The place is. Dirty tabels always Dirty heating never ond. Door have to be open all the time. Its. Freezing in there you dont. Have. Comfort there is jo chance to enjoy dinner. Customer service is. Shit. 2 woman's that work next to til don't known what they doing always mess the order up. The food. Is. Good. Put. Better to get it delivered at your sofa. At home. ! There is. No card payment leveing. In 1990 not. In 2024

Food isn’t even worth a star. The worse food I have ever had waste of money and god knows the outcome gonna be to my health Don’t know how they surviving feeding this type of food. Ruined my apetite and my families

I jus want to say this was on of my favourite takeaways, however recently they have really downgraded. I don’t remember the last time I’ve ordered and actually enjoyed a meal. Improve your chips everytime I get it it’s hard and cold. So disappointed how much this takeaway has gone down hill I will not be ordering from here again.

Visited this place and my partner seen it on tik tok and was expecting great things however it was an absolute nightmare. Travelled from Nottingham as soon as we arrived it looked a little busy witch is always a good sign how ever as soon as I went in and began to order this is when it all went down hill 1. As I was ordering the customer service was not good the person was barely listening and kept answering the phone orders in the middle of taking my order. 2. Once I had finally made my order I was then told it was cash only no signs up for this and this was not mentioned before I placed my order. 3. I then went to find a cashpoint and made my order over the phone for collection. I was told 25-30 minute wait. 4. 30 minutes later I went back into the store and paid cash I was short changed luckily I noticed and asked for the rest of my money witch was then given to me a customer walked in asked for one piece of chicken and chips and was told 45 mins he then cancelled his order and left. I asked how long left on mine I was told 10 more minutes. After waiting around 10/15 minutes I asked again and was told 5 minutes the donnner had just been put on dunno why this was done 45 mins after. 5. Whilst till standing waiting around for my food another customer came in placed an order took his card out and was not told cash only and made a card payment (I guess they just pick and choose who can and can’t pay card) 6. Finally after around 1hr to 1hr 10mins later got my food no apologise for the delay no nothing began to eat the food. Donner was not amazing the chips in my loaded fires where hard like they had been sat around for ages pizza was okay nothing special kids meals came with caprisons witch where warm All in all if you like to be annoyed and like waiting around and don’t want a decent meal this is the place to be otherwise I’d suggest you avoid

The staff is rude, ages needs to wait, when try to talk to them picking up phone orders. The last meal was raw. Not recommend to order any food. My review was 8 months ago and nothing changed. Told 20 mins wait and still no food.

One of the best takesaways in Sheffield. Very generous in their portions. Very friendly, understanding and really look after their customers. Very delicious food too. Pizza is 10/10

Been going universal since it opened and they've always had god food and service. But since the latest revamp, the food and service has shot up ⚡ I recommend the loaded fries. Jheeeezzzzze. 😋👌🏾⚡

Went yesterday, the order was slightly delayed, and I wasn't particularly patient.... the staff made sure we were happy before we left, they were extremely professional and made sure we were looked after. Pleasant place would reccomend.

My order was completey wrong looked like I had worms on my burger which I dint ask for I asked for a double smash burger an got a single cheese burger with some scappy chips an got changed for the meal I wanted dirty

I can honestly say they do the best pizza's at this side of Sheffield not to mention their chicken tikka sandwiches. Great food,clean shop and always great banter when I collect.

Lady on phone has serious attitude problems and is rude.

Placed an order for delivery at 6.55pm and called at 8.20pm for an update when the food hadn’t arrived. The woman on the phone said the food had left and would be with us shortly. Rang back at 8.45pm and told the chap the address and the time we had ordered. He told me that the driver had been with the food and no one was in which was a blatant lie. We order from this place all the time and there’s always minor issues with drinks missing or sending incomplete orders but it’s never been this bad. Absolutely livid that the customer service I received was someone shouting at me on the other end of the phone telling me that the driver had been to the house when he hadn’t. This is how a business loses a customer. We will never order from Universal again. Extremely poor service. They need a new driver and one that is honest!

Great food as always, friendly staff, I would say that its the best takeaway in the whole of Sheffield. Never had a problem never had a complaint. Try universal once you will go nowhere else.

