I booked a table of 15 here for my partner’s surprise birthday meal. The team made booking really easy and helped me out a lot, with great communication. On the day, all of the staff were super attentive, keeping drinks filled and making sure everyone was having a good time. The food came out lovely and fresh and tasted amazing. I can’t thank the team here enough for making this evening so special, they accommodated the large group size really well and made everyone feel comfortable. I could not fault any part of the whole experience at all, the birthday boy even mentioned how lovely each member of staff was, each wishing him a happy birthday at different points throughout the evening. Thank you Team at Una Vita I’m sure we will be back very soon!

we had dinner here at start of walking the Wye Valley Way. The meal was of the highest standard with excellent fresh vegetables for our starter.. Service was effective and attentive without being fussy or overbearing and we were made to feel one of the family. Cannot recommend this highly enough for a great Italian meal

In Chepstow street parking can be difficult at times for folk with mobility problems but here is lovely Italian restaurant on the corner just over the road from a car park for this blue badge holder who can't walk too far. The menu was varied with several items sounding appealing. Staff were very obliging in accommodating a slight deviation from the set menu and it was DELICIOUS. I'm only sorry that I was so full that I didn't have room for dessert. Next time...... Thank you.

Absolute fab service from the minute we walked in until the minute we left superb food for the 10 of us steaks were cooked perfect and the arabbiatta is stunning we went here for my sons 13th birthday and he has already asked can we go back next time really good food and highly recommended they couldn’t do enough for us everything was superb

We had a fantastic evening at Una Vita for an impromptu meal out. Food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. Couldn’t ask for more from a local restaurant!! Fast, friendly service with a personal touch - never had to catch a waiter for a drink refill, very attentive but not overbearing. Couldn’t recommend enough.

So recently under new Management, and this being my first time here, I have to say, it's the best place I've tried in Chepstow so far... excellent staff, very attentive and flexible, amazing food - especially the wild boar tortellini was excellent, and the Una Vita Calzone was excellent with the best side salad which clearly had been made with care and attention. Also, there's a great selection of GIn and Tonic here - the spicy tonic was a hit! Great decor great staff great food all round. Will be back for sure 👍👍👍👍👍

Visited this beautiful authentic Italian restaurant, whilst visiting the area. The owners, and staff were fantastic, couldn't do enough to make sure that the whole party were happy with the delicious food. Family owned restaurant, great for a weekday/weekend treat for the whole family. All the party were made to feel welcome.

A lovely family meal from celebrate a family member's birthday. Despite it being a Saturday evening and very busy, the service was great with attentive staff and food was delicious.

Took the family for lunch here. What a lovely time we had. The food we order was the best I’ve had so n a very long time the staff were very accommodating and the the general atmosphere was really good. I would highly recommend.

my son took me to Una Vita for lunch on Sunday. What a treat it turned out to be! A large car park across the road, restaurant tastfully decorated with plenty of room between tables. The staff obviously enjoyed looking after their customers and the food was very good. I shall be making return visits often and give a huge WELCOME to Chepstow to UNA VITA. Jean

Tried this place 3 times, it is such a shame as the deco to the restaurant is smart & it looks very inviting but the service is appalling and the food isn’t the best.

Had a bad experience here with food a while ago but decided to give it another try. Went for the valentines meal - was given the special 2 or 3 course menu with no other option. Both my husband and I picked the Rib eye - waited 45 mins for it come out and it had no flavour whatsoever. It was supposed to come with a red wine sauce - it just looked like the steak had bled on the plate! No one asked us how our food was at any point. Based on this we decided not to have a dessert, the waitress then informed us we had to have/pay for 2 courses (no where on the menu did it say 1 course is not an option). Then had to wait a while to speak to a manager who was rude - she didn’t apologise or even seem to care what we had to say about it. Another couple sat near to us experienced the same where the main was so poor that they didn’t want the 2 courses - same issues occurred. Wouldn’t recommend.

I’ve never had a worse experience in my life. Went for the valentines meal which looked fab on Facebook. Got welcomed by a woman who claims she was a manager however she was extremely rude and tried claiming we didn’t book which after I showed her the confirmation she got angry. The meal came out and it tasted good however was a child’s portion- decided not to have desert and mentioned to the waiter about how we’d rather go somewhere else due to portions being so small and asked just to have the bill which totalled more than the 2 courses for £28- the couple next to us also had the same issue with their meals and wanted to go elsewhere for dessert. They took the price down to an acceptable price after 45 mins of us saying to them we shouldn’t pay £25 for a child’s size main.The man who worked there and the woman were so arrogant and rude throughout the service and won’t be coming back due to their customer service with us- we won’t be back and nor will people we’ve told about this experience.

