Absolutely disgusting, worst Chinese I’ve ever had. chips were cooked in old manky fat, the kung poe smelled awful, like rotten flesh? the chicken was rubbery and my stomach turned on my first bite. really went downhill recently and I won’t be going back. Waste of money as it went in the bin.

Thought that this has really gone down in quality of food. No flavour and very gristly chicken. Ours ended up in the bin as we couldn't eat it.

Was looking for a Chinese to eat in the caravan after a lovely day out and TripAdvisor came up trumps with this one! Lovely curry, we both had King Prawn & fried rice! Will be back when on our next visit to Banchory.

Great takeaway always constant food.

Stopped in past here before the fireworks in Banchory tonight. We both ordered Singapore noodles and chips, Singapore noodles were delicious and the best I have ever tasted. Chips cooked perfectly, would definitely return.

We were on holiday and thought we'd try a local takeaway, and this was pretty good! Really fresh and the portions were of a decent size. Had to drive to aboyne for cash, as the local village doesn't have a cash machine, but I'd say it's worth the drive. 👍

Order vegetable spring rolls that came with beef inside. Crispy seaweed and that had fish through it too. Our order is never on time and never piping hot. Will be avoiding for future now.

The worst curry sauce and barbecue spare ribs I’ve had in 35 years of eating Chinese. I still have a fizzy rancid taste in my mouth 3 hours later

We were visiting the area on holiday and decided to give this takeaway a go. We were abit sceptical after some of the reviews, but we were all more than happy with it. We phoned our order in ahead of arrival and it was ready when we got there. The food was freshly cooked, hot and delicious. Out of a family of 4 with 2 very extremely fussy eaters we had not one complaint. Overall very satisfied. Would definitely use if in the area again.

Had dinner from here last night slight mix up with rice as my daughter can't have soy as she is GF but this was quickly rectified once she told the server. Duck was slightly fatty with not much meat, however the meat that she got was cooked lovely. We also had sliced bread of chicken in plum sauce which was delicious and chicken in chilli which was also super tasty. Would definitely recommend

Decided to get a massive feed for after climbing the close by clachnaben. Phoned in advance on a Saturday night and the order was ready on time. Between the two of us, we had: Singapore chow mien, salt and pepper chicken, chips+rice+Sweet and sour, peking style ribs and spring rolls. All the food was really tasty and unlike many Chinese takeaways that we’ve had there was minimal grease. Was almost surprised at the standard of food that we got considering it was a takeaway and we had to drive 20 minutes to our accommodation before eating. Overall really positive experience and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a takeaway.

Great food but like other takeaways in Banchory you can’t pay by card or have it delivered without paying a fortune for a taxi to deliver. Really poor for 2021. We know the real reason for not accepting cards.

Food poisoning. Avoid. There is no way this is a genuine Chinese take away. I ordered special fried rice and it was just rice, a few veg and a few bits of chewy inedible beef. Absolutely disgusting. No sauce and just a dry bland take away but I was starving after a hard days work so added tomatoe sauce and ate it. Well about two hours later both my wife and I were very ill. This place is dangerous and should not be operating. No idea why food standards have not closed but I will be contacting them. Waste of money. Would never survive in the city with bland food like that. I can only think because they are in a holiday town with a passing through population that they are happy for one off business as opposed to repeat business. Also more although been in Banchory years they only have 30 odd reviews. Clearly starting a clean slate on TA when they get loads of negative reviews. You have been warned !!

Always order my Chinese food from Famous House and they never disappointed us. Great food

What is the point in giving a collection time for phone orders? An hour and a half collection time followed by an hour wait standing in a cold wet alley at your door. Two and a half hours to cook a meal that was as sub standard as it gets. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible Chinese takeaway, terrible time keeping, rest assured there are way better Chinese restaurants a short drive away.

Wide choice on the menu, crispy aromatic duck is my favorite. Very traditional UK style Chinese food. They only take cash, so be prepared, although there are a few ATM's on the high street, no great worry

We are regular customers of Famous House. It provided a constant high quality food at very competitive prices- Highly Recommended. All the food we ordered was tasty and good quantity- you can order one dish and will be enough for two people or two meals per person. Highly recommended

We had a takeaway of various dishes at the weekend. All the food that we had was tasty and plenty of it. This was our first visit to this Chinese restaurant and it was exceptionally busy with phone orders and also customers at the restaurant ordering there carry outs. By the look of things this appears to be the best Chinese restaurant in Banchory.

i eat here at least a few times a week, staff are easy to talk with if you need to change things in your order and the food is to a high standard. I can usually only have a few things from other Chinese due to taste, but dish after dish I try from famous house continues to please and leave me wanting to try something else. and an even bigger plus is the delivery which no take aways seem to do out here

Ok food but lots of hassle trying to get it right. Because of this, some of the food went cold by the time we got it home and wasn't remotely edible. Lost some food as well due to poor packaging and tiny bag - tipped over in the car. Portions not exactly huge for the cost. I doubt very much whether I will return.