Food was disgusting tasteless and oily literally oil with a side of burger. Very overpriced and definitely not worth it. The old menu and food was better, the food now is absolutely vile especially the new smash burger I’ve given it 2 chances and I’m never ordering from universal again. What a Shame it’s gone completely downhill

I have been a loyal customer to this place for many years. I love the thin chips, which are crispy and always delicious. Many takeaways do the fat chips which I do not like. If you love thin chips, this place gives a good portion for large size. The pizzas are really good. Generally order a Margherita or Vegetarian. Love how unlike Prime Pizza, this place actually fills their pizzas with sauce and toppings right to the crust. Leaving very little plain crust, and the pizza sizes are quite generous. Service is 5 stays mainly from the lady with the headscarf. She works hard and is very pleasant. Really appreciate how the venue will call you when your Collection order is ready if you order over the phone. The actual interior is very nice after the refurbishment. Very clean with soft seats and customer toilets. The only reason I went with 4 stars, is the prices have risen and there are cheaper alternatives around Firth Park and Page Hall area. I do feel £7.50 for a large Margherita, which has no added toppings, is a bit much. However if you have the money, the food does taste nice and that is why I choose to stay, as long as they don't change the chips/fries.

Can’t really beat these guys Pizzas always warm and fresh and the sauce’s compliment the pizzas really well taking them to another level!!!! Lovely Stuff!

I went in and ordered food. It took a little long to make but I guess that is why it was fresh and perfect. Ever since the new refurbishment the food has been banging. My mother doesn't like takeaway food like burgers, fried chicken etc, but she loved this and this takeaway is now definitely our go to. The quality, freshness and amazing prices are bad news for any competitors. Young lad at the till was nice as well.

before the refurb the service was OK not perfect or fantastic but OK. After the refurbishment and obvious change of staff the customer service is now Absolutely terrible (don't answer the phone and when they do they're rude and aggressive) And not to mention the RIDICULOUSLY OVER-PRICED food.everything on the menu has been raised between £3-7 per item and most of the time the food arrives late and on the occasion even burnt.

This place use to be the go to place years ago but has drastically fallen off post refurbishment. The customer service is below par and the prices are now ridiculous. I understand refurbishment comes at a cost but Where’s the customer loyalty at? Also, not offering delivery for weeks now just collection and in store orders only?! When a refurbishment happens it normally happens for the better not for worse, Big improvements needed!!

I been here many times. The owners are very respectful and have good character and the food is also very nice. However, that guy on the counter (probably in his 40's, baldish head, seen him in page hall rd wearing Sheffield City Council uniform) really needs to sort out his attitude and way of talking to customers. I've had a few bad experiences from him now, at first I thought he was probably just having a long day which is understandable but its happened more than twice where he's served me and had rage on his face and talked in a bad manner when I've asked for some drinks or extra sauce etc. Fix yourself up maty as Universal is well known in Sheffield and I never wish that the business gets affected by people like yourself. Be polite to customers as that is the reason they have put you on the counter. Do your job properly just like you would do elsewhere and have patience with customers.

Absolutely slow service not worth waiting for as food was cold and a couple of ordered items missing definitely need a BIG turnaround as there are many more friendly and better services elsewhere

Fantastic food great service place looks fantastic now its been done up even have a machine to place your orders on so can puck which salads and sauces you are wanting

I think it's disgusting how you are treating your long time customers. Not doing deliveries for people that can't get to your restaurant. I won't be contacting you again and I will never recommend you to anyone. Disgusting

Terrible customer service, no answer when called the takeaway. Decided to go in person considering the takeaway may be busy. Cold/old food that has clearly been there for weeks. Asked for sauce and salad and received neither. Also asked for thick base of the pizza and it was denied. Absolutely appalling service and food. Payed £23 for an ‘apna style’ pizza gave me a few chunks of chicken on dough literally disgusting behaviour from a local takeaway. Old wedges and chicken wings.

I called in to place an order for pizza (delivery). Universal do not have an online menu I can access so I asked for their pizza deals. The boy read out 4 deals, when I asked him to repeat the second option he replied with “listen properly this is the last time I’m saying it”. Online website would be helpful so we don’t need to deal with your rude staff. Also, train your staff better to treat humans with respect

I asked for delivery 5:15pm.but they send delivery half an hour before.and I need to warm food again .

Really poor service, main guy preferred answering the phone to speaking to the customer waiting to be served. Food was slow to arrive and although it was tasty I had stomach problems afterwards.