After an initial issue which was discussed with the restaurant we returned this evening and can only have positive things to say. The decor is beautiful and in our experience we found the staff friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, tasted delicious and good value for money. The restaurant does seem to get busy particularly on an evening at the weekends so we did book our table for 6pm and cannot fault our visit and would recommend Una Vita

Very disappointed, service was incredibly slow - waited an hour and a half for our food, no explanation given. Food was okay but not amazing. Would not recommend on busy evenings.

We were so impressed of the taste and quality of the food here at ‘Una Vita’ ! I could easily understand that the Chef cooks with passion and the staff are well trained and very kind , willing to offer you the best experience! It was our last night in Chepstow so thanks to ‘Una Vita ‘ team we left with a very good impression! Thank you ‘Una Vita ‘ ! We will definitely recommend this restaurant !

Meal for 5 for a family Christmas get together. Beautifully decorated restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. V clean - noticed it had the 5 stars as well! Anyway, the food was lovely. All five of us had different meals and all five were really impressed - now that's unusual! Generous portions, good quality and well cooked. Staff v attentive ( we had a dairy & gluten free person with us) Also, finally, we came from the Bristol area. It's just literally 15- 20 mins from there. So nice for a change of scenery and parking right outside. Highly recommend!

Nice place and great atmosphere.Service was OK, there were only two people on though and trying their best to serve.Went for Sunday lunch which is advertised at 12 til 4, they had run out despite it being only 2pm (although there was a large table who ordered after us and got the Sunday lunch I'm guessing they pre ordered). Anyway pizza was burnt, halloumi rubbery and the salad even though it was a main was a very small portion.It was OK but lacked seasoning.The chips were good though and good drinks!Beautiful decorations, such lovely decor and friendly staff just the food wasn't great hopefully just a one off!

Very expensive menu, the fool was not hot when it eventually arrived! Starters took over an hour and mains hour and half! Service to the table was not good we have to ask to order 5 times! Waitress was rude only one gentleman who worked the bar had some good customer service

This evening I celebrated a big birthday with family and Una vita did not disappoint. The staff were excellent and the food if possible were even better! This is by far the best restaurant in Chepstow and an asset to the community

Had a lovely family gathering here today, and was so impressed! The food was incredible...had the roast dinner and it was one of the best I have ever had, especially the roast potatoes! The deor and general atmosphere was also lovely and made the occasion feel very special. Thank you!

This venue was booked for a private function as it is generally a nice venue with a good selection of food and drinks and generally ok service. However, for the function is was a really poor experience. The venue was booked and paid for with agreed terms and the owner called a day before the function to say that they would have to charge more because they needed more heads to attend. On the day the agreed area, was changed and reduced to what was agreed prior to the function date. Really disappointing as the agreed area now became a public accessed area with tables seated during the time of event. Tried to speak to the male owner to resolve, but he was very rude, confrontational/aggressive and arrogant about the situation and said that it was his venue and he didn’t care. Further to this, we had a party of approximately 20. We were told we would have to run off a single tab/bill for any drinks / food ordered. Which was really poor as it meant people had to track what they had and couldn’t leave earlier etc and added a whole complication and stress to the day. Positives were that the food provided was really good and the service given by the front of house team was fantastic. Just a shame that management/owner was rude and had a poor attitude towards this. A real shame as the venue is really nice and the staff were good.

We booked for a Sunday lunch, which they are keen to advertise. When we turned up we were told they weren't doing Sunday lunches. There was one poor member of staff trying to meet & greet, take orders, serve food, make and serve drinks and clear and clean tables. Thankfully, for her sake, the place was practically empty. She did a sterling job under the circumstances. The food was OK but not as good as it used to be, and my mains of Saltumbocca was very greasy. We have always loved this place but since the coffee shop has opened it's not the same. The focus is obviously now on the coffee shop. Such a shame.

Nice place but the menu is far too big, and unfortunately the food is morning to write home about. We went on a Friday night and as it filled up the service slowed down significantly. The covered patio is dog friendly.

