Had the crushed avocado myself (which was incredible) and my partner (coeliac) had a gluten free full English. Both absolutely satisfied and I cannot praise Breeze enough for being so helpful and accommodating with the gluten allergy! Will absolutely be visiting again - even if just for the rhubarb lemonade 😋

I have walked by this place countless times and ate here (finally) the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the restaurant although small felt like a very nice place to be. A true gem in an otherwise grey place

Great choice of food and drinks available. All the staff are friendly and accommodate each persons special requests regarding the food. I can't fault their Smashed avocado on sourdough with poached egg. It's definitely the best around. The only issue I have found is that sometimes it can be so busy, and you can't get a table. It's definitely worth a visit, and I think you will go back again and again just like us.😁👍

Meet with friends for coffee. I decided to have sausage sandwich which unfortunately was a mistake served in sourdough which I have no problem with but cut so thickly & toasted a no for me. Drinks great & service first class.

oh dear ,, been many times before and always highly satisfied ,, eggs royale to die for ,, today i chose :reluctantly : because of the price !! £11.50 for a smoked salmon / cheese bagel with pink onions ,, it was dreadful ,( leave the onions out ), a few leaves of salad with it ,, so so dissapointing. that with a coke was £15 !! VERY overpriced

Fantastic, friendly, relaxed little restaurant with character and charm. Great choice of breakfast, brunch and lunch. Five of us had breakfasts which came to £80 including drinks (incl 2 beers for my brother who had just finished night shift so that's ok 🤣). Three of us are veggie and the food is clearly marked as veggie friendly where applicable. The Wandering Duck was only a five minute wander from our apartment which was great. This delightful restaurant was recommended to us and we will be delighted to recommend it to you. ❤️

Visited last week for a late breakfast with my friend. The food was really lovely. Staff were really polite and friendly. The place looked clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Hmm. Our first exchange with staff was to be told they were closing at 3.30 and were only serving drinks and snacks(it was 2.45). Not the warmest of welcomes. The coffee and cakes were very nice and the price ok. The family on the table next to us were having a heated argument and two of them walked out 🙄. Every other customer that walked in got the same warm welcome ( we are closing in .....). About 15.15 they brought the bill to us and asked us to pay. We left at 15.25. No tip was given.

Today was my first visit after hearing many good things. Decided to go for the May brunch special, Turkish Eggs, poached eggs on garlic and lemon yoghurt with chilli and oil served with toasted sour dough bread. Yes, it sounds a bit bizarre but was absolutely delicious. I am very much hoping to find an excuse to go again very soon. The service was spot on and the prices are very reasonable for the high quality food served.

First time we've been here and will definitely be back! A really lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. It's great that the breakfast/brunch/lunch menus overlap, we didn't know what to choose. But all the food was delicious.

Had lunch here, everything came hot and lots to eat. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere . One of our meals was forgotten so came after the others, but handled professionally and reflected in the bill. Definitely recommend.

Very good food and service, the full English breakfast is a must. This occasion was made even more special by sitting on the next table to Anton and Giovanni from Strictly. What a visit!

A lovely impromptu lunch, we hadn't reserved just walked in and luckily there was a table for 2. I had the open bacon and brie sandwich, and my friend had the eggs benedict. Was bloomin delicious 😋

Will not be returning. Over priced and miserable service. Was immediately told on entering if I wanted food I had 2 mins to decide as they stop serving at 2pm despite sign clearly stating 2:30pm. Then heard them take an order 20 minutes later and also say to others they serve until 2:30pm. Pulled beef sandwich was dry and sour dough burnt. Served coke with a dirty glass. Mars Bar brownie however was amazing and decent coffee. Ladies toilet ceiling and sink in need of repair.

Breakfast! Eggs Benedict with bacon and coffee. Excellent place and food - one member of staff arrived late and one came in carrying bread just collected leaving one member of staff on the floor with all tables downstairs occupied and waiting. Should customers arrive later or staff arrive earlier?

