Uncle B's Fish & Chips in Manchester

Asian lady who serves is OK but Somali guy with curly long hair is very rude and lies about closing time and cannot do his job properly at all I was a loyal customer, but because of him I won’t be coming back

Food was late and cold, would like to request a refund

May possibly be the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Delivery time was I’ve double what it should have been and the food was just solid grease and tasted awful!

Food was freezing hot wings not hot wings wife had to run after driver he forgot the drink won't be ordering from them again. Worse food I've had

The fish and chips were fine but the mushy peas were cold, very watery and peas were not mashed.

Food arrived freezing cold. The large portions of chips haven't been anywhere near a large portion. Very disappointed, not worth the money. The only plus side is that the food was delivered within the time frame provided. Shame it was cold.

Took over two hours to be delivered for only two meals! And came cold.

Ordered from Just Eat. Then, I got a call to say that another branch was going to be delivering the order as that specific branch was closed for renovations. The next nearest branch is Chorlton. This meant the fish tasted different to usual, but not bad, and that the food was only lukewarm by the time it got here. It's a shame as I used to like going to Uncle B's, but I will avoid it until the renovations are complete on the Wilmslow Road branch.

El fish and chips fue una total decepción. La entrega vino con una barra de patatas fritas casi vacía, sin mantequilla, rellena en un bollo de hamburguesa, y para colmo, las patatas fritas se apiñaron dentro del bollo en lugar de servirse como patatas fritas. La llamada gran porción de pescado y patatas fritas era una broma, con solo un puñado lamentable de patatas fritas, como si se hubieran quedado sin las patatas fritas reales. Si quisiera papas fritas, habría ido a una hamburguesería. Este lugar es absolutamente poco profesional, y no puedo recomendar a nadie.

My mother had it, she had loved this place for years and was disappointed for the first time, fish was soggy and tasteless and chips were bad. We understand delivery takes longer at times but we called and felt ignored and no update whatsoever…it’s a shame this place has gone downhill.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Absolutely disgusting service. I would give ZERO stars if it was possible. Food arrived 40 minutes late with no apology from the delivery driver. The food was completely cold. Chips were soggy and mostly uncooked. Fish bites had clearly been fried in dirty oil as you can see from the picture. The"masala fish" was old fish that was dry and had some spice mix on it, not battered. The jalapeno bites were overcooked and also inedible. Uncle B's used to be decent, and have clearly gone downhill. I was also unable to contact the restaurant and deliveroo only gave a partial refund. AVOID THIS PLACE!

I have been waiting for my food for over two hours. Delivery time has changed twice and it’s now late again. I have tried to cancel my order and the phone is being ignored despite ringing more than 20 times. Do not order from this restaurant.

I would discourage anyone from ordering from Uncle B’s. They hire perhaps the worst drivers. Driver claimed they delivered the order three hours after it was meant to be delivered. The order was never delivered. Uncle B’s were not answering their calls for several hours although they were open. Not the best experience and a complete utter waste of my time. Avoid if possible.

the quality of the food was brilliant however it was barely warm for me nearly £19 for one fish and chips I would expect it to be hot, I suspect if the food was ordered and eaten there and then it would of been lovely, the food was on time however the driver was absolutely rude on the phone about having to come to my door the whole point of having food delivered to your door is so you don't have to go out, this delivery driver wanted to me to come to his car 🫣 absolutely not

Wasted all the food, ordered a desi pizza which was burnt and dry and to top it off the donner inside our burgers had white bits in it that was absolutely horrible took one bite and had to throw it away soon as I reported it. Waste of money and uncooked food had to throw it in the bin unfortunately will not be ordering from there again. Very upset just eat can’t offer me a refund this was horrible I have I pictures off the food for evidence doesn’t give me an option to send it them.

the batter stuck to the lid, any that remained was slimy and not edible. the chips were freezing cold as well as the curry sauce

Shocking ordered they cancelled my order over the phone but not on the app then marked it as delivered so basically they jsut wanted the money and it's impossible to get my money back

Perfecto. Lovely, old style chippy, fish & chips. Large portions of excellently cooked, battered fish and traditional style ‘chippy chips’ (not fries). What a treat. Brilliant!

Pls just only sell cakes. Took over an hour and a half and two phone calls to get the most miserable cold undercooked chips I’ve ever seen. The cake was ok but I think my expectations were in hell after the chips so anything after that seemed better than what it was. Don’t waste your life or your money here.

always order with curry sauce, instead today got mushy peas... despite ordering curry sauce as usual... mushy peas are alright, but still not what I asked for! I much prefer curry sauce, hence why I order that instead!

Waited 60 / 80 mins for an initial delivery slot. Still turned up an hour after this. Two lots of fish chips and peas. Could have went fishing myself and still have been quicker. Food itself was OK. Standard chippy fare. PS when I contacted the restaurant they were of no help at all. Will never order again.

I ordered at 1pm . And my food still has not arrived at 2:55pm. I had called the restaurant unable to reach anyone . Spoke to someone at 230pm finally no apology but said the food was with the driver. I have had to phone again at 2:50pm and then told the driver is on his way ? If you cannot fulfil an order do not accept them. It’s wasted my time , my money and I am still hungry finally my food arrived at 2:58.

Food tasted great would love an option to say no spice on food, needed salt on chips or option to add salt and when I ordered a kebab I wasn't expecting a thin like packet bought naan but food tasted amazing thank you 😊

Food was cold, Shiah had soggy batter and stake and chip was missing topping. Service in store was bad been going for years and service has gone down. Girl was busy playing with her hair instead of paying attention to service and quality.

ordered fish and chips and cookie dough and considering i lived 5mins down the road, they firstly delivered late and then when i called to ask wheres my order, the lady on call seeming very tired and unbothered said we had issues with electricity so i dont know and that was her exact words, secondly chips were uncooked, thirdly cookie dough without a doubt was burnt. called 10x to store they dont pick up and finally when they did pick up, they offered to send a new one! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Over a hour since ordered at 12.47pm they been saying driver wasn't available for half hour and then said its coming on the way and yet further 25 mins still not yet here and i tried calling wouldn't answer my calls???

I never received my order, the order was went from received to delivered immediately but no food was delivered.

By far the worst food I’ve eaten in a long time! So much grease on the chips and undercooked. Gravy/curry was just runny water with a colour to it . The pies are terrible and the fish was the only thing warm! Please find a different profession or at least lower your prices to your actual quality of food

Fantastic customer service great food the Massala fish 🐟 cooked just right , the chips could do with cooking until golden brown the pease need soaking over night so they can end up mushy and soft and not like bullets as for the curry sauce to watery needs to be slightly thicker , otherwise everything is OK good delivery service and excellent value for money , I would recommend Uncle B's fish and chips to everyone.

Wasn’t very good sadly. I’d ordered Cod which is a flakey textured meaty white fish. What I received was grey in colour and certainly not Cod! Not very good sadly.

I have never had an order be over 1 hour late from this restaurant it's absolutely disgraceful they need to make sure that when people order they get the order on cooking right away so that the order can be delivered on time. other than that the food is amazing , customer service was great and the food is excellent value for money.

It is now 14:53pm and my order should have arrived at 14:30pm that is why everything end up cold.

I've had food from this place frequently as this used to be a favourite of mine. The food has progressively gotten worse, the food is consistently late and often there are items missing.

peas needs more salt, chips doesnt taste like their was vineger in it, over food was okay
