Easily the best fish and chips in Tunbridge Wells and the owner is always lovely.

Fish was over 7 pounds and it was absolutely tiny. It was disgusting, soft and slimey and the batter was rubbery and fell straight off. Worst I’ve had in town.

The food when it finally arrived nearly two hours later was uneatable which if it arrived on time would have been okay

This place is awful and I can tell you now The fish is meant to be Cod and it was not what I ordered. The cod is a sloshy and horrible if you can call it that. The chips tasted overcooked in old oil. I used to work in a fish and chip shop I can tell you now this is not a proper fish and chip shop. I should of gone with St John's fish bar.

Ordered delivery online but came missing 1 meal , upon phoning the shop they already knew of there mistake and the meal was sent out promptly with many apologies and a curtesy pudding 🍮 excellent food ,great customer service. Will definitely order from there again .

Ordered fish and chips. Delivery was on time and it came hot. Upon opening it - the fish was dripping oil. The chips, although not dripping oil was very oily. Both fish and chips looked and tasted like it was cooked in old oil with a slight pork sausage taste. The batter was so thick and oily but when you peeled it off you could get a decent amount of fish. Never again!

Went in this shop on Wednesday, the 27th July ask for my food he said a few minutes for the chips a minute later he served me up the little crispy fried up bits of chips You get when they’re not busy absolute conman won’t be having my business anymore. I’m really disappointed I didn’t take a picture of this. I hate people that give 0 it all the chat and pretend to be friendly then they rip you off. Possibly the worst chip shop in the universe.And any other universes that are out there. And he said he's the best in Tunbridge Wells. Joke.

I live just down the road, and love Camden Road for it's incredible diversity. But, this is the best, of the best. Just come and try for yourself, the taste is exceptional! Thank you.

First time ordering from here, saw all of the good reviews so was excited to try. However, it wasn't that great. Unfortunately when it got here it wasnt really hot and majority of my chips are hard so can't really eat them !

Not that many traditional Fish & chip shops in the Tunbridge Wells area, but this is a very good place where you are guaranteed a perfectly cooked meal. Great welcome every time I visit, prompt service, Fish and chips both cooked to perfection! In clean/fresh oil... genuine kind & generous manager!

Just moved here. Friendly service, busy on a Friday which is only a good sign. Honestly one of the best fish and chips i’ve had, not just in town. Obviously takes great care and makes it all fresh, doesn’t just leave it under a heat lamp. Will be coming back and saved it as our local

Best Fish&Chips in Town and lovely Staff

Fish was very nice. Calamari was average. Didn't order chips as the picture on Uber Eats showed Calamari was served with chips, however when I received my order there were no chips. Might be a good idea to update the picture on Uber Eats in order to avoid confusion.

Best fish and chips in town. The owner's lovely and always gives a friendly greeting when you walk in. He also does gluten free batter (in a separate fryer - very important!), so you can have any fish on the menu freshly fried and be sure it's safe for someone with coeliac disease. The owner even did me some gluten free onion rings - the first ones I've had in over 20 years! Absolute joy. This place is my weekly treat now - always try to call in on a walk back from the park at the weekend. Love it.

We go here regularly when my dad fancies fish and chips and the service is always top notch. The gentleman who owns it is incredibly friendly, kind and genuinely cares about his restaurant and customers. My dad loves the food and quality here. Definitely recommend!!

Tuff one to review, service I couldn't fault but the chips I didn't think we the best quality, very greasy and soggy but passable. Doubt I would go back!

No atmosphere as I was only customer collecting my order the food is very good and on par with other fish and chip shops with prices I was a bit disappointed that 2 of the meals I ordered could have included a drink but as I did not say drink he did not give them or even offer

The food has always been very good but its service is poor, which is why I am giving only two stars in the hope it might address these failings. Last week I ordered three fish chips for a party over the web site. The web site said it was open and to call if there were any problems. So I ordered, my credit card was charged £28.60 but the restaurant didn't confirm and the phone rang without answer. As they took my money I had to assume it had worked so I went to pick up my food. It was closed with a notice saying it had been closed for over a week! They should have disabled the website and put a message on the phone to say they were closed. I've since learned on nextdoor that several other customers have been caught like this paying for food they never got. I've had to get a refund through my credit card provider. I hope they fix this issue which is not difficult to solve. Just pay your IT admin to disable the order function when you are away! Or if you're not going to bother to maintain it properly don't have a website!