Today was my birthday and my sister took myself and a friend to the wandering duck for lunch . It was my first time eating there but it won’t be the last . The food was delicious , the waitress was pleasant and smiling and checked to see if all was ok . We all had Bacon and Brie sandwich with rocket and shared sweet potato fries and French fries . Two of us are allergic to peppers and one asked for it without Brie and there was no problem . All of us got our required order and it was excellent . I would highly recommend the Wandering Duck and look forward to my next visit

I saw some very good reviews by others, so I gave it a try. 5 stars! I had the breakfast bagel it was excellent. Nice staff and cosy atmosphere. Near the centre of Darlington. The Wandering duck is well worth a look. Thanks.

Lovely lil rustic café on Grange street. Perfect for brunch, lunch and cocktails. I had grilled halloumi flatbread with salad and crisps. Yuummm. Very nice staff as well, quick service

I had to give this place 5* I can not think of anything they could change. We had the steak sandwich and the wandering duck club Sandwich which where amazing. The steak was soft tender and VERY well seasoned. The chimichurri mayo was extremely tasty! Their cocktails are lovely and I really enjoyed the ice latte. I don't think they take booking from what the waiter said when we asked if they had a table free, but we waited about 20mims and got a table. It's a short walk for the multi story car park as the on street parking is limited. There is ground floor entrance with tables on the ground floor too. Great brunch spot!

Lovely breakfast around £10 fir full English but high end quality so worth the bit extra. Lovely interior and clean. Screens for social distance great idea. Lovely friendly staff will definitely be back. Highly recommend if in Darlington

The best place for brunch/lunch in Darlington. Have never had a disappointing meal here and today was no exception - steak sandwich was cooked beautifully and had great flavours, Chicken Salad was so fresh and packed full of delicious items (big juicy olives, fresh crumbly feta, beautifully spiced chicken). Service was as good as ever and can’t wait to go back.

Was lovely to visit again and find that it's still the same after reopening still great service and good food.Good choice of Gins, Wines and cocktails as well as soft drinks and teas and coffeesI had the Hallumi salad it was delicious.Can't wait to return

Been here for brunch multiple times and is always amazing, the food is delicious and the service is usually brilliant however today we were sat for at least 15 minutes whilst waiting for the girl to finish making only 3 drinks for 1 other table to then eventually come and take our drink and food order , no apology for the wait and she didn’t really seem in anyway enthusiastic about being there which was a shame as every time other than today when it has been much busier (there was only 1 other table in today) the service has been spot on..

Went for breakfast while waiting for car to be serviced. Food delicious I had mushrooms with poached egg on toast ,hubby had full English wow what a plateful. We both found food really tasty . Pleasant efficient staff quick service . Definitely go again

Absolutely love this place, the service is first class, staff are always pleasant and efficient. We hadn’t booked but were lucky to get a table as it got quite busy a little later. We opted for the breakfast bagel and crushed avocado with an extra poached egg, both were delicious. Full Covid measures were in place.

Great coffee, breakfast is really good too. Inside is nice and comfortable, staff are friendly.

Went here for brunch with a friend, service was warm friendly and inviting. We didn't book, however staff were accommodating and seating was provided upstairs, the wandering duck is immaculate and social distance guidelines were followed making a safe experience. The choice of breakfast was tasty and service was fast with a good selection of cakes and generous portions. Love this place!always a pleasant experience staff are always attentive even when busy!

Wandering Duck was closed today as I found from their web site after visiting today. Last went before lock down. Charming staff, interesting international food and great margaritas. Will go next time I am in Darlington. Best place of that kind in Darlo. Paul Camp

Visited yesterday morning had various items from the breakfast menu, all were delightful & very well presented.The cafe has a lovely relaxed, Mediterranean ambience about it that wouldn’t be out of place on the streets of Paris.Very polite, efficient hosts, there is nothing to dislike about this cafe.Excellent.

We went at lunch time and the place was buzzing but we were greeted immediately by a friendly member of staff who directed us to a table upstairs. The menu was varied and we were spoilt for choice.We both opted for the steak sandwich and upgraded to fries. The beef was tender and the fries lovely and crispy.The coffee was good too.The only slight change I would make is add a bit of mustard mayo to the sandwich to take it up a notch in flavour.

A walk cut short due to the great British weather but all worth while as the food was of high standards.These are healthy meals with great size portions leaving you in a happy place and wanting more.Service was great and super fast and the place was busy too. All clean utensils and comfortable seating. A cracking little place for a coffee, brekky or brunch.
