Duo Duo Chinese Restaurant in Aberdeenshire

I've been using duo duo for Takeaways for years. It has always been my favourite Chinese but unfortunately this time (and last time) it has been disappointing. The chicken curry was still good but unfortunately the salt and pepper chips were a big disappointment. They looked like leftovers that had been reheated and had hardy any onions/chillies in them. I have had much better salt and pepper chips in other Chinese Takeaways. They really need to improve this big time!

We have been using Duo duo for a while now. Both lovers of Chinese food we cannot fault this take away. Always absolutely lovely and delivered in a very timely fashion. Highly recommended 😋

Absolute Disgrace!! Pre ordered was told running late, that was ok, another 20 minz went by & still no delivery, contacted the takeaway was told it was on route, another 20 minutes passed by & still no food rang & cancelled!!!

No longer sit in, just take away. Good food at a reasonable price

Absolutely delicious piping hot loads off beef in the beef curry and the chicken chow main delicious would decently try again when we back in area

Would not recommend this Chinese to anyone My food took over an hour to be delivered and when I received it. It was stale and cold the curry sauce was watery and very bland

I eat here regularly and I have tried most things on menu and I recommend Duo Duo for a great meal, I also like the set meal (£12.50)bargain.

Went there four guys. First floor was shut off so no tables.

Visited the other night for a chicken curry. Never again, the alarm bells were ringing after getting my order within 5 minutes. The order was obviously hastily thrown together then microwaved, the curry was bland and tasteless (farmfoods would do a better job) there were more onions in the dish than chicken.I would not recommend this Chinese nor will I go back.

Food was very tasty and was delivered on time as well. Only issue I had the missus hates onion and I asked for her dish without onions but it came with them in it. Other than that 👍 will definitely order again.

Shuts at 11.30 Eh......no! Walked down for a meal, based on how good the last one was. Closed at 11pm. A great way to lose business. Went elsewhere

A celebratory takeaway ordered and eaten in double quick time, it had to be good as every last crumb consumed. Excellent meal, great quick service, many thanks to the staff, highly recommended!

Prawn crackers didn't taste fresh but other wise tasted perfect. Ordered in advance and was delivered at requested time so happy with that too.

Food was way too sweet as if a bag of sugar had been put in every dish. It's meant to be savoury.

Fantastic food, prices and service. Large portions, husband couldn't eat all his so they put the left overs in a tub (when asked) and he took it home. Highly recommend Duo Duo.

Only putting up a review as it was due to great reviews that we ate here during a quick visit to Peterhead. Long wait for our starter but can’t complain as it was a Sat. Evening but then our main arrived within minutes whilst I was still waiting on some plum sauce!. Shredded beef tasted of pork scratching- I couldn’t eat it. Waiting staff were busy but helpful and pleasant.Disappointed to say the least, I wouldn’t return even for a takeaway.

Very disappointed and went there on others ratings. Long wait for starter then main course arrived within minutes. Spring roll starter served without dipping sauce - I did get some when requested- again after a delay. Glad of starter as main was fried beef fat - the shredded beef I could not eat. Waiter was cheerful and tried to help.

Food from Duo Duo is fabulous at the moment. Had take away and sit down food. Both very good

Great food the buffet is excellent

I accidentally thought the noodles and bbq mixed together was a good idea, I usually get them in separate containers. There was next to no sauce at all in the tub so the noodles were pretty much dry and unedible.

We visited Duo Duo on our recent visit to Peterhead. The restaurant is really central and the staff are really welcoming and friendly giving it a family feel. The buffet seems to be popluar and great value but we went for individual dishes and everything was really good quality. The portions are huge and we couldn't finish our dishes, but were pleased that staff offered to pack up our leftovers for us to take home. A good restaurant offering great value tasty food.

We had a table for 6 people booked but arrived to find it taken up by another family, but they eventually got us all seated together. With them being so it took 45 mins before we received any food, but when the food arrived it was well worth the wait. All the food we had from the table buffet was fresh cooked and of very high standard and we loved every course we sampled (and i sampled a lot) :-) The muck up with the table and the time we spent waiting for our food have not put us off as we will definitely be back to sample some more dishes.

Pity our table was not ready for when we booked it but the great freshly cooked food more than made up for it.

Good food, large portions,friendly staff, great choices on menu. I highly recommend Duo Duo if you are looking for a Chinese meal.

We happened across this wonderful Chinese restaurant whilst on holiday in Scotland, the food was absolutely outstanding and plentiful too. The staff were very polite and helpful. Got to be one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to.

First visit to Duo Duo we had a fab meal and the service from the two ladies was superb thank you for a lovely evening.

