Turpins Coffee Shop in East Riding of Yorkshire

Turpins Coffee House is an excellent place for lunch. We had a sandwich and cake, both were good. Other people were eating pies and jacket potatoes, all of which looked good too. A very clean cafe with good service.

Visited this cafe for brunch, Lovely welcome and a warm atmosphere , Excellent service, Went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Delicious home made food. Highly recommend.

Every time we visit always friendly staff, breakfasts are filling and cooked well, most all the cooked food is brilliant, love visiting Turpin when we pop to Beverly, best cafe around, can’t wait to go back,luckily we don’t live far away.

My husband and I have eaten here on many occasions and the various meals we have had have always been excellent (from the breakfasts to the many delicious lunches) - absolutely lovely. Very reasonably priced, always lovely and hot. Have sampled a couple of desserts too which have been excellent (homemade) and the scones are 'yummy' too. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly - very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much in these very difficult times.

Visited here today and the food has certainly gone down hill,since my last visit, l had chicken curry with rice, the rice was mixed in with the curry and was hardly visable. The portion was very small indeed for the money and l was starving when l left. Why wasn’t the rice put on a seperate dish, too expensive for a small meal.

Great fresh veggie breakfast for me and partner enjoyed his meat one at a reasonable price with excellent coffee included . Lovely little cafe , served by a smiley young man who was mega efficient and friendly . We will definitely be back .

we knew we could find a quaint little coffee shop in Beverley and sure enough, this is one of them. we had coffee and homemade cake but other people were enjoying lunch, they do gluten-free cake and meals too

We found this little gem on our first day of a 2 day stay in Beverley. We were met with a lovely warm welcome. We only had a toasties and hot drinks but it was delicious. So much so that we went back for lunch the following day. You really must visit Turpins. Everything about it is excellent.

Lovely cafe, nice tea pots, really fantastic vegetarian full english breakfast, good range on menu, wonderful friendly staff

Went looking for a quick meal before we headed out of Beverley and both were able to enjoy a sandwich with chips for a reasonable price. All had been freshly prepared and all social distancing and cleaning we observed was spot on, particularly as it’s a small space.

Small and friendly cafe. We only had a cappuccino and latte. Both very good. Straightforward menu. Food looked good and it was quite busy so it’s clearly popular. Prompt service. Very clean toilet.

I had eaten two thirds of my BLT, when I noticed the bottom slice of bread was covered in dark mould! Utterly disgusting knowing I'd been eating mould. I told the waiter who straight away took it away and apologised. I must say he did deal with the unfortunate situation well and was very apologetic, even though it wasn't his fault. It would have been much better if the chef had come out and apologised, as it was her responsibility to notice the bread that she served up to customers was mouldy. We were not charged for our lunch by way of an apology, and also given two free scones... I certainly won't be eating mine though, I'm still feeling churned up by it.Really disappointing and a very embarrassing situation, I won't be returning.

Friendly little tea room with plenty to offer and not expensive.the lady was really friendly.a few locals in whilst we were there which always means its good

Good range of things to eat/drink.Have visited many times before.Only had coffees and light bites this time,but as always nice homely food served with a smile. Quite busy when we called and they forgot bringing about our food although it was ready.No probs really but when we went to pay we were told the food was was on the house !!! We would have quite happily still paid,but this was a nice gesture,well worth mentioning.

Like this little cafe and feel comfortable here when on my own. Nice staff and good fresh food at reasonable prices. Lots of choice . Prefer this to the bigger cafes.

Have been to this little cafe several times now for lunch and snacks. Excellent value and pleasant, friendly service. Great choice of menu - look out for the specials boards. I had an excellent Eggs Benedict here yesterday. Also great homemade soups. Highly recomended for a quick lunch whilst shopping in Beverley.

