We didn't actually get to eat there. We wanted lunch on Monday 4 March. A sign on their door and listing on Google says it opens at 12.30pm. I wanted to make sure ir would be open, so phoned on Sunday evening and was told that it would be open at 2pm, or possibly 1.30pm. So the next day we walked into town, had a drink and then went there at about 2.20pm. Guess what? CLOSED. A total waste of our time and big disappointment. Rest assured, we will not now be going. But we've booked at the excellent Mangal in Syston that has delicious food at a much lower price than Turk Nazz.

So the good stuff - the food is pretty good. There were 7 of us for dinner and we ordered a different selection of starters and main courses. All pretty good. I had falafel starter and mixed kebab (shish lamb, shish chicken and adana kebab) and all quite tasty (4 out of 5 seems about right). Side salads a bit sad (a bit more effort required), but looking around the table a good variety of rice, couscous, humus, babaganoush, chilli relish, olives, bread, lamb chops, lamb shish wrap, turkish sausages, numerous kebabs and everyone enjoyed the food (and drink). The not so good - the owners need to hire more staff. The waiter that served us was great but he was running around all evening. Drinks, running back and forth to the kitchen and being attentive to all tables (as well as serving take away orders). It was all a bit chaotic. So I would say 3 out of 5 for service - and that's not because the poor lad wasn't good. He was great. It was a Saturday evening and busy so the owners need at least another 2 people serving and I am sure everyone on all tables would have had a better experience. 4 out of 5 seems maybe a little generous but we all enjoyed the food and 3 out of 5 seems a little mean.

We went on a Monday night at 9PM as we had been at a social meeting close by. At first I thought it was closed as it was completely empty, but the sign said open and there was a teenage boy at reception (who later served as our waiter). He suggested a dish for us, and after 25 minutes a starter arrived (which we did not order). I realised later that this was because the meal (for two) was over 45 minutes arriving! The lamb meat was very dry and overcooked, the chicken was a little better. The quantity was very large, more for four than the two of us especially since we said we were only moderately hungry. The price was quite high, which would not have been so bad if the meal was not late and partially burnt!

Popped in on a whim as needed a meal after going to the pictures. Glad we did as the food and service was lovely. The wine was pricey but they let me try it first and it was very good, too. The starters of Turkish pizza and filo pastry filled with cheese were delicious and with complimentary bread (warm and fresh),and dips, almost filled us up! The chicken shish main was succulent and plentiful but the star of the show was the lamb in the wrap which was fantastic. Tasty and well cooked. Chips and rice were also good so no room for pud. unfortunately. Next time!

We thought we would give the new restaurant in town a visit for our daughters birthday. Drinks menu on the table features cocktails but when we tried to order one they didn’t have the ingredients in stock. Tried to order several other drinks only to be told they weren’t in stock. The starters came out quite quickly and the quality of the food was good - although pricy. Then came the long wait for the main - he hours later and past caring about eating any more food they finally arrived. Quality of the food was good but had it not been for our daughter’s birthday we would have left. The restaurant was only a third full and this close to Xmas I can’t believe they thought this was acceptable. They had even called the night before to check we were going so they should have been much better. It killed the night for us with such a long wait. They did give us a drink on the house but I’m sorry it was too little too late.

I felt it was quite an awkward place. You have to book in advance for afternoon tea when in reality it was dry, cheap bread with probably aldi ham in the middle and dry cakes. Upon arrival the owner was leaning over the counter playing on her phone. No customer service. Once the food was placed in front of us I noticed that a hair was in one of the scones. She then replaced it with a small shop bought one. The other scone was very hard and dry. The cups were dirty and we had no spoons. The milk was a little off as if it had been sat on the table all day. Overall not a great experience. I think the whole afternoon tea was chucked together onto a cake stand, put on top of sticky tables, costing a couple of quid but charging people so much more. The whole experience was very awkward and it didn't feel very welcoming in there at all which is sad because it's not the service you would expect from a small local coffee shop. Costa provides a better experience!

They have stopped serving in person, you can only order from an interface. I cannot see to operate, once when I asked they did help, but the last 3 times when I ask for help they say they are too busy… so I have stopped trying now…
