Unico 28 in Richmond upon Thames

Never been here before and had an absolutely delicious meal. A very warm welcome, friendly waiters, fast service and reasonable prices. So glad we've discovered this gem, we will definitely be back.

Served the saltiest pasta ever, 3 of 4 dinners were sent back, I was then charged for 3 dinners , the attitude of the staff was poor when I complained , the bill changed again, I asked for the service charge to be removed. The waiter who I believe is one of the managers snatched the bill from my hand in a very aggressive manner. We received no apology and a semi lecture on dining etiquette.Oh how I laughed. If you choose pizza or pasta this is what they can make, anything else their the fine dining skills do not exist. Spanish restaurant across the road us a better option. The restaurant was busy and it is clear it is understaffed and cannot cope with a full house. The attitude of the staff is what disappointed us most,every chef has a bad day. Never again will we return and would suggest to everyone do not go here, there are plenty of other options available nearby.

Best pizzas in the area. Fantastic service. Do book ahead as they can get very busy. Always my go to on a Friday night treat

Really enjoyed this local village restaurant. The ambience is a strongpoint and whilst the menu is fairly limited - especially in terms of pasta dishes - the range and quality of the pizzas is very good. Nice friendly service too coupled with reasonable prices.

Exceptional is the only word, we have been regulars since Unico28 opened and every time we visit it gets better and better. Tonight was no different. Nothing is too much for the team, we are treated like family every time we visit and the food deserves a Michelin star. Probably the best Bruschetta outside of Milan, the pizzas are perfection, the freshly made pasta is out of this world and the effort the chefs put into every single dish they make is second to none. A very very special restaurant owned and run by the nicest people you could ever meet. Thank you team Unico28, we cant wait to come back...

On Saturday my wife & I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with dinner for 28 family & friends at the restaurant. What a wonderful experience it was for us all. The food was fantastic & plentiful. The service professional, friendly & accommodating. Our Italian friends were impressed with the menu on offer & quality of the food served, as we all were. Throughout the whole process from start to finsh the communication with us was excellent, which made sure we all had a pleasant & relaxed evening. Despite the number of people in our party & serving other customers in the restaurant, we were able to get drinks any time, the food for our party was served together & hot, this was the case for all the courses we had. Finally in this present economic climate we were very happy with the cost & quality of food & service we received. We would like to thank the restaurant & its staff for looking after our party & giving us a fabulous evening to remember.

Came here with the Italian family so no better people to provide critique. They all said how great the pizzas were here. I couldn’t agree more. Really friendly service. Great selection of traditional Italian pizzas served by real Italian staff. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Best Italian restaurant in the Hampton area! We had the pleasure to eat there many times with my family to try different dishes and they never failed I would recommend the seafood pasta and the Diavolo pizza!! They also have daily specials to try.

First visit to this restaurant. Food was fine taste-wise, but my pizza was lukewarm on arrival. Nobody came over to check everything was okay. The place was busy, so clearly there are people who are regulars, but I won't be rushing back.

Some days ago we booked for a table for four for 19.30 on Saturday night. When we arrived at 19.30 there was no table waiting for us and instead we were told that possible one might come free in 15/20 minutes which we knew would certainly not materialise and more likely would be at least 30/40 minutes. Obviously the management at Unico has overbooked or more likely just filled the restaurant with diners not caring is a table or tables had been reserved. Having booked a table we expected a table to be ready Belen if not on the exact time we had booked it for, maybe a few minutes later, but certainly not to be told that one might come free eventually. So totally dissatisfied and annoyed we left and went to a nearby pizzeria were we had a great meal. We definitively will not be returning to Unico.

I’ve had good times at this restaurant. Tonight wasn’t one of them. We booked a table and arrived promptly. The restaurant was packed. People who arrived after us were seated and served first - which doesn’t make you feel like a valued customer, and it isn’t a good start. The starter of calamari wasn’t very good. I realise there’s a cost of living crisis but £9 for the calamari and £11 for 3 king prawns wasn’t good value. When we asked for a little bit of bread to mop up the sauce from the prawns, that was another £5.50. We waited a very long time for our main courses, which were fine. When the bill came, the 15% January discount on food hadn’t been properly applied and we went it back. Once we paid, we were told that we had been given the wrong bill and had to pay more. Anyone can bung a pizza in the oven but it takes much more to look after your customers properly. There are other pizza choices in Hampton Hill and on the basis of today’s visit, I will choose differently next time. Which is a shame because I do get the feeling that the staff are working very hard and trying their best.

I visited Unico with some friends for a bday party. Starters absolutely delicious! Aubergine 10/10, montanarine light and crispy, crocchette perfectly fried and so tasty! Pizza is for sure the best in town I have tried, and I’m Italian, if that can help. Perfectly cooked and superb pasta. I will definitely return as soon as possible!

Nicely welcomed, drinks arrived quickly but then we waited well over an hour for our pizza’s. One of us has asked for a pizza without meat but when it finally arrived it came with ham on!
