Udon Thai Street Food in Fife

This was the best Thai we have eaten in the UK and we can see why they were voted No 1 in the Scottish Asian Food awards restaurant in 2023. The fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation made you feel like you were in Thailand. We shared the salmon, green papaya salad, young broccolini stir fry and fresh prawn spring rolls, they were all delicious and generous served. Great value for money and such a wonderful surprise.

Excellent service and excellent quality of food

We were looking for someplace to eat on Saturday night and have replaced seem to be busy but we phoned udon and they had a place that it was excellent and the staff were lovely and the drinks were super unusual lovely place to try for something different

Fantastic flavoursome food served in generous portions . Had two course and struggled to finish. Beautiful small restaurant Will definitely be back

Went with my wife last night. Food was fab, staff friendly and helpful and setting was great. Can't recommend it enough. No alcohol served at all if you like a beer with your food. We will be going again, again and again.

Me and my partner have need a number of times now and cannot complain best Thai food around by far have even taken friends here and they enjoy it. I always recommend for anyone wanting authentic Thai food.

Excellent! Truly excellent. Can't recommend this place enough. I've never had a bad meal. The food is freshly prepared, generous portions, lovely aromatic spices. Its by far the best take away in Fife, in my opinion

Mixed food quality. Some dishes okay some not so much and the standard is way below other Thai restaurants in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Found some dishes very watery/lacking authentic flavour. Also portions size can be very small with the quantity of meat. Prices for the location are simply far too high and we didn’t feel it offered good value at all. I think they get away with it simply due to no other local option but it’s just not worth it.

I’ve heard that this restaurant was good so many times I just had to go. The wife and I were not disappointed. Atmosphere was brilliant. Staff were friendly, attentive, well mannered and noticeably clean. Every time front of house staff went in the kitchen they washed their hands. So nice to see. Food took some time but only because they were fully booked & it was a Saturday, plus they are a busy takeaway. No wonder why there then. The food looked great, presented well, and delicious too. Lady owner & lady head chef says a lots for this genre of establishment, from my own experience, having eaten all over the uk & Europe in a multitude of different cultures. 5 stars from the wife & I, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much to all the staff for a wonderful evening, just perfect…!

Absolutely delicious authentic Thai food! I have travelled around Thailand and can say it took me back to some of the delicious cuisines I have tasted on my travels. I will definitely return soon and highly recommend to others!

Brilliant, loved it will use again

Food was amazing, staff in shop was great, but what an absolute racket coming from there delivery drivers cars, what a shame they let them away with this 😞 puts you off going back.

Edit: Had takeaway from here the other night and found the food, particularly the papaya salad, wasn't as good or spicey as it used to be.. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but sure hope they've not had a change in recipes (in response to the living crisis perhaps?) or chef, as it'd be pretty disappointing if so... Hope they see this... ------- What a pleasant experience we all had last night! Lovely food, lovely presentation, and friendly staff who went above and beyond for us. Absolute hidden gem this place is, and we all look forward to coming back. :) PS: some of the food is so damn spicey. Please do not change anything hehe! Was fun seeing my scottish friends dying from all that chilli :D hehehe

Was there Friday tea time as a party of 5 . Great food and service, excellent young lady serving the tables will definitely be back .

Had a meal tonight and it’s one of the best Thai meals we’ve had recently. The staff are lovely and we were made to feel welcome as long as we were there - no rush or pressure to finish up. Paid the corkage on my own wine - pretty glass supplied. Both meals Chu Chi and Massaman dishes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back when in the area.

Just had some of the most amazing food I have eaten. This is a real gem of a place to eat the food is full of flavour and good sized portions. I will definitely return next time we are up here. Can highly recommend it. Just remember to take your own alcohol ( corkage applies) it might be worth booking a table as it's popular but you can always have a takeaway

Went on Saturday night with son and daughter in law. Can only be described as excellent, spotless premises, fresh food and brilliant staff. Live in England, been to many Thai restaurants but this is by far the best I have been to. Congratulations you have a gem Leven.

This place was recommended to us soon after it open, we now frequently get a take out order and every time its really good. Excellent flavour and the right portion sizes. I haven't been to Thailand so cannot comment on authenticity but I believe the owner is Thai and that says it all for me ... delicious and well worth a visit!

