Umi takeaway in Aberdeenshire

I've got to say, this place is nowhere near as good as it use to be. We use to get fine piping hot saucy meals from the place. Sadly, the last few times we've ordered, the food has been dry, hard to chew and give the impression that they were reheated in a microwave. There's a fair noticeable drop in quality and I honestly don't think we'll be going back.

British Chinese that doesn't look like French Chinese...

The chip shop side of this place is dire. Our chips weren't properly cooked and our pie and haggis pudding were overcooked and hard. Wouldn't recommend.

Food was excellent staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonable priced. Would definitely recommend to everyone and we will be returning.

Me and my partner got a delivery and it was cold and hard couldn't bite into it it was soaked with Greese called them to tell them and they were not interested at all will never eat out there again horrible!!@

Cash payment only.... I thought COVID 19 and social distancing killed the cash payment and made everything contactless....clearly not in crudenbay where it's still 1989 Also what "fish bar" doesn't serve fish? Haven't tried the Chinese, did attempt once before but told 60 minute wait even though there wasn't a soul in sight, swung past for a quick chip supper recently and had to wait 40 minutes to be awarded with burger van style chips (clearly not homemade/hand cut), no offer of salt/vinegar and a rather small portion at best. Agreed they have priced their menu cheaply (see attached photo) however calling themselves a fish bar is perhaps overstepping a little considering the closest they offer is scampi which everyone knows is mashed up processed floor sweepings from the fish market rolled in breadcrumb or battered. Just a casual warning to anyone looking for actual fish & chips as a treat you won't find it here unfortunately

Twice in 3 days iv ordered a vegetable curry told them i dont eat meat and received a vegetable curry with little bits of chicken through it. Went back the first time and was told they cooked in separate pans but it could have been a bit dropped off the spoon when they stured the chicken curry told them it's cross-contamination doing that in first place. They must have took the sauce out the pan of chicken curry for my vegetable curry makes me sick.

I bought a chicken and egg dish you got a good helping! was good, slightly dry.

Never eaten here but its clean inside and the people are nice..

What a shambles to nite. They are now doing fish & chips oh my it was terrible 1 hr we were waiting for our Chinese meal. One of the girls serving her manners was atrocious very very r .. ....... ... CAN YOU TELL ME IF YOUR CHIPS ARE FROZEN JUST HAD A FISH SUPPER & IT WAS HORRIBLE FISH SMALL CHIP WERE HORRIBLE.

I ordered chicken balls and it was fish in side and the chicken not cooked

Have used this place for year and loved it. Ordered a meal tonight .. Starter Plater for 2 Batter Chicken Balls with Fried Rice Chicken Curry with Boild Rice Mushrooms in sauce Chips Came home they forgot to put the Chicken Balls in and the chips..... maybe I learning curve with taking on chipper side 2..... but its a pain when the rest of ur meal is cold because u have to drive 10mins back to get what they forgot to give u..... check ur bag in ur car before u leave....

Absolutely gorgeous food and amazing friendly staff. Salt and pepper chips were delicious, special curry was cooked to perfection and pork balls were the best I've had in a long time. Every dish was emptied. Will definitely be back.

Last ate here a year ago got a humongous portion of fried rice ate every last grain of rice it was amazing easily the best scran in the bay bun off the st Olaf and come here delicious food better people

My order came out wrong and when I returned for them to correct the order, a journey of 9 miles. I was accused of tampering with the order. Incredibly rude staff, I will not return.

Good food, tasty, Chinese food as I remember it .reasonably priced and quick service . I would recommend it as a local Chinese takeaway

We were hungry, no, starving, and just about ordered one of everything. The ribs were very tasty, as was the sweet and sour chicken. What was left over was eagerly consumed the next day. No in-store dining, as the name suggests.

This used to provide average Chinese food and that's not a bad thing at very reasonable prices, overall it was good value. However recently prices went up by about 20-25%. Its no longer good value, however it's the only place apart from the 2 pubs to get a takeaway. I wouldn't mind paying more if the standard of the food was improved but unfortunately its still only average.I'd still recommend the takeaway however by making the trip to Peterhead there's better food,better choice,better taste only a few miles away.

Fried rice was white with a few bit of chicken sweet & sour had funny taste. Chips wasnt nice. Best thing was free crackers.

Would be 5 but had wrong order one night and as in life 8 miles away was to far too return

Great food. ... when I phone in my order I don't even need to give my name the lady always recognises me.

Tried this local takeaway after finding a menu at our holiday let the food was really very nice but unfortunately they made a mistake with the starters which was a pity and they did say to call in anytime and receive a refund. I enjoyed the main course of chicken satay which was light and tasty unlike some satay sauces that you get nowadays which are really thick and very bland tasting.

Not friendly staff. Reduced portion sizes and put price up and half the time the foods cold

We ordered a Aromatic Duck, Mini Spring Rolls, Chicken Curry, Vegetable Curry, Honey Chilli Chicken, Fried Rice Noddles and Chips. Couldn't fault any of it, The Duck was very fresh with no fat at all. We travel about 10 miles to come to this Takeaway because it's the best in the North East by far.

Best Chinese around, for quality food. I really hope they don't drop standards as they get busier like others in ellon

Try to get here when it's not peak times because you will be in for a long wait. They don't deliver which is a downfall but the food is delicious and you will pay what you pay in most takeaways!
