Our waitress Kirsty was friendly and helpful. She gave us the right amount of attention without being pushy or intrusive.

Unfortunately the hotel that I had Booker lost my reservation it found but no more rooms available so I had to go to Tulse Hill Hotel much further than expected the rooms are large but the cleanliness left one disappointed with my stay compared to that.

Great Sunday roasts. Channel was really helpful and understanding. Will be back next week

He probado su comida de vez en cuando durante unos años. Realmente es un lugar Hit & Miss. Sospecho que puede tener una alta rotación de personal. Hoy he tenido un curry tailandés sencillo con langostinos reales y pez monje. La gente por favor tenga cuidado con este lugar, parecen juntar un menú atractivo, pero no tienen ni idea de lograrlo. Cuando llegó mi cena me desinflaron al instante, ya que la porción no era una cena, era un buen entrante. El arroz estaba empapado y demasiado cocido ( 4 cucharadas de arroz ) , Los langostinos eran pequeños pero bien Pero lejos de los langostinos reales , , PERO El pez monje era casi como lentejas , , Sin sabor, desintegrado y muy cocido. No había sabores en esta salsa de curry de nada con lo que se cocinara. El arroz estaba empapado y demasiado cocido y una porción tan pequeña. Los 3 pequeños trozos de lo que llamaban pez monje eran como pasta que estaba tan sobrecocinada. Tuve que quejarme de que todavía tengo hambre, , a lo que me ofrecieron algunas patatas fritas, , , , , acepté simplemente porque todavía estaba hambriento, , ,

We ate at the pub of this hotel. Nice food and good vibes but they were not transparant about the 12,5% service charge. We disagree with this charge and it was not clearly announced so we did not expect it. Other than that they asked us at the start: ‘would you like some olives and bread’. We said yes to this expecting it was offered to us for free. We ultimately ended up having to pay for two different sides (olives side + bread). Again not a transparant way of conducting business. For this reason, despite the good food, I have to rate the pub 1 star out of 5.

I personally found this place to be overpriced, with mediocre service overall. Some of the drinks prices in the menu are not up to date, which isn’t helpful. The side for my main course came out cold and had to be sent back. When I say cold, it was stone cold in the middle. When it came back, the rest of the meal had gone cold. Small portion sizes for what you pay, particularly the soup starter. Overall, not an enjoyable or worthwhile experience. Perhaps it was an off day, judging by the other reviews. Unfortunately, a first impression is a lasting impression.

We booked a buffet lunch for my daughter's 30th birthday party yesterday and were delighted with the lovely space we were given - the tables were thoughtfully laid out to allow us to mingle, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and completely attentive throughout. The food was delicious - we ordered a mixture of boards, and everyone commented on how tasty it all was. We progressed later on to the bar which had a vibrant lively vibe - my daughter really enjoyed her special day, and the event was extremely good value. We would definitely recommend this as a party venue, and judging by the quality of the food, as a great place to eat out. Many thanks to the Tulse Hill Hotel staff for your hospitality !

A xmas disaster! We booked for Xmas lunch/dinner. Arrived at 2.15, received our starters at 3.15, they were good. Then, our mains, there were three of us, arrived at different times during the next hour and a half. One of these, children's Xmas turkey lunch was inedible. Organisation or direction amongst the staff was not apparent. The kitchen wasn't well manned. I witnessed several parties leave before their mains demanding a refund. It really was a complete shambles; the friendly waiting staff were embarrassed and probably as or nearly as, frustrated as the 'diners'. The atmosphere was one of slight anger and incredulity. We regret wasting our Xmas day at the Tulse Hill Hotel. I'm surprised there aren't many negative reviews on here concerning this disaster of a Xmas day. Noone was happy. By the end, when I finally got my turkey the place was empty and I'd loss the will, appetite and any Xmas cheer. Pretty appalling all round.

I'd give less if I could. On a Friday night we were told that they couldn't accommodate as the kitchen was closing. AT 8PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT.

Fuimos a un almuerzo familiar el domingo 15 de diciembre de 2024 , la comida estaba bien, pero el servicio de una de las mujeres de turno era terrible, había 2 mujeres de turno por lo que sabíamos, la señora rubia era amable y agradable, pero la mujer de cabello oscuro era grosera y odiosa, en un momento se acercó a nuestra mesa para decirnos que debíamos otros 50 peniques, (habíamos pedido nuestra comida y ya lo pagamos en el bar) le ofrecimos los 50 peniques en efectivo, ya que era una cantidad tan pequeña, pero ella dijo que no, tenía que ser una tarjeta de crédito, eso estaba bien y no era un problema para nosotros, entonces como uno de nuestra parte estaba sacando su billetera para obtener su tarjeta de crédito, luego marchó a la caja para llevar a cabo la transacción de 50 peniques, luego gritó a nuestra mesa que no podía ser efectivo, tenía que ser una tarjeta de crédito. En este momento ni siquiera habíamos tenido nada de la comida que habíamos pedido, así que apenas estábamos a la ligera para hacer un “corredor” por 50 p.m., ya que ya habíamos pagado £ 112 por la comida aún por servir. Esta persona o bien necesita formación de personal en atención al cliente o bien necesita trabajar en un área donde no necesita estar en contacto con el público ya que la impresión que da es que somos una molestia y un inconveniente para ella. Nos dimos cuenta de que no éramos los únicos a los que ella era grosera y directa.

