Lovely little cafe. Very reasonably priced. The gentleman that served us was very quick and helpful. There is changing facilities for children, highchairs, a really cute motorbike rocking horse and a standard rocking horse so a few things to keep little ones busy whilst you finish your meal. They also have decaf tea, perfect for a breastfeeding mama. Oh yeah and they offer a mammoth breakfast, 4 bacon, 4 sausage, 4 eggs, 4 black pudding, fried bread, toast, beans, tomatoes etc for under a tenner. I didn't order it but I imagine it would be incredible and a great hangover cure. Please leave me a helpful vote if you found this review useful.

I fancied a cuppa and a scone and while shopping in Darlington looked out for a cafe. We stumbled alone this backstreet ( court yard) cafe. When you have something in mind and you go somewhere you’ve never been to before. Chances are you not quite get what you were wishing for. This time we struck gold. Not fancy but cosy. The food was good. The scones were first class and they are not stingy with things.Got a lot for my coin. Will return next time I go that way.

First Sunday lunch at Vesuvio for a while, and it was excellent. Chef Steve Hughes did a great job cooking and presenting a great tasting and plentiful traditional Sunday lunch. Pricing for all three courses made this meal great value, and it was an inspiring return to food at Vesuvio.

We aren’t local and chose to eat here purely from online photos. It looks amazing on the photos, however is a little more tired in person. It’s dark inside but certainly has character. We were given a warm welcome and prices were reasonable for both food and drink. Portion sizes were good, quality not so great and certainly didn’t match the photos. All was ok until a ‘singer’ very loudly belted their way through what were originally good songs. I’m glad we were sat upstairs, I really feel for anyone who had chosen to sit downstairs. Overall it was a pleasant evening but I don’t think we’d return if we were back in the area.