An okay place for a carry out meal

Good food, appalling service. It took an hour to get our main course. The poor kids never received theirs after an hour and a half. We had to swing by McDonald's on our way home to feed them, since we couldn't stay longer due to licensing laws. Portions were small, I left hungry still due to the need to leave and only getting one main course in the long time frame given. If the service was better I'd be very inclined to give it another star. Decor and flooring is quite worn and tattered. Everything speaks.

A big family party went for a buffet on Christmas Eve. Amazingly fast service, good hot food which was tasty and well cooked. Friendly helpful staff that made for a very happy evening

Not bad local takeaway that provides reasonable food at an ok price service seems to be good and the staff seem to be quite nice they can also make some dishes to the customers specification delivery are also quite punctual and drivers are nice upon delivery quite freindly would recommend giving the place a try folks

Not very fast and food isn't as hot as it could be. Also they forgot part of our takeaway order so check heat and contents when your takeaway arrives. We didn't sit in but it was empty when we were waiting

I was in Peterhead for business in a local hotel with no restaurant, it was a grey and cool Sunday evening. I had the chilli crispy chicken strips and pork fried rice from the set menu and it was pretty good. The lady behind the counter was great and really friendly as well. The restaurant was empty when i was there but they had bookings for later that evening for a table of 6 and a table 8 coming later.

Great food. My first choice for a Chinese takeaway.

The main is like £13 for the buffet. when I asked if I could order a few courses (I couldn't decide waht i wanted!) The server asvised for us to get a few for a bargain as it was all included in the £13 price. Food is good, hot, tasty. Service doesn't take too long. Only downside is Inhave been turned away before when there were only 3 tables seated and they said they were too busy :-/

Locale semplice ma molto rapido nel servizio, facendo anche take away. Porzioni molto abbondanti con ingredienti di qualità, infatti vi era un grande via vai di persone. Da consigliare se si è in zona!!

Arrived went to bar to say I had booked asked for drinks waitress came to table asked for proof of age I'm 43 food was cold cleaning cloth and cleaning fluid bottle left on table we were seated at place was freezing no atmosphere had to put my coat back on this place should stick to takeaway food as booking table is a definite no no AVOID IF U DONT WANT ZO WASTE UR MONEY

Visited as a Birthday party of 19 for a full meal. Am amazed how fast we were all served with so many dishes and piping hot.A very enjoyable evening and staff so friendly and helpful

Great food but really really really slow takeaway service.

I ate in but the building not welcoming and a bit grimly furnished to be honest. My meal fine though so my choice if I were here again would be to get a takeaway as only a minute walk from the Travelodge.

This restaurant could be a lot better. Trying to do a buffet on the cheap! Given 1 main plate and lots of side plates, and not offered or given clean plates between courses. The table cloth was dirty on arrival. Carpet looks like it needs...

Yo siempre intento optar a sentarse aquí, ya que la comida se sirve caliente y rápida, e incluso más sabroso de lo llevar. Si es necesario que para llevar el orden, y me encanta la facilidad de ordenar. Normalmente rápido para recoger o entregar. Pedir es mucho mejor! ! Cada vez que voy siempre tengo buffet como puedes pedir tanto como quieras, en una dosis pequeña. Mi marido y generalmente comparten pero para £30 bebidas inc no puedo quejar en absoluto.

We had never been to Duo Duo before. We had the table service buffet in the restaurant. The waiter patiently explained the menu. Starters, soup and main courses for £12.95. The waiter suggested that as the starters were not full portions we might wish to try 2 or 3 each. Then we each had soup. The waiter again suggested that we might try 2 or 3 main courses plus rice and/or noodles. All of the food was really good, fresh and served promptly and hot. The waiter himself was very helpful.I've rated this 5 stars for the food quality, service and price. The decor is somewhat worn, the tables functional. And there was a constant stream of takeaway orders being received and collected. But these minuses are small compared to the other pluses.

I wanted some takeaway chinese and went along to see these guys. I wasn`t disappointed they cook great food here. Thanks for the great food and speedy service.

Went out with the family for a meal on a Saturday night and we were the only ones in the place (For sit-down food). Service was very slow but the takeaways were being rattled out quickly. There was no heating on and the place was freezing. We had to keep our jackets on. Due to the length of time we waited for the food we started to pick up on how desperate the place is for a good clean. The walls and floors are really dirty, with cobwebs hanging everywhere.Also, we were sat at a table near the bar area which is not to be recommended. This is where everyone congregates whilst waiting for their takeaways.The food was quite good but overall, as a family, we will not be returning here for a meal.

We was workin in Peterhead and fancied a Chinese. Found this one food was ok , didn't like when staff start clearing table before we had all finished . Better as a takeaway ..