We had lunch in here today , bacon omelette , salad and new potatoes for me and soup for my husband . Both were very enjoyable . The place was quite busy so we were prepared to wait a while but we didn't have to wait for long . A lovely pot of strong tea served by friendly welcoming staff completed a very enjoyable lunch

Stopped off for lunch .was very busy menus looked nice chose the full English which came with toast & coffee,ann had chilli con carnival on a jacket spud and a latte,lovely friendly staff,good service and good food.

Second time we have been here. Great pot of tea. Ordered burger and bacon bun with salad garnish. Had to wait a while, but food cooked fresh to order. Tasted good. Staff attentive.

The first thing that we noticed when we walked into this busy cafe was that at least 5 of the 9 tables were occupied by locals - the best recommendation anyone could wish for. Excellent, fresh food served with a smile at a decent price. Everything you could wish for. We'll definitely head for Turpins next time we're in Beverley.

We passed this little gem by accident one evening and I liked the look of it even when closed.We called in a couple of days later for a spot of lunch and were not disappointed.For a small cafe the menu was quite extensive and we were Spoilt for choice but settled on the all day breakfast which included a pot of tea.First class service and lovely food.

Visited today for lunch with a pal. I'm vegetarian and she is gluten free. We both really enjoyed the food. Very extensive menu even for veggies! So nice to have so much choice and my omelette was fluffy and delicious. Very clean and good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Will be returning!

Popped in today for a much anticipated cooked breakfast. What a horrible experience. My bacon was raw. I didn’t want to cause a big fuss, so I just left it. The rest was ok although the sausage wasn’t that well cooked either. When asked by the waitress if I didn’t like the bacon, I said no it’s raw. She didn’t even bat an eyelid. Just collected my plate and tea cup, and went back to the kitchen. No apology, which just rubbed salt into the wound. Went to pay, still nothing from the waitress or the “cook”. I won’t visit again, but if you decide to chance it, specify when you order how you want your ingredients cooked.

We had Coffee, tea and egg on toast. First class. We have been before and will go again. Staff are helpful and very polite.

Popped in for lunch and was so pleased that we did. The cafe was full when we arrived but didn’t have to wait long to be served. Friendly place and the young chap who served us could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We ordered a turkey and stuffing sandwich and a bacon and Brie panini - both were very good. We then spotted the offer of tea or coffee with jam and cream scones. Huge fresh scones which where served warm with plenty of jam and cream. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good and plentiful. Many thanks for a wonderful lunch - we will definitely visit again.

Really disappointed, ordered a simple cheese on toast and a tea cake it took 20 minutes to come out and they seemed to be serving the ‘regulars’ before us - and they had cooked breakfasts!

Four of us called in here for coffee during our day out in Beverley. Three of us had coffee and toasted tea cake. The coffee was strong and hot and the tea cake was large and fruity. Our friend had a cup of tea and scone with butter, jam and cream. She said that the scone was one of the best that she had ever tasted. It was large and fresh with plenty of fruit, and a generous portion of cream. The tea was in a decent size tea pot with extra water. The Staff were pleasant and the stories around the room were very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffee break.

Went for lunch with my daughter. Haven’t been here for years, fed up of going in the larger well known cafes. Had a scambled egg and bacon panini .wow, was huge. Delicious and managed to eat most of it. The panini it’s self was soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. Comes with crisps and salad . For me the only down side was the small cup of weak coffee. Didn’t know they made cups that small . Will Definitely go back as the food is lovely,pot of tea next time. Warm and friendly staff.

If you are wandering around Beverley and feeling peckish then Turpins Coffee Shop is worth a visit. We had looked at a few coffee shops while walking around the shopping area in Beverley but many of them are overpriced or cramped. Turpins Coffee Shop has a fairly basic menu in that there is nothing fancy on it but what you get is good well prepared food. The service is excellent and the pricing reasonable. The local pensioners seem to like it as there is a constant stream of them coming in for a late breakfast, morning coffee or lunch!