La comida era viejo y dejó un sabor desagradable en la boca cuando me sabía el mío. El arroz frito tenía un olor raro y sabía tan mal. Cuando llamé para quejarme, el chico era bastante grosero y aparentemente era el jefe. Me dijo que regresaría al día siguiente la comida, pero como yo estaba a punto de salir para "nightshift. Me dijo que si no era esa noche, entonces no volver y él restitución sólo estaba ofreciendo media para una comida que no apta para comer. Él llamó despues a la izquierda y hablaba con mi madre. Él era grosero con ella y le dijeron que, si no te gusta, no te molestes en jamás volver. No sería de todos modos. Horrible! ! No creo que incluso la mitad de las otras críticas son reales.

Tuvimos una comida fantástica, muy sabrosa y excelente precio. Hay una ventana grande entre el cliente y el área de cocina, así que puedes ver preparan su comida, y ver lo limpio que es. ! ! !

Fue recomendado por un miembro de la familia de la mina. Escondida pero siga su nariz! Un olor delicioso cuando te acercas, y la comida era tan buena como el aroma. Esta es la primera vez que nuestra familia ha utilizado la famosa casa en Banchory siguiendo una recomendación de amigos. Tengo que decir que no me decepcionó. La comida era muy buena y el servicio amable. Estaría encantado de recomendar a cualquier persona donde ir para un chino en Banchory.

Nunca he visto nada como esto antes. . . Al entrar en el para llevar yo estaba indignado de ver piezas de pollo crudo disperso por todo el sucio suelo de baldosas. El chef femenino era rezó en el suelo sucio contando el pollo crudo. No hace falta decir que la izquierda inmediatamente y no comimos allí. Soy muy escéptico acerca de la autenticidad de las otras críticas tienen aquí.

The food is excellent and the service is always quick, a really good menu with better than average portions. Definitely recommend if you want fast food done well.

La famosa casa es mayormente nuevo comparado con otros hoteles de la zona y está justo al lado de la calle alta el carril al lado de la parada de autobús. . Vale la pena ir a como la calidad y el sabor es muy bueno. . Teníamos un gran pedido con tiempo perdido y todo el mundo estaba llena. . . . Siéntase como probar. . Vale la pena.

Take away only experience on this one . Service was good , Food was plentiful and varied from the set meal for two. Could not fault it at all and I did notice that it was well supported by the local community.

Went here tonight 23rd April as I found the Memory of China closed. The food was excellent and I will be making that my takeaway chinese in Banchory from now on.

Much cheaper and better food than Memory of China, and you get a friendly person at the counter. Recommended

We went here after my girlfriends hairdresser recommended it. Took me a little while to find the place as it is half way up a small lane beside the pub but got there eventually! The kitchen has a window which allows people to watch their food being prepared which is really nice to see. The food was prepared pretty quickly but after eating there was no complaints, would recommend to anyone but I was also told that the Thai food here wasn't that great, but I can't comment as I haven't tried it yet. The staff are very friendly and polite too.

We decided to have the thai offering which actually was not very good and not what you might expect thai curry to be from a dedicated Thai restaurant. The quality of the chicken was Ok and that is all that could be said. Stick to chinese dishes in my opinion. The mixed starter platter was very good though

It is a take away, with a comfortable seating area. There is an extensive menu ,and there are Chinese, Tai and other choices.We have often ordered from them and have yet to get a disappointing meal. The servings are generous. You can see into the kitchen, and it has always been spotless!! We have different tastes, and have tried curries and many other dishes. If you choose a hot curry, that is what you get. And very hot is eye watering!! The mild and medium ones are really that and for us a safer bet.They will deliver at an extra £5 or so, but we are very near them. They send it by cab, best to check! Try the Thai green curry and sweet and sour prawns, Cantonese style. The house special rice is a meal in its own right and has prawns,chicken and meat in it. We often have enough for two meals out of a single portion. If you drive down the little alley past the shop, there is ample parking. But that is out of sight from the high street. It is yards away from the shop, great when the weather is bad! If you place your order by phone, you nip in and out with no waiting.

Decided to try this Chinese carry out after being recommended by friends! "Hidden away" up a small ally way from the High St. Very glad we did! Great menu with a vast selection good value for money! The best tasting carry out from a Chinese by far!! Everything crisp and fresh - good balance - would definitely recommend to others - will go again! Big portions - so be hungry:) NB! Rice & noodles to be ordered separate. All food is prepared behind a large window from the waiting area so possible to watch the food being prepared:)

A good value takeaway (although note cash only, credit cards not accepted) serving the usual menu items. Orders are freshly prepared in the open plan kitchen so you can watch your dishes being assembled. Counter staff are friendly but have an annoying habit of cutting you off mid sentence when the phone rings with another order rather than ask the caller to hold on for the few seconds it would take to complete most transactions.Some of the meat/fish dishes have too much veg and sauce and too little of the headline ingredient but overall quality is good and you can eat a full meal without the bloated feeling that accompanies some Chinese dishes.There is a tiny car park at the rear if you are unable to stop on the High Street and a loyalty scheme which offers a discount voucher to regular customers.

The Famous House Chinese Takeaway is tucked away up a lane off Banchory's High Street (to the side of the Burnett Arms Hotel). A favourite treat at weekends. The food is always freshly prepared with a window from waiting area through to the kitchen. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly. Wide range of dishes to pick from. You can order by phone, but even when you order in the takeaway you never have to wait more than 10 - 15 minutes. If you're stuck for something for supper then this is for you.