Have had carry out, don't let this put you off, sit down is amazing, cafe style scene, but great value for money, but great buffet food, but order fresh to table, must try.

Excellent food. We had the buffet choice. Very slow service though & some items brought which we did not order & one we did order was forgotten.

Had another take away from Duo Duo, had planned to sit in, but the restaurant was freezing! Checked heaters, not switched on, and four peopke dining were sitting with their coats on! Really wanted to sit in, but just too cold!!! Please turn your heating on!!!! Take away was great though, ate in our cosy, warm house.

We normally go to another chinese but decided to give this one a try as the other has awfully long waiting times. We were very impressed by Duo Duo and will definitley be back! We decided on a takeaway although you can sit in the resteraunt also.The menu's really good - lots and lots of choice and the prices are very reasonable. We got foof for 3 people for £19 which is really good. We all had different things and we were all really happy with our food. My sister would recommend the salt and pepper chips and I loved the chicken and cheese spring rolls!Service was good, friendly and fast. We decided to collect our own food although they do deliver. Would most definitley recommend.

Was staying in a B&B for a week & didn't know the local area. Did a search for Chinese restaurants & was desperately needing a decent meal. They had nothing vegetarian or vegan on the menu & the service wasn't very quick but they made me a meal with the ingredients I requested & the staff were friendly & accommodating. The food was very very tasty & it was good value for money.

Superb value for money!! The best sit down chinese in the area for sure. Eat as many starters, mains and sides as you like for a low, set price. Some suggestions would be to perhaps include a dessert with this as the other sit down Chinese in town offers this, and also to ensure that there are plenty of waiting staff on hand to run back and forth with all of the different dishes which are ordered as sometimes there can be a wait between courses. However, each and every time we have visited we are completely satisfied with the quality of our food, always hot and taste delicious!! Highly recommended!

This Chinese restaurant offers excellent value for money both to sit in and as a take away. Buffet is a steal. All you can eat for a tenner great value.

Tried this place everyone seems to be raving about so wife and I go quiet night few people in food was ok but not what I would of expected though the staff were friendly only thing I was unsure about was why we did not get clean plates for our main couse had to pinch plates from the other table would I go back unless it in proves no I don't think I would but it's our taste so not for us but could be ideal for other people

This place has the best chicken satay I have ever had! Great sized takeaway portion, and unlike other places it is packed with HUGES pieces of real chicken breast. Fantastic!

Went in for dinner, wasn't very busy but stood at the bar for 5 minutes waiting for drinks. I eventually gave up waiting and sat at the table. 15 minutes later after still not being seen to, although others had been in and served, we left. From previous visits the food is great but having 3 teenage girls as your front of house is a bad idea as there organisational abilities are poor to say the least. Do not think I would be back.

I am an avid fan of Chinese food and have both used the restaurant and the takeaway on numerous occasions. I have to say, I personally do not understand all the negative feedback here, I have been more than happy with the quality of the food each time. The restaurant is quite small but has a nice ambiance, the staff have always been pleasant. Food is usually ready fairly quickly also, my personal favorites are their chicken curry (always quality chicken breast with no fatty bits; a personal detestation of mine, their sweet and sour chicken balls and their spring rolls.I personally highly recommend this Chinese and have frequently taken friend and guests there.

I've used this restaurant a few times for a Chinese takeaway, they do a great platter for two which is good value for money, always fresh & friendly service

Not very good at all alot of the dishes are the same with different name for example chicken chow mein is the exact same as there chicked fried noodles. And there is a considerable difference in price.

Firstly - don't think they have heating. Was sat through a torturous dinner recently and was so cold that I had to sit with my coat on and a friends coat over my legs. No heating and outside temperatures something in region of 5 degrees was not an enjoyable experience. This place could be so much better. The buffet at £11 per person sounds good value but due to the bitter cold the food goes cold within a few minutes. We couldn't eat the main course dish's. When I complained about the food going cold due to no heating the Chinese lady tried to pretend she hadn't realised the heating was not on... She is not blind and the fact a customer is sat with a coat over her legs and wearing a coat while looking at their own breath as the breath tells her the place is freezing. She knew there was no heating! Can't comment on the food too much as we only ate the starters.

Our local take away chinese. Food is great, especially the salt and pepper chicken is a must try. Like the buffet idea as you just order off the menu, as much as you like so its fresh and not sat on a hotplate for hours like a usual buffet.

Went with a friend for the buffet. Wasn't the normal style buffet and slightly confusing. The buffet is actually off of a menu you get to pick some starters and some mains. The portions were quite small and you felt bad to have to ask for any more. I thought the point of a buffet was to pick what you wanted and try everything. Don't get me wrong the food was lovely but I think they should detail what it is your going for before you order.