I loved this restaurant, a truly wonderful find. Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient, lovely atmosphere and the food exceptional. Lovely touches such as gratis bottle of water and breadsticks at the table and limoncello offered on the house sets this gem of a restaurant above the rest

We went here on Friday evening with our children, service was amazing and the food even better as always! I had the seafood heaven, my partner had the pollo dolcelatte and the children had pizza from the kids menu. What can I say the food was delicious the sea food was fresh and everything came out at the same time, we all really enjoyed it and they were quite busy. After seeing some bad reviews about this place I would have to disagree, sometimes bad reviews can be deceiving! We have been going to Una vita for a few years and never had any problems! We would highly recommend Una vita to anyone and we will continue to go there with our little family! 👌

We asked where our food is after waiting patiently a hour and a half and then it came out straight away but weirdly our food came out partly cold and partly boiling hot as if it had been microwaved and drowned in sauce. We called the waiter over and explained we weren’t happy with our experience so he said he would get someone then another waiter came over and just asked if we wanted desert and didn’t acknowledge our complaint then we bought it up and he said sorry (very unapologetically) they carried on dodging our eye contact all night so we eventually called them over for the bill. We then asked to speak to the manager politely who gave us abuse really rude and arrogant, accused us of making bad trip advisor reviews to get a free meal and that we hadn’t spent enough money and a hour and a half to wait for food isn’t long at his restaurant, he had a complete lack of empathy and we were made out to feel we were making up to get a free meal which was not the case. We will never visit here again. Absolutely dreadful!

I have visited numerous times in the past so was looking forward to this evenings meal but after this I won’t be returning. We had a table booked for 7:30 but arrived slightly early and we’re seated quickly with the option to sit inside or outside as there weren’t many other people in the restaurant (maybe 20) then this is where things started to take a turn. We had to wait probably 10 minutes from being seated to be asked if we would like any drinks then maybe another 10 for a food order, after this music was played obscenely loud to celebrate someone birthday, so loud that you could hear yourself talking and I saw one older lady put her fingers in her ears. I’m not sure how long we were left waiting for our starters to come out but after they were cleared we must have been waiting close to an hour for our main course, in which time we weren’t asked if we would like any more drinks so we had to find a waiter to ask (this was the last time we were offered any drinks) After waiting for as long as we did we asked a waiter where our food was so he said he would check, the next time he came out of the kitchen he had our food, coincidence, I think not, the 2 pizzas we ordered weren’t hot like they had come out of a pizza oven they were warm like they had been sat under a heat lamp, I think the risotto had been reheated as it was steaming hot underneath and seemed to have too much sauce with it so it looked more like a rice pudding and the pasta dish had almost definitely been microwaved and poured into a new dish as all the sauce seemed to be on one side and the pasta on the other (not good presentation if it was fresh) that dish was also steaming hot underneath. Now there is nothing wrong with hot food but to be waiting almost an hour and when you ask where the food is it comes out steaming hot it seems a bit fishy. When our mains were then cleared we brought this up with the waiter who apologised and said he would speak with his colleague as the owner and manager had both left, when the colleague came over the first thing he asked was if we wanted any coffee or desserts not acknowledging the comments previously made. We made this waiter aware of what had happened through the evening which he apologised for but even after saying to him that we hadn’t been offered any more drinks he didn't offer to take a drinks order or even get the bill for us we were just left waiting until we asked for it. At some point during waiting for the bill the manager had arrived back to the restaurant so when we paid my friend asked if there was a manager to speak with and was advised it was the man behind the bar. When my friend began talking to the manager to give him feedback from the evening he continued to clean the bar almost as if he was trying to dismiss my friend. I didn’t hear the conversation but could see that the manager had no interest in listening to the issues that my friend was trying to raise, from speaking to my friend after we had left he said that the manager told him that he was just trying to get a free meal ( at no point did we even ask for a discount let alone anything free) and that we were the people leaving negative reviews (not before tonight we weren’t). The manager also said to my friend that the time we waited was fine because we had only spent £80 and this is una vita, as if it’s some sort of Michelin star restaurant not possibly the second best Italian in Chepstow because I’ll be going to Panevino Italian in future and recommend if you’re reading this review that you also do.

Had a very disappointing evening meal with friends after waiting nearly an hour and half for our food. The food was conveniently brought out after we called a waiter over to ask where our food was as it was 45 minutes after our starters had been cleared. When the food came out, 2 of the meals were barely warm and the other 2 were scolding hot and poorly presented. During the whole evening we were not asked once by the waiters if we wanted more drinks or even if everything was ok with our food. It felt like we were completely ignored the whole evening. We called the waiter over to provide feedback on our experience but they didn’t seem to really care and continued to avoid our table for the remainder of the evening. We spoke with the manager to let him know our experience however again he didn’t seem to really care or have empathy for how poor the service had been. We will not be recommending this restaurant and will not be returning. Awful experience!!

