Our friends had been once before, which was handy, as they showed us the topes. There is a good selection of wines which are self service. The ones we chose were good and at reasonable prices. We had a couple of beers as well. We shared a large ham and cheese charcuterie board which was a little disappointing. The meat side was ok but there were only 2 small pieces of cheese. We were going to order more Tapas but this put me off. We would definitely return for drinks.

Great location. Great premises. Great wine. So, why such a poor rating ? The staff ! 3 members of staff- guy behind the bar greeted me as I walked around to view all the different wines in the self service stations. That was good. I had a glass of rose out on the front terrace-2 female members of staff talking to each other and blocking the entrance. Not a word was uttered to me. No recognition that I was a customer paying ther wages ! Lol. A finished my glass of rose, went to the toilet and chose a white wine on my way back. I chose a different table as my empty wine glass remained on my table as their chat continued. Again not even eye contact. You don't go places to be ignored! I would NEVER return. There were only 2 other customers in the place ! They were lucky- they were spoken too! - but, heh, is that lucky ????? Get your act together, please! I was going to have lunch bit we all have a choice where we spend our monet and so I went around d the corner to one of the many other venues and had a great lunch. See later review.

Great very reasonably priced menu with the benefit off having a great wine by the glass fantastic for people watching good coffee

They serve tea in a tea pot!!! For an avid tea drinker, you try and find tea in a tea pot in London. So we had to stay for lunch. As a tapas bar it’s magic. The Cauliflower with spices was fantastic. Meat balls in a rich sauce. Potato bravas full of flavour. Kate the manager was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They had many wines all on tap. Select your glass size, pay and the pour. Nearly 80-100 wines available. A must find for anybody who goes outside of Battersea shopping stadium.

This is a really difficult one because I’ve been there a couple of times before and really enjoyed and have been to the Victoria site This was for my husband’s birthday. They were eight of us I had pre-booked I had advised it was a special occasion. I don’t expect anything but even a happy birthday would’ve been nice. First time I went to this venue was in January we ordered the mixed meat and cheeseboard which was lovely. Couldn’t finish it. There was a lot of meat compared to bread . So this time we ordered extra bread, we were only having a snack because we’d booked dinner somewhere else , there was half the amount of meat that we had previously received in January in both the Victoria site and Battersea . The Victoria site I’ve been to four times and always felt welcomed with a great atmosphere staff really lovely. I didn’t think this was the case in the Battersea.

Good selection of wines but you have to pour yourself with the wine machines. Have not used these before but worked it out. It was a cold day so stopped in for a glass of red . Nice casual place that serves good as well.

Celebrated Hubby's 60th birthday with a wine tasting experience hosted by the amazing Kate. 15 of us were really well looked after. Kate was funny, interesting and knowledgeable and introduced us to some delicious new wines. The sharing boards were tasty. The whole experience was perfect and relaxed even though the venue was very busy. We can't thank Kate enough - she was epic. Will definitely be back.

Very bad experience! Popped in for lunch with some guests from Italy at 1.15pm, a lovely Brazilian girl told us we would have to leave the table by 2pm. We didn't know how the system works (another waiter told us about the QR code on the table) after a couple of attempts we ordered (and paid) at the bar and asked if we had enough time to eat, we were told the waiting time is normally 10-15min and we would have enough time... we were in a hurry anyway. At 1.45 pm a young lady, who appeared to be the manager, very abruptly told us that we should have known better and started telling us it took us too long to order and she wanted the table free at 2 pm anyway... and promptly left. The Lovely Brazilian girl came and told us she would sit us in front of the kitchen... basically at the pass overlooking the staff preparing food. The "manager" told the waitress to serve our food at the pass. We had to carry all our cutlery, glasses and drinks, nobody offered to help. The lovely girl came back and apologised for the situation and asked what she could do, I told her, ironically, that a full refund would have been nice and I would have appreciated them telling us we wouldn't have been able to finish our lunch which is what we were told by three restaurants we had been to before. I also told her I was sorry it had happened to her because she was so nice, but I didn't like the attitude of the "manager" at all! If that wasn't enough, the cook tried to make me feel bad as the lovely girl was feeling unwell as a result of the situation. He also implied that we had misunderstood each other because we had spoken Italian... the lovely girl chose to speak Italian, i've been living and working in London for nearly 20 years, so language is not an issue. I could not believe it! I'm not going to feel bad because you guys don't know how to manage a restaurant and your customers... Horrible experience! What had been a very nice morning with guests had resulted in us leaving with anger and a sad feeling... at a cost of £80. I now understand why some people feel the need to leave negative reviews... I've never left one before and it hurts, but for the benefit of others on this occasion it feels like the right thing to do. Sonia

