Union Fish & Chips in Central Bedfordshire

This is the second time the driver left the delivery on next doors doorstep! Rubbish delivery, driver obviously can’t read numbers! By time found it was stone cold🤬won’t be reordering!

First time ordering from here, would order again, very tasty fish and chips. I love the container with vinegar in it, what a good idea !

Good food. It would be even better if a few vegetarian options were available

I usually order from elsewhere but only Union available so thought I would give it a go and so glad I did! The food was DELICIOUS! Really hot, decent portion, yummy crunchy batter. I am very fussy with fish and chips but been converted and will definitely order from Union fish and chips again - thank you

A friend recommended and I'm not disappointed! The pork chow mein was lovely, not scrimping on the meat. My daughter had battered sausage and chips and was very happy too. Ordered to collect and was ready in 10 minutes! Will be ordering again. Thank you

I’m sorry to have to leave such a bad review. The chips were hard, pale & drenched in salt which made them barely edible. The fish was so greasy and hard. We have had stomach aches since. Please improve the quality!!

The food was great big portions and very tasty and arrived hot and the driver was pleasant Thank you very much hope to shop again !!

The staff were friendly, meal cooked in 10mins...not bad at all, and the portion size was very good, fish,chips,mushy peas just over £9....only negative point is I found the cod a little soggy.....so a good 4/5 stars 🌟

I tried the chips and they had lots of vinegar on it so it tasted amazing the staff where great and overall it was good chips the chips where also a good price so it us recommend

Was a much better chip shop years ago. Inside shop , cobwebs etc don't seem to do much cleaning to this side of counter. And windows. Only went there as Mr chips was to busy. But won't be going again. Till at least cleaned up the shop

Best fish and chips in Bedfordshire

Excellent fish & chips I had Rock which seems hard to come by these days, it was a very big portion & tasted superb my partner had cod & chips which was also a generous size & also tasted really good as she couldn't finish it & I couldn't let it go to waste! Certainly recommend this fish & shop.

This place serves the most tasty fish and chips that I've had in Dunstable. The fish and chips are freshly prepared to order so there's a 5 to 10 minute wait for your food, no longer. The prices are reasonable. The staff are polite and very friendly. After eating my meal, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I was thinking how surprised I was that it wasn't busier. I will definitely go back there and would recommend this place to everyone who enjoys England's favourite take out. Latest update. Augst 2021. Increase star rating from 3 years ago 6☆

Portion size for chips could do with being a bit larger some of the fish not cooked properly

chips were ok- cooking oil was a bit on the old side fish was to a good thickness and gave the right balance between the crunchy batter and the fish

Always friendly and lovely food

Always a friendly smile on entering. Great food and keenly priced when compared to the local competition. I've always favoured this chippy over any others and I see no reason to change any time soon.

Got in there just after 6 o'clock and there wasn't much left,a fish cake 2 sausages and 3 fish.

In my opinion, definitely the best chip shop in Dunstable!

Called in for a take away supper to enjoy the sunset at Dunstable Downs,the shop is only a couple of minutes drive so worked out fine.Great quality and Value, was very tasty,pleasant staff too.Would recommend .

Fantastic portion sizes, yummy chips but fish was a little greasy. Reasonably priced. A little run down but overall decent chip shop grub.

my chips had green mould attaché to them and smelt like feet the fish tasted like rubber and had to much salt on. never going here again

Just needed a snack to get us through the afternoon and my daughter suggested some chips from here, as she always used this chip shop when she worked in Dunstable. They were well cooked chips and fresh, with a nice taste, not greasy.

Solía ser muy bueno, pero el último par de viajes aquí no ha sido muy agradable. Bacalao y pescado muy grasosa (como si recalentados volver en el petróleo, pero no sé seguro). Tampoco parecía o probado muy apetecible. Tarifa no puedes dejar la amabilidad del personal, me temo. No vamos a volver aquí para mí.

Had a takeaway for the family at the weekend. All enjoyed fish & chips, sausages etc. Tasted fresh & good sized portions. Will be back

Siempre vaya aquí para el pescado y patatas fritas, como dice el refrán "cumple lo que promete" una buena relación calidad-precio y sabroso, bacalao cocinado si lo desea y raciones de patatas fritas son enormes! Además todo el habitual es el también.

En un mundo de marcas pulidos y medios social es agradable encontrar un sitio que no ha oído nada de eso. Union pescado y patatas fritas es un poco de lo que solía ser antes todo era tan complicado. Esto es sólo pescado y patatas fritas bien y sin distracciones de esa única finalidad. Al final no habrá en ningún otro sitio como éste en el mundo, así que os exhorto a coger mientras puedas.

En mi experiencia, es sorprendente que nadie es capaz de escribir con entusiasmo acerca de este lugar. yo pensaba que ya tenía el peor pescado y patatas fritas comida en mi vida. Después de conducir fuera de mi camino a probar este lugar (las críticas positivas sugirió que vale la pena), sabía que ahora sólo tenía.

We do not have any take-away very often and probably only have Fish & Chips once a year but we would never go anywhere else. Always have Rock which we order as soon as we walk in & they put it on to cook fresh. Lovely crispy batter with no stodgy gunk. Fish is fresh and tasty. The Chips are perfect. Staff always friendly and efficient, clearly a well organised family business. The place is always spotlessly clean too. We have friends who come from Kent to dog sit for us and they say it is the best Fish & Chips too and look forward to it as part of their visit. Totally recommend to anyone.

A friend recommended this great chip shop and last Friday I tried them. They are the best I know of in the area. The food is delicious, service polite, and it is bright and clean. We will be back soon. Well done.

What can I say about our local chippy on the outside its nothing to look at having a certain 1970s charm. But all you need from a chippy is good good in decent portions at a competitive price and here gives all of this.If you are on the prowl for s decent fish supper look no farther.

Just off the A5 in Dunstable (which is a pleasant alternative to the M1 London - Rugby route) is Union Fish and Chips ...on Union Street. Service was slick and my cod and chips were excellent at £4.60. But note that it closes by 9pm most days.

It may not look like some fancy branded fish and chips restaurant, but the old' man can cook chips to perfection in this family run shop. Crunchy, golden and tasty. The rest of the family offer service that is fast, efficient and attentive. Drop in if you're passing! Yummy.

Love this chippy, great value for money!only problem I find is that sometimes u ask for large chips u get LARGE but other times u get a very small portion for same price

Best Fish & Chips in Dunstable. I have to drive past 3 other chippies to visit the best.

Don't know why this is ranked 17 out of 17 as it is far and away the best chippy in town. It's clean, the family who run it are really polite and friendly and, best of all, the food's fantastic. The portions of fish are huge, it's cooked to perfection and I've never once had a bone. Highly recommended.
