They’ve got ice cream figured out!

This has been the worst experience with a gift card I have EVER had. I’ve never left a negative review in my life until now. My wife and I received a twenty dollar electronic gift card for Christmas for our visit to Savannah in January. Our last day in the city, we went in person, stood in line for fifty minutes, and bought twenty dollars of ice cream… only to be told the gift card doesn’t work for purchases made in the store itself (the gift card section on the website does NOT specify it can only be used online but does call it “the perfect gift”). We pay the twenty dollars and figured we’d use the gift card for buying ice cream electronically for my birthday in April. Today we went on Leopold’s website and it’s 13 dollars a pint and you have to purchase a minimum of 5 pints. So with shipping factored in (and twenty dollars looks to be the cheapest option for shipping), I’d be looking at spending, what, eighty five dollars plus tax just to use a gift card of twenty? Holy cow. I’d have rather never received the gift card in the first place than go through this hassle.

Good. But not worth standing on line for more than 10 minutes.

The ice cream is almost custard like. Tastes ok, nothing to particularly rave about.

I have been there yesterday , my friend has to so much about the place and taste of this ice cream , after listening to all of these i thought it is overrated but , when i visited that place and had a first bite of that ice cream i am totally mad to it , the price for two scoops is only $7 and it tastes like a very quality ice cream , i tried 1 scoop of japanese cherry blossom and pistachio and 1 scoop of pistachio ice cream. Its so delicious that i cannot explain ♥️

Ice cream is good but 4.7 is overvalued, for me, the experience is like a normal ice cream parlour.

Had the Coffee ice cream and it hit the spot even more so on a rainy day. Staff were friendly everywhere and had a nice chat with one of them as we sat outside to enjoy our ice cream. I’d recommend you stop by if you’re looking for some ice cream.

What a cute old school place. Went for the touristy-ness of it all but was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the ice cream but also the retro ice cream parlour vibe! The staff were all young kids and so polite and hard working serving a very long line of excited patrons.

I'm not sure what all the rave is about. The ice cream tastes average. The tutu fruit has high fructose corn syrup. The ingredients are nott any thing special. The staff was very nice.

My husband and I had a double scoop waffle cone and a pup cup for our dog Q. The scoops were exceedingly generous and the ice was creamy and flavorful. Probably the best ice cream I have ever had. Q loved her pup cup with the doggie biscuit on top !!! When we got there the line was not too bad and moved quickly. The front line staff were friendly and quick on filling the order to minimize wait time. The cashier must have been having a bad day as he was less than hospitable. I would definitely return when in Savannah again.

The line is ALWAYS long but so so worth it! This ice cream was delicious! I got the cookie dough and lavender ice cream on a cookie. So. Good. It was highly indulgent. But good!

We did have to wait 45+ minutes in line. But it was completely worth it. The staff was excellent, the ice cream delicious. And the prices were normal.

If you're in Savannah and are wanting ice cream, come check out Leopold's. Around since 1919, line moves quickly. Pretty cool place. Ice cream was good, we had banana, butter pecan, coconut, and tried the chocolate milkshake. The milk shake was way too chocolately. Cool place to visit.

We were on way home and checked the ice cream places in Savannah. After that we decided to may be try Leopold ice cream and after may be 20 different places we end up there . It was long line but people come and give some water told us about the ice cream and as we are from Wisconsin and we are quite picky about our ice cream … we can easily put this in our top 3 places in USA so far . As service, atmosphere and flavor and options. Quite impressive end of our walk . We will be back one day . Thanks

Visited for an afternoon treat with an out of town visitor. Always have new flavors to try so you can never be bored!! I tried Rose Petal flavor this time and it was very delicious 😋. Not tooooo sweet and very subtle rose flavor.

This is a fun ice cream shop with really good homemade ice cream. Perfect size kids cups as well as generous scoops for our waffle cones. The waffle cones were also very good.

