I don't come this way very often and only recently noticed that the Monsoon had gone and it was now the Wordsley Tandoori. A quick look at the reviews, but more importantly the photos, and I thought I should give it a try. The only negatives seemed to relate to take away meals but that's always the case, and why I don't have them. Friday night and it was very busy, I am not sure if this is the norm but it's always a good sign. It's a long narrowish dining room that's clean and tidy with proper napkins. The gents toilet possibly best described as work in progress. A pleasant welcome and straight into the poppadoms which were crispy with varied and generous chutney tray. The familiar Bangladeshi menu covers all the bases with some interesting specials, although we played it safe. The shared sheekh kebab starter was excellent, indeed I would happily go back just for this alone. The clay pot and balti mains were as good we've had and there was nothing wrong with any of the sides. The photos speak for themselves. The service was a little slow, but it was full and it wasn't an issue for us. Overall a great night at a very reasonable price. There's a car park right next door on the left which I missed at first. You can still take your own alcohol although some seem to think that this extends to soft drinks.

Awful. An hour and half late. As expected, our food was cold because it had been sat waiting. This was confirmed by the restaurant when I phoned to see where the food was.

An hour and a half since ordering still no food yet. Ridiculous. Wouldn't ever order from here again. I’v edited this to add a good food review as felt harsh, but still being an hour and a half late and not sending an item that was also agreed over the phone is also poor service. Shame.

Quality as usual never disappoints

We ordered a delivery via their website on a Saturday night. We were given a time of delivery and this proved fairly accurate. The food was tasty and hot, pops could of been crispier. No real complaints from us and we will use again. The price paid was fairly competitive and we felt it was good value overall.

Yet again very poor delivery service Over 1hr ,30 mins 2nd week now service is very poor and slow need new staff be a good idea

superb quality food, delivery a little late this time but driver very apologetic and I understand that sometimes busy so not a problem. 1 item missing but only a drink so didn't spoil the meal. food was fantastic.

We ordered food via Just Eat (hence no star rating for atmosphere), as we have done on a number of occasions previously. Food arrived 5 minutes before the chosen time and was piping hot. The delivery driver was great, very polite and pleasant, speaking to both myself & my partner. Food was delicious!! Would recommend *****

We've visited here the last 3 Friday evenings, Really enjoyed our food. Had a few drinks in the local pub, then got a cold bottle of wine from the little Sainsburys, which is conveniently placed over the road to take in with us. Nice staff, friendly service. Very tasty food. Enjoyed our Chicken Tikka Korai (had sagg rice not on menu but will cook if asked ). Reasonable priced good food and you can take your own drinks in. Definitely recommend trying.

We had a takeaway today it was delicious as always, my only complaint is why did you take the KING SAMOSA of the menu the curry in a nan is my favourite dish and as its now not on your online menu we have to use the phone to order and ask you to make it and that means pay on delivery with cash which is a pain as i often fancy your food but cant order as i dont have cash to hand lol #bring back the king samosa.

Been a few times now over the past year and the food has always been spot on, very friendly staff and great service. Good portion sizes and tasty food, plenty of seating available inside and a small car park next to the restaurant.

Strange visit. We were the only ones in there that evening (sat) so lacking atmosphere. Food was good service was too. Gave the waiter a tip who just run off to the till without thank you. No hand dryers working in any toilets which was a bit annoying. Not sure I would go back.

This was awful, the kebab was swimming in grease and tasted horrible, no naan although the menu states it comes with naan. I have heard good things from here, maybe i just got unlucky

Brilliant driver and food superb

Small intermate restaurant that serves really tasty food. The menu is varied with a great selection of new and authentic food that's not seen in your every day Indian restaurant. The thing that really makes this place special is the attention and the welcome that the staff make with you. I will return again and again passing many other curry houses to go to this one.