Food is always AMAZING but they loose a star for terrible customer service. I don’t believe the staff on the front know what “Polite” means. Phone orders are even worse lol. Bad customer service and sometimes they forget to add certain things to your order.

Hujambo fellow Scots, Today we ate at Universal Pizzas, we travelled universally to get here it took us 2 days to finally reach this establishment after a recommendation from our good Swedish friend Phil Mitchell. We got 2 pizzas (one margarita and one spicy pizza) 2 portions of cheesy chips and a chicken burger meal. Now I cannot lie, the exterior was aesthetically unpleasing, but as was the area. The shop front was relatively clean with a nice blue banner, the seating was comfy, courageous and petrol station. We decided to eat inside as we wanted to make friends with bossman (he knows who he is) (then again maybe he doesn’t) he certainly earned a place in my liver. Onto the scran, the margarita pizza was pretty nice, it consisted of cheese and tomato sauce, this is awfully unusual for a margarita pizza. But I loved the change. The spicy pizza should be renamed to not spicy pizza, as per my recommendation I would add another 93.7 jalapeños to it. I can deal with this spice, all because of the fact when I take after my dad and he used to love getting spice on a Friday night. I truly believe the peppers were grown from the ground, which is remarkable for a small business such as this! We ordered one of them as small and one of them as large, they were the same size. Oh well, don’t hate the player, hate the game. I would love to know where they sourced this cheese because it was very warm. The waiting time was a shame and let the shop down massively, I had a timer on my phone and it came to 18 hours and 6 minutes, but I forgot to turn it off after I got my food so take that how you will. We was hoping for some freebie weebies from the bossy wossy but no. Times must be tough! Onto the worst cheesy chips ever, in all my 44 years of living I have never experienced such lack of cheese and respect upon my chips in my life, my wife almost had a heart attack and the kids, well it completely ruined christmas for them. The chips themselves were decent chips, but the lack of cheese is unforgivable in my eyes and ears. It was universally average overall. Finally the chicken burger, it was pretty decent, tasted like a chicken burger. Overall the place was comme cî comme ća, if you speak fluent English, this means petrol stations are fun. Sorry auto correct, this means I would not recommend but I would also not not recommend, but that is only due to me living in Scotland, but for all my Scottish followers if you are in this village then try this place! I've ordered from this place loads and me and my partner always have the same thing everytime we order , 2 days ago it cost us £11 for 2 kebab's and today he's charging us £15+ for the meal we always have and then only charges us £5 if we went in a picked it up shouldn't be aloud to run a business without displaying the right and same price for every EVERYDAY JOKEEE MATE ............

There food is really nice but need good customer service the phone service isnt good the guy that answers the phone be in too much of a hurry to shut the phone off and they are abit stingy on the sauce need more sauce.

We always order as a group. Ordered large mixed kebab, it arrived on time but becase we're busy i didnt open the box straight away. 20 minutes later open my takeaway, i got chicken and chips. Very disappointed

Good food always fresh salad wedges are to die for !

Not happy had to take our order back as it was wrong. Then they redid the order after telling them what we wanted and they still got it wrong. Far too many people working behind the counter and not listening to what you want. Not impressed at all

Food used to be above standard but standards have dropped and staff are rude when food was delivered it was cold and not as expected. I was a regular customer until yesterday now I will have to place order somewhere else.

Universal pizza bar in Firth park Sheffield used to be my go to for food when my kids were younger and I was a busy mom . Occasionally now, I visit there and order takeout , it’s still so good ! They still make the best potato wedges , chicken and pizza ever ! They are very reasonably priced as well

They dropped our pizza on the floor and placed 4 slices (from the one they dropped on floor) on our garlic bread, and had it delivered to us. On arrival the delivery driver told us that they are going to send another delivery driver to drop off our pizza ( this was quite unusual). Went down the next day to find out why this happened and I got told that they dropped our pizza on the floor, they said that then 4 slices of pizza on the garlic bread were from the pizza that was dropped. Very disappointed!!! I shouldn’t have given them 1 star but it was mandatory for me to do so to post this review. Warning no point getting it delivered or even ordering. Plus they keep putting up the prices yet the pizza sizes keep shrinking.

If I could gives this a 0 star rating I would. I ordered burger and chips the chips were all soggy and the burger was not made properly I then asked for a refund and the boss threatened me. Definitely would not recommend.