The best ice cream shop ever!!! So so delicious. I had tutti frutti & lemon custard. It has a gelato texture and is not overly sweet. While we were waiting, a staff member passed around and gave us a glass of water. What a great customer service! The line is bit long but it is worthy to wait. If I have another chance to visit Savannah, I will definitely come back!!! 😊😊

We came at the busiest, hottest part of the day on Easter. The line was long but Sarah was on top of it serving ice waters constantly to the line. She was super professional, polite, and attended to the line outside constantly making the wait a better experience. Inside was cool and extremely clean! Sarah should be employee of the month for her great customer service, big smile, genuineness, and passion for her job! I had the lemon custard and my sister had thin mint both were amazing! 100/10 would visit again

Love Leopold's, line may look long but moves quickly. Absolutely well worth the wait, will take you that long to settle on your favorite flavor! (And time to change your mind) Great staff, clean and wonderful Savannah experience.

Going to Leopoldo’s was the worst experience of my vacation-people cut in line after others wait 1hour and nobody cares. The ice cream was a huge disappointment and my niece had to throw her shake away it was so awful. Save your time and money and avoid this place-the people and food are horrible.

Great ice cream that's worth the wait. We went to Leopold's and saw a very long line. We waited about 25 minutes but were rewarded with the most deliciuos and richest ice cream we have evr had. The scoops were generous and overall, not too pricey considering the quantity and quality. If you are in Savannah, give Leopold's a try!

So there was a line out the door and down the street for this place. I kind of feel like it was so hyped up that when we did get ice cream here, it did not live up to our expectations. Don’t get me wrong, it was still really great ice cream. It just wasn’t really worth waiting in line for 45 minutes for. Also, something that kind of annoyed me but probably should not have, is the excessive taste testing they were encouraging at the front counter. If you’re tasting more than 2 flavors before you buy ice cream, maybe come back when the line is shorter.

Welp, this place is pretty great. Come prepared to stand in line! If you are backed up to the theater, it's about a 20 minute wait. I'm on vacation and not in a hurry so I needed to see what this was all about and I was not disappointed! They have tons of unique ice cream options including seasonal flavors, vegan, and dairy free. You can sample a flavor or two if you are undecided. I went with the thin mint cookie sandwich. This thing was huge and amazing! They do have free water and also another room to sit and eat your treat. Highly recommend - this place won't disappoint!

Delicious ice cream! We got off the trolley in time where there wasn’t a line. By the time we got our ice cream & paid there was a line. They had fast service though! The ice cream was soooo good!!

Extremely accommodating for our son with a severe tree nut allergy. A staff member came outside to the queue and asked if we had any questions. A sign on the menu indicates to customers with allergies a realistic expectation of what they can do to decrease the risks of cross-contamination, so that you can make an informed decision. I can’t tell you how nice it was to have a normal food experience and to be able to tell our son, YES, you can enjoy a treat! We got single scoops of ice cream, which were extremely generous portions. My husband got the brownie sundae. We shared a cherry coke and Vanilla Coke. Absolutely delicious and worth the wait in line.

If you are near, you must go! The banana ice cream in a waffle cone is hard to beat. This is a quick thing and still one of the top things to do in Savannah along with walking tours and the Savannah Bee Co. Bee Garden tour.

Quant but too small for even half the patrons to actually sit down. It takes a while to get through the line and pay. My girl scout and socialite scoops on my waffle cone were great. Huge scoops. The hot fudge on my husband's sundae was gritty which he did not like.

The atmosphere of Leopold’s is very retro and appealing, but I honestly wasn’t impressed with the ice cream. The chocolate chip cookie dough flavor was extremely gritty and had almost no chocolate chips in it, but the chocolate & chocolate chip flavor was good. The scoops of ice cream are huge, so bonus points for that, but every single employee looked and acted totally miserable. I’m sure they were tired of the extreme business, but they kind of made you feel bad to even be there. It wasn’t enjoyable and my whole friend group found somewhere else down the block to sit and eat our ice cream.

They can turn any of their ice cream selections into a milk shake. Although wait was outside the door (I've seen longer lines at this establishment...ESPECIALLY on weekends), the line moved at a steady pace.

The best ice cream on the planet! Their apple pie is better than Grandmas. They even brought a treat out for my dog! There is always a long to get in, but it moves quickly and well worth the wait. We will definitely go back.