I will say, amazing authentic italian restaurant wich we have in our location. We have had an amazing evening with my family and we been very impressed for the dishes...we were feeling the proper taste of Italian food wich we have tasted just in Italy and the atmosphere...lovely atmosphere...Being for the first time we been guided by the staff attender Dan...Very thankful..amazing job and amazing evening...thank you for the Chefs and for the staff

Great food but so slow. 30 minutes to take a drinks order, 2 hours before main course came. Place was almost empty and we had booked.

Precooked two weeks ago table for 8.We have visited and enjoyed the food several times.This time the experience was ruined by the appallingly slow service.

Went there on a Saturday night for a meal. Arrived at 8.10pm and were seated promptly. Lovely setting and decor. Unfortunately service was really slow. Took an hour and a half to get our starters, so cancelled our main course. To be fair to them they didn’t charge us for the starters to apologise for the slow service, and the starters themselves were nice.

An amazing italian restaurant. Gorgeous atmosphere with really stylish interior and surprisingly good music (oldies but goldies!). The staff are great, extremely attentive and pleasant. The food was well worth the money and everything was very tasty. We had the caprese salad, goat cheese, coto polo pizza and the cuatro stagione pizza. All of which were amazing, with a personal favourite being the goat cheese. In short, if you are in the area, it's well worth the visit!

Delightful decor, beautiful restroom, nice selection of dishes for brunch. Enjoyed the cocktails. Tasty food. Good coffee, good service. All in all a very pleasant first visit.

Lovely surroundings, lovely staff but hugely disappointed with the service and food .. been to Una Vita a few times before, but the standard was poor today, and it was quite expensive for what we had.. Very very slow at taking our order for drinks (40 minutes)and then yet again very slow at taking our order for food.. we actually had to leave our table and approach the bar to get someone to take our food order.. The wait for food was long - 1.5 hrs (and the restaurant was fairly empty so not to do with being busy) and when it did finally arrive, the steak my husband ordered was well done which was extremely disappointing when he had asked for it to be cooked medium rare.. Like I said, all staff were very friendly and welcoming, just a shame the service and food were below standard today 🙁..

Visited on the day of the Lionel Richie concert at the racecourse. The food we had was great I thoroughly reccomend. The service however was very poor.

We had a double birthday celebration lunch for 6 adults and 3 children. Beautiful venue with open front. However it was cold and wet and staff had to be told to close the windows as rain was pouring in. We had to wait 40mins before the waiter took our order. Strange as the restaurant was only about 20% full. We decided it was best to give him our starters and main orders at the same time/ to save time However starters didn’t come out for about 20 minutes, whilst waiting for our mains the waiter asked us if we wanted coffee and dessert. We explained we had not had our mains yet. When the food eventually arrived (1 hour and 45 mins after we had arrived) the order was incorrect there were 2 dishes that weren’t ordered by us, the waiter became very defensive and implied it was our fault. He then became quite aggressive but eventually brought the correct orders, by this time everyone had finished and my son and daughter in law ate alone. On the plus side the food was very good, we couldn’t have a dessert because our 3hour parking was nearly up. I’m in my 60s now and my life is too short to go to this restaurant again.

The food is always very good and I recommend the place to everyone that comes to visit in the area. The reason I am only giving 3 stars is the drinks-I have ordered a double rum and coke and that did not taste like it. One of my friends had the same experience with her drink-it felt more like a soft drink than what we've actually ordered.

Lovely dinner spot with good vegan options (not loads but enough) the only thing that let it down was the price of the salad, which was quite basic especially when it cost pretty much the same as the pizza, you'd expect it to have a bit more to it if it's classed as a meal too (maybe add some chickpeas or roasted aubergine to bulk it out). The staff were friendly. Outside, there is a great space to sit and eat when the weather is nice.

Birthday celebration with a few friends, beautiful setting, felt like we were abroad! Our starters and main were absolutely delicious, but was unfortunately spoilt by the £7.95 desert, the Eton Mess was all meringue and cream with one strawberry! The sticky toffee pudding was dry....

Fantastic group meal for six people. We all throughly enjoyed our food and drinks and each meal was tasty and filling. Lovely to sit outside under the cover on a really hot day. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing afternoon. Look forward to visiting again soon.

The dish I had was lovely and I'd gladly have it again. Wonderful combination of flavours. Service was quite slow and I struggled to find someone to ask for a spoon so that I could enjoy as much of the sauce as possible. Sounds like an odd thing to grumble about, but I asked for water to drink. It was a very hot day and a tiny glass was provided. All the guests were seated at the front of the house, which means that the noisy cars zooming past somewhat spoiled the atmosphere.