Visited with a work colleague as had a gap to fill before a meeting. Glad to stumble across this small cafe. The atmosphere was brilliant, very friendly and it was like how we remember cafes. I will have to return to sample the breakfast as it looked good when it came out but unfortunately we didn't have time to sample.

Called in last week for an all day breakfast, It was brilliant ! Well cooked, Quality ingredients and good value.

Visited here for the first time in a few years, and was pleased to find that it is still as good as I remember.

We love going to Dick Turpin on a Sunday morning for a Mega Breakfast followed by hot fresh coffee or a pot of tea or they do a good choice of herbal tea too.

My parents are regular customers at Turpins and I joined them today as I am up visiting. Fantastic little cafe....

Una acogedora cafetería con una cálida bienvenida. Fue genial para pedir algo de un menú y que se sirve con patatas cocidas o patatas fritas ofreciéndole una elección. La comida estaba muy bien de precio y nos gustó la manera en que el menor de los miembros de la familia se servía la comida primero. Pedimos agua caliente como el café era fuerte y fueron muy solícitos, trayendo una taza de agua caliente. El personal parecía amable y feliz durante toda nuestra visita.

Tenía el desayuno durante todo el día con una bebida por menos de £5 muy buena relación calidad-precio. Pidió agua caliente para rellenar el gran teteras que habíamos pedido entre 2 y fue muy rápidamente a nuestra mesa. Buzz sobre el lugar y eficiente personal. Limpio y agradable y un amplio menú para una pequeña cafetería. Vale la pena visitar si visita Beverley.

Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Small with only about 6 or 8 tables but nice atmosphere. The food is good, not exceptional, but decent value for your money. I've been on a few occasions and would easily recommend to anyone. My only negative comment would be that I'd prefer proper big fat chips with my dinner, as opposed to French fries but that's just my personal opinion.

Food good, service good. But when you go to pay, you are told there is a charge of 40p is you use a card. This should have been either on the menu or a notice prominently displayed in the shop, or told BEFORE ordering.To be honest, this is the sort of thing that can put a customer off. Is it worth losing a customer for 40p. Petty.Very disappointed and will give it a miss until the charge is dropped.One lost customer so far...........

We have been going to Turpins for breakfast for a number of years now. Always friendly with good service. Good basic food without the frills. Excellent!

I have visited this coffee shop twice recently, the food is good basic English snacks/meals cooked freshly on order, fairly priced. I don't eat cakes but if I did they looked delicious! The service is quick and efficent. On both times the staff were extremely pleasant and cheerful, it is a very enjoyable way to break the day on a visit to Beverley.

Went in here just off an off chance, and wow the service the food are both excellent defiantly going again

I always enjoy a decaf coffee and homemade scone at Turpins when shopping in Beverley. I have also had the home made quiche which was delicious.

On a busy day dropped in for lunch and had a cheeseburger and pot of tea. The tea was hot and strong and in contrast to other reviews the burger was well cooked and tasty. A good menu for a cafe of this size with friendly service.It appeared that a number of customers arriving after us were regulars which must be a sign of consistency. Gives what it says on the tin.

Found Turpins whilst at the Christmas Festival. Have broused the menu we chose off the special board and were not disapointed by our choice. Our meal came in no time, it was lovely and hot, freshly made and very enjoyable. Very plesant staff looked after us made us feel very welcome. Thank you

If all you want is a drink and some food then you won't go wrong for the price. Yes I have had a lot better but this is what is advertised on the tin I suppose and the staff are friendly enough. I had burger and chips but will try something else next time.

Having been recommended we thought we'd try it out......the home made food was good but the burgers were disgusting and only ound at a football ground. I wouldn't go again.

Go in about twice a month, not been disappointed yet. Food always good, service good and quick. Good quality ham used, not that supermarket rubbish.

A lovely little coffee shop just off the main street but well worth a visit. Cream teas a must, beautiful large warm scones, jam and oodles of cream and a big pot of tea to wash it down with.Will definitely call again.

