Two Thai in Lancaster

A big thank you to Alex for looking after us on a busy night. The food took slightly longer than expected but was definitely worth the wait.

Cute independent Thai place in Lancaster. On arrival we were the only visitors seated so atmosphere was pretty quiet. Service was very polite and considerate. The food is quite expensive and the variety on the menu is limited - the classics are available ie Thai red/green/massaman curries and Thai noodles, and there is another ‘street food’ option on the menu but these options were more expensive than the main menu. The food was good, but did not reflect the price, and the portion sizes were smaller than expected. My partner was disappointed at the serving of pork with his street food main, as there were only five small slithers of pork served with rice and sliced cucumber (£17 approx.) We had the impression that this was Thai-inspired rather than an authentic Thai restaurant. Overall a nice meal but wouldn’t visit again based on the price of the food and the limited menu options, we prefer to visit Araya Thai.

Booked weeks in advance for son’s graduation celebration meal. On arrival (bang on time) our table had been given to walk-in customers and we were told to go away for 30 mins. No apology, appalling customer service. We ate 20 yards away at a lovely Turkish restaurant Anatolia, great service and value for money there, food was great. Since been told that the other Thai restaurant in Lancaster (Araya) is much better.

Booked a table weeks in advance to celebrate our son’s graduation. Turned up to find they had given our table to walk-in customers. Rabbit-in-headlight response to sorting out their mistake “come back in 30 mins”…..no, we wont be doing that. Customer service nil. Go 20 yards down the road to the Anatolia, food 10/10, service, 10/10, value for money 10/10.

Food is very good, atmosphere would have been improved without a very loud party, but that is the price of going to a good restaurant at the weekend! Food is freshly cooked, and therefore it takes time to prepare. Prepare to wait for your meal, it will be worth it.

Always great service - a happy and smiling front of house with good knowledge of the menu and a very presentable style. Nice atmosphere all round.

Lovely meal for six. Great portions of lovely tasty food.

We dined here last night and each one of agreed how sweet the food tasted. Authentic Thai should be salty, sour and hot and unfortunately this tasted like it had been altered to accommodate western tastes. We all ate our food and were happy to pay £60 for 3 main courses and 3 drinks but it wasn’t worth it at all. The portion sizes are ridiculously small. Unfortunately we won’t return

Lovely, bright vibrant restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Staff were so friendly and attentive including the owner who stopped to make sure we were happy. Food was delicious and portion sizes just perfect. We will definitely return next time we are in Lancaster

Lovely place, really tasty 😋 can't complain about service or food it was amazing would highly recommend. More of a cafe vibe than restaurant. But the food was gorgeous! We came for our anniversary and the staff decorated the table and made sure we had a nice table in the window we didnt ask for this so was lovely gesture. Look forward to visiting again

Amazing Halal thai food They had both Halal beef and chicken i requested them to put halal sign outisde that will help others. Loved the food and special thai drinks. Soup and appetisers were superb. Owner must get registered as Halal place.

So kind and helpful. The food was amazing and the staff were also amazing and had amazing customer service. Will be visiting again !! 100000 recommend. Price was also fair not overpriced! For reference what I got was Khao garlic & honey sesame which was amazing !!!!!

We visit Two Thai whenever we come to Lancaster. There is always a friendly welcome at this lovely restaurant. We have enjoyed wide range of delicious, authentic Thai food and have never been disappointed. Well worth a visit. 😋

Service was a little slow, but it was clear that the place didn't expect to have as many customers as it did. That aside, the food was amazing! Will be coming back.

Ordered take away, not advised. The pad Thai- noodles clumped together and lacked the authentic taste. The jasmine rice- I had to cut through the rice, it was solid The red curry taste nice but so runny. Not sure if this food was so bad as a takeaway so my review is only for the takeaway option.

Booked for Friday evening at 7pm. Worth booking as tables filled up. Food was delicious, crispy squid as a special I recommend. Drinks reasonably priced with 2 draft lagers available.

We got there early on Saturday evening before it got busy, food was good and service was excellent.

