as for picky eaters it’s a blessing knowing they listen and take note of how you want the food.

Just had our first order delivered and I have to say this was possibly the worst meal we have ever paid for. Curries were like stew no flavour no seasoning and definitely tasted like tomato ketchup was added somewhere down the line. I work hard...

I have been visiting Vakas for as long as I can remember. I now bring my own children. The food is always incredible and brought out with speed. The staff and service I can’t fault, they are very welcoming and friendly. I always recommend!

Ordered on Uber eats... was told maximum 1 hour 20 minutes... it’s now over 3 hours and counting ... called them twice, both times was told ten minutes away...I’m 5 minutes drive from the restaurant...still waiting!!... off to bed... hungry!!... Shocking customer service, completely clueless...

4 hour wait for food is unacceptable. We tried to cancel after being told it would take 3 hours after payment was taken and were told they would get it to us within 2 hours. 11pm before we received our food by which point we were beyond hungry and the food was cold and average at best. They took the phone off the hook after 9:30pm so you couldn’t even chase order or cancel it. Awful, awful, awful service. Greedy restaurant who don’t know when to stop accepting orders when it’s busy.

Me and my friend went for a lovely meal and it was all nice until I realised after that they over charged us by a lot me and my friend paid £17.75 for a main and a dessert!! Just because we’re teenagers they think they can scam us!

Had a meal here last night, and it was awesome! Very clean and modern inside (for a BIR restaurant anyway) and the service was polite and efficient. Had a lamb tikka naga - not as hot as I expected but flavour was spot on, and girlfriend had garlic paneer chilli - which she reckons was the best curry she has ever had. We will be returning!

Ordered online during the day. Had an acknowledgment email as soon as they were open. Food delivered at the time requested and was amazing. Best mixed grill we've had in ages and the modhu minted lamb aloo was to die for!!! Would highly recommend

Vakas balti has the best food around, the Sunday evening deal - starter, main, rice/naan and ice cream/coffee for 9.95 is a bargain. Have had many meals here including big family occasions and they have all been amazing, with friendly service and delicious food. They cater well for vegetarians with loads of choices and they are always happy to alter any dishes to your preferences :)

First time ordering a takeaway from here. Was meant to be delivered 2 hours after we ordered. After 2 hours and 10 minutes, they updating the delivery time to an additional 50 minutes. After the 50 minutes food no where to be seen. Couldn’t get hold of the restaurant. Finally spoken to someone after 3 hours and 15 minutes and he said it’s only just left. I appreciate times are difficult right now, but be honest with your delivery times and communicate with your customer. Order was eventually cancelled and we didn’t eat, the whole family went to bed hungry, thanks for that. Please avoid for takeaway.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, very helpful, and the Vakas team kindly prepared a vegetarian dish for my husband which is not normally on the take away menu. Ordering of food was easy and our collection was well organised and done well.

After living away from the area for years I returned back during lockdown. I was craving my favourite food. I ordered a take away to be delivered. Firstly the driver was so polite.i then hoped after not having my favourite food for so long it may be a disappointment.all I can say it exceeded all my expectations. Will be ordering lots .when current climate over will be eating there catching up with all my friends. Thanks for excellent food and service

We've been going to Vakas and had takeaways for years, in fact we have their food every weekend, as we love it so much! Tried different places but no comparison. Vakas is simply the best! Delivery always fast, staff in a restaurant/delivering food all very friendly and helpful, must add me and my daughter got celiac disease and staff always advised us on our orders and we never had any problems afterwards, so would recommend it if you suffer from gluten intolerance. On our last visit we went to Vakas with family members and they all loved it and said it was the best one curry they had. Thank you Vakas

My daughter ordered me a surprise chicken tikka masala when Vakas returned from closing due to the current situation, (we live in the same street) I have had many meals from Vakas as a takeaway and eaten in the restaurant over the years and it’s always been great, however, I have to say, this meal was by far the nicest I’ve ever had! It was beautiful! My daughter had pre ordered in the day and it arrived early evening. I would never order Indian food from anywhere else. Highly recommended. Thankyou Vakas!