We had seen this coffee shop before we decided to try a lunch there as it is on the route between the car parks and shops. It is surrounded by eateries of all descriptions but is seldom empty, in fact there are seldom many tables free! This day we saw a table right in the window waiting for us so we hopped on in.Each table has a history of the infamous Dick Turpin to keep your interest as you await your order. However, there is not enough time to read the lot - your order is ready to eat!My companion and I simply ordered colas, pots of tea and lunch. My regular tea was just like mine at home (Taylor's of course) and my companions was lemon and ginger. We both ordered from the spicy end of the menu - chilli and curry - both were exceptionally tasty although I felt that the chilli looked a touch drier than I would have liked; but my curry was the biz. The menu is simple but wide ranging and should suit most folk, even vegetarians, plus there is a snack section and a wide range of teas and coffees on offer.The bill came to less than £20 but a tip made it up to that.We will be taking lunch there again I can guarantee that, we will even happily wait for a table to come free!

My wife and I went to Beverley for the day and popped into Turpins. It is nice to get away from the multi nationals like Starbucks and give the trade to locally run places. We had a large pot of tea and my wife had Banoffee Pie. The menu was extensive and very reasonably priced.Very handy for shoppers as it is just around the corner from M & S!

Came upon this coffee shop by chance as its down a side street. We had a all day breakfast. It was lovely and reasonable priced. The place was lovely and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.

I come here regularly both for coffees, snacks and a midday meal. It's nothing fantastic but what they do provide is quality snacks at reasonable prices. It doesn't pretend to be what its not but if you want good food and value for money this is the place.

We took my Mum & 2 daughters aged 6 & 8 for tea & cake, the service was excellent, the staff were so kind to the girls! We had tea & scones which were huge and very light & very tasty! The girls had carrot cake & vanilla cake which they both said were Lush & they polished them off very quickly! Our waitress told us they are all homemade! We'll defiantly be going back & I'll recommend to my friends too!

You have to eat at this superb cafe , lots of choice quality food , great service they really do go that extra mile for their customers ! Very pleasant and polite , we are regular visitors and I could not recommend anywhere else to eat , it's top notch .

Just off the main pedestrian shopping street this traditional cafe is staffed by freindly and helpful ladies who do their best to make even tne shortest visit pleasent.Frothy coffee and packet biscuits were the order of the day, both fine.

I haven't been to Turpins Coffee Shop for a while but a friend and I agreed to meet there for lunch today. We were not disappointed, the food and coffee were excellent. Our order was taken by a very pleasant waitress and in no time at all we were served our meals. Perfectly cooked and piping hot. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Near the car park, first you see. No need to walk past looking for a better café as there isn't one. Beverley has a lot of competition.

whilst out shopping in Beverely stopped for coffee and was very impressed with this little cafe. Its only small but seemed quite popular :Had coffee and cake which was a reasonable price. The staff where very pleasant and efficient. Would definitely go again. Ideal place to give your feet a rest whilst shopping.

Had one of their special hot chocolates and some carrot cake which was absolutely lovely. It is a nice place to come and have a drink or a bite to eat

Called in for the 1st time on Saturday, quite busy but lovely staff and a terrific, carried and very reasonable priced menu.Quite small, but terrific value for money. Can't see any one being disappointed in this great little cafe.

We stopped here for a coffee and bacon sandwich on a Sunday and can only say that we thought it was great. The sandwich was plentiful in bacon and the coffee was good and hot.The waitress was friendly and welcoming and we shall certainly go back.

Overall, I thought Turpin’s was OK. The food was unexceptional, but what can you do with a full English breakfast? It was the same as in many other places. The dining area is fine, with real wooden tables and chairs, no plastic or formica. There’s plenty of parking nearby, it’s close to M&S, but a bit of a hike to the Saturday market.