Last Saturday my family and I went to the Vagabond Battersea restaurant for dinner. We were immediately greeted with kindness by the restaurant manager who found us a large table where we sat on large, comfortable stools. I was immediately impressed by the large selection of hundreds of wines from all over the world, all displayed in the centre of the venue, which you can freely choose from and also drink by the single glass via a card. The room is very spacious and the warm lighting makes the atmosphere pleasant and cosy. The menu is very extensive and the food tastes great and is well matched to each other. It was possible to eat buffalo mozzarella and Italian cold cuts as well as butter, pate and French cheeses. The meat, combined with different salads and sauces, was very tender and tasty. The quantities on the plates were plentiful. It was very nice to meet and thank the restaurant's chef, Altin, who kindly presented all the dishes, bringing professionalism and a smile to us all. The background music was at an unobtrusive volume and the play list was carefully chosen with pleasant tunes of English hits from years gone by. It was a pleasant evening and I will be happy to return

What a great place Melissa was the best server asked her about a wine and she knew what I was taking about Instantly

We were only meant to visit for one quick drink but stayed far, far longer than anticipated. The wines were superb and it was great to have a little taste of wine costing £80-90 a bottle. The biggest problem though was that terrible hostess Melissa🤦‍♀️. She was so attentive, so friendly, so knowledgeable that she made it so difficult to leave. Melissa we’ll be back!!!!

Popped in for some lunch (four dishes) and drinks. Our order took 45minutes to arrive, and it was only three out of the four dishes and no drinks. The food was lovely and very hot. Two of our drinks arrived half way through eating, and the other two arrived after we’d finished eating. Our fourth dish turned up just as we were ready to leave. Staff were semi apologetic, but clearly too busy to care very much. It’s shame the 12.5% service charge is compulsory when you place your order, as we didn’t feel it was justified given the poor service.

We ended up here when we were struggling to find a place for lunch around Battersea PowerStation. We waited at the entrance as it was signed “wait to be seated” even though it wasn’t busy & there didn’t appear to be any staff. We ended up just walking in & sat at a table which was near the counter/kitchen area at the front, there was an awful smell of old fish, not at all pleasant, so we move to a sofa. Whilst on the move we were intercepted by a member of staff who explained the ordering, payment & wine system, all self service. The wine selection is extensive but the red is chilled?! Food is OK, small portions but pricey & not an extensive menu. There were boxes & water bottles stacked by the toilets, not a great look & not safe, & the toilets have to be the smallest I have ever come across. All in all not a great experience, we’ve been to similar style establishments in Spain & Portugal, this place misses the spot. Lastly, even though it’s all self service you are charged a 12.5% service charge!

Back to Vagabond we went! What a fabulous evening of wine and a LOT of laughter! Special shout-out to Adam who was very attentive with us and gave fabulous wine recommendations. See you next time Vagabond…

Went with family who had visited in past and loved this unusual wine bar. It was such an unusual wine bar, like a unique wine tasting of individual choice and we will definitely return.

We went to vagabond wines on Friday on a whim and by Jove I’m glad I did!! We were taken care of by one of the loveliest waitresses I’ve ever encountered. Jessie was a breath of fresh air and was so patient with us when explaining how all the newfangled technology works (it’s wine from a machine, how amazing!). All in all we had great wine; white, red and… ORANGE! And a lovely chat about wine with Jessie. Will definitely be back!