Due to Covid-19 the first Take Away we have ever had and we must say first class!!.(as we normally dine at Vakas every week under normal circumstances)The food is piping hot tasty and as enjoyable as eating in the resturant it has totally changed my view of a Take Away!! We ordered from Vakas last night (Easter Monday, during lockdown). The order delivery time was clearly stated on their page which gave us the choice to order or try elsewhere. Vakas delivered bang on time. The food was fresh and piping hot. We ate every single thing!! By far the best curry we've had for a long time and the service was excellent. I would definitely (highly) recommend Vakas and will be ordering from there again very soon!!

Lockdown is tough for everyone and a little treat of a takeaway makes it that little more bearable. Vakas has unfortunately been shut for a couple of weeks so when they re-opened on Friday we were over the moon. We ordered online on Saturday morning, paid and had an email confirming receipt. When the restaurant opened they confirmed the order and the food arrived 10 mins early which we were glad of as we couldn’t wait any longer. The delivery driver knocked the door and left it outside the door so when we opened it was there he was a friendly chap. The food as always was superb I run out of superlatives for the restaurant but it’s summed up with the fact we use it for birthdays, celebrations, Christmas etc and not 1 person has ever had any problems with their food. The takeaway on Saturday was as good a standard as if it had just been brought out from the kitchen, it was hot, fresh and beautiful tasting. Thank you Vakas keep doing what you’re doing. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

With all this corona virus going on and being in lockdown I thought I’d give this place ago and iv got to say I text my order through to them and straight away got back to me in a text to say they will ring in an hour, they rang me about an hour later for a card payment which was brilliant as no contact being on lockdown and the time I asked for well it came dead on time no 2 hour waiting like other places I tried and it was the best curry I’d ever had and service was fantastic x I definitely will continue to have my food from the here in future x it was tasty and delicious I told all my family to use these guys xxxx definitely 5 stars from me x Jane howen

Due to the Coronavirus and we can not go out for a Balti Vakas are doing take aways so i ordered a takeaway for me and my family we waited on the car park for them to bring to my car when we got back home and sat down to eat it was a great meal all 3 of us really enjoyed our meal and we will be ordering again from Vakas Balti. Thank you Mo and all your staff for your hard work in looking after us at this bad times . I recommend everyone comes and gets a great meal from you

we have eaten at this restaurant many times and will be back once allowed but for now the 'app' online order and payment system is perfect and really simple to use.

We ordered from the Vakas upon its reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisation from the restaurant was outstanding and respected the government guidelines. As a key worker, working in partnership with the NHS this saved me from having to cook and the food was of excellent quality. One of the best takeaways I have had and giving the circumstances I wasn’t expecting such high standards but Vakas surpassed them all. Big thanks and so much respect for this restaurant during these unprecedented times.

Pre ordered a take away online this afternoon . It was delivered as per order and exactly on time . The driver left it by the front door, and he was wearing a mask .

We telephoned in advance to check for nut allergy information, we were told to advise on arrival. We ordered the food and there was a massive confrontation about one dish being nut free. No plates were given out until we asked, very unusual for a restaurant.

Hadn’t had a balti for a while so decided to go here on valentines night, food was delicious, served piping hot and service was great. Staff were friendly. Will definitely be returning.

First visit here for my mother’s birthday meal 6 people. Owner Muktar went out of his way to decorate the table. So many options and variety of food to choose from on the menu. Food was delicious cannot fault! Atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Staff are very polite and constantly asked throughout the meal if everything was ok which was really nice.

The restaurant decor is great, the staff are brilliant ,look after your every need. Willing to advise any new patrons on what to eat based on their likes etc. The food is exceptional cooked by a fantastic chef (Rumsan), hope I've spelt his name correctly. Can't rate it highly enough. I've been going there for over 20 years.

