Upstairs, Dodworth Tap in Barnsley

Called in at the weekend based on recommendations from friends - really enjoyed it. Very relaxed, laid back atmosphere with welcoming staff. Music loud enough to be heard but you didn’t have to shout to make yourself heard either. Just stopped for a drink but apparently they do charcuterie boards etc. Might have one next time as we will return. Dog friendly too.

Booked a surprise party for mine and my wife’s 25th Wedding Anniversary. Outstanding service, staff attentive and couldn’t do enough for you especially Olivia and sunny! I would definitely recommend and book again. Sandra did a fantastic buffet and was extremely helpful.

First visit to the Dodworth Tap with a few members of the family. Excellent selection of beers, cocktails and soft drinks to suit us all. ( delicious baby Guinness ). Very warm welcome from the staff who were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful decor in the downstairs bar and I was told by my niece and nephew that the upstairs was amazing too. Didnt try the food on this occasion but the platters looked gorgeous. Will definitely visit again when down that way.

Real ale - ok, beer selection acceptable especially due to the ongoing pandemic. Five of us visited this establishment last night, we are all in our sixties and have been CAMRA members for many years so I believe we have enough experience amongst us to give a credible review. The beer was well kept and the price was reasonable for this type of establishment. Decor modern, food looks very expensive but as we never sampled these gastronomic delights I feel we shouldn’t really comment on this to much. However we did have a simple cold pork pie from the fridge, nothing special it was just a basic porkie at £2.50 each. Overpriced. Now this is where we all were all had the same feeling. We were made to feel that we were not welcome, the three staff were cold and unfriendly toward us. It was if we were an inconvenience to them for us being there and interrupting their cosy night shift that they were working!. The staff didn’t want to engage in any way shape or form with us. Trying a bit of banter it just fell on deaf ears and the customer service and relations toward us was very uncomfortable indeed. Basically beer good, staff not engaging or very nice toward us - I think this was down to our age - we will not be attending this establishment ever again and I personally will not be recommending any of my drinking companions to go here either. Sorry to be so negative but customer service & politeness is free.

A great evening with fabulous food and great cocktails. The environment is relaxed and comfortable with gorgeous wood panelling and leather sofas. Perfect for a relaxed evening out for couples or a group of friends. Ben and team are attentive and knowledgeable on the menus. Excellent evening 👍

A true hidden gem in the village of Dodworth. Excellent, traditional cocktail menu, supported by good wines and spirit selection. The charcuterie boards are a fantastic addition. Lovely atmosphere, with great service - Beth, Ben and the team are attentive and know their 'stuff'. Well worth a visit!

New favourite little bar Ben & Beth are an amazing duo that go above and beyond to give the best and personal service experience; nothing is too much trouble. The decor is fantastic old school with a twist. Very large selection of Alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks! And let me tell you the cocktails are something else…. Shave and a haircut is a must try! Overall great experience and staff.
