Love this place been going 18yrs which says alot. Friendly staff beautiful tasting dishes , not found anything in the area to compare or that comes close .

Never disappointed with the food at this place and staff are brilliant.... however prices have gone up substantially, still worth a visit

Really nice food, lots of different dishes all full of flavour. Reasonably expensive but not over priced. Portions a good size, did a half size dish for children and was more than half a dish and less than half price! Staff were very friendly and looked after us really well. Would definitely recommend.

Hands Down best place to pick up cheap slaves and pay them in rice. Will miss it.

Awful! Food is crazily overpriced, we paid £50 for two curries and a few of side dishes. The food was ordered as a birthday treat, it was over an hour wait for collection, waited in the reception for over 30 mins for the gentleman behind the desk to continue to tell me 5 minutes every time I questioned where the food was. I drove 15 mins to pick this up, I wish I had just ordered somewhere local now. The food quality was below average and incredibly oily, both the meats in the curry was extremely sparse and well overcooked. When I explained that it was a birthday treat and we were extremely disappointed at how long we'd been waiting the response was "I've put in 2 extra poppadoms for you" absolute joke! Would thoroughly recommend to NOT order from here.

Beautiful food and friendly staff, one of our favourite restaurants

This was one of the best Indian meals we have had. Guy in the phone was really pleasant. Delivery a little late but driver was very nice and the meal was very good. I had a byriani and the chicken was divine. Arrived hot and we all really enjoyed it.

Only recently found out how good the food is at this place and have been using it since. The Akbar Special Biriani is one of the nicest things I have ever tasted. Would highly recommend.

I will return. Covid measures were good. Food was great really tasty. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were different and tasty. rice and naans were good. liked the little bits of chilli if you want it spicier or pick them out for a milder experience without any loss in taste.

Great local Curry, you are getting 10% off during a takeaway. Visited a few times with friends. Lovely stuff and great choice of food.

Don't know what's gone wrong with the place, telephoned takeaway order at 6.30, told to collect at 7.30. Arrived on time but didn't get order until 8.20 and it was wrong. Plenty of other people in there complaining about time taken. Order at least one table was wrong as well from what I saw. Food was very good though as usual

We had lamb after dark and lamb Korma with coconut & mushroom rice + chips. It all tasted amazing. We had to do takeaway with current situation but thank goodness they are still open. Best curry around :)

Food was great as usual however the wait of nearly an hour for a table when we'd booked was not. Might be worth giving those on earlier tables a time limit so it doesn't affect those booked later

The most amazing food and service ! I had a takeaway and noticed a slight mistake when I returned home . When I called them, they apologised and gave me my next order free! not only that but they were sencerely very sorry for the mistake . They even gave us a free bottle of wine . In my opinion the best Indian restaurant for food and service in the UK.

This was our first visit here, in comparison with others so called Indian cusines, which we have been visiting ... This one is by far the best of them for 40 miles radius... Good atmosphere, great veraiety of foods, the foods we had were superbs, good and down to earth selection of wines and beer... Great and friendly customer service, and reasonably priced.... Their location is a bit awkward but it is worth the trip... We will be back with more friends and family members...

The food was very well served and tasted delicious. Good service staff very attentive.

Acceptable curry, great service. The staff made our dishes as asked for with no problem. It was just a bit bland and old school. If that's what you like it's a great eating out experience, otherwise just call a curry in.

Wow, a little gem on the A66, just outside Darlington. Excellent food, friendly service and decor sophisticated but comfortable. Pull in at the service station to access this wonderful restaurant. The lamb sambuca is presented in flames and delicious. I wish they did traditional Indian desserts like rasmali and that would be my heaven nade.

First time going tonight. Had a wonderful aroma the moment you step through the door. The staff are friendly. The food was beautiful. I ordered the chicken makani. I never knew cheese would go so well on a curry. For a motorway restaurant, its a decent place. Will be back for more

We love going to Akbar Dynasty as a treat. The food is consistently excellent. Service is always friendly and attentive. As a rule, you won't have to wait long to be served, but at busy times it can be a longish evening. Don't let that put you off from this terrific Indian restaurant. The food is great and reasonably priced.

Always enjoy a meal at the Akbar Dynasty. The atmosphere is very nice and although it's just off the A66 it's often busy at weekends so we book ahead to be sure of getting a table. The food is lovely, the menu has the well known dishes you'd expect but with a large range of their own dishes (at least I think their own) and they are really gorgeous. I've not tried too many but the ones I've had have been delicious. Also a good range of vegetable side dishes and vegetarian options . Staff are very professional and friendly . The only thing is the car parking can get very busy especially as they have two sittings so if the people from the 1st sitting haven't finished and the people for the 2nd turn up it can be hard to get parked.

We went yesterday teatime. We have had a take out before however dining in this time. Food was beautiful, service was perfect. The staff are lovely and friendly. Best India around in my opinion.

Visited whilst in area for business. Staff were very friendly and the Restaurant is clean and tidy. Food was great, no issues there at all. 3 stars as service was awfully slow. I was on my own and I was in there for over 2 hours...Otherwise, nice food, friendly staff and vibrant surroundings.