Went for a family New Year Eve Meal.It was very busy and even thou we had pre booked and to wait for our table. We all had poppadoms, these were nice and fresh and the red sauce was lovely I had the Tandoori mixed grill as my main and must say I really enjoyed it Overall the experience was very good except we sat by the front door and it occasional was cold due to people coming in and not shutting the door behind them. Also they stood right behind your chair, which was not nice. I will go back again as the food to me was very nice and the staff was welcoming even thou that seemed very rushed due to it being New Year.

We have eaten here on many occasions and we are always welcomed by friendly staff. The food is always fresh. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Our age group ranges from 14 to 72 and there is something for everyone. I don't normally leave a review anywhere but Vakas is above what you expect. One of the best in the West Midlands.

Ordered food at 8.15 Food arrived at 10.45 Rice was cold, drinks were wrong and entire order was very late. staff on the phone apologised as best they could, but a horrible experience all in all. Disappointing as i had heard very good things

Last time I reviewed Vakas i gave it five stars, and we have been quite a few times. We visited yesterday with 2 friends that we had persuaded to try it. What a mistake. We ordered 2 fish curries (I can't remember the exact dish) and looking at them they looked like they had been haphazardly slopped onto the plate and moved about a bit not unlike a school dinner, they were also not very hot. I had the special, and wow was it special. Spice OVERLOAD, far too much, too bitter sweet, like the kind of thing you get out of a jar that's so concentrated it needs to be reduced down. The chicken in it was tiny strips and not much of it. I ate the chicken i could find, tried to consume the sauce but failed. The mushroom pilau was also very disappointing, not much mushroom, and the mushroom there was, slightly under-cooked. Seriously Vakas, what the heck have you done in the last few months? Changed your chef or something because these dishes were so disappointing I was so embarrassed i had to apologize to our friends. For now, we most definitely won't be returning or recommending it to anyone. The manager did knock 10% of our bill, we could have made a big issue out of it further but we didn't want to ruin the night for our friends. Saddened and disappointed.

Terrible told not to deliver before 11.30 waited till 12 then the told us it was delivered at 11.15 no one in so took it back They delivered it back at 12.35 stone cold and asked for extra £3.20 never again

I can’t fault this place, this was the 2nd time I’ve ordered food and both times it’s been bang on. Would definitely recommend the tandoori chicken main :)

Staff excellent helpful and friendly the chef ali recommended a chicken on the bone meal for my husband and my son and I had lamb dishes all the food was exceptional. Service quick and efficient all our dishes came together and the presentation of the food was perfect.We all agreed it was the best Indian meal we have tasted.Will definitely return and highly recommended it.

Was recommended this place by a friend. Amazing food. The quality is always the same. So tasty. The baltis' taste the way they should. Never had a bad meal or service.

I've ordered from here 3 times now. The food is always really nice. But the staff are beyond rude and unhelpful, as I've just seen everyone else is mentioning. With the amount of competition in the area you'd think they want loyalty but the staff are thorough see you next tuessday's.

The staff are possibly the worst staff ever in the restaurant industry. The staff make Judas look like a great guy. Avoid.

Disappointed with the loyalty card farce as I had collected the required 4 stamps in 3 months, went to use the card a month or so afterwards to be told it was out of date and that the 5th meal had to be collected within the 3 months also. No mention of this on the card at all, only that the 4 stamps need to be collected in 3 months. Not great service, makes you wonder why bother collecting stamps and staying loyal to one place when they'll do anything possible to save giving you money off anyway.

Ordered a take away for the first time from here. It took 2 hrs and 10 in total. Rang over 100 times and was engaged. When we finally got through we were told the driver was just leaving and would be 5-10 minutes. No attempt at apology was made, instead the person on the phone was rather rude! 20 minutes later and still no sign so, after being met with more continuous engaged tone after trying to call again, we started making our own food. It then arrived but we sent it back - at above 30 pounds for 2 people we couldn’t justify paying this for such poor service!
