An affordable Chinese fast-food restaurant offering a variety of menu options with decent taste. The service is quick, and food is served promptly. However, the restaurant space is a bit small and cramped.

In a public place where hundres of diferent people eats every day this should go into the dishwasher to remove any bacteria!!! How disgusting???? That place I am sorry but should have an inspection!

I've been here twice now, for visits about 6 years apart, but both prior to attending shows at the RAH. The service is unfussy, but friendly. The food is plentiful, and wholesome. And inexpensive. This may not be a place to have a 'special' meal out, but especially in this area of London it truly is a little gem. The frontage of the premises inform you that the Stick and Bowl has been operating here since 1971, and long may it continue to do so.

Anyone who gives this place less than five stars needs their head examined. It’s one of the most delightful charming eateries in London. You sit canteen style with other diners. The food is consistently good and authentic. No bells and whistles. I have only ever found the service to be friendly and can only imagine that negative comments here in this regard come from an entitled few who are used to stamping their feet. If you’re that type of person then avoid Stick and Bowl. We have been coming here for 30 years and have often driven an hour or more just to visit. I find you always get what you give when it comes to service. Hot and Sour soup is a must as is the mixed seafood noodles. Charm charm charm.

For those who complained about the food and/or service, you do not know Asian food stores. The fact that this place looks like a restaurant, doesn't mean it has to be. It's more like a fast-food joint or canteen. Find a seat, order your food, eat, pay and go. It's that simple. I ordered the beef veg rice. No complaints. Ingredients were fresh, taste was fine, not overly greasy nor salty. Portions were acceptable. Avoid lunch hour coz it gets really busy.

The food was good. Very reasonably priced given the area, and good portion size. Big menu of Oriental classics from rice to noodles, soup, duck and more. I had the Mini Vegetables Spring Rolls (4 in a portion) with the Hot and Sour Soup. This was all really good. Well presented and freshly made. The Sesame Prawns on Toast is also nice. I usually go for the starters but will try one of the main meals next time. Food will come out as and when it is ready. Order at the counter if taking out, or sit down and order for table service if dining in. Very tiny and cramped restaurant, like a canteen with limited low table seating. Not a place to sit long. Always very busy. Communal tables. Eat and go. I normally get a seat straight away as a solo diner but if you are a big party and you go at a peak dining time, then you are likely to have to wait for a table. Would recommend if you are looking for cheap and cheerful Oriental food that comes out quickly!

This charming eatery, situated on Kensington High Street, may be easily overlooked, but doing so would be a grave error for those seeking exceptional and affordable cuisine. Stick & Bowl is a 2nd generation family run restaurant and I was greeted warmly at the front door by the staff. I mentioned that I was last hear 30 years ago and the owner told me that it was his father who started the business in 1971 before taking the reings in 1998. The service was prompt. I opted for the Wun Tun Soup, which consisted of four pork and shrimp dumplings for £2.90. The soup was freshly prepared and quite flavorful. We then had some chicken satay and pork dumplings, both of which were also very enjoyable and reasonably priced. In regards to the main course, I selected the beef chow mein. The portion size was generous and the flavors were well-balanced. I was able to enjoy the leftovers at home. Overall, Stick & Bowl is an excellent choice for those seeking quality cuisine at a reasonable price, complemented by exceptional customer service.

The food was actually really good, the only issue is my boyfriend is black and he felt like he was being racially targeted during our visit. Many people came in after us, and received their food before ours. All the reviews talk about how quick the service was, we waited around 10-15 minutes for our food, and my main came first, and I wanted to wait for my boyfriend to get his food, so we could eat it at the same time, as typically restaurants serve food at the same time, but his food came significantly later. The chef kept on coming out and staring at him, when he got up to get some sauce and jalapeños all of the workers froze. It was disgusting behaviour. My food became cold, my boyfriend was waiting ages for his food and felt alienated by the staff. Nobody should be made to feel this way, especially not somebody who is paying for your service. Will not be visiting again. We also saw one of the staff coughing all over the glasses by the water jug where you can self serve, god knows what they could’ve done to my boyfriends food.

Journeying Through Timeless Chinese Cuisine at Stick and Bowl There’s something truly special about Stick and Bowl, a Chinese restaurant that, much like its name suggests, keeps it simple, yet sublime. The design is minimalistic; long, communal tables and stools offer a nod to traditional Chinese eateries. But don’t let the unassuming interior fool you - the culinary journey that awaits within is anything but ordinary. The 80s were my introduction to the culinary magic of Stick and Bowl, and I am delighted to say that the food has remained as vibrant and captivating as ever. This is the quintessential Chinese cuisine at its finest, unembellished and unapologetically authentic. Each dish is a vibrant symphony of flavours. Imagine the rich, luscious notes of a carefully stewed broth, the succulent sweetness of perfectly roasted meats, the earthy embrace of the freshest vegetables, and the symphony of spices and sauces that dance on your tongue. It’s like an enchanting melody that resounds with the echoes of traditional Chinese cuisine, resonating with every sense and transporting you to a bustling food market in the heart of China. The dishes here are not just recipes; they’re history lessons, lovingly preserved and prepared by a dedicated family team. You’re not just a customer at Stick and Bowl; you’re part of their story, a guest at their table, a companion in their culinary journey. The familial warmth and hospitality are as rich and comforting as the dishes served. The staff’s passion for their craft shines through their service, making every visit feel like a homecoming. Stick and Bowl is more than a restaurant. It’s a testament to the enduring charm of authentic Chinese cuisine, an enduring symbol of simplicity and flavour. This is an establishment that was a beacon of culinary excellence in the 80s and remains equally impressive today. For anyone seeking a taste of traditional Chinese cuisine that engages, excites and enchants, Stick and Bowl is an unmissable culinary gem.

I phoned to make my order, very aggressive and rude man answered and took the order. They don't even clean the prawns that black stuff is still on it, the shop and kitchen looks dirty, it's definitely overpriced, I had a horrible experience and below par food. Save your money as plenty other options to eat in Earl's Court.

Worst service in South Ken with several staffs, and problematic hygiene. If you do not wish to be pressed by staff here to decide on what you wanna order multiple times when you have just sit down for a couple of minutes, or stared by waiters when they serve for literally no reason, or having a stomachache after dinner, don't come. You'll thank me for this. It was 19:40 and there's very few customers coming by, so I politely asked the staff whether I and my friend could use the large table instead where it would be easier to make conversations. I would have totally understand if they refused. But in addition to refusion the staff loudly throw sarcasm at us: “that's so weird! Are you coming here for food or dating?”. The other waiter then constantly stare at us as she serves the dishes. My friend had a stomachache later that day, I wonder why. The sand wall restaurant is so cute. On closing day, the old wall lamp remembered to call me to set off fireworks for you. At first, I thought it was a racist who looked down on mainlanders. After looking at the Google reviews, I found out that Lao Deng was a virtuous AOE. Is the restaurant named Jia because there is no home or no 🐎?