Just had a meal at Wordsley Tandoori. Have been here a few times but must say this evening was the best service and meal ever! The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us ... the food was excellent! A definite 10/10 from start to finish! Well done all x

Visited for a Friends Birthday Meal as a party of 7. Great food and service from the team. Meals plentiful and a cut above local similar type restaurants . Ventilation very poor with smoke from the kitchen permeating through the restaurant. Also the noise from kitchen door constantly opening closing and banging very annoying. Waiting staff very polite.

Waited 2 hours for food to turn up and when it finally arrives, it’s freezing cold

We visited as a group of 3 adults. We were warmly welcomed arriving at around 5 so didn't need to book. The menu was large with plenty of choice. It is not licensed so sainsburys is close to go to for drinks. We had poppadoms with a good selection of dips. We had starters of onion bhaji and meat samosas. For mains we had chicken tikka pathia, deluxe tandorri mixed grill, cheese naan and chips. We all enjoyed all the food one of the best curries we have had in a while. The staff were friendly and attentive. We wil definitely be back. Sorry I hardly took any pictures I couldn't wait to eat it!!

I've been after a new takeaway since the one I used to love closed down.... pleased to say I've found a replacement with Wordsley Tandoori. The food is incredible and so moreish. It all came hot and well packaged too. Can't wait to order from here again. I'd give 10 stars if it was possible. Thank you.

Well worth a visit excellent food and service.

This place is well worth a visit it's staff and the ambience are excellent.Even the Hindi music helps create a traditional Asian feel.I myself being Asian also my first visit here the food is freshly cooked and the taste is very homely.I would recommend it as I have eaten in various Asian restaurants and this is up near the top.Thank you again to all the staff and we will definitely be coming back.Mr Singh.

First time using food had great taste lots of meat ( good quality ) will definitely try again

Have had food here before and delivery has been great. Disappointing tonight. Original delivery time was moved back when it got to the latest option then again didn't arrive, rang and told it was on the way, which it clearly wasn't by the time it took. Food however when it arrived was of its usual high standard, really tasty, goid portions, though needed warming up. Would just prefer a realistic delivery time, at time of placing, even if its 2 hours away. Maybe next time I will collect

We have visited Wordsley Tandoori several times over the years and I have to say the quality of the meals just seems to get better every time! Never had a disappointing meal. Always cooked fresh, so you may have to wait a little longer, but you'll be hard pushed to find a more authentic experience. The staff are friendly and a bar is available, though you are welcome to bring your own drinks. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the decor and lighting are quite stark and the toilets are located upstairs, which may be an issue for older or more disabled people.

Had to wait a bit for food but my goodness, well wirth the wait. Kept me informed of the delay. They were mega buisy. Thanks fir the food we wull be back again soon

Had a message to say food was ready to collect at 19:10, partner got there and was waiting till 20:00. Shocking. Happened 2 Saturdays in a row now, if it’s really busy then be realistic with wait times.

Waited 20 mins longer than the anticipated time and the food was quite bland, I think it had been rushed out to catch up with orders as everyone was commenting how long it was taking. This was the first time returning since an incident 5 years ago where our food didn't turn up for 3 hours, were offered one bottle of beer as an apology, and went home without any curry as it still wasn't cooked. Will probably be another 5 years.

So far the food is one hour and 15 mins late keep getting told its out for delivery, and as yet not here, very poor service.

I paid the bill I was presented with only to be told it was wrong and they wanted more money. Startled by the request the owner of front of house was confrontation and said ‘what are you saying you are not going to pay’ before rolling his eyes at other customers in the waiting areas. He belittled me and made me feel embarrassed. Food was ok, however as a BIR enthusiast I can do much better

We have been here many times and the food is the best in the area. Flavoursome and fresh. Wont go anywhere else

First time for a while but also the last. Food not as good as before, bought the main course half way through starters. Asked them to take them away but came back with them and said must be on the table. The service has gone down hill to what it used to be. There are far better places around. And no where near as busy has it used to be.

Normally order and it's early but failed miserably tonight