Outstanding service from the team. Arrived for a Sunday roast with family for a birthday - service was super efficient and quick and any items that had sold out were made apparent from the offset with alternatives available. Jasmine was especially amazing at looking after us, considering we were such a big group! Drinks arrived swiftly and the mains all came out together - which can be rare these days with a busy kitchen. Jasmine made sure we were updated with when our food was arriving and kept us stocked up with drinks in the meantime - the rhubarb gin fizz was my favourite.. The pork roast was amazing, so tender & the crackling was sooo crackly! Overall great experience and service from Jasmine and the rest of the team.

Reservé una estancia para mí y mi novio para el próximo año para un concierto, necesitaba mejorar mi habitación para un amigo para que también se una a nosotros, que Vanessa amablemente hizo por mí. Unas semanas más tarde desafortunadamente tuvimos que cancelar nuestro viaje debido a circunstancias imprevistas, tenía una estancia no reembolsable reservada y después de hablar con Vanessa de nuevo, ella tan amablemente me reembolsó sin obligación de hacerlo. La mejor experiencia que he tenido con un hotel y ni siquiera pude ir! Definitivamente voy a estar buscando para alojarse con ellos la próxima vez que vaya a Londres. ¡Gracias!

Stayed one night at Tulse Hill Hotel. We were greeted by Kaneeka (apologies if I’ve spelled her name incorrectly) she was so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bar and restaurant which we made use of, had the melted Camembert to start and the chicken Kiev, both were excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and nicely decorated. Had a full English breakfast the morning we checked out and were again greeted by Kaneeka. Would definitely stay here again if the need arose 👍

One of our local pubs… decided to visit for breakfast / brunch over the weekend which I believe was previously only available to hotel guests. Yeah - it was alright - can’t say I’d rush back. I had the smashed avo on toast w poached eggs. My wife had the veggie breakfast. Table service seemed to be available to hotel guests but not to us which felt a bit strange. Underwhelming.

Two items on the menu were not available, specials board out of date and they had run out of leeks .. how can you run out of leaks in london

Booked for Sunday Lunch. Pub was very understaffed. On arrival we stood for ages and no staff acknowledged us. Eventually showed us to a table too small for our booking. After this was sorted out by moving us into the pub side we waited a long time to place orders/ be served. . Food was fine when it eventually came. Very disappointed.

This is a lovely spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, stylish decor, and a great selection of food and drinks. The staff were friendly, and the ambience had a charming, relaxed vibe. However, my visit was affected by the number of dogs inside, which was problematic due to my allergies. While I appreciate that many people enjoy the dogfriendly aspect, it would be great if there were designated areas for guests with allergies or those who prefer a pet free environment. It's a nice place overall, but it's worth keeping in mind if you have similar sensitivities.

Lovely breakfast here. Staff were very helpful and although we had a bit of a wait for our food they looked after us. Breakfast was delicious as always. We'll be back!

Lovely food, the venue is nice and spacious and we were served efficiently in a friendly manner. The only fault I can find is that there was only one person working the floor and bar, it wasn’t particularly busy but she is clearly pregnant, but thank you for your service Georgia, we will be returning x

🚇 Tulse Hill 🍺 £6.80 Roadie IPA The Tulse Hill Hotel is located at the southern end of Tulse Hill nestled between Brixton, Herne Hill and Dulwich in South London. The nearest station is Tulse Hill mainline, it’s a three minute walk to get here. The Tulse Hill Tavern was established in 1840. In 2014, the pub was renamed the "Tulse Hill Hotel" and was extensively renovated and now operates as a pub, restaurant and hotel. As you enter, you arrive into the main bar area which is traditionally decorated. The servery is located at the back right corner and has a fish tank situated on the right. The seating is a mix of poser tables and low level seating in a lounge area complete with wood panelling and a fireplace. Behind the main bar is a smart dining area with an open kitchen and formally set tables. At the rear of the pub is a large paved sheltered beer garden, there are also benches at the front. The beer selection is solid and included bonafide continental brews, cask ale and beers from local London breweries. I decided on a Roadie IPA from E17 brewers @signaturebrew , my pint hit the spot, price point was high. The food menu consists of Pub Classics and Mediterranean dishes, Fish & Chips cost £18, Roasts are available on a Sunday. I arrived around 6.30pm on a warm Saturday evening in September. The main bar had a few punters in attendance, the majority of people were sat on the benches out front and relaxing in the rear beer garden. I spoke with a couple regulars who have drank in here for 25 years. They were telling me how rough this pub used to be before the steady gentrification of the area. I also spoke with the Guv’nor who was such a nice fella, he was telling me about how he has improved the beer offering and how good his Guinness is, so I had to have a sample. @tulsehillhotel is a cracking locals pub that welcomes both long standing regulars and new inhabitants to the area. A broad beer selection, decent grub, fantastic service and a lovely local atmosphere in a traditional pub environment made for an excellent pub experience. We came here for Sunday lunch with some friends who suggested it as they live close by. Unfortunately the restaurant were two chef down but we were only told about this after we had ordered. The two women who served us seemed unbothered and although one did apologise she didn’t seem to mind that we waited over 45 minutes for our food. We weren’t offered anything but I can appreciate that they may have been overwhelmed. My fish and chips didn’t come with the curry sauce and the waitress didn’t acknowledge this, only after I asked her she said it’s run out. I found my meal to be very mediocre- there was more batter than fish and the mushy peas were cold. This might have just been a bad day for them but I wasn’t impressed with the customer service or food. I probably won’t be rushing to return unfortunately.

