Went in hoping for food and coffees after a long walk. The car park was nothing short of irritating! Went inside and went to order food only to be told that there would be nothing available until after 5pm. Coffees weren’t special. Not even a cake to be had. Left disappointed and will not be returning.

I had heard that Ty'n y coed Hotel had undergone a full refurbishment and that the food was excellent. We were certainly not disappointed. A lovely warm welcome from Samantha was followed by a similar service from the waitress. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend a visit. Llawer o ddiolch.

We were recommended this pub but the staff at the YHA up the road. It was late after walking Snowdon, but we weren’t disappointed with the food. It was delicious and plenty of it. The parking issue has now been resolved and you just put your number plate in the machine as you enter and the parking is free. Highly recommend this pub.

Having eaten here for years I was shocked at the unpleasant experience which began with the scam of the parking. Suffice to say we will never be going back and wouldn't recommend anyone else supports them. A real pity as this was a wonderful place to eat and drink after a day in the mountains. The main problem is the attitude of the company and the manager. You now have to pay to park either by phone (you need an account) or by app (which charges more than the cost stated on the board). The board says this is refunded if you spend £10 in the pub, this is a bald faced lie. Upon entering we realised that if you put your registration in you can park for free, a bit late if you already paid by the app. Upon taking it up with the bar maid we were told they don't refund the parking if you spend £10 since it's a separate company that manages the parking. I asked for a manager who promptly arrived and was so unhelpful and rude that it was staggering. She told us we'd misunderstood, accused us of being abusive to the staff by complaining and, the final straw, told us that they "aren't social services". She offered no solution, no apology and when we pointed out that their business is responsible for the companies they contract she said "we're just staff". Clearly she doesn't understand that as manager she is the representative of the company she works for, it's definitely a difficult position to be in but if she can't maintain professionalism she should look for a less responsible job or work for a company that doesn't put their staff in the impossible situation of defending actions tantamount to fraud.

Having delivered a talk in Betws y Coed I and my five friends phoned ahead to ask if we could be fed. My talk was about leading groups to Everest Base Camp and raised funds for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team - the event was hosted by Rohan Designs. We arrived and ordered promptly. The hotel had recently re-opened after a massive refurbishment and was decorated to a high standard with some great pictures. The service was professional and friendly. The burger I ordered was one of the best I’d had for quite some time. Highly recommended.

The Tyn y Coed has been refurbished to a modern but comfortable standard and still maintains a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor includes wonderful, colourful posters of local scenery reminiscent of the style of railway posters along with art from several other sources. The food maintains the usual high standard with a variety of dishes. Good luck to the Tyn y Coed, Capel Curig!

I drove past here on the way to betsw y coed from my campsite and thought I’ll visit on the way back. It was empty inside and the friendly bar staff handed me a lunch menu which had a nice little selection. I had the bbq chicken panini which came with salad and a handful of crisps ( chips if you’re American) . The food was nice and really hot which was great as outside the weather was bleak. Staff were friendly and smiling, the place soon filled up with people and seemed popular.

We stayed here overnight to then have easy access to the Penrhyn Quarry to do the velocity 2 zip wire. The rooms were very comfortable and had most things you would need for an overnight stay. My room did not have a hairdryer but others may have done. Neither of the rooms my friends and I had had hot water for a shower in the morning but we didn’t have time to ask staff as we were running late for the zip wire event. That may have been a simple fix. The rooms were basic but comfy. The food in the pub was very tasty… my friend has cottage pie and I had sausages. Locally sourced and good quality. The staff could not be faulted. They were very friendly, professional and welcoming.

We went for an evening meal whilst camping. You're not looking for fine dining - you're looking for good warning pub food in a nice place to get warm and dry at the end of a monster day. It was really busy when we walked in, so the heart sank a little, but the owner/manager (not sure who he was exactly) was straight-away on us and told us that he'd have a table in about 45 minutes. Although they were busy, he was really welcoming. We were lucky as a table actually became free right there and then. We saw the same guy all evening working really hard to greet every person who came through the door and see that they got a table, or at the very least knew the score of what he could do for them. Spot on. Food was good - exactly right for the purpose - and not over-priced. Beer was also great - local and plenty of choice.

We visited the Snowdonia area in late August. My partner is vegetarian and I'm not a big meat eater so we were looking for suitable places to eat, and the Tyn-y-Coed pub completely fitted the bill. The food was high standard pub food and the service was great. We loved our Welsh rarebit starter, my partner's veggie cottage pie was lovely as was my chicken stuffed with cheese and broccoli, and the crumble at the end was amazing. You order at the bar, but one of the guys serving said he wasn't busy and would take our order anyway. Staff were constantly checking tables from afar to see if anyone needed anything, and they were very friendly. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely return on our next visit to the area. Note that you have to call to book a table but we didn't have a problem doing this, the phone was picked up quickly and the reservation taken without any issues.