Best chippy in town try the burgers/cheeseburger they use proper cheese! Service is extra friendly, and always served with a smile.

Visited twice now and both times the chips have been soggy, clearly left out for a while and overcooked. Shame really as the owner is nice and the prices are fair. I won't be returning.

Best fish and chips I've had in long time. My local fish shop has competition. Amazing chips crispy outside and soft inside. Not soggy 😁 Fish a little on small size but very nice. Very tasty highly recommended.

Didn’t order many items but half my order (Childs meal) was missing, however they sent it later but by then it was a bit too late.

Ordered on Friday 17.February @ around 2:20 pm ,arrived around 2:40 .Not bad. Small cod & small chips 🍟.My first meal after early morning breakfast 🍳 5:30 am. Then a have nothing till 10 pm 🕙 ,then I went to the bathroom.Didn’t sleep well,heavy stomach.Then early in the Saturday morning I have vomited twice,guess what,a fish 🐠 & chips 🍟 on the menu.Then really bad discomfort and diarrhoea all weekend. Weak and exhausted 😴,broke all my weekend plans . Haven’t eaten nothing just dehydrated a small amount of water and tea. Even on Monday I felt not fully recovered. Never again. Really bad and dangerous.

Great service tonight, have gluten free needs and person called to say the vinegar will contain gluten etc. on top of that great service the food was amazing.

The BEST fish and chips in the area! Perfectly cooked, top quality and reasonably priced. Plus the owner is a trained chef and all round lovely guy. 100% recommend.

Very nice fish and chips, arrived hot, on time and had no grease at all. The only criticism was that the large fish was the same size as the small and we ordered gherkins got charged for them but didn't receive them. Will still order as its important to keep old traditions alive and support local businesses. (Just don't forget my gherkins next time please 😁)

Definatley one of, if not the best fish and chip shops within the area. Always friendly and happy to help staff who no matter how busy always work with a smile on their faces. Needless to say i wont be going anywhere else for fish, burgers or chips and dont forget the two pickled onions.

This country has lost a number of things we can call culture, but dagnamit if Fish 'n Chips isn't one of them!! I'm 45 years old & have sampled our nation's institutional meal at dozens of licenced proprietors up & down the country. Imagine then my surprise & praise to the heavens upon discovering that THE BEST FISH & CHIPS I HAVE EVER HAD is right here in the town that I moved to!! The Chips are PERFECT. The Fish portions are VERY generous & the special SALT used & melted into the fish after cooking .....just.....WOOOOOW. Friendly owner, staff & a very clean environment all add up to TOP score! I'd give them 6 out of 5 if I could!!!! Don't think about it, just go there & see for yourselves xx

Best chips around. And they do gluten free cod which is great as my partner is gluten intolerant. The saveloys were lovely as were the battered sausages. The guy who runs it is ever so friendly and polite.

Best fish and chips I've had and customer service was brilliant.

This is the best place for takeaway food in Tunbridge Wells. Regularly pop in for a burger and fries. Last night decided to order for home delivery via their website. Tried the calamari, garlic mushrooms, cheesy chips and of course a burger. All delivered within 30 minutes and all delicious. Fantastic range of foods and always superb customer service.

Well I seem to have a lot of good reviews so I don't know what happened to my order I don't ordinarily leave reviews but this was so bad I probably wouldn't even give to my dog the fish was swimming in Grease and I dare say it wasn't cod.

I bought for the first time fish and chips from this shop. I'm was very disappointed with the quality of fish and chips and sausage. The fish and sausage were old and over cooked they were hard so was the chip all were also soggy Not buying from here anymore. I will stick with St John's fish and chips.
