One of the best Indian restaurants around! The owner and staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming. The menu offers a great variety without being overwhelming, and the food was absolutely perfect. The chicken curry and lamb curry were both outstanding—definitely worth trying. I’ll be returning for a few more visits to explore the rest of the menu!

This was our first visit - we were in the area, fancied a curry and as this restaurant is shortly to open a subsidiary restaurant in Blairgowrie where we live, we thought we'd give it a go - by way of a research visit! We certainly weren't disappointed. It was busy - a Saturday night - pretty much full - always a good sign. As soon as one table emptied, it was soon filled again. The restaurant was attractive - good decor, some fish in a tank set into the floor that you cross on a bridge to reach the back half of the restaurant, and tablecloths. Both restaurant and toilets were both clean. The service was spot on. Lots of staff. No mistakes. No long waits. Friendly, smiling, chatting to us. Regular customers were clearly evident by much hand-shaking and mutual pats on the back. Obviously lots of return business. The food - a big menu with lots of choices and some unusual inclusions. The portion sizes were ample without being overwhelming. My onion bhajis were tasty. Thinner than many you get, but that wasn't a bad thing as you got four. Very fresh and attractive salad accompaniment. Beyond the usual random bit of tomato onion and lettuce. I had a chicken Karahi - nice flavour. I would say good - but not outstanding. No bits of tomato in although the menu said it was with tomato - though no doubt it was in the sauce. The pieces of chicken tikka in it were smaller than many you get - but there was plenty of it. This was a good thing - it was all more manageable to eat. My standout was the tarka dahl - not too sloppy and really delicious. I'd definitely have that again! My hubby had the" Masaledar" - he absolutely loved it - a sweet and sour dish. On a par with the best he'd had. It was nice to see thalis on the menu(selection of dishes in smaller portions). Also - great dessert menu - and they actually all had the (rather off piste) things we wanted - pistachio kulfi and gulab jamun, plus liqueur coffees. Not the cheapest of places, but it felt a bit more upmarket than your average Indian restaurant, and St Andrews is a well-to-do touristy place, so I think they have the market for it there. The curries were mostly between £14 and £20 each, dependent on main ingredient. A nice touch was that you had options of having two main ingredients in a dish, e.g. prawn and chicken. Also the after dinner chocs! Looking forward to the Blairgowrie version soon! A great evening out - loved it.

We visited twice recently, just before & just after New Year. We ordered takeaways. The welcome & ordering process on site was brilliant. Our fave foods were King prawn Bhuna, mixed Pathia & mixed Dansak. The wait was minimal. The staff member who dealt with us was brilliant. P.S. the restaurant looked super & was quite busy serving a special 2 course lunch.

As well as being a popular Indian dine in restaurant which looks rather swish, Jahangir also does a great takeaway service. Phone in or turn up, the service is as good as the food. The staff member taking the orders was very pleasant & helpful.

Possibly the worst curry I have had in years. Stale poppadoms for a start and poor chutneys. All our curry’s looked the same sauce and this was what could be described as wall paper paste type soup! Having read some of the reviews and the claims made by the restaurant regarding the string of famous people who had dined there, my wife and I were confident that we had found a quality Indian establishment. We were, unfortunately, very disappointed. My wife ordered a chicken korma. What was provided can only be described as lumps of chicken in a chicken soup which had been over-spiced. Korma is supposed to be a mild curry. I ordered a Khyber Bhakti and the watery mix of vegetables bore no resemblance to the description on the menu. The sauce had no texture to it and seemed very artificial. The accompanying fried rice and Peshwari naan were greasy and, in the case of the naan, far too sweet. The meal was not only poor quality but very poor value indeed. It was probably one of the worst curries we have ever tasted and despite all the extravagant claims on the website, it was not the least bit authentic.

I don't know what's the reason led me to get in there, the worst experience I ever had. I ordered chicken biryani and they charged 17£, the taste is terrible, and I found a hair in the food, disgusting as hell. How can someone run their business in such a disappointing way? First of all, the customer service is literally frustrating; they don't even know how to behave. The least star rating is 1, so that's why I'm giving them a 1 star rating. Don't ever go there; it's a trap. We can't leave the restaurant without taking at least a main course. Never recommending this one.

Avoid this Restuarant at any cost …. We chose this Restuarant after doing a research and seeing fare reviews in google, Unfortunately it’s never met our expectations and ruined our whole trip. Some of our team members are Hospitality professionals and working as Restaurant Managers and this was not the first time we dine in a restaurant. Service - The whole team never heard something called Customer service (I guess). They never listen to the customers and we got shocked how the top manager replied in a very rude body language ( it was like a cherry on top ) no wonder how the staffs are so rude and impolite . Food - Very confusing menu and nothing near a proper kebab Restaurant. They treat you like we are at their mercy and customers have to cope that . Very small portions of mains and limited free desert options , only tea and coffee . For ice cream you will have to pay extra £1.50 Ambience and cleanliness- They have nicely decorated the interior but watch out how clean your plates and glasses are . Have never been in a Restaurant which is this untidy . Adding a status of a picture of a glass which we have been served our coffee. Avoid avoid avoid avoid …. Don’t ruin your day trips and holidays .

It was one of the worst ever Indian dining experience i had in UK . The food was so bad , it was flavourless, so much artificial colouring . I still have got the colour of the curry in my hands even after washing for 2 times . The customer service was really worst and disappointing . The attitude of the staff and management was so rude . They are of the opinion that we need to be preordering any extra food even before starting to eat . We need to assume we will need more and should preorder the extras with the mains itself . If we ask them any extras even if we are ready to pay , they will shout at us back . Really bad and disappointing service and experience . Would never recommend to anyone . The cuttlery weren’t washed properly , still had the dirt on the coffee cups .