Went with my friends who tried Thai food for the first time. So I recommended we tried all the authentic Thai food and they were all amazing. As Thai myself, it is difficult to find a restaurant that serves Thai street food so when I have a chance, I definitely have to try as many dishes as possible and Two Thai definitely did not disappoint! Their crispy belly pork and roasted duck were so good, my friends rated them so much. I personally enjoyed mixed seafood tom yum hotpot and the crispy fish which served as a whole! We will definitely be back there for sure. And the service was really good too. Lovely atmosphere in a cute little restaurant. Highly recommend

My husband loves Thai food so much so when we stopped in Lancaster for the night we just had to try Two Thai and the food was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our starter platter to share which included everything, the duck spring roll especially was so good. I had their street food dish, pork skewers with papaya salad. It was so refreshing and the pork was so good I finished them all even though the portion size was massive. My husband had red curry with beef and he said it was so good he ordered another one with chicken home. The restaurant is definitely worth visiting and we will be back for sure next time we pass through Lancaster.

Found this place when I visited my daughter who study at Lancaster University. She loves the food and the atmosphere here so she suggested all of us to try it out and it surely did not disappoint! Love the food especially the curries. We had green curry and the spice level was on point! The panang curry was so thick, we love it so much. The staff were all very friendly even though it was quite busy but they were very attentive. The restaurant was small but very cosy and lovely. Will definitely be back for more good food again. Next time we will try some of their street food menu.

Had a meal.booked for seven pm, arrived slightly earlier at 6.40 and was promptly sat down..place was busy which is a good sign. Went down hill after that. Was asked at 7.00 if we were ready to order food and drinks. At 7.45 had to ask if our food was ready, brought mains out and we hadn't even had starters. They stated starters would.be 5 minutes and would remove from bill...15 minutes later they arrived. When mains finally arrived my green curry had a whole three slices of chicken in it. Whole table commented on lack of meat in dishes. Had to ask for cutlery. Was past complaining and couldn't wait to get out. Would not go back. Service from waiting staff was abysmal.

Nice little place but average food & overpriced. Got a sprite to drink and it was £2.20 just for a can of sprite! The starters are expensive 4 veg spring rolls for £6.95 tasted nice but nothing special also would of beem nice to have a side plate as we shared the starter. Tofu Phad thai had about 7 pieces of tofu & i ate it all but it tasted a little bland, again for £12.95 was expecting better. My friend got green curry & she said it was nice but it came in a small bowl and the rice came in small bowl too would of been nice to have a plate to put it on! The staff were friendly and efficient but upon finishing meal the bill was slapped on the table when we hadn’t even asked for it like they was trying to get rid of us! The presentation of the dishes wasn’t great either.

Lovely evening at Two Thai. Meal for two, authentic, tasty food and the waitress was very helpful. We will be visiting again.

We came across this little Thai hidden gem by accident when we walked from the train station! And it was an absolutely amazing find! I have travelled to Thailand more than 2-3 times in the past and I have to say the food was so authentic and fresh! I particularly loved the tom yum soup and the mhoo ping dish with papaya salad. The staffs were really great and friendly too. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!!

Took my fiance to dine at Two Thai for her birthday and the food surely was not disappoint! My fiance loved her pad thai with tofu so much so she ordered another portion for her sister to take back with her in the end! I had a khao gai zap and it was just the right level of spice and the toasted rice in there was amazing! The staff made us feel so welcome and special as we are offered a table by the window with the candle lit and even a slice of chocolate cake on the house. That was really nice! Excellent value for money definitely worth a visit and we will be back for more!

Expected really tasty authentic Thai food. Was served tepid, tasteless, uninspiring food. Really disappointing. On the plus side. The staff were lovely!

We have eaten here before and it was delicious and we were really impressed and recommended to friends and family. Tonight we decided to get a takeaway and while the food was really tasty the portion sizes were tiny. In particular we were disappointed to order a Pad Khing Ginger with tofu stir fry which we rightly or wrongly assumed would include noodles however we actually paid £12 for 5 bits of tofu with a small amount of peppers and onions plus sauce. We ordered two mains, two starters and a sticky rice to feed two people and we were both left hungry after the fact. In total this came to £46. Value for money was very poor.

