Uncle J's Kitchen in Leicester

Struggle to believe that all the positive online reviews are not fake. Ordered from here recently and was very disappointed, poor quality ingredients. I requested mild and it was extremely spicy with poor flavour. Got charged nearly £9 for 4 duck gyozas and only received 2. The noodles tasted awful, I don't know what was mixed in but this was the most unpleasant takeaway my partner and I have had.

I started my experience with the Kinder shake, which was absolutely lovely—rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet. The Fragile Cheesecake shake was equally delightful, offering a unique twist that made it a standout treat. One of the highlights of my visit was the cracked chips; they are truly some of the best chips I’ve ever had! Crispy and seasoned to perfection, they’re a must-try for any visitor. The salt & pepper wings were a delight as well, combining tasty flavors with a satisfying crunch. The chicken noodles were nice, offering a hearty option for those looking for something filling. The white chocolate milkshake was also nice, adding a sweet touch to the meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the honey chili chips; they were a unique and good combo that I unexpectedly really enjoyed. The noodles with crispy prawns made for a lovely combination, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, the absolute star of the meal was the chili oil prawns. They were outstanding—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, making them a dish I’d highly recommend. Overall, Uncle J’s provides a wonderful dining experience that combines great food with a friendly atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal; you won’t be disappointed!

One of the best spicy Indo-Chinese the way we like it..we ordered a combo of 4 and everything was upto the mark and amazing..we ordered Chicken Shanghai, chilli Garlic Chicken and three mains.

The workers treated us very sweet and they served us great food. The atmosphere is extremely comfortable and the staff try to make u feel as comfortable as possible.

Was in Leicester for the day and came across this place on social media. Sayeed was very attentive and welcoming upon arrival. We went for the Prawn Chilli Garlic and Beef Korean BBQ. The food was served quickly, fresh and full of flavour. Will definitely be back again.

Amazing and fast service from Jarrar & Hassan, very kind and explained the size differences to me without complaint and recommended me what to order. Food was ready shortly (5-6 mins) after i ordered and nice interior of restaurant.

We placed an Uber order for pickup, and while the food was delicious, the portion size we received was not large as we had ordered. Additionally, we had to wait for our order despite the app indicating it was ready.

We came all the way from Preston to try thier famous Indo Chick Burger and Crack Chips and the food was on point. Loved the customer service and the owner was really helpful with the menu. I would rate this place 10/10, Indo Chinese King for a reason👑

Recently ordered a “LARGE” plate from this place and i am completely disappointed. It’s nothing like the menu shows. Tasted bad, most importantly, the portion of the chicken and side ratio was crazy. Wouldn’t recommend this place!

The service was amazing and the person taking my order took extra care in reassuring that there was no nuts in the food. The staff were nice and friendly. The only criticism i could give was that one of the dishes that i ordered as hot was quite sweet, but other than that, i definitely recommend!

Uncle J’s on Evington Road is absolutely next level! I tried the Chilli Honey Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, the Salt and Pepper Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, and a portion of their Crack Chips—and WOW. Every bite was packed with flavor. The Chilli Honey Chicken had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, while the Salt and Pepper Chicken was seasoned to perfection. And those Crack Chips? Hands down the best chips I’ve ever had—crispy, flavorful, and totally addictive! The food was fresh, portions were generous, and the service was quick and friendly. Hidden gem on Evington Road! We came as a family and were really well looked after throughout our entire experience. The service was quick and the quality of food was exceptional. We opted for a set offer meal and this was fab for a taste of everything. Order: Cracked Chips ***** Egg fried rice **** Prawn Main (Chilli and Garlic) ***** Chicken (65 Sauce) ***** Tokyo Chicken Bites ***** All of the dishes were spot on and had the right spice and taste. The prawns were fantastic and meaty and the 65 sauce gave it the kick to take to the next level. The Cracker chips were spot on and the crispness alongside the peppers and onions made them a delight. The chicken main in the 65 sauce was great and the added veggies gave it an authentic indo-chinese taste. Overall very impressed and loved the family friendly atmosphere of the place. Thank you to Hasan for the outstanding service throughout. My only regret…. Not having the space to try more dishes. Will surely be back!

Great little place to eat, nothing to complain about. The food tasted great, it didn't take that long for it to arrive either. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Only thing to worry about is due to it being on Evington Road parking can be difficult.

Not often I post online, but this is an exception well deserved. The food was Amazing.... fresh, plentiful and excellent value. The Korean Wings were next level. Don't let the white light put you off. Would highly recommend eating here.

My partner and I live outside of Leicester but make sure we travel here just for Uncle Js. With such a variety of food spots on Evington road it’s hard to stand out but Uncle Js does just that. Catering for my self a meat lover and my partner who is a vegetarian. Staff are very helpful and welcoming to all questions and recommendations….the signature CRACK chips speaks for its self. One of the few places that claim to be indo-Chinese and live up to the name.

I placed the order online for Uncle J’s. I received a phone call telling me to collect my order in 20 minutes. I arrived at the store to collect my order and waited 15 minutes After that at the counter, I was told my food was going to take another 10 minutes. My order was then cancelled and when I had called to discuss the matter, the phone was cut off by the store staff I was trying to explain also when my mother called whilst she was explaining she was also cut off terrible customer service lost a customer who’s been buying food from here for over 2 years

I've eaten at Uncle J's at least 3 times now and a review is overdue, I can safely say the food is great, especially when you're feeling for something indo-Chinese. Great meal deals price wise and the food was very popular with my kids too. I will say be careful when choosing heat level for food as it can get quite hot. Personal faves were the crispy beef and chicken 65 dishes, amazing flavours for sure. Added bonus was the bubble tea variety that was on offer, this just made the evening perfect for the kids especially. Looking forward to my next visit.

Whether I’m in the mood for something familiar or looking to try something new, they always sort me out. Today, I asked if I could try their new donner, and without any hesitation, they made it happen. It’s that kind of service and attention that keeps me coming back. Travelled from Sheffield after seeing this place on tiktok. Absolutely blown away by the food. Every single thing we had was flavourful and cooked to perfection. Most places get away with pairing regular noodles and saucy chicken and selling it as indo chinese, which we still enjoy. However This place is on another level, each dish, particularly the beef, has a depth to the flavouring. The prawns were massive and packed full of flavour with beautiful breading and sauce. Seasonings on point, you can really taste the care that has gone into crafting these recipes. Absolute fire, came with a group of friends and we were all glad we made the 2 hour trek and would definitely come again. Wish these guys were closer to home but it was well worth it. Definitely recommend

I came in looking for a different restaurant, however I was pleasantly surprised by the first and foremost the quality and tastiness of the food; but also the warm welcome and service of the staff (particularly Hassan, Owais). I would definitely recommend this place again and again. If you don’t try it out you are missing out.

I thought this is a nice addition to the halal food scene in Leicester. Ordered as takeout, I thought the food was ok. It is quite greasy so do bare that in mind. Portions are a little smaller than expected when ordered for delivery.