Having had a really enjoyable Indian meal at our local restaurant on Friday, we booked into this restaurant on our visit to St Andrews. Whilst my meal (chicken bhoona) was enjoyable, my sister and nephew were very disappointed with theirs. Firstly, my nephew's chicken korma was served looking like an alabaster coloured plate of porridge with large chunks of tough chicken. My sister ordered a chicken tikka meal. As is customary, this came with a bhoona sauce. We understand that sauces come with varying degrees of hotness. Hers was too hot and she asked for a milder sauce. She was told that the only alternative was to have the mild korma sauce. She was told that there was no other sauce available. The menu has many other options and other sauces available but none were given. As an alternative, the owner/manager suggested a sauce without spices which looked like a bowl of chicken gravy. Needless to say she had had enough by this point. Whilst we understand that not every sauce will be to everyone's liking, you'd expect an award winning restaurant to be able to offer a sauce that was palatable and easy on the eye. Not so and for this reason, I have awarded one star as there is no option to award 0. The service was appalling in relation to asking for an alternative to a bhoona that was too hot and being offered korma or chicken gravy. We eat out in all different types of restaurants and do not mind paying for what we have. The meal cost us £85 and it sickens me that my sister and nephew were more or less told to like it or lump it. There are plenty of great Indian restaurants that offer a wide variety of dishes and sauces and who would be only to happy to fix the key part of an Indian meal to a customers satisfaction. Not so in this case. We will definitely not be back.

Went for lunch Friday 15 March. Waiters courteous. Very disappointing meal. I chose chicken pathia. Have had this many times in umpteen Indian restaurants so I know what it should be like and always enjoy this curry. Not this time! This version was something in a thick raspberry coloured sauce with 4 or 5 small cubes of chicken. Had to be returned to kitchen as it was barely tepid. Meal came back marginally warmer. No flavour. Grim curry. Won't be going back there!!

For sumptuous and flavorful Indian food, you could hardly do better than here, and the prices are so reasonable. The light soup, tinged with a distinct lemon flavour, provided a pleasant starter course, and the lamb curry provided such a burst of rich delight. One can easily discern that this place uses the best and freshest ingredients: the lamb chunks are moist and hefty, and the seasoning has a wild vitality to it. Best of all, perhaps, is the enormous swath of naan provided: I've never seen such a large chunk of it in my life. The atmosphere is soothing and serene, perfectly befitting an Indian restaurant, but the food is the primary draw. Come here if you want some of the best Indian food in Fife!

The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, on first impressions. However, the noise was intense like a factory canteen. The seating is cramped and the overpacked restaurant, creates a claustrophobic overheated environment. People were shouting over one another in an ever increasing frenzied manner, large groups of male diners creating most of the noise. This certainly wouldn’t be somewhere you would go for a romantic dinner date on a Saturday evening. This should have been quelled by the arrival of the food, which was less than impressive. Bland tasteless was the consensus of the six of us having dinner. We wouldn’t ever contemplate a return visit to this restaurant…… worth missing, is the best advice.

Our recent experience at this curry house was undeniably disappointing. It began with chewy poppadoms that failed to set a good first impression. Unfortunately, the disappointment continued with the main dishes. The chicken tikka masala was dreadful, lacking seasoning and having a watery consistency. The Lahore tikka was equally unimpressive, with a bland taste and clumpy texture. Regrettably, this was the worst Indian meal my party and I have ever had. However, amidst the culinary letdown, there was a silver lining - the chicken pakora. It stood out as the sole redeeming factor, offering a satisfying flavour and texture compared to the rest of the dishes. Overall, our dining experience here was far from what we had hoped for. The lack of seasoning, consistency issues, and underwhelming flavours left us unsatisfied. Sadly, we won't be returning to this restaurant, and I cannot recommend it to others seeking a quality Indian meal.

Fantastic (British style) Indian food, pretty much as good as it gets. Only down side is that the actual restaurant is quite cramped and tables are very close together, this leads to a lot of cross conversation between tables.

Fantastic Indian restaurant in the heart of St Andrews. Was surprisingly lively and boisterous for a Tuesday night in August. Food was amazing with the best peshwari naan I'd tasted. Service was excellent and applaud the waiters for their attentiveness. Definitely worth a visit. Oh and a rather unique feature, is a see through indoor bridge over water. Highly recommended

Went to Annapurna for a meal with my mum last week, having heard some really great things about it. We both love Indian food but hadn't tried Gurkha/Nepalese before, so were looking forward to it and it definitely didn't disappoint! We were seated and attended to quickly, with the staff being very friendly. It was quite busy for a Wednesday evening and the staff's friendliness definitely helped with the atmosphere. It feels very homey and welcoming. I ordered the Gurkhali lamb which was so delicious. It was my first time ordering a Gurkha curry and I was so glad I did. It had a lovely heat to it but not overwhelming enough to not let you enjoy the spice. My mum ordered the Chicken Makhani which she really enjoyed too. A lovely slight spice but still deliciously creamy. The rice was perfect and the garlic naan we ordered was fantastic too. Not a single thing I'd change. To top it all off it's also extremely reasonably priced, including drinks. This will absolutely become a regular of mine, already thinking of my next meal. A huge kudos to the wait staff and chefs for providing such great service and food. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who enjoys a lovely curry.