Delicious authentic Thai food. Presentation was delightful and taste perfect. It brought back so many memories of eating in Thailand. They have a pleasant eat-in area with clear view of the kitchen. We could see hygiene was excellent. If only they were situated close to our home rather than 60 miles away - we'd be regulars. Visited again 15 months later. Equally good.

Wow, we went here for my birthday and was amazed by how lovely the food was, staff are amazing too, customer service was great, really lovely food, enjoyed everything we ordered I read another review calling it a hidden gem, it really is a hidden gem! Hadn’t heard of this restaurant before, but really happy we found it !

Food arrived 70 minutes from when i ordered it. They got our order wrong so they sent us a new order which came in around 40 mins later but they never gave us the right rice this time. Food was absolutely disgusting my pad thai was mostly watery dish with terrible flavorings in it . More like a pad soup!! than pad thai.

This place is the definition of hidden gem - on a housing estate in Leven! We gave the menu a good test and every dish was fresh tasting, packed with flavour, quality ingredients and loads of veg. The papaya salad was usefully hot, delicious and soft Thai fish cakes and the satay sauce should be bottled. On to mains, all ace, huge king prawns, massaman curry could have been spicier but still great. All nicely presented, largely female crew in the open kitchen. It’s small and perfectly formed. Can’t wait to return to try the sea bass and pad Thai. Great to see a small business doing interesting things, go and support them.

Visited udon for a meal with friends last night. There are only 3 tables in this wee place with an open kitchen so book ahead. They clearly have a good takeaway business. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. So fresh and clearly made with care to order. We will be regulars here!

Delicious food and decent portion sizes. Found the steamed noodles to be overcooked and completely stuck together into something resembling a noodle cake but I mixed them with the soup which sorted them out nicely. Would definitely recommend and if we lived closer we'd be back again.

My dad's first encounter with Thai food which he loved. As a starter we enjoyed the vegetable tempura. My dad had a mild curry with rice while I had a vegetarian Pad Thai which were both delicous. The staff were most friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was modern, clean and simply decorated with some Thai accents in the interior. Please be aware that if you enjoy an alcoholic drink you can bring that yourself and pay a small cork money fee in return as the restaurant doesn't currently have an alcohol license.

Service took a very long time, pork mince dish was okay but a little small, pad Thai left both of us feeling ill for two days afterwards and prawns unfortunately seemed old and a little past it.. Wouldn't return out of fear of illness :-(

Amazing food, if you enjoy Thai food and in the Fife area, this restaurant/takeaway is highly recommended, ordered quite a few meals to supplement a buffet we were having for my Mums Birthday. Ordered 2 off each; Chicken, Veg and King Prawn red, green & Massaman Curry dishes and Chicken fried rice, with Jasmine rice, Som Tam Salad and Tom Yum Prawn. Every dish was prepared and cooked, exactly as requested. The dishes were very flavoursome and spicy/mild as requested. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and made us welcome, even agreeing to cook our food and pick up before they opened. Please people, if you enjoy Thai Food and are in the area, give them a try, I feel sure you will enjoy it.

What a great little place. After wondering why we had no Thai places to eat I googled.. and found we did! Fantastic stuff. Only 3 tables... really should add more small tables for 2. Anyway the place was really nice and great food. One of the best iv been too.

Can honestly say this is the BEST take away I have ever had! Highly recommended to anyone, Remember and order noodles and rice as these are separate.

Excellent food and excellent service highly recommended

Order came without rice. Went back to restaurant. Left in the rain for five minutes only to be charged for it? Very nice. A little disrespectful considering the error was on the restaurant? Previously ordered two portions of Som Tam (without wings) which normally is £5 each. This time up to £5.95. No problem with the small increase. But when after returning home and easily fitting both portions inside one tub is disappointing - basically £11.98 for less than one salad. Really? And the Pad Thai is far from authentic. Pad Thai is a dry dish that should not be swimming in sweet and sour juice. I lived all over Thailand long enough to say your claim of 'authenticity' is a farce. Perhaps taking more care of your customers in future would be a good idea.

Genuine Thai food, had home delivery twice, different meals, all of which were really nice.. small delivery charge but worth it as the portions are so big they lasted us 2 days. Very friendly and helpful staff, including delivery guy. Will continue to order from there, thank you.
