The Balti Cottage in Dudley

Had an order on just eat. Spent a fair amount of money. Had a dry dish and asked for the salad and some extra mint yoghurt sauce. On deliver no salad and no sauce. When I called restaurant they said the charged for the salad and sauce. Lovely food but don’t expect any extras. Staff never on phone wasn’t helpful either

Really nice curries, hot and very tasty, generous portions too. Even the free popadoms were beautiful & fresh unlike other places . Definitely rate this place.

This was our 3rd Visit Positive: The food is lovely and tasty (though rather too hot this time). Price is reasonable. Negatives: (1) 1st impression is the carpet which is indescribably filthy, no way would we bring friends here. When we sat down the waiter was complaining that they were short staffed -there were people at 3 other tables, they soon left and there was only 1 other table occupied when we left. (Friday night?) (2) Had to go and find someone to ask for water- waiter was sitting playing on his phone . (3) Had to go and find waiter to pay the bill, again sitting playing on his phone. (4) They only take cash Although the food is really good, the staff are friendly (when they appear) and the restaurant is within walking distance, doubtful if we will be going again.

Food was ok but delivery showed 30-45 min so I ordered and it took over 1 1/2 hrs. Didn’t really want to eat that late. Will not use again.

Hi sorry to say I used to love this place but i am sad to say it hasnt got the quality of food it should have anymore needs improving .

We had a take away last night and it was the best curry we’ve had in ages. We collected it after placing our order and after getting home, dishing it out, we couldn’t wait to get started. The food was plentiful, and very tasty. Clean plates all round - what more could you ask for. Will absolutely be back. Kate, Neil & Jessica

Lovely food great delivery, I ordered 3 Fanta and only received one, my partner took the order at the door and wasn’t aware. Apart from that great food

Turned up at 5pm.dooe was locked so we waited for 5 mins.the man in there just ignored us so we sat in car till we seen him open the door.it was cold in there so he sat us next to radiator and a small heat fan It took approximately 25 mins before he took our order.not impressed with food or service.i had chicken sagg masala.it was full of spinach more than chicken.didnt enjoy it at all.wont be going back.

Had a balti delivered tonight ,it was cold and an hour late . We phoned the restaurant only to be told they are very busy-not our problem they took payment for the food it should have been delivered on time. Well cold curry gone in the bin , hubby off to work now

Food was lovely as always. But the original delivery time slot of 5.45pm turned out to be 6.45pm which meant we were rushing the meal.

Another tasty and yummy curry, rice and naan bread. Good value, service and a nice, polite delivery driver.

Food got delayed twice took about 2 hours for delivery and forgot some of the order

Tandoori mixed grill & Biriyani are really good.

10 of our lovely family again to our favourite Balti Cottage. Staff great and friendly and the food is fabulous, we all loved it. My daughter doesn’t eat Balti but they cooked her a fabulous steak, nothing too much trouble.

The curry wasn’t anywhere near what we usually jade watery tomato sauce . Not at all like a tikka Balti

We had a lovely Indian however we was gutted when we opened the bag and there were no chips and they were ordered. Apart from that a brilliant take away.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Food was top class and service was excellent. Hadn't been for a long time but was not disappointed. Restaurant was packed but didn't affect quality of food or service. Definitely recommend it and will be returning

Excellent service and really tasty food. Eaten in many times, and food is always top notch, so this was our first delivered takeaway, must say was not disappointed.

Popadums where soft and no good. Rice was missed off order but a replacement was sent although 15 mins later.

Once a month, I like to treat myself to a takeaway. I chose Balti Cottage as I know the food is very tasty and yummy. The portions are generous and good value.

Excellent food and a friendly relaxed atmosphere

Unfortunately, Poppadoms were soggy, chips were over cooked, birryani was greasy... vegetable sauce was nice..

Quite surprised how early it was sadly after having a few meals from Balti Cottage they have got worse, seem to lack the quality they once had, food was bland and the poppadoms albeit complimentary clearly weren't fresh and had been cooked in old oil, might give them a miss next time

A bit disappointed this time, the food was only just warm, the salad was hotter than the food & the poppadoms were soggy. Usually such lovely food but sadly didn’t enjoy this time

Our friends always come over from Aldridge to visit us in the Balti Cottage, over 15 years now, had another fabulous meal, well worth it, all empty plates. Prawn cocktail starters fab and meals lovely. Be back in July or another birthday treat. Xx

My takeaway arrived in the time I had requested it was hot, tasty 😋 and the portions were just the right for me. I have eaten in the restaurant and ordered on several occasions. I am very particular where I eat. The Balti Cottage is a nice place to eat and the staff are polite . I would rate this restaurant 10 out of 10.

Always a good meal, had special byriani, which comes with a lovely veg curry and ordered a mixed tandoori starter, the bag was heavy and was given onion and salad free with poppadoms, all for 13 quid Happy chappy

Worst curry I’ve ever had the Baltis were watery and tasteless , the rice was like slop never ever again it went straight in the bin

Food very disappointing, we didn’t eat hardly anything. Never had a Balti where the lamb was mince meat , No chunks of lamb. Chips was cold and keema nan was battered. The grill meat was hard not cooked. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Disappointed as was hungry, waste of money.

Best curry we’ve had in a long time and affordable too!

We had items missing. We waited an hour over the time given, but even the time given was over 1 hour 30 mins. The food was cold when it arrived. Disappointed as this was my favourite Indian takeaway to use.

Food was delicious, poppadoms were unfortunately inedible due to being very soft. Never happened before. Otherwise no complaints amazing every time

We had our Christmas party on Saturday. Once it came, the food was really delicious, nice and hot. Poppadoms were really crispy, and side dishes very fresh. Everybody enjoyed their meals.

Poppadoms we’re stale, sheek kebab was too salty to eat, wrong drink was delivered.

Went down like an absolute treat. Only to minor things the poppadoms tasted like cardboard and the fish in the mixed tandoori kebab had that many bones I. I had to throw them away and just eat the meat.

Balti Cottage Kingswinford was always a failsafe restaurant for a lovely meal. Not anymore I'm afraid. They are suffering from a change in chef in my opinion. We have given this restaurant more than enough chances to pull back the quality they once offered but unfortunately they have failed again, miserably. Quality of food is fair, but the taste which once opened your taste buds has long gone. Two chicken Balti's ordered differed so much in taste and colour one can only assume two different cooks had made them. When questioned the manager said the chef was the same! This difference has been apparent on 3/4 previous visits but we've ignored it and given them the benefit of the doubt, but tonight I questioned it and was assured it was the same chef! I ate my meal because I was hungry, only complaining after I'd finished because I didn't want to wait and eat at a different time to my wife. Even after my concerns were raised, the bill wasn't reduced, Neither was an explanation given as to why this had happened again. When the calling customers fall away they will wonder why, they will only then realise that they are at the beck and call of the delivery merchant's that only pay them a small percentage. Look after your calling customers is my message, especially in these strange times. Not only has the taste gone, we have too. Never again, BOOM.

Very poor ingredients tough over cooked chicken which is surprising as we ordered at 5.00 pm which is there opening time and as such should be freshly cooked. Over the years we have spent hundreds of pounds here but never again !

Had a biryani and jalfrezi plus starters. The chicken was tough & chewy. Pakoras were disappointingly small (and not many given). The mains were not enjoyable, jalfrezi was very garlicky and the biryani had v little flavour. Couldn’t eat them.

Food brilliant but delivery driver knocked the door as my son was going to the door he put his head through my window which I found disrespectful as I had my 7mpnth old daughter crawling round in her nappie NOT HAPPY WITH THAT AT ALL
