it’s a great option for spicy chinese in london. definitely repeat! the mini hot pot delivered, soup base was great, honest value. the spiced beef w/tendon cold dish was great, could use more spice infusion. authentic dinner and happy. decent liquor and beer selection for a small chinese restaurant. helpful informed servers with the appropriate hurried chinese restaurant attitude (brisk and brusque in that positive way 😉). had a great time listening in on a tiger mom at the table next door. totally in the vibe of the place. totally satisfied experience.

A quick walk from the Residence Inn in Kensington, we came across this hole in the wall for Sichuan cuisine. It’s traditional Chinese food, which ended up being really good and reminded us of our favorite eats back home in the States. We had the mapo tofu with ground pork and fresh noodles with bok choy. They were both large portions, and we asked for extra spice to feel the heat in the cold London night. While I wish we had a stronger spice kick, the food was delicious either way. Restaurant was clean and sleek, and tables were spaced out from each other. Our wait staff were good at checking in with us, and the food came out hot and well-cooked. My only gripe is that I wish I had tried more vegetable dishes because I was unsure of the price and portion sizes.

Cute little find. Sichuan Popo delivered on all fronts. The biang-biang hand pulled noodles had an amazing bite, and the braised beef was melting in your mouth soft. But it was the delicate okra that stole the show of our meal - perfectly cooked, a hint of crunch, with a light touch of soy. Wantons with chilli oil were also a delight and flavourful. Prompt service and excellent value rounds off this place nicely. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

The upmarket Kensington bustle strains my ears as Chelsea fans descend up on Stamford Bridge. I’m pleasantly surprised to catch the glorious aroma of Sichuan PoPo, a mix of salty sweet spice, which guides me to the door as if caught by a skilled Chinese fisherman who has saved me from a raging storm in Dong Hai. Good catch sir. I’m immediately greeted by a dapper steward who, although cordial, is focused and efficient. I’m only seated for a brief phase before I catch his eye. I nod, he nods back, as if congratulating me for achieving a great feat. I order the DanDan, which turns out to be a great feat indeed. The chefs immediately begin to dance through the kitchen darting through the plumes of steaming broth. My noodles arrive within minutes. So overwhelmed with amazement I bury my nose and mouth into the dish sending sauce and noodles across the room and onto other patrons tables, everybody eats. I splash my iced green tea all over my face and chest before leaving in disgrace. The food unmatched, the service exemplary and the ambiance incroyable. EM

I have to say, this is a great spot for Sichuan food. I was born in Chengdu, so I can confidently say that the food here meets expectations for Sichuan cuisine to a certain extent. What impressed me the most is the service. It made me feel cozy and welcomed, just like the people from my hometown. I come here almost every week whenever I’m craving some spicy Sichuan dishes. When my local Pizza Express shot down and was replaced by a Chinese restaurant, I was devastated. However, when I sampled their cuisine, I was genuinely impressed. Their Sichuan 'street food' cuisine, surpasses the tired 'British Chinese' by a long shot. Noodles are freshly made daily, you might have to experiment a bit as the menu is unlike any Chinese I've been to in London. Staff are kowlegable, so don't be afraid to ask. If you are in the area for 5 Guys up in Kensington High Street, and in a a take away hurry, I strongly recommend their Sichuan burger. I tried the Pork and the Spicy beef, Next Level taste bud explosion. 👌 Fills up quickly for Dinner so book in advance. They do have a happy hour between 1 and 5 pm, for the budget conscious.

This is our second time coming here and it is quickly becoming a favourite. Last time we ordered mapo tofu, chicken in chilli oil and the pak choi, delicious. This time we went for boiled fish slices in Chilli oil with tofu and dried peas and the pak choi again. So delicious, such tender fish, so flavourful, nice heat from the chilli, delicious. Quite salty, but we like that! The vegetables are also very nicely cooked, nice crunch. We ordered one rice between us which is just right. The service is so nice as well, they’re happy to answer questions, very friendly and efficient. The fish dish was around £20 which we thought was expensive, however it serves two people, you get so much fish in there and the whole meal for the two of us worked out as approx. £35, very reasonable

Delicious Chinese restaurant. Pretty clean, authentic and flavourful dishes. The most simple were also the most delicious. One example is the cucumber salad with spicy sauce. The prawn dumplings were also fresh and delicious. The chicken with peanuts was fantastic, sweet and spicy. The bun with egg custard are a perfect option to finish the meal with something sweet. All the other dishes we saw passing by were not just generously portioned but the presentation also looked great! We asked for a side of Sichuan chilli oil which instantly gave the dish a lift, but still needed a bigger kick of Sichuan peppercorn and garlic. We also ordered noodles with pork intestine, which is rare in London. And the poached chicken in chilli oil, which was tender and juicy. Both dishes were also enhanced by adding more chilli oil on top. Overall a good choice for that part of the city if you are looking for Sichuan noodles in bright modern surroundings

Stopped by for a late afternoon snack. It’s okay. Noods need way more flavor. Chef needs to double the chili oil, soy sauce, and black vinegar. Dim sum was pretty good. Not a bad lunch spot, but there’s more flavor to be found elsewhere. The lady next to me got the dry stir-fried beef ho fun. That looked pretty legit. Makes me think this place is run by Southern Chinese masquerading as Sichuanese. Would explain the mild flavors and dim sum offerings! Service was fast and friendly.