Cracking little boozer this. Wasn’t sure whether it would be quite my scene but after settling down to the bar with a pint I knew I was right at home. Not bad prices on pints and great service from a lovely lady on the bar called Merleay! Will be returning here again with pals for an upcoming birthday function 👊🏻

We found this restaurant when they had a stall in Lancaster uni campus. We decided to go to the restaurant to try more of their food, and I’m not disappointed. Amazing Thai food, especially the red Thai curry 🙌

Only moved to the area in the last year or so and i have to say my wife and I are delighted we found this little gem in town. Amazing food and the coconut rice is the best we’ve ever tried.

I ordered the garlic sesame toast, papaya salad and khao gai zaap. The waiter explained that the khao gai zaap is pretty spicy - perfect for me and also was very helpful in answering any questions our table asked. The service was quick and friendly. Food was also top tier. We will be back that’s for sure.

Firstly, I ordered a drink of coke at £2.20 for a can of coke to be brought to my table. This was not a good start knowing I've paid £4.40 for 2 x cans of coke. I ordered prawn tempura for starters. £8 for 4 small prawns. As I took my first bite into the prawn, I instantly saw the poo sack. This genuinely put me off. I then looked at the 3 other prawns and the poo sack was left in all of them. It made me feel sick. It takes a second to remove the poo sack and the effort was not there on these 4 over priced prawns. For my main, I ordered the Panang. This tasted almost like an authentic panang curry but just not quite there. When I paid my bill, there was £4.97 tax added onto the receipt. I asked for an explanation and they said it is like this everywhere. I left feeling confused and over charged massively. The toilet is full of black mould too.

If you are looking for authentic Thai food this is not the place .

The best Thai restaurant in Lancaster!!I had the Siamese lemon fish and it was the absolute best! This is my go-to restaurant. The prices are worth it too! An authentic restaurant indeed. The customer service was 10/10. Very lively and helpful staffs.

Thai food with localised, I don’t think it tastes good. Milk tea is made with milk tea powder, which is not recommended.

Thought I would give this place a try. Unfortunately it was a big let down and a lot of the food was left. A lot of the food was quite bland in taste especially the Tom Yam Goon soup. There was little to no taste at all. Salad was ok but a bit basic. Main course however was really not nice. The battered chicken in chilli sauce tasted really artificial like what you would get on a kebab. Plates seemed cheap and had rust on. Not sure if this is the look they were going for. Price wise at first glance seems reasonable but when you see the portion sizes it is actually quite expensive for what you get. I would recommend Araya Thai if you want a decent Thai meal. Only redeeming factor is the waitress who was friendly and good at her job.

Disappointing, I love Thai food but here the portion sizes where really poor, the pad kaprow, which is supposed to be spicy, had no spice at all, there was virtually no chicken in the dish, mainly veg and no where near enough sauce/marinade. The starter of filo king prawn was oily and only 4 pieces.

Loved our meal at Two Thai. It is a small, cosy restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and decor. The menu is varied with plenty of choice for vegans/vegetarians. Some decent drink choices too, and all very reasonably priced especially for the quality and portion sizes. I had the tempura veg to start and the Thai fried rice with tofu and they were both amazing! My partner had the chicken wings and a pork dish and said they were fantastic. The staff were really friendly, too. Portion sizes were perfect - starters weren’t small by any means. The only reason I took off a star was because they don’t have a dessert menu and the toilet facilities were very limited but this wouldn’t stop me from going back.

Really good service. The food was very average; maybe just an off day because most other reviews tell a different story. Presentation was non-existent, the portions were small and there wasn't enough sauce. We had the starter platter, Khao Gai Zaap, and roasted duck. Perhaps my expectations were overinflated from reading the reviews. Disappointed.

It was okay, small portions and expensive price. Menu choices are good but wasn’t executed excellently, meat were all lean (no flavourful cuts), the pork skewers was loin cut (not belly) and didn’t taste smokey. We had the starter platter for two to start, which was amazing. The spring rolls were homemade and so delicious. The peanut sauce had actual peanuts and very tasty. Next we had the mains. We had the marinated pork on the street treats menu, and the red curry with jasmine rice. Both were absolute perfection. Huge portions, but didn't feel gross after. The service was friendly and attentive, even though the place was buzzing. Will definitely be returning to try other dishes.
