As others have noted, the food here is fresh and lacks the usual greasiness of Chinese-style restaurants. The fish and vegetarian options were a real highlight for us, and we were treated to a complimentary dish of deep friend daikon - a nice touch and actually a stand out dish. The negative aspects were, unfortunately, the staff and overall ambience of the restaurant. First of all, I had specifically booked “The Snug” area when making my reservation online and when confirming it. Despite asking multiple times, this was not honoured when we arrived and no explanation was given - however the space was left empty throughout our meal which compounded our disappointment. Why offer the space as a booking option if it is not available in reality? Very confusing. Secondly, the restaurant was extremely cold. The only heat source seemed to be the air conditioning unit mounted on the wall. If you were not sat directly under this, you were cold. The outside terrace area actually felt warmer! This needs to be addressed for the winter months. On balance, I would give this place another go - ideally in the summer sat outside.

Gracias.

I had visited the other branch (Marble Arch), last year so was happy to visit this one, albeit nervous as it was a Birthday dinner for 7. We got a variety of starters and mains and everyone commented on how fresh and tasty everything was! Service was mainly good-one gent looked like he didn’t want to be there but ok otherwise. I think prices are fair for size. It’s also pan Asian, not Thai

I’m from California, and I am very very grateful to find healthy fresh Thai/Chinese/Asian cuisine here in London. You can tell that each dish, sauce, and every vegetable, is cut fresh and made from scratch. It lacks the typical overdose of sodium/fake flavors/colors, so you may need to adjust your pallet; yet if you care about genuine quality — this is the place. I love Uli, and feel grateful that I can feel even more wonderful by feasting here!

The restaurant atmosphere from the outside and inside is magical. However the food is not value for money, and certain dishes are very small - (Sea Bass). Soups are good, mains arrived however could have been hotter, Sweet & sour chicken- didnt really have any sauce, however after asking the waiter he brought a small jug. Prices are expensive. It doesnt mention on the menu that Jungle Curry is Vegetarian!! Wine good choice - but again a reasonable Pinot is £32.00 a bottle. Would not revisit - or recommend- you can find better Thai/Chinese/Asian food elsewhere!!! What people want nowadays is Value for Money-

This restaurant has a lovely ambience and wait staff were very kind and respectful but the food was not good and the price was high. My sweet and sour chicken was tougher and chewier than what I purchase at our local grocery store. I ate about 1/2 the meal (rice was extra) and had to stop. Went away hungry.

We decided to pop into this restaurant after a fairly long walk and crispy duck was calling to me. We had a very enjoyable meal, drank some Saki too. The staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive which I hate with a different staff member coming over every time they pass asking how the meal is.

Someone recommended a visit to Uli. A big mistake. The prices on the menu looked comparatively steep but we did like the choices and the ambience. Unfortunately, the service did not match the offering. It went wrong at the start. We ordered quarter duck as a starter for two people. The duck was cold, and we had to wait for it to be replaced. We had also ordered jungle curry and checked with the staff that it included chicken, and we were assured it did. However, we got tofu jungle curry which we didn’t want and wasn’t mentioned on the menu. They replaced it with green chicken curry, but this took a long time. As a result, the fried rice got cold and needed reheating. And at times staff were at times unhelpful and rude to us. When we said we wouldn’t come back the response was: well don’t then. No problem Uli; we won’t ever come back. We did a get a gesture of goodwill on the bill, but we didn’t think it went far enough. When we raised this with the manager he said it was enough and walked away. It was a terrible experience from start to finish.

We are locals who eat here on occasion. Tonight was terribly disappointing. The spring rolls and calamari were awful- the oil clearly hadn’t been changed and the food had a slightly acrid flavour. The prawn dish was quite tasty but there were not many prawns and there was a surplus of onions. Service not particularly attentive and rather slow. Poor overall

Well I had lunch in ULI today (7th September) and while not being an especially active Trip Advisor member, I felt compelled to write a review because frankly, it was so well deserved - what an absolutely fantastic experience! The waiting staff (a young man and a young woman) could honestly not have been more professional; in fact, together they managed to create that all too rare a customer experience: a friendly, relaxed, dining atmosphere, while simultaneously delivering exceptional customer care, and super efficient service. I was greeted by the waiter who immediately showed me to my seat (a corner seat in the pretty outside terrace which is surrounded by lovingly tended foliage) and promptly delivered a very welcomed carafe of chilled water. He was very patient and informative when I asked a couple of questions about the menu. I ordered the Thai green curry which was without doubt the best I’ve ever had. Generous portions of deliciously tender chicken breast, vegetables and sauce, all seasoned to perfection. Huge compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. An additional feature about ULI which I really appreciated was the interior decor, which is very simple, and effectively generates a sense of peace and stillness: warm ambient lighting, and wonderful use of beautiful trailing plants above the bar area. Not being a local, I am unfortunately not going to be able to frequent ULI; however, I am returning to London in November and without doubt, will be making a return visit then! This place really is something else and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thankyou ULI for delivering a first rate dining experience.

My family and I were served the appetisers and main course without the rice and noodles. When asked, the server offered to redo the meal, which I enquired whether the meal would be freshly made or simply reheated. The server asked me to speak with the manager, who came 10 mins later. Rather than offer an apology, he informed me that he was not going to charge me for the meal and cleared the food on the table. What cheek! I’ve never felt so belittled and insulted. The Chinese manager is also the owner, which I found out in his email reply, but continue to be amazed as to how dismissive he is of customers. Racial? Maybe and perhaps so. When I posted a Google review, he replied by denying everything, but offered no apology. Absolutely do not recommend this place. Visit if you want to be insulted and belittled.

We spontaneously asked for space for three. The lady first looked us up and down, which I didn't think was correct... The rest was very good ☺️

Decent place for a good chinese meal in central London. Flavours were definitely toned down for more Western tastes. Little to no service provided but totally fine with that.

I phoned to make my order, very aggressive and rude man answered and took the order. They don't even clean the prawns that black stuff is still on it, the shop and kitchen looks dirty, it's definitely overpriced, I had a horrible experience and below par food. Save your money as plenty other options to eat in Earl's Court.

I discovered Sichuan popo restaurant a year ago, it was Love at first sight. Aside the great atmosphere and fantastic tasty food, I felt valued customer, and have been back there ever since . In the heart of Kensington and Chelsea not far from Holland Park.