Group of us were this this weekend after a long day up the mountains. We were greeted by the owner at the bar as we had already found our clearly marked table. The beer was excellent but the food was better. Rib-eye steaks were all cooked to perfection and the starters went down a treat (the black pudding and bacon was fab!). This is the sort of place which, if it was in the middle of a town or somewhere less remote, you'd probably pass by. The food was not bad (bit pricey for what you got), the interior pretty spartan, and some OK beers (if a bit tasteless). But when you come in from the cold and wind it all seems cosy and welcoming, and the food and beer suddenly seems the best.So choose your pre-food activities wisely - be energetic! - and you'll think it's great. But if you're just passing, you might want to carry on a bit further.

In fact we returned a second night after dinner elsewhere for dessert. Good welsh gin selection. Very busy on the Friday night, might’ve been best to book a table if coming again, assume for lots of folk climbing the mountain the next day. Quite pricey for a 2-3 course plus drinks but not too expensive. £40+ a head for mains, dessert and a couple of wines/gin. Great village location up the road from Snowdon car parks though and small village means pubs are likely walking distance from wherever you stay. Would recommend for a hiking/mountain trip

I visited this pub for evening dinners during a stay at Snowdon. The food was fabulous - almost everything comes with chips! There is a selection of food for vegetarians including sausages, pies, curry, pasta and a daily veg special. It is a relatively small venue but despite that has over 50 varieties of whiskey.

We had a nice evening meal here after sport climbing and hiking. We were fancying a hearty evening meal, and that’s what we got. However, we did feel it was a little overpriced for the food we got and honestly, the presentation wasn’t exactly appetising. However it tasted okay, and we had clean plates after finishing.. (although that may be due to us being very hungry)

Reliable good pub grub - so reliable that we went there twice! One of our party has recently become gluten free and so we were delighted to find nearly every item in the menu had a gluten free option.

Around 12 miles from Llanberis and about 4 miles from Betswy-coed this place has parking, it's quite big. We had a good meal. Just under £30 for two of us including drinks.

Visited a few times whilst we stayed at the B&B.; Nice cost atmosphere. Pleasant garden area. Food was pretty good. Nice beer selection (especially Purple Moose ales) and plenty of quality whiskies on offer. Staff and locals friendly and helpful.

Good local beers and an enormous whisky selection. Some very good pub meals which are certainly designed for those that have spent their days climbing and hiking in the National Park. Tasty and large!

I have to say, after recently visiting the Tyn-y-Coed Inn on Tuesday and Wednesday evening of this week after climbing Snowdon this place delivered on many levels.

Stayed in early June as group of 10 walking in national park over the weekend. We booked rooms and bunk space (sleeps 5). We’ve stayed before and welcomed as ever. Great filling breakfasts set you up for mountains with lots of choice and a variety of cooked meals to order (including porridge). Cater for vegans with milk substitutes. Also excellent to have bar/restaurant on doorstep so not too far to struggle after a long days walking. Good variety of bar meals and generous pizzas recommended. Evening meals a little limited for vegans ( but this is the sort of place that will address that is its some notice) and lots of choice for veggies.

Stayed here once with my parents when I was a kid and my mum did her geological mapping from this as a base. This time it was only a coffee stop, but it was more than fine.

This Inn is ideally situated as a place to have a informal bar meal, drink and rest, after doing some local walking trails, etc. Or a three course meal, if one chooses. With a fair sized off-road car park nearby.

Went for lunch today for the first time. Lovely fresh food. I had the scampi which was nice and golden brown with homemade chips . Husband had the gammon with homemade chips. A joy to find chips cooked like that as a lot of places do frozen. Staff were attentive and friendly, checked we were enjoying our meal. Will definitely return.

Another visit to this lovely site and this brilliant restaurant. The food is always gorgeous and tasty. The staff are really friendly and always make you feel so welcome. We had two evening meals there and a Sunday Roast which was simply the best we have ever tasted. So you can imagine our shock and horror when we were told that the bar and restaurant is to knocked down to accomodate two more mobile homes. This is an absolute travesty and will be a huge loss to the site. In fact a site with zero facilities will not be top of my list in the future. Thanks to Mo and the team for doing such a brilliant job.
