U Kitchen in Bolton

The salt & pepper box I ordered had no vegs, no peppers, onions garlic etc. and the taste of the contents tasted just like it came from freezer, no salt and pepper taste until put something on it!! Very disappointing!!! Will see about future visits!

Salt and pepper chicken mostly batter

the salt and pepper box was thrown together. One of the ribs has literally no meat on it. The chicken was really tough. I've ordered from here before and it's always been good but this time it was shocking. I've got photos to prove it.

first time ordering the thai red curry tonight, it was absolutely delicious. never had a bad meal from here. always hot and very tasty. we never go anywhere else.

Poor quality food with no taste

As always perfectly 👌 plenty of portions and hot never greasy and always fresh ingredients one of the best Chinese takeaways in Bolton plenty leftover for dinner tomorrow so works out cheap four meals for the price of two definitely recommend.

fried rice was clumpy and salty. king prawns were rubbery and curry sauce was salty too. Altogether a sorry affair! wouldn't order from here again.

About once a month we treat ourselves to a Chinese takeaway and every time we coose U Kitchen, not because it's very local, but for the choice and quality on top of the service we've received. Home delivery or pickup, it's been n top notch

Imo, not the best we have had. the price of the food is higher than the quality. This place is ok but it wouldn't and wasn't my first choice (the other place was shut). The food was ok but there wasn't much seasoning and very little flavour and tastes like it's been re warmed. still edible tho.

This has always been our go to takeaway however, we have felt it has been going down hill the last couple of times. Our order was cold, items missing which they did bring, after calling & trying to explain what was missing (that took a while) & the quality just wasn’t what it used to be which is a real shame. The staff however have always been lovely & very friendly. The delivery service has always been great! It’s just the food which is letting them down which we hope changes :(

Used to be our favourite, not anymore. I'm very disappointed. Last time we got takeaway, they messed up with vegetarian singapore Vermicelli big style. I only like green pepper, mushrooms, and eggs with singapore style hot Vermicelli. It was just boiled Vermicelli with eggs, green pepper, and mushroom. Today specifically told them I want all the spices but only mushroom, green pepper, and eggs. Sadly, same again. So bland, I had to add salt and a little red chilli flake, was pre-birthday dinner, and was looking forward to eating my favourite food. I called to ask them if they had changed the recipe or the new chef, and they said no but asked my mobile. That manager will call me. She calls me asking me to send picture, which I did, she said we do not put yellow colour too much, I explained even flavour is not there, she said it is our food and that's what we make. I told her I might have a previous picture, which I can send to compare, which I found from a year ago of my birthday dinner. She says yes, the colour does look different. Thanks for your feedback. If you do not trust your customer for £6.90 worth item, not worth spending over £60 from that place. Mistakes can happen only once. If someone asks to correct your mistake and same happen again means our custom is not appreciated. There are many Chinese takeaways here. What is with this takeaways that they can not keep consistency in food and service, why do they have to spoilt it so badly that you go off them completely.

Ordered a few salt and pepper munch boxes from different places in the recent weeks. This was the worst. Smallest portion and the worst tasting sweet and sour sauce. Would be very disappointed if I'd had paid the £16 full price

Mains were average (Malaysian chicken and schezwan chicken). Chicken and noodle soup was just boiled cabbage water with noodles/chicken added in. Broth didn't taste like chicken. Duck spring rolls were just vegetable. Won't order from here again

Absolutely amazing. We order from UKitchen often and it is without a doubt the best Chinese takeaway for miles. I recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings.

I dont get it, I ordered a sweet a sour chicken and as per the photo it is supposed to come with pineapple onions, carrots in a pot with the sauce mixed in. However, what i received was a small pot of sauce and a bag of deep fried chicken balls. Don't go off the pictures of meals as they are nothing like it. Salt and pepper chicken was OK... First time ordering from here but I'd never order from here again unfortunately.

The food was warm, not hot. The fried rice was dry and gloopy, there was very little curry sauce, the chips had been recooked and tasted awful, The Beef in Pineapple was very runny and did not come with any rice, The chicken chow mein tasteless

Asked to swap wings for shredded chicken or extra chicken ball’s in the box they did BUT I then got mountains of dry shredded chicken THREE chicken balls where as usually get around 6 and about 10 chips SHOCKING

Most of the food was great. The chips however are shocking, definitely reheated or kept warm for a long time. maybe as we ordered early these were yesterday's leftovers... would put me off ordering again.

I Don't recommend at all. I had two ordered, crispy chicken and Korean Beef. It was awful. Beef wasn't beef. It was any meat in the food. It was like dry bread, soaked in water and fried with flour. I'm not happy at all that. I Wasted my money. :/

Chicken satay terrible no taste what so ever

Food was bland to be honest. The Thai green curry had no flavour and had cherry tomatoes in which I’ve never had before. Partner said curry sauce tasted burnt.

Always a little slow with delivery but the food is always amazing ! Last week we got a half empty box but this week was filled and was so so good ! The noodles were bland very bland but apart from that was brilliant thankyou

Although it was early I ordered spring roll with duck . There was no duck in them. Seaweed crispy? Not crispy at all very stale. And Singapore noodles they were ok. This cost a fortune and for what I ordered half the quality was not good. Sorry

Loved the ribs forever but the pad Thai is also brilliant. Loads of it and will easily do two of you with a started a piece.

Ordered several times always delicious food and usually on time but this time was late and thus cold. Also app was saying it had been delivered when it hadn't. warmed it through and lovely as always.

It’s a shame to see some people’s experience has resulted with negative reviews- mainly regarding orders/ delivery but I simply had to write this review because the food we had was exceptional. Our order and delivery were actually correct and on time, we will definitely be ordering again as the food was exceptional.

The schezwan sauce was way too spicy (and I love hot food). It was like a whole bottle of siracha sauce was in it. Couldn’t eat much. Salt and pepper chips were good though.

Missed two items off the order, didn’t deliver missing items until an hour and a half later and they weren’t even cooked properly all food was wasted as cold and greasy by the time the missing items were delivered . Terrible will never order from this restaurant again.

Not had chicken chow mein very often so can't really compare with other takeaways, seemed a bit bland, but the chips were terrible, frozen chips! very dry, what a letdown !!

Usual order from here, can be fantastic quality. Whilst not the cheapest Chinese its usually worth the extra money. Unfortunately the last two meals I've ordered have been poor.

Our last two orders from here have been really disappointing. We’ve ordered salt and pepper chips and both times they have been incredibly dry, so much so we couldn’t eat them. They were bland and cold too. Thought the first time might have been a one off but after tonight we won’t be ordering salt and pepper chips from here again. Probably the worst salt and pepper chips we’ve ever had.

I've been looking forward to trying U kitchen for a while, but was disappointed with the roast Duck and loaded fries. However the Singapore fried rice and salt and pepper chicken was tasty

The food was poor, very little sauce on the chilli beef, I asked for extra pre order. The soup was almost tasteless and in general food was not hot!

Very poor from U Kitchen tonight. Box was sweaty, chicken tasted rubbery and nothing was crispy in the salt and pepper box. U Kitchen is usually a place I rave about but tonight was a shock.

Meal was delivered cold, tasted like it had been pre cooked and kept in the fridge, had a bad taste to it, definitely wasn’t freshly cooked. Won’t be using again. Over priced and very poor for the price.