Here for a fantastic dinner with our lovely server — did not get her name unfortunately but she was a blond woman on Friday 20 September. We’ll definitely be back!

Great Sunday roast, but also plenty of other options for those that prefer typical pub grub. Our little one loved the fish fingers and chips! Amy was fantastic, her service was impeccable and she made the meal more enjoyable for everyone!

Excellent food, service good but few serving staff the day we were there, although the staff were very friendly and amenable to food options. Allergy listing of menu items invaluable. Parking very useful and free to users of the restaurant but registering your vehicle reg is a must. Would definitely go there again.

My family from the US stayed here for 2 weeks whilst visiting my husband and I. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, moving my parents to another room when their initial room needed a repair. All the food is delicious, we enjoyed everything we ordered, often in the lovely garden in the back. Special shout-out to Georgia, who does the breakfast service single-handed, with great cheer and patience- she went above and beyond, even acting as a witness for me and my husband for a last urgent document to close on our flat purchase!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Tulse Hill Tavern, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the roast featuring a porchetta that surpassed all expectations. Every single component of the meal was executed to perfection. The roast potatoes were nothing short of extraordinary – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to absolute perfection. They were, without a doubt, the best roast potatoes I’ve ever had. The gravy was a delight, rich and flavorful, complementing the porchetta beautifully. Speaking of the porchetta, it was the star of the show. The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with savory goodness. But the crackling? Oh, the crackling was divine – incredibly crunchy and packed with flavor. Each bite was a symphony of textures and tastes that left me craving more. I can honestly say that this meal was a culinary masterpiece. If you’re looking for an outstanding roast, look no further than the Tulse Hill Tavern. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to indulge in this exquisite dish again. Highly recommended!

Really cute hotel rooms above a pub. Super nice staff and great breakfast. If you are super sensitive about traffic noise then bring noise canceling headphones :)

Really lovely local pub, delicious food great selection of beers and cocktails. The lady who served us was lovely and really helpful.

We had some problems after check-in (broken shower and air conditioning not working) but the friendly staff provided us with another room, we also received a meal as compensation which was greatly appreciated. We had a pleasant staff member every day. The Tulse Hill Hotel is very rustic and you feel like you have gone back in time. The location is less beautiful, but on the terrace outside you don't see anything of that at all. It is also close to the bus and train station, which provides a good connection to the center. The beds were very comfortable. And I haven't even mentioned the food yet. The food was very tasty, the vegetarian beef wellington on Sunday was one of the best vegetarian meals I had ever eaten. The burgers (both meat and veggie) were also great! Very nice that you can also enjoy some Belgian beers.

Kirsty looked after my mum and I very well, we had a lovely meal and will definitely come again. Decaf coffee options after the meal would be the only improvement.

We went to this pub on Saturday at about 4pm and was shocked that there was no customers in this place, I went to the bar and ordered the chicken club sandwich which was £10.50 there was 3 tiny pieces of dry chicken in the sandwich not even proper chicken breast, then I ordered a coke and asked how much for a pint the bar man said £5 I can now see why there isn't any body going in this pub.

Gorgeous food and excellent service from Kirsty who was friendly, attentive and efficient. The best Irish coffee this side of the Irish Sea from Anastasia. We will definitely be back.

Had the most amazing stay here- it was absolutely faultless. The staff went above and beyond. The food was incredible! The rooms were quite homely and the bed was very comfortable, the shower was also amazing! Looking forward to another stay! Thank you once again to the staff for making our stay absolutely amazing would highly recommend this awesome hotel.

Room standard v poor. Felt unclean and in need of a refurbishment. Dinner was pricey and portions were small. Salad had no dressing and waiter said there was no olive oil.

The Tulse Hill Hotel has recently become my local pub! Super family friendly, great beer garden partially with shade for those who don’t do so well in the sun and great music! Jasmine in particular stands out to me and my group of friends! She’s brilliant, quick and understanding! We will continue to choose the THH over other local pubs.
