Only popped in but there was a band playing who were brilliant everyone was packed in but everyone was in good humour

Great atmosphere and fantastic live band!

A lovely old fashion traditional pub. We popped in around lunchtime mid week for a couple pints. Very cosy little boozer.

Walked in and ordered a pint and a tap water for my wife. The barman looked at me like I'd just asked to murder his dog , no wonder pubs are going under 🤣

Cosy Shepherd Neame pub in Rochester High street. Clean, tidy and well stocked. Relatively small but makes good use of the space.

Traditional Shepherd Neame pub on Rochester High Street. We went there on a Saturday evening in early February and it was really lively. I used to go there in the 1980s and came back to it again in 2025. It's not changed much.

Great popular 🎵 music venue. Despite it being Shep's the beer is so well kept that it is very quaffable.

I had no food, the band Shaw Thing were playing, I was glad that when I arrived my friends were at the back of the pub as I find the music rather loud. I totally embarrassed myself when arriving I gave a kiss on the cheek to "a friend" sitting down at a table, only to realise that "my friend" was in fact 2 meters behind the lady whose cheek I kissed - to be fair to myself: 1.both the lady I kissed and my friend have a very similar hairstyle, 2. My recent cataract operation may have contributed to the error, 3. The lady I assaulted with a kiss was not "too concerned" about what happened and 4. As news spread of what happened, the degree of mirth in the pub increased! :-)

Great pub for some Sunday afternoon live music. Always a good crowd in their who like their music. The Zac-schultz band were great

Stopped for a quick drink before returning to our hotel. The atmosphere was great, felt very welcomed so stayed for a few more drinks

I’ve been here a few times and the owners aren’t the most welcoming - but today was something else! The man behind the bar was extremely rude and grumpy to the point that I thought he was having me on and I was on a prank show. I don’t know what must’ve happened but don’t project that anger onto your customers - especially when you’re then happily taking £30 for the round. Hopefully some new owners come in soon as it’s a nice little pub that’s unfortunately let down by the people running it.

If you want a drink in a traditional pub in the middle of all the trendy bars in Rochester, then look no than The Two Brewers and the beer was great too! Other bars and pubs should take lessons from them on how to keep a decent cellar!

Friendly landlords, no loud music unless they got some fantastic bands playing like The Zak Schulze gang. 🎸🍺🥂

Proper old fashioned pub. Great beer and no grub. Marvellous landlady with a great sense of humour.

my preferred place for a pint in Rochester. Pub has undergone a refurb in recent years. Much better toilets.

A nice traditional pub amid the old Rochester surroundings. Friendly atmosphere. I I recommend visitors to drop in for a drink.

Nice clean and tidy town pub and friendly atmosphere. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food. Reasonable selection of beers.

A really good solid, clean pub. Service was promot and solid. TV showed football results coming in. Got a table early in the evening and it started to fill up on Saturday after 5pm. Drinks fairly priced for the area. A good, solid pub which is seemingly popular.

We came to watch the rugby as we pop in from time to time when in the high street and know they advertise showing it. Pub is good 3-4 stars for me. But to watch sport, it isn't great. It feels like although they are advertising it, they don't really want you in there. Having the sound on is not something they want to do. They didn't put the sound on for England v Wales until after the anthems. Such a shame to miss that. Once the game finished, it almost emptied the pub, so it wasn't as if it was just us watching the game. Beers are ok, cask in good condition but feel they're missing opportunities with the range that Shepherd Name have. They have 1698 in bottles, but that's it. It feels an opportunity lost to carry a little bit more choice than the usual Shep's beers you get anywhere. Good pub, but I wouldn't bother again for sport or the rugby

Went for the Band and music. On tap beer a bit limited and staff were not exactly welcoming or efficient. OK pub but no more.

Pub isn't bad, and after a few years of going the staff finally smiled, and the atmosphere was good.

Sunday afternoon.... live music lover? Then this is the place you want to be. Nestled in the end of Rochester high street that has the large car park, this is a little gem of a venue and, is very popular, not the largest of pubs but full of charm and perfect for a stop off after mooching around the historic town.

Great British pub, a real local. Sue and Kevin are excellent hosts. Well kept beer, lovely friendly atmosphere. Wine selection limited.

Just a hovel. And the miserable couple behind the bar that I assume were the landlords were as welcoming as herpes.

Surprising rude and hostile staff. I don’t know if they were having a bad day but the two older staff (50’s?) huffed because I brought my well behaved 10yr old child in whilst I had a quick drink and warm up. I was told they don’t have kids drinks as they don’t normally allow them in!; there were other kids in there… I felt like I was transported back to 1970 😂 I also asked what beers were on draft and it was a struggle for a reply! Made me feel very unwelcome so I had a half and went to Weatherspoon’s after which was great in comparison. I will not be returning and strange as it’s a Shepherd Neame pub which are usually great.

A friendly cosy little pub, a nice barmaid on Thursdays when we visit and she always remembers our drinks orders every time we go in. Sadly she is retiring in September.

Visited twice in a day. Very few people in there first visit, plus a bit of trouble with a couple of drunks. Second visit, there was quite a few more. Could have been a nice pub but for the landlord and landlady not being able to crack a smile between them. Seemed like they didn't want to be there!

This is the best place to be on a Sunday afternoon if you like live music. It is simply fantastic, all swashed together gives a great atmosphere. You can't beat it.

Relatively new to the area and have been exploring the local pubs along the High Street. Without doubt now that I have done them all this is by far the best Pub in town! Had a lovely experience. Chilled atmosphere. Spotlessly clean with a charming Bar Lady. Highly recommended!

Very Warm welcome, family in Rochester for a wedding. Didn't try the Real Ales as it was late and we were on spirits. But will do on our return. Lovely pub and hosts....