Went quite late on a Sunday, staff still looked after us, service was fast and food was really tasty, similar prices, options and quality as the other Italian in town

Excellent food! Very well priced for what myself and my grandmother had! Beautiful interior!😍 The reason behind my review specifically is that our waiter Chris today was amazing! Chris went above and beyond to ensure that myself and my grandmother had everything we needed! He was polite, well mannered, very well spoken and made us feel very comfortable! Nothing was too much for him and he was absolutely brilliant!!! Will definitely be returning!❤️

Came for Mother’s Day and waited an hour for starters and then another 30mins for main. Sea Bass came with stuffing!! Food definitely not worth the wait. Either don’t book so many covers or sort the kitchen out as waiting staff were amazing and under...

As previously said by another diner on mother's day we waited an hour and a half to get our starter which was okish we had our main after another half hour or so we would of had dessert but it was to long to wait. We had small children with us who were hungry . I know it was busy but it ruined the day for us . We were over charged in the process my son only had a main meal 24.95 for a beef dinner that was very tough to eat as did my husband. We had been there so long we just wanted to leave . I have eaten here before and it was very nice but Sunday was very much a disaster. Shame .

Very disappointed with the mother's day meal we had today. Waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes after our starter to main was very disappointing. When the main arrived the meat portion was good however there was an extreme lack of vegetables. With my lamb I had two small roast potatoes, one carrot and one parsnips. I left feeling so hungry after the starter was so small and waiting so long for my main I didn't want to order dessert in case that would take an hour also. I would have been happier going to a good carvery which would have been more affordable and I would have not been hungry or needed to wait so long. I have only been to Una Vita's once before and the food was okay. I'm not sure whether it was so lack luster today because the menu was a set 3 course. Really disappointed. The decor was lovely and the interior is nice.

This restaurant is very over priced for average Italian food and incredibly small portions. My wife and I had a pasta dish, (£15 and £20), and my son had a child's portion of cabonara (£9). I really don't think those prices are that bad, except when you see the portions. My son got a very small ball with less than a handful of Penne, and my wife and I not much more. The food took quite a long time to arrive too. The pizza I got for my daughter was a normal size and not too bad, but nothing special either. Don't go here if you're hungry as you'll leave only slight less hungry and much poorer.

Girls fancy lunch out. Nice decor and lovely service. Tried out the fritto misto and pork mains. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were just right.

Fabulous roast dinner thank you - come here when struggling to find pub dinner roast beef on a Sunday! Absolutely beautiful, and quiet atmosphere, baby change and parking opposite free for 2 hours on a Sunday. Photo issued off the broccoli peas and cauliflower cheese, big tasty lovely portions.

We visited here on a rare Saturday night out. Service was friendly but way too slow. Between arriving and our starters being bought to our table took two hours. We both had pasta as our mains. These cost around £14 each and were ok but...

Enjoyed a family celebration here on Friday night and couldn't find fault with anything. Food was excellent, service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed. A good time was had by all and we will visit Una Vita again.

Returning home after a day out in Wales we stopped, by chance ,on Valentine's day and they were able to accommodate 4 adults and two toddlers! Amazing! The restaurant looked magical as it was filled with heart helium balloons. Our meals were delicious , 4 pizzas and 2 valentine meals- excellent tomato soup. The little ones loved their pizza. Our young waiter was efficient and pleasant. Highly recommend. And thank you for making our anniversary special.We'll be back.

This was our second visit on valentines day and once again we could not fault it! Every course was just amazing, the service is so friendly and cocktails are lush. 100% recommend to anyone. The mushroom al forno was the best mushroom starter I’ve ever had.

We went to Una Vita for the first time last week for lunch and were very impressed. Lovely surroundings, friendly staff and excellent food. Now we've discovered this place we will keep returning!

Lovely staff A party of 6 visited late on a Wednesday night lovely service and food Brill cocktails and the two waiters was excellent all night

Fantastic food but we had to wait a VERY long time for it. The starters came out separately, about 15 mins apart. We then waited nearly an hour for our main courses. People who came in afterwards were served before we were!!

A solid Italian Resturant for a ‘fancy’ night out dining. Food always great and the staff are lovely.

Starter and main courses were lovely shame the dessert let it down. We had the Orange Cannoli to share. The cannoli itself was soggy and the cream filling was gritty/floury. The best thing was the chocolate ice cream.

Lovely meal ... definitely be back
