Fabulous Sunday lunch, very tasty pork and beef, and very generous portions. Service was excellent and we were thoroughly well looked after by Phil. Highly recommend.

Upper Deck restaurant is at The Harbour Hotel Christchurch. It offers excellent menu choice and superbly cooked food. The service in the restaurant couldn’t be better. Thank you Phil. We had Sea Bream fillets and fat chips with some delicious buttered greens. If I had to single out anything that could be improved it would be a slightly nicer range of white wines by the glass. But an excellent all round experience.

We left early for what should have been an hours drive to the restaurant but due to road works and nightmare parking we were still 15mins late. That was not a problem but having had a prior phone call from the restaurant manager confirming our booking and then being told on arrival they had no recollection of our reservation was a little confusing. Eventually we were shown to a window table with a sea view which was also strange because that was originally what I requested but was told nothing like that was available However the lunch menu was very good, the food was excellent and the service was faultless. It was an exceptionally warm day and we took our coffee on the terrace overlooking the bay. It is possible to eat on the terrace but the menu is limited. Below the terrace is a nice little garden where guests were also enjoying the sunshine . At one point our waiter asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I replied, we are still celebrating our golden anniversary which was last week. To our surprise we were offered a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate and two slices of cake, a nice touch My wife is an ex professional chef and very hard to please but we both found the Upper Deck had just the right atmosphere and the food was outstanding, loved it

Been several times and it’s always a great experience. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Our server was Phillip and he was very knowledgeable and just nice to deal with. Food was excellent as usual.

Another stay at another Harbour Hotel for a Spa escape. Once more a very good experience. Spa treatment excellent! Dinner was also excellent and very tasty. Our server, Phil, was great.

Absolutely fantastic meal with friends on New Years Eve for a late lunch. Our waiter Danny was excellent and every time we were near finishing a glass of wine he would top it up. Empty glasses from our drinks before our meal were removed as soon as they were finished and he was polite and respectful throughout. Food was incredible. One of our friends is very fussy when it comes to steak and this is the first time we’ve been out with him when he hasn’t sent it back! We’ll be back!

We have been this restaurant a few times now over the years and it just gets better every time. We had a Sunday lunch which was superb. Tuesday night we had the Al carte menu. The choice was really good. As the main we both had Fish and Chips which was delicious. The service there was amazing we were looked after by Xenia part of the team. She was wonderful happy efficient and a credit to your company. In fact all the staff came over as helpful and made our stay here fantastic. I fully recommend this hotel and it’s location we will definitely be returning.

Absolutely outstanding! The food was delicious and the service excellent, staff were attentive and welcoming. We were able to sit on the terrace with amazing views of the harbour, the outdoor heaters meant we were warm and cosy. I cannot wait to return, thank you all.

We had Sunday lunch on the Upper Deck to celebrate a family members birthday. The setting was perfect overlooking the harbour. The superb twice baked soufflé is a must, it didnt disappoint. The Sunday roast was excellent and our dietary needs were taken care of very discreetly. There was an excellent choice for dessert too. Phil, our waiter, was attentive, knowledgeable and very helpful. A fantastic venue and a great team of staff. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect for an evening out with your favourite people. Food is consistently excellent, prepared by top chefs under exec chef Alex Aitkin. Menus change with the seasons focused on local produce especially fish and seafood. Tonight was a summer special, prawns, steak and strawberries!! Delicious. We ate out on the deck, fresh air with heaters on as it was unseasonably chilly. Service was friendly and professionally efficient. Phil was our server, who we had had before, and he adds to the pleasures of the evening. Thanks Phil!

We had a delicious meal at the Upper Deck. We were beautifully looked after by Phil who was so helpful, fun and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the indoor restaurant. Our only observation would be a little more light or better print on the menus most people need to use their phone torches to see the menus. Just a thought.

Absolutely amazing food and service from the team. We had Danni serving and he was awesome, so chill, great advice on the menu and just everything was comfortable and relaxed. We were here for our anniversary as we got married here and the team never disappoint.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. As usual, the service was excellent from our very attentive waiter, Phil. Visited with my daughter, her friend and and her Mum. We had the set lunch menu which was fantastic. The smoked salmon with caviar was lovely and others enjoyed the soufflé. The main course of sea bass with a crab mass was superb as was the pork with risotto. The puddings are very big portions and we had one of each. All were rated a hit. We also enjoyed some cocktails which were the best iv3 had in a long time. Service is also top notch. Will be back.

Had a lovely meal in the Upper Deck; there was a really buzzy atmosphere in the restaurant. We were in one of the booths which was great. Our server Phil was lovely he was fun and really friendly; he is obviously a very experienced waiter which is a rare thing these days. He definitely added to our enjoyment.

We had a surprise family lunch for my wife's birthday. It was the first time we have been to this restaurant, and the venue and the staff just couldn't have been better. Everyone was very friendly as well as efficient, and it was a great help. With our three children + wives/husbands/partners and four grandchildren things can sometimes be a little difficult to organise, but our lunch could not have gone better, and the staff, particularly Daniel, who looked after us, played a key part in that, so a huge “thank you” to all the staff, and we couldn't recommend them more highly. Would give them six stars if we could!!

Stayed at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel and decided to eat at the Upper Deck restaurant. Phil was excellent, friendly server and also helped with recommendations. The cocktails are amazing! Not the cheapest, but I do think worth the money. We would definitely return.

Try to come once a month and every time we have been at the Upper deck, we have had the honour of Phil serving us. The food was top quality and it aligns to the service from the staff. Phil always makes us feel welcome, very attentive, thoughtful and provides an unforgettable experience that you don’t want to leave.

We have been coming to this hotel for 8 years and it always delivers! From the hotel management to the young staff providing the service it remains one of the best hotels and restaurants we have visited. Once again we had a great meal for two and the chef was able to provide a special sauce not on the menu. Thanks to the waitress Nerea for organising this. Look forward to our next visit.

We had dinner at The Upper Deck during a 2 night stay. The food and atmosphere were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the service that we received was second to none. Our waiter Phil was attentive and took the time to get to know us. He is a credit to the restaurant. We also had great bar service each night. The bar staff were great and the cocktails were really good. Can’t wait to visit again.

Table booked for 7:45 however we were a little early and waited in the bar, by 8 clock we were getting hungry and finally after making some eye contact with head waiter we were seated. I had looked at the menu online and remembered there being a fabulous mid week set menu, however what I didn't realise was that it was only served between 6 and 7pm. We chose from the main menu and the food was perfectly adequate and the service was as excellent as ever. However, as you have now made the set menu time restrictive, obviously other diners were more savvy, eating earlier, as the very busy restaurant emptied out pretty quickly as we were almost the last diners by 9 o clock! Making an uncomfortable atmosphere. We won't be returning anytime soon, as making the very good value set menu time restrictive is extremely off putting for a midweek restaurant choice. Poor show.

Staying three nights and found it one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we are world travellers. Service has been exceptional and we hope to come again soon. Service has been up and beyond.

Very friendly staff, dinner menu superb. Hotel has splendid spa facilities and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy. The location near the historic town of Christchurch is perfect to leave the car and catch a bus at the stop right outside the hotel .