One of the last excellent locations left in Savannah, in my opinion. While the rest of the city seemed asleep or closed up around 7pm on 3/6, this place was warm and welcoming, full of families, couples, and all around seemingly great people/staff.

This is a famous ice cream shop in the area. When you first try it, you might think it's a bit expensive, but once you get it, the amount of ice cream is quite large. In most cases, there is a wait, which is usually around 10 to 20 minutes. They also give water to waiting customers and explain how to order. Detailed explanations, including gluten-free/vegan menus, are provided on the menu. If you ever come to this area, I recommend a visit.

Came because everyone said it was a Savannah staple. Ice cream was okay, but the service was really lacking and the girl that gave me my ice cream was really rude and rushed me even though I only asked for one sample and the line wasn’t even long.

Very crowded after dinner hours. We waited about 20 minutes around 8 pm. But worth the wait! I enjoyed two different flavors. The almond and honey flavor as well as the rum raisin.

My first time in Savannah and while walking around we came upon this loonnngggg line to this ice cream parlor. My son got in line and I sat at a table outside. The line was very long and I was wondering what is the hype, it’s ice cream. Well the butter pecan scoop I had was amazing. It has creaminess to it that was very smooth and delicious. It’s worth the wait.

The long line outside was well worth the wait! And once inside I could understand why - the servers were patient with all who wanted a taste and all who had trouble deciding. My companions had malts and liked them so much they went back after I had flown home to Minnesota!

This place is great. Highly recommend, despite waiting in line for 15-20 minutes. They even brought out water for us waiting in line outside. Customer service was phenomenal, everyone was so kind and professional. The ice cream was flavorful. Also, there was a juke box that was working and I picked out a song on it. Fun time.

First time trying Leopold’s Ice Cream and it was great! Everyone here was super nice and we were able to try different flavors (really liked the red velvet but didn’t end up choosing that one). We ended up getting the chocolate chewies and cream and the lemon custard. I always love ice creams that have some sort of texture to it and the chocolate chewies and cream definitely hit that spot! 10/10 would recommend! Will definitely be trying out different flavors if/when I visit again in the future!

While we were waiting, a kind gentleman from Leoplods passed out small cups of ice cold water, so thoughtful! After ordering, there is a small dine in room with tables and chairs to enjoy your sweet treat.  We enjoyed seeing the movie posters and movie decor. 📍Pro Tip: You can skip the line, enter the dine in room, and walk directly back to the back room to find a stand-up freezer with prepackaged pint containers to purchase. Choose your favorite flavor from the freezer, ask politely for a spoon, and enjoy the same great Leoplods ice cream without the long line! You're welcome!

I had the delicious cookies squared flavor with hot fudge & my husband had the savannah socialite. This pregnant woman was in heaven! I've had a lot of ice cream through my life but this was some of the best I've ever had. Great flavor & really creamy. The line was out the door but moved quickly. Would love to return someday!

A return visit to Leopolds and was just as good as I had remembered. We had read about the flavour Savannah Socialite and weren’t disappointed. Chocolatey goodness with pecans and bourbon caramel. Yummy. The shop has a lot of movie memorabilia due to it being owned by a Hollywood producer (his family started it many moons ago). A must visit if you’re in town

So many of my friends insisted that I come here and try the ice cream while I was in town. I was already pretty full from lunch, but I spotted the store and was suprized by the LONG line outside. 😅 But I hopped in line and saw on the menu outside they had a Rose flavored ice cream for February. I got a small cup and WOW!!! Absolutely delicious 😋 😍 I think about that ice cream every day now and wish i lived closer.

Pretty long wait for 8pm on a Sunday, but understandable after you get THE BEST ICE CREAM YOU’VE EVER HAD. Did you know Morgan Freeman went here? Yes, God liked this ice cream enough to put his signed photo endorsement on the wall. And Hannibal Lecter as well! That’s some good ice cream, buster.

Akeem was big and tasty, but a little smelly. Why? Was there Akeem on his nose? Hmm, the atmosphere and friendliness were good. Memoum calf.

Love this ice cream shop. Employees were very accommodating trying to make a chocolate soda. Even kept tweaking it until it tasted just right.
