Turtle Bay in Chelmsford

Me and my partner came in on new years eve. We had lots of drinks. Great service by Brooke.

Second time visiting and was slightly disappointed, giving leniency that it’s new years so extremely busy. The food is quite bland but I’m assuming that’s due to this being a Caribbean restaurant in Chelmsford and not London, We ordered a Trini Cod and It tasted like B-O, the starters were nice, prawns were delicious, not sure about the sweetcorn fitters and the salt fish wraps, I also got a roti wrap to take home and it’s not bad, more salty than jerk flavoured. Besides the bland food, service was great - Tudor was an excellent waiter, very friendly and personable, gave good suggestions, not sure of the bartenders name but he’s absolutely incredible, he’s the reason we came back after the first time - incredible service, amazing drinks and just brings a good vibe to the place! Again, taking into account that this is Essex not London, I feel like Caribbean music would be more suitable than that funky DnB or electric music?

Quick service even though it was New Year’s Eve and they were really busy. Taylor was great and made sure we always had a drink!

The food and drinks was enough to make your dreams come true. Taylor was the genie in Aladdin, ask for it and your wishes came true!!! Made my new years and I will forever be in their debt for my eyes was opened and will be forever greatful for the experience of a life time.

Went today for dinner with my daughter Given it was not thay busy the food was coming out slow,but was worth the wait. Will our waiter was polite, friendly and very helpful and customer focused. Had a few cheeky cocktails on the buy one get one free.

Izzy and Lauren, wow where to start? Exceptional service, speedy, fast, efficient, and most of all personable. Two lovely women with an obvious future in this industry. Food was cooked to perfection, served piping hot, with the presentation of a skilled and artistic chef. Drinks- do I need to say more? The refreshing, sweet yet potent reggae rum punch was a personal favourite, with tangy notes of citrus and strawberry, complimented perfectly by the loud nature of Wray and Nephew. The remainder of my friends thoroughly enjoyed the burst of the Caribbean Candy Sour cocktail 🍹. Turtle Bay is the spot to go for families, couples, work-do’s and a general catch up for friends. Don’t think twice and book a table as soon as you can!

Had booked here for a bottomless brunch as a group of 3. From arrival, service was slow. We waited around a good few minutes waiting to be seen to. We visited on a Friday afternoon. It took a very long time to get drinks. Nearly every time we wanted a drink, we either had to join the queue at the bar (there were only one or two bar staff behind the bar, which is why there was always a queue). Or we had to stop waiters/waitresses as they were walking past, and even then, it took them ages to take our order and then deliver the drinks. The service was really poor and extremely slow. It wasn't busy, so there wasn't a reason for this. The poor service put a dampner on our bottomless brunch. We do not feel we got value for money for the price we paid. Therefore, we would not return here again. I do not recommend Turtle Bay for a bottomless brunch.

Great experience. Place was absolutely spotless, super clean and the staff were hot on keeping the place tidy. Drinks selection was vast and really good value for money. Food was good quality as well.

Food was ok, not much of it. Desert amounts very small and ice cream came in a tiny egg cup ,which was like a tablespoon. Staff was friendly. I don't eat much, but these dishes were tiny and not good value for money.
